A modern cartoon sequel to the 90s cartoon crossover anti-drug PSA "Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue", except no one told Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show what they were there for and they get reeeeaaaaaal quiet once they find out.

Imagine waking up early to watch a cartoon special that had been advertised for weeks. You're excited because it's the biggest cartoon crossover in history. I'm talking ninja turtles, looney toons, Muppets and chipmunks just to name a few. Than you tune on and they proceed to spend the next 22 minutes being a bunch of narcs.

So I watched the Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue for the first time in a long, long time, and I've been thinking about why I used to rent this over and over again. It certainly wasn't the anti-drug message, because I already "knew" that drugs were "bad" and I didn't think I would ever do them anyway. No, I think it's because it was a big ambitious crossover of all those cartoons from 1990 that I liked as a kid (as well as some others I didn't watch) getting together and interacting with one another (sort of). It's just a shame that it was all for a piece of anti-drug propaganda.

Airing on every major TV network back in 1990, Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue taught kids to "just say no" with the help of Slimer, Alf, the Smurfs, Garfield, the Ninja Turtles, and pretty much everyone else who mattered. It was the most bizarre crossover event in recorded history.

Youtube said they'd sell my organs if I didn't post a video in 30 days so here's a short compilation of shots I animated for reanimated collabs!

I didn’t know what I put Doodle and Drew in when I edited them into this screenshot of Cartoon All Stars to the rescue, but now that I do, I am making something silly.

the 80s were weird
Nate, talking to an intern: Look, being miraged or cursed or akumatized or whatever feels good. It gives you a rush. But it's...it's like smoking.
Buzz, in the distance: Yeah. Psh, not even close. Unless smoking gave you magical powers and a dark smoke cloud constantly tempting you to do sin.
Nate: Counterpoint, it's like the Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue PSA version of smoking.
Buzz:
Nate: 😏
Buzz: ...I hate you.
Nate: I'm right.

can you imagine a modern version of cartoon all stars to the rescue with characters from modern tv shows?
That would be cool given all the hot cartoons that have come out since then including SpongeBob SquarePant, Adventure Time, Kim Possible, The Owl House, Amphibia, Ben 10, Samurai Jack, and Avatar the Last Airbender to clearly name only a small portion. ;)
