I’m back on my tomfoolery

In the wonderland section of wasteland, Mickey gets framed for something stupid (think Mario sunshine) and the local executioner puts him on trial, or else it’s off with his head. Hijinks ensue while Oswald tries to clear mickeys name by talking to the wonderland residents. This is the better route by the by! The other is fighting and killing off the executioner as a boss, much like Petetronic or Captain Hook.

Oswald gets real tired of wonderland real fast. It takes Mickey a little longer to get angry.

i bought an a5 binder, some various sleeve pages, and a 5x7in photo album set with the type of sleeves i need to show a double-sided print. 

readers, the prints are 4x6. they aren’t gonna fit. they’re too fucking small. 

i have a few art prints and inclusions that will fill the albums so they WILL get used but not like. not immediately. i wanted to get these prints stored bc they’ve been sitting in the plastic sleeve i received them in for *checks notes* almost 7 years and i kinda want to actually display them somehow lmfao. i bought an album on sunday for the 5x7 prints/bromides that aren’t double-sided, but it’s a huge album and i’m not going to be able to fill it for a while. so i COULD just put them in that album, but i want to be able to see both sides of the prints! that’s why they’re double sided!!! aaaagh!!!

the album pages with sleeves that are sized for kpop pcs or insta-x photos....are way too big!!!!!!! so i don’t know what i did wrong!!! what size do i need?!?!?!?! 

do i need to sleeve the cards for them to fit, is this what’s wrong??? like i bought sleeves a while ago but i’m p sure they’re knock-offs because they’re fucking HUGE and the box label is printed in comic sans. so like. i guess i have to get cardguard from my work or dragonshield from amazon???????? i don’t get it!!!! i don’t get how this works!!!!!!!!!! *girl who watches pcs sorting/storing videos 5x a day and still doesn’t retain any knowledge of the correct products to buy*

i have another binder for pcs that fits them perfectly, no sleeves needed, but it doesn’t have rings so i can’t add pages and it’s pretty full (which is...why i bought the new a5 binder). this binder is going to be for my twice pcs (simply bc they give a LOT per album), so i want it to look nice...but the pcs don’t fit lmfao. i’ll grab a pack of cardguards from work on my next shift and hope they fit! otherwise i’ll have to wait on the dragonshields.

what if a bunch of the guards did a fun little group dance together? i do not care if they just hold hands and spin in a circle, i simply wish that they are happy (not saying they aren't rn but fun group dances are fun)

The biggest group I could do at this point was two, but it's a duo that was the first to be featured on the OG blog

So I have a hard time making new cosplays without making stories for them. I'm gonna be a card guard at a friend's Mad Tea Party she's hosting at an upcoming convention. In the process of making her I decided to turn her into someone for my Dreamland story as well. Here we have Ruby Night. A beautiful duality of black and red. She's a fighter who isn't afraid to use her looks to get in an easy kill. Here’s the wonderland residents! (Most of them, I shift characters around a lot and I forgot the puppy, who’s just a big dog from the original 1939 draft)

Each characters design is based off one or two iterations, some of which are pretty weird (except Ella I’ll explain Ella-) but the entire concept of this series(??) is a bit weird . Info on characters under cut

Before we start, depending on which path Mickey follows, wonderland will either take on the personality and look of David halls 1939 draft (scary, beautiful but scary) or Mary Blair’s concepts. Certain characters will or won’t show up either

We’ll go in order

Anthropomorphic drink me bottle- from the original 1939 David hall draft. Was essentially replaced by the doorknob. Only character in the movie to be original and not come from the book.

Dinah- the scrapped concept of Dinah falling down with Alice and becoming the Cheshire Cat gained life in wasteland, and retains the more helpful guide side of the character from what was Mary Blair’s concept I believe. She plays a lot with the David hall vs Mary Blair aspect.

Mary Ann- also showed up in the David hall draft. Her design and personality I took from wonderland, a comic book series published by Disney and slave labor graphics

Jokerface- HAH OkAy SO THIS IS A BOSS FROM DISNEY MAGICAL WORLD 2- he a ghost that can impersonate others and when I replayed the game in 2019-ish I fell in love with him and he showed up again in the remake I’ll never play but people can’t seem to remember he has a name so he COuNTs. I’ve played with the idea he frames Mickey and plays as a mini boss in the “good” path

Griffon and mockturtle- these two made it into drafts from the 1940s. Some by David hall, one by Mary Blair, but more specifically ones depicting a scene where they dance with Alice and lobsters (can’t find the artist at the time). Their design are a mix of that specific draft, and my favorite, their jello commercial. Where they are fully animated in old Disney style with new designs and talk to Alice about how to entertain and feed guest at the same time with the wonderful power of jello.

Executioner- from the David hall draft. Design is from the Alice in wonderland dark ride in Disneyland because in the Draft he’s just a dude. He would be the boss in the “bad” path, trying to execute Mickey. He’s also the caretaker of the heartcards

Heartcards- from one specific piece of work by Mary Blair. They’re childish and innocent at heart. Only show up in the good path.

Ella- HeH, whoops okay. This is already a long post and Ella needs a lot of explaining because she’s not a wonderland character. That will probably be in a separate post. But just know her design is based of a butterfly and some David Hall drafts of the caterpillar

The afternoon that greeted the Castle was a quiet one; as the Council moved about inside its walls, the plants were stretching and vibrantly changing colors for fun, and Hatter was for once resting in the nursery with the pack, snoring with Sirius and Pax on his chest and lap with the dogs and Pearl around them.

However it WAS the Castle, and as such, a sudden explosion rocking the walls of the southwest towers was inevitable.

"ⓍUgh...Ow...What the hell...Ⓧ" Xander groaned slowly as he sat up, lap full of rubble from the room he'd commandeered for his intention. He looked all around, dismayed to find the spell ingredients, his crystals and the pages of the book he'd copied AND the ritual cloth he'd painstakingly stitched together with Ailfrid's help, all scorched, broken, and ripped to shreds by the detonation.

He was in the midst of getting up when a voice called out. "♫Xander I understand who your Adora is, but do you REALLY have to indulge in THIS particular habit?♫" Mediote's face was pinched in a way that said he was less than happy at the disturbance.

"ⓍOut of all the blow backs this array could throw at me, explosions were damn near at the bottom of the list.Ⓧ" Xander sighed as the blind Elf meandered in carefully and helped pull Xander to his feet. "Ⓧ...Where are the guards?Ⓧ" The shorter Elf realized he had yet to see any of the Cards coming in despite the room being pretty much wrecked.

Mediote huffed with a flat look. "♫Xander we do know what your energy feels like.♫" He shrugged exaggeratedly. "♫When we realized the source was you, we figured it was probably like when the General causes a ruckus.♫"

"ⓍNo, I had guards posted at the doors!  Were they hurt?!Ⓧ" Xander ran to the door, only to top as two of the Gold CardGuards peered in.

They both seemed sheepish, their customary mustaches turned downward. "♫Guards?♫" Mediote uttered, turning his head and facing the two. "♫...Huh. They're more silent than I remember. I didn't even register them.♫"

"ⓍI-Is everyone alright?!  No injuries?Ⓧ" Xander fretted, feeling uneasy about the backlash of his test.

The Cards thankfully wobbled side to side, their way of shaking their heads. "No, but, uh. That's gonna take a while to clean." The guards commented while looking at the room.

"♫Then you'd better get to it.♫" -Mediote ordered, grabbing onto Xander's arm and dragging him off without any hesitation. "♫To your Adora with you. I'm certainly not explaining why you copied your mate.♫"

Xander tried to jerk back, flailing his free arm. "ⓍNo! Not yet! I need to see if any of this is salvageable!Ⓧ"

"Don't worry Lord Light! We'll make sure to bring anything we find!" The Cards saluted him as they began to clean up, brushing the debris into piles and sweeping up glass and crystal fragments.

"♫Xander you were in the epicenter of an explosion. I'm amazed I showed up before your Adora did.♫" Mediot was nonplussed by Xander struggling, keeping a grip on the shorter Elf despite Xander's attempts at freedom.

The shorter Elf gave up trying to get free and walked with Mediote, calling to the Gaurds over his shoulder. "ⓍI'm tougher than I look! But this was a very /sensitive/ ritual! Guards! Under no circumstances should /anyone/ view anything from this room before I return!Ⓧ" A twin 'Got it my Lord!' was shouted back to him.

"♫Honestly Xander, why is it primarily you, General, or my Snowball who wind up causing these events?♫" Mediote had an exasperated look on his face as they headed to the end of the hallway where they then entered the elevator.

The platform rose once they were both steady, giving Xander a chance to stretch. "ⓍWe tend to be the first ones to assist Aliblu. Or wandering guests. Or just want to help friends.Ⓧ" He sighed, brushing soot off his robes. "ⓍI hope this is the most direct way to one of the hot springs.Ⓧ" He was rewarded with Mediote's characteristic eye-roll.

"♫Yes because I'd stand in the way of this.♫" The blind one stepped back as the elevator stopped at its destination and Hatter came charging over, sweeping Xander in his arms and hugging his Adora to his chest.

"Tantum what in Wonderland were you doing just now?!"

Right. Overprotective mate. "ⓍGah! Astrum! I-I'll tell you later!Ⓧ" Xander squirmed about, not noticing that Mediote departed once Hatter had come over.

'���As if I would've allowed you to perform such an annoying spell. Not that you could get your hands on my wares at this point, Xander, but you'd make an interesting specimen. I'd rather not have to get rid of you so soon.♫' Mediote hummed as he followed his own energy trail towards his tower.

He recalled the previous night, slipping into the storer-room Xander had been visiting in frequency and thus had marked as his supply closet. '♫What an absolute fool. Like a frogbee buzzing about to alert the others in the hive to where honey can be gathered, he led me right to the tools of his own failure.♫' The sabotage hadn't been grand; cracking the crystals ever so slightly, enough to compromise their durability but retain their physical sctructure. Undoing several strands in the cloth, and he was by now an expert in erasing script, even Xander's ratty handwriting.

'♫Of course I wasn't expecting him to wind up with such an attention-gathering result. I suppose I cracked one too many fissures into those gems.♫' Mediote's claws had been dulled by doing so, but he could easily have them sharpened with some sandpaper. '♫As long as the General convinces him to cease his nosing about in business that isn't his own.♫'

"Ah! Master!" Rhapsody's energy came buzzing up to him like a bee, annoying bright and loud. "I finished the score you set for me!"

His hand found the younger Elf's head, patting Rhapsody on the head and getting the pulses of -Master's happy I did good!- that flitted through his student's mind. "♫Play it for me then, I will decide if you've finished, remember?♫" He reminded, Rhapsody nodding under his claws and waiting as Mediote passed him before following his teacher.

'♫Aside all that, I'm too close to the results stage. Snowball's already showing signs of mental fatigue, and that weakness allowed my consciousness in, though briefly. What was he trying to achieve anyway, in that broken puppet's mindscape?♫' The blind Elf mused as Rhapsody opened his tower door for him, Mediote strolling through. '♫No matter, I suppose. Whatever that toy's purpose was meant for, it will be useless eventually. Whomever created it lacked the understanding of an ideal possession.♫'

Mediote sat down in his chair as Rhapsody located a harp and began to play. '♫It will be fun if I can actually view that event unfold, I suppose. If Snowball continues to weaken, I may see through him once more.♫' The blind Elf's eyes narrowed.

"Say, Master?" Rhapsody's energy pulsed again, bright and gleaming. "I-I know you said I can't leave the castle, b-but-! Uhm! Sir Xander asked me to come along on an outing to the outer marketplace!" The younger Elf's gleaming presence was wilting, expecting the reprimand, knowing his teacher could so easily deny him on the grounds Rhapsody was HIS student, not Xander's. Such an easy power to display...Too easy.

He lifted his hand and flapped it once. "♫Just don't cause trouble.♫"

"R-REALLY?!" Rhapsody's energy immediately brightened to the point it was tangible as a taste on Mediote's tongue. Like something citrus and sweet, it clung to his sense of taste like the stink of dragon dung.

Mediote's face fell into an irritated expression. "♫If you plan to keep my answer as yes you'll reconsider inching toward me right now and go inform Xander of my decision.♫"

"R-Right. Thank you Master!" Rhapsody hurriedly left the tower without even bothering to ask how well he'd played his score.

Which had, admittedly, been quite well.

'♫...With Xander now butting in, it wouldn't hurt to expand my range.♫' The blind eyes slid to follow Rhapsody's energy from behind the castle walls. '♫And such a young, spry, healthy candidate certainly would be interesting to test.♫'

Mediote smirked.
