The name means 襤褸菊[Borogiku] that produces 紅い花[Akai hana](Crimson flowers). There is a species named 紅花[Benibana](Carthamus tinctorius), but not that one. Another name is 昭和草[Shōwasō].

A naturalized plant native to Africa, it apparently spread after the middle of Showa period(1926-1989). It is often found in somewhat dimly lit areas of forests and woodlands.

The grass is about forty to eighty centimeters tall. The red parts in the photo are tubular clusters of tiny flowers called Capitula(Pseudanthium), and there are no petal-like flowers called Ray floret,so they are the state of blooming.

It looks entirely pliant, the stems and leaves are soft, the flowers are droopy when in bloom, and the flowers are subdued, but I find a certain taste in its appearance.

Cây được trồng nhiều nơi ở Việt Nam tại Hà Giang sau đến một số tỉnh ở Bắc Bộ, Trung Bộ như Nghệ An v.v… Cây trồng bằng hạt vào vụ xuân. Giá trị, chất lượng Hồng Hoa trồng ở châu Âu thường không cao bằng Hồng Hoa Ba Tư, Hồng Hoa Bengal, Hồng Hoa Ai Cập v.v…
