I finally watched Casa de mi Padre.

It was what I'd expected--an absurd, over-the-top comedy that mostly works--with the pleasant surprise of a lot of music. I didn't know Will Ferrell can sing!

Parts that I especially enjoyed:

Will Ferrell doing a great job as the doofus straight man

Gael and Diego

Nick Offerman's horrendous gringo accent when speaking Spanish

Armando's rifle (shotgun maybe? idk) that never needs reloading

Onza's boots

All of the music

Diego's and Gael's death scenes

The deliberately bad sets, editing, reflections of the crew, etc. sending up telenovelas

The absolutely bonkers vision Armando has

I'm trying to forget seeing quite so much of Ferrell's ass during the intentionally bad/funny sex scene.

For those of you who work with video more than I, I have a screencapping question below the cut.

I bought the movie from YouTube Premium. Screen captures turn out black, and I neeeeeed a capture of Gael's eyes shooting tiny red laser beams from the bonkers vision. That was so damned funny!

I turned off hardware acceleration in both Brave and Firefox. Screencaps are still black. Any ideas?
