Speaker Repair 101: How To Use Speaker Repair Glue To Fix Your Audio Equipment
youtube
Audio equipment is an integral part of many homes and businesses. Without properly functioning speakers, the sound quality of music, movies, and other audio sources suffers drastically. Unfortunately, speakers are prone to damage due to wear and tear over time, which can affect their performance.
Speaker repair glue is a powerful tool for repairing damaged speaker components and restoring them to working condition. In this article we will discuss the importance of using the right speaker repair glue as well as provide a step-by-step guide on how to apply it effectively so that you can get back up and running quickly. We will also cover some maintenance tips and safety precautions when dealing with speaker repair glue.
Understanding Speaker Components: Why Speaker Repair Glue is Essential
By understanding the components of a speaker and the role each part plays in sound production, one can appreciate why specialized adhesives like speaker repair glue are essential for repairing cone or surround damage.
A typical speaker consists of a driver, which is responsible for generating sound waves; an enclosure that provides acoustic dampening; and transducers, which convert electrical signals into sound vibrations.
Speaker repair glue acts as a strong adhesive to hold these various components together, ensuring they remain secure even under the intense vibrations produced by powerful bass notes.
The lord of bass himself requires his speakers to be held together with robust adhesive solutions, like speaker repair glue.
By using this substance when fixing cone or surround damage on audio equipment, users can be sure their systems will operate smoothly without any distortion from loose parts.
Whether it's keeping a subwoofer secure during an energetic performance or simply restoring your home stereo system to its former glory, speaker repair glue is an invaluable tool in any audiophile's arsenal.
Choosing the Right Speaker Repair Glue: What to Look For
The selection of the correct adhesive for speaker repairs is a critical factor in ensuring successful and lasting repair work, with considerations such as adhesion strength, flexibility after drying, resistance to temperature fluctuations, and whether it is specifically designed for speakers or audio equipment all requiring careful attention.
It is important to choose the right glue that meets your needs:
* Adhesion Strength: A strong adhesive should be used for any speaker repair job. Look for an adhesive that has good gap-filling properties and can create a strong bond between two surfaces.
* Flexibility After Drying: The glue should retain its flexibility even after it has dried so that it won't crack or break when flexed. It's also important to make sure the glue will remain flexible in temperatures extremes and other environmental conditions.
* Resistance To Temperature Fluctuations: When choosing a glue for speaker repairs, you'll want one that can withstand drastic changes in temperature without cracking or becoming brittle.
* Speaker-Specific Glue: There are also glues specially formulated for audio equipment repairs; these glues may provide superior adhesion strength compared to general purpose glues. However, they may not have other features such as flexibility or temperature resistance.
When choosing speaker repair glue, consider all of these factors carefully so you can pick out the best product for your project. With the right choice of adhesive, you'll be able to complete any repair job quickly and easily while ensuring long-lasting results.
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Apply Speaker Repair Glue for Optimal Results
Careful application of the right speaker repair adhesive can ensure a secure and lasting bond for any audio equipment repairs.
To begin, it is best to start by ensuring that the surfaces of both speakers and their surrounding area are free from dirt and debris. This will make sure that the glue has maximum adhesion potential when applied.
Using a brush or cloth, it is then important to lightly abrade the surface where the adhesive will be placed to create better contact between the two surfaces.
Next, use a clean applicator such as a toothpick or an acid brush to apply an even layer of speaker repair glue on one of the surfaces you wish to join together. It is important not to add too much glue – just enough so that there is a thin film covering the whole surface.
Allow this layer of glue to dry until it becomes tacky before attempting to attach both pieces together with light pressure.
Finally, allow 24 hours for complete drying before testing out your repair job!
Maintenance and Safety Tips: Proper Handling of Speaker Repair Glue
Proper handling of speaker repair glue is essential for successful audio equipment repairs, and involves safety precautions, cleanup methods, and shelf life preservation.
It is important to always wear protective gloves when working with speaker repair glue to avoid skin contact.
Additionally, it is recommended to work in a well-ventilated area to reduce the risk of breathing in fumes from the adhesive.
When finished applying the glue, any remaining residue should be immediately wiped away with a damp cloth or paper towel before it dries; otherwise, it may become difficult to remove later on.
Furthermore, keeping unused speaker repair glue stored in its original container will help preserve its shelf life and ensure optimal results during use.
Maintaining speakers can also help prevent damage that requires using speaker repair glue.
Regular inspections should be conducted on all audio equipment components such as cones, magnets, and wiring for signs of wear and tear which could lead to future sound distortion or other issues requiring adhesive repairs.
Additionally, proper storage techniques can also help protect against any potential water damage or dust accumulation that could result in corroded wires or other faults needing fixing with a suitable sealant product like speaker repair glue.
Conclusion
In conclusion, speaker repair glue is an essential tool for anyone looking to fix their audio equipment. It can help prevent damage from occurring in the future and ensure that your equipment sounds great for years to come.
The key is to select the right type of glue and apply it correctly for optimal results. A little extra effort goes a long way when it comes to speaker repair glue – by taking the time to use it properly, you can secure virtually any part of your audio system with ease!
With its powerful adhesive properties, speaker repair glue is guaranteed to provide superior performance every time, making it a must-have item in any DIY audiophile’s arsenal!

What Are Mercedes Benz C Class Carbon Fiber Kits? Know More About It Here
Mercedes Benz C Class carbon fiber kits are aftermarket automotive parts made from carbon fiber, which is a strong and lightweight material. These kits are designed to replace certain exterior parts on a Mercedes Benz C-Class vehicle, such as the hood, trunk lid, or spoilers. The main benefit of using carbon fiber for these parts is weight reduction. Carbon fiber is significantly lighter than most metals, so replacing metal parts with carbon fiber counterparts can help reduce the overall weight of the vehicle, which can improve performance and fuel efficiency.
Tumblr media
A Mercedes AMG front grill is a decorative and functional component of a Mercedes AMG vehicle's front end. It is located in the front of the car, between the headlights, and is usually made of plastic or metal. The front grill serves several purposes, including providing ventilation for the engine, protecting the front of the car from debris, and giving the car a distinctive appearance. Many aftermarket companies offer replacement front grills for Mercedes AMG vehicles, which can be made from a variety of materials, including carbon fiber, aluminium, and stainless steel.
Carbon fiber is also known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, so it can provide additional strength and durability to the parts it is used in. In addition to these performance benefits, carbon fiber kits may also provide a visual enhancement to the vehicle. Carbon fiber has a distinctive appearance, with a woven or textured surface, and it is often used to make high-end sports or racing cars. As such, installing carbon fiber parts on a Mercedes Benz C-Class may give the car a more aggressive or sporty look.
Carbon fiber kits for a Mercedes Benz C-Class can provide weight reduction and improved strength and durability for certain exterior parts of the vehicle. These benefits can lead to improved performance and fuel efficiency, as well as a sportier appearance.

New Post has been published on https://www.vividracing.com/blog/mercedes-clk63-black-series-front-carbon-spoiler-reborn/
Mercedes CLK63 Black Series Front Carbon Spoiler Reborn
The Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series is one of the most iconic cars of its time. With only 500 cars made in the world and 394 brought to the USA, this car has become a collectors piece. Only available as a 2008 model, the DTM inspired flares and raw 6.3L (6.218L actually) V8 engine pumps out 500 horsepower with its 7 speed paddle shift transmission. In its heyday, this was the pace car for F1 races around the world and posters on the walls for many enthusiasts.
Back in 2019 I had purchased a very rare 1 of 10 Mars Red Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series. When COVID hit and space in the Vivid Racing shop became a premium, I decided to sell the car on Bring a Trailer. Having purchased the car for $72500 and sold it for $95000, I thought I was a big dog. Today that car with 23000 miles I sold it with is worth $150K.
So after I sold my Porsche 992 GT3 we did here at Vivid Racing, I started a new quest to find another Black Series. With not a single Mars Red available in the USA, I started to look globally. Since I had previous imported the Ford Escort RS Cosworth from Spain, I decided to see what was in Europe. After some searching I came across this incredible white one that was actually produced in 2007 for the AMG CEO. It was outfitted with many European market exclusive options such as carbon fiber door cards, a carbon fiber GT trunk wing, and bucket AMG racing seats. But then it had this crazy front lip spoiler that further accentuated the DTM look of the car. Unfortunately they wanted $130,000 for this vehicle that had an equivalent of 70,000 miles so I continued my hunt.
A short time later I came across this beautiful Silver CLK63 in Nashville. With only 19500 miles on it, this was the perfect car. Wanting to get this as a collector piece, I did not want to really modify it. But that white one with the front lip kept on pulling heart strings. When the CLK63 hit the USA market, the aftermarket community went crazy with modifications not knowing what this car would become. Everything from suspension, exhausts, intakes, superchargers, and more aero parts. Being that the CLK63 comes factory with a carbon fiber rear diffuser, a carbon fiber trunk lip wing, and carbon fiber front bumper side vents, it is definitely missing a carbon fiber front lip.
Utilizing our experience with creating Carbon Fiber Aero parts, I 3d scanned the entire front bumper. Pulling from queues of the white Mercedes CLK63, we designed this new front lip spoiler to flow seamlessly with the rest of the aero and carbon fiber style. Now with a complete CAD model completed, a CNC aluminum mold was developed to lay up pre-preg carbon fiber material and then allow it to cure in an autoclave. Utilizing the latest technology and tier 1 materials in the pre-preg carbon fiber process, we achieve a beautiful glossy finish. The result is an OEM matching 2×2 twill carbon weave that fits to perfection.
In the end we now have a carbon fiber front lip spoiler for the limited amount of Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series cars. This isn’t a get rich product, but brings back the initial modding and enthusiast craze of such a legendary car. If interested in acquiring one of these front lip spoilers, just click on the link below or contact us.

ab the ferrari suits, there are a few things I'd change like the little square around the shell logo and the saturation of hp (what could they have done realistically lbr that's a title sponsor) but I??? Like it?? I think the dedication to the engineers is cute?? And the kits honestly ate idc same w the trophy
I really like the traditional trophies but sometimes trying smth different it works out and sometimes it doesn't (zandvoort sorry some of the messages were nice but overalllll ehhhhh)
at the end it's just personal preference but I do think it's getting disproportionate hatery
imo they could come out in actual trash, but if the car is fast I'll take it
literally i get people hate logos but they need to move on from it because at the end of the day sponsor logo readability and adherence to brand standard will always come first...like they are Not Allowed to display sponsor logos in "incorrect" ways its just part of what they agree to when they bring on a sponsor and that means bright blue hp and shell being displayed on a solid color bg. i actually think they managed very well with shell by putting it in the yellow square, it fits in very modularly and reads well into the overall concept w using yellow as the dominant color there...like they couldve just slapped it on a white square like some other teams are stuck doing for their sponsor logos cmon..theyre overall really lucky to have so many sponsors who DO allow them to display their logos in a color like yellow that is most certainly not in their brand guidelines. personally i think that alone speaks to how well these sponsors view ferrari as a brand and a partner, its like kind of insane to imagine a huge company ALLOWING the recoloring of their logo like that, easily they couldve been required to keep every sleeve logo white or something..
I think we are way too harsh on ferrari when they are LITERALLY the only team that even tries to do anything interesting with race suits and has pretty consistently given us a bunch of different designs. and not even just recolors!! new designs! its great and i wish more teams would take the risk, it makes it a lot of fun. I think the hate on the carbon fiber look is lame, its a pattern thats so quintessentially racecar, i think the sleeve on the jerseys looks great and very fashionable. and I think the race suits are FUN i think they feel kind of old school and are very striking, they almost remind me of like a subtle jockey silk. i already love the vintage racing stripes feel of the regular suits this year, and i think the yellow striping + the pattern looks great and is really bold and refreshing. so much fucking better than a boring ass black race suit. try thinking about sports gear as something meant to be eye catching, iconic, memorable, collectible, and not just like. idk...sexy for an aesthetic post...idk
dont get me started on trophies, i really do view the trophies, especially ones by contemporary artists, as just that. contemporary art. and while im all good w people having their opinions and having discussions on that art, i hate how often it turns into just like. the tired old takes of Modern Art Bad, Classical Art Good. i actually really loved the zandvoort trophies lookswise, the sentiments written were a little eh, but i thought it was a great way to refresh the trophies, a very cool technique used, and a great way to get people talking! I love the monza trophies, as I said, i think theyre really beautiful n compelling sculptures...
i just think generally a lot of people do in fact have narrower vision if what they believe is "good art" than even they think they do, and i think a majority of people completely misunderstand sports design and just don't like seeing things that are different/not sexy 🤷‍♂️

Work on chapter 47 of American Beasts has begun, and this is very much the chapter that kicks off the climax of the fic. The war between the cult and the resistance is about to come to a head, and Kit and John are about to invade Fall's End. But first, some of Kit's prepping for war and getting inside of her head:
With the sudden winter storm came the flood of freezing rain afterwards, washing away the snow and turning it to dirty gray slush instead. The calm and the quiet retreated with the pelting drops that fell from the sky. The bright white of the snow turning bleak as an unsettling amassing of clouds above seemed to block out the sun entirely. Hope County was thrust into darkness as if the end of the world was right on their doorstep.
God was watching. Waiting.
All Kit could do was prepare. The simple task of cleaning her gun relaxed her. She knew every step without thinking, memorized until her hands knew all the motions even when her mind was far afield. War was on the doorstep, and as much as Joseph could tell her that wasn’t her role anymore, being a soldier was what she knew. It was in her blood. Fighting gave her purpose, it gave her a reason to live. Fighting kept her heart beating, her lungs straining for another breath. It was why she was alive and she couldn’t forget that.
Back in Afghanistan before every mission (and before that night in the helicopter flying to Joseph’s church to arrest him) she had always had her ritual. Some prayed, some wrote letters back home to the ones they loved, some turned to vices – she relied on her weapons, they were the only thing she’d ever put any trust in other than herself.
Standing at the desk in Jacob’s office, covered in maps, plans and preparations set into motion long before the deadline would be struck, she stripped her gun. Sliding apart each cool piece of metal, her fingers ran over the notches and the knicks from wear and tear before taking out her cleaning rods. She sprayed the parts of her rifle with cleaner and swabbed them free of the carbon fibers and build up that had occurred with use, wiping them down with a rag. Each pin popped out with relative ease, the carrier group sliding free of the upper receiver. She worked meticulously, getting into every alcove, removing every hint of debris.
Her mind stayed focused, narrowed and tunneled to remain on only one thing. The thoughts of failure were blocked, the darkness walled off. She was a warrior and this battle was the fuse that would light the fires of Hell in Hope County. Brother against brother, neighbors on opposite sides of the fight. Friends made foes. What she’d give for an angel to appear to the citizens outside the Project, delivering to them the word, but even then she didn’t think they’d ever listen. They didn’t want to see the end, they weren’t ready to believe, too blinded by their own sins to see the light. Devastation was all they wanted, so it’s what she would deliver unto them.
After cleaning was complete, she began to lubricate the bolt and its release, the trigger on the springs, and a little oil to the buffer spring. Her brow furrowed as she rubbed at the metal with the lubricant, her mouth pursed as she made sure to dig into every corner with her cloth, when warm arms wrapped around her and held her tight. Her eyes widened, her one track mind taken off course. She stiffened instinctively, muscles reacting to a threat. The fight kicked in before she’d come to her senses, the bite that had been trained into her.
Looking down at her waist she recognized the scarred and inflamed skin of the arms that surrounded her, but that didn’t stop her chest from squeezing so tight the very breath was stolen from her, the parts in her hand starting to shake as the tension in her grip steadily built.
His mouth rested by her ear, voice warm and smoky like campfire while his beard burned the soft exposed skin of her neck and shoulder. “Did I spook ya?”
Hands gripped her tight, her muscles shifting reflexively underneath his touch despite trying to remind her that she was protected. She was safe. That she was there with him. She was home. Fingers splayed out against her stomach, pressing in against her core. Her weakness.
“Kitty?”
She finally withdrew the breath she’d been sheltering inside her throat and her heart rate slowed. The natural instinct in her finally calming only for her to be left confused as to why now of all moments he decided to be here and to hold her. There had been no bloodshed, no struggle, no breakdown. It was serene, a moment to herself, and there he appeared during the mundane.
“N-no.” She shook her head, not sure if she was assuring him of her words or herself. “Just thinking,” she muttered while wiping off the excess lubricant leaving the exterior of the bolt with a sheen.
“I should’ve known better than to disturb ya while you were gettin’ prepped.”
Kit huffed out a sigh, blowing her bangs out of her face and he withdrew his grip on her, pulling back. Dropping her gun on the table, she grabbed his hands and curled them around her once more. “No. Don’t let go,” she said softly.
His brow furrowed, but he did as he was ordered, holding her tightly against him once more. “You gettin’ stuck in your own head again?”
“Can’t help it. Just getting in the zone. I’m gonna have to be sharp for this one. John and I,  we both have targets on our backs. Just gotta hope God’ll show us a little mercy.”
He stood silently and she already knew he’d have nothing good to say about her hopes for God intervening, but he didn’t say a word. It was better to leave her with her faith if it meant she’d come back home. Jacob had that much sense about him, he still didn’t believe, but she did (in her own way).
As he held her she connected the puzzle pieces of her rifle back together, the upper and lower receivers, and the bolt carrier group. Each click and snap restoring further calm, things would come together, she had nothing to fear. She was ready for this, she’d been preparing all of her life for this moment. God was on her side.
The soft fanning of his breath against her skin as he watched her work helped ground her, that smell of cigarette smoke wafting up her nostrils reminding her of being in that cage, knowing he watched her then too. A force of nature, something worth beholding for a man who’d seen it all. War. Death. He was unfazed, until she arrived.
She took the cleaning rod and passed it down the barrel, plunging it in and out, slowly and thoughtfully. All the bullets she’d spent in all this time, the blood that poured, the lives stolen, she hoped they were all worth it in the end. According to Joseph there would be a day when she’d stop fighting and find her peace, when she would be wiped clean of her sin, the taint she carried with her finally flushed from her soul and scrubbed from her body. She couldn’t imagine it, being a leader without an outside force pressuring her to be, but if it was God’s will who was she to question it?
Wiping down the exterior of the gun with her rag of any excess oil and cleaner, it looked like new. Untouched. A weapon that had never once fired a bullet. She supposed that would be her fate as well once she was freed of the burden she carried like the albatross around her neck. Innocent and pure. Fit for Eden.
Testing the trigger and the safety, she made sure they worked just as smoothly as they had before. Taken apart, put back together. Tools shoved into the crevices, shards removed like shrapnel. None would be the wiser about how used this weapon was. The things it had to do for the one who controlled it. No one blames the tool, they blame the handler.
Except when it came to her.

Oh Shoot
read on AO3
The Foot ninja squadron really had come out of nowhere. Thinking back on it, Leo couldn’t find a thing that could have tipped him off to their presence, he was simply alone one second, and the next he was very much not. At least this time turned out much better than his last solo Foot-encounter; rather than multiple stab and slash wounds and an entire windowpane’s worth of glass splinters, there was only one arrow buried in the meat of his thigh.
The walk home was a little laborious, having the thrilling task of making sure he wasn’t going to further injure himself by walking on the leg while also being sure he wasn’t leaving a blood trail to follow, not to mention the jolt of pain with every step. He limped into the lair hours later than he meant to, and, like he expected, found the main area dark and empty. On one hand, he was glad there was no one awake to witness his stupidity and/or mock him relentlessly for managing to be ambushed. On the other hand, he sure wished there was someone around to help him yank the arrow out of his leg and stitch it up so he could go the shell to sleep.
Just to make sure he was alone in this arrow-yanking endeavor, he stuck his head in the train car that served as Don’s lab and called for said brother. Nothing. He also peered into the darkness of the dojo and made sure no one had fallen asleep on the couch.
Nothing.
Well, this wouldn’t be the first time he’d given himself stitches, and it wouldn’t be the last. He didn’t needhelp, he could do it by himself. Probably.
Still limping but worrying less about the potential trail of blood in his wake, he gathered what he would need and decided to set up at the kitchen table. It was perhaps less than ideal from a place of keeping-living-spaces-sanitary, but there was no way he would be able to get access to the wound while standing up. His shell simply didn’t bend like that—or, well, at all. The shaft of the arrow stuck out of the outer rear of his thigh, fairly high up. He had to turn his knee inward and do a bit of neck-craning to see the point of entry at all.
He tucked a dark-colored towel between his leg and the kitchen chair, then began to set out his supplies, namely the homemade suture kit. All tucked in a sterile zip-top bag, it contained pre-measured pieces of nylon suture, a repurposed upholstery needle, forceps, tweezers, and scissors. It wasn’t the most professional setup, but it worked. Considering their nonhuman and civilian nature, they didn’t exactly have easy access to prepackaged and sterilized surgical supplies. Without the luxury of single-use needles, they would sterilize, sharpen, and re-seal the same needle until it became truly unusable. This one thankfully looked close to its original size and shape. Antiseptic, gauze, and numbing cream joined the kit on the table, and then he turned his attention to the wound.
He sighed. There was a dark ring of bruising around the wound, as well as a jagged line of torn skin from his initial mindless reaction to try ripping the arrow out as soon as it struck him. For a moment, he considered waking up his father. It was nearly four in the morning, after all, and he very much wanted to just go to sleep already. But it was four in the morning, and Leo didn’t want to wake him for something he could almost certainly do by himself.
He knew once he withdrew the arrow, the wound would start bleeding with exceptional prejudice, so he made sure the gauze was close at hand and the towel was doubled over underneath him. That done, he clenched his teeth and doused the area in rubbing alcohol before doing anything else. It smarted, but the pain certainly paled in comparison to when it had slammed into his leg at a hundred or so miles an hour. What was really going to hurt, he figured, was what came next.
He dried his hand and the carbon fiber shaft of the arrow thoroughly and got a good grip on it near where it disappeared into his leg. In one quick, decisive motion, he yanked up and out, and the arrow…did not move.
He managed to keep his mouth shut, which resulted in a strangled, breathy grunt instead of a yelp, but the prolonged string of expletives from his mouth was loud enough to make up for it.
That was not what he expected to happen.
He took a few deep breaths and tried to blink away the dancing white spots that always clouded his vision when he got this tired. He slowly released the death grip on the arrow and contorted himself to get as close to the wound as possible—what the shell was going on down there? Fresh blood bubbled up around the shaft, completely obscuring the wound. He was tempted to douse the whole thing in hydrogen peroxide just so he could see it, but that would mean hauling his shell back to the bathroom, and that was so not going to happen at this point.
He groaned at length, more out of frustration than anything else, and leaned back to rest his head on the back of the chair. He was exhausted. After the hour of rigorous katas, several miles of rooftop running, and the twenty or so ninja he singlehandedly took out, all he wanted to do was take his gear off and sleep for about a year. As it was, he could feel blood starting to run down his leg despite his contingency towel, and he honestly couldn’t care less.
Multiple times before, he had watched actors remove make-believe arrows from themselves and others. They always pushed the arrow the rest of the way through and cut the fletched end off, then removed it from the other end. What he remembered even more clearly was Donnie sitting beside him, hissing and muttering about how that was so not the way that needed to be done. Jeers of where is your scalpel and why are you causing so much more damage! echoed in his head.
If he tried to push this arrow through, it would hit bone. And as unpleasant for it was for the arrow to make itself comfy in his flesh, he couldn’t even imagine how blindingly painful it would be to jab himself in the femur. Once again, he was tempted to wake Sensei or Donnie. Shell, at this point he’d take Raph, he really just wanted the thing out of his leg so he could go to sleep!
He groaned with measures of drama that he usually would have mocked Mikey for. He just had to get it out. Forget the stitches, forget about being tidy, he just wanted to sleep.
With every ounce of energy he had left, he leaned forward and began to dig through the med kit with a specific tool in mind. Finally, in the same side-pocket Donnie always stored it in, his fingers closed around the handle of a scalpel.
He uncapped the blade and gave it a good look. There weren’t any nicks in this one, but the tip of it looked suspiciously rounded. If it were one of his katana, he wouldn’t have let it fly, but it was getting close to five in the morning and he was rapidly running out of shits to give.
Sweat gathered on the back of his neck as he contorted once more to get a good look at the wound. He placed the scalpel carefully at the base of the arrow’s shaft and, wincing all the while, wriggled the blade into the wound alongside it. He kept following it down until he felt it hit the lip of the arrowhead.
The scalpel was buried well past the grip, giving him only the slippery plastic handle to hold onto. His fingers were slick with warm blood.
He sucked in a breath through his teeth and braced himself. This was probably going to hurt, and probably ill advised. But as the great masters say…fuck it.
Leo yanked back with firm, unyielding pressure to draw a line through his flesh, up and out with the scalpel. He let it drop to the kitchen floor, a sound he didn’t hear over the roar of blood in his ears, and shifted his grip to the arrow’s shaft. He pressed into one side of the wound to angle the arrowhead up, and yanked for all his worth.
The relief was immediate and immense. He distantly heard the clatter of the arrow hitting the concrete as he slumped back bonelessly into the chair. He had enough presence of mind to blindly slap at the table until he found the open gauze package and lazily stuff it into the now-profusely bleeding wound before he let the blessed darkness consume him.
“Leonardo!”
Leo jolted awake and nearly fell sideways. He reached out and smacked his hand against the kitchen table so hard that his palm tingled.
Raphael stood above him with his hands balled in fists, arms tucked so tightly over his chest that his biceps bulged angrily. He wasn’t wearing his mask or any other gear yet, which meant he must have just woken up.
“Raph?”
He gestured to Leo with a sharp motion toward his lap specifically. Leo followed with his eyes and his mouth thinned into a grim line as he realized what the problem was.
“Care to explain, you dolt?”
He laughed, surprising himself. There was…quite a bit of blood on the chair and floor around him. It didn’t appear that the towel he’d wedged under his thigh was very much help at all. “Uh, I was out for a run—”
“That was rhetorical,” he deadpanned. “Why didn’t you wake someone up? What if you just sat here and bled out in your sleep you idiot?” Even as he continued his lecturing, Raph pulled up the other chair and started to peel the very thoroughly soaked gauze away from the wound.
Leo hissed out a breath. The gauze was stuck. “I think I would have known if I was bleeding out,” he grumbled.
Raph grabbed a bottle of saline out of the med kit and doused the gauze. The moisture reconstituted the gobs of blood sealing it to the wound and allowed it to fall away. “No you wouldn't’a,” he growled back. “You just woulda died you fuckin’ moron.”
The clock read eight in the morning. Not an abnormal time to see Mikey, resident morning turtle, walking around, but it was pretty early for Raph. That also unfortunately meant he’d only been asleep for around three hours. Or…maybe unconscious was a better word for it.
“What happened,” Raph grumbled flatly.
Leo chuckled again. “I got ambushed by some Foot ninja. They helpfully announced their presence by shooting me in the leg.”
“I noticed that part, genius.” Raph closely inspected the injury, able to get close to it much, much easier than Leo had been. “It went deep, but the hole ain’t big. Don might yell at us later, but I don’t think it needs stitches. Just packing.”
He shrugged. “Sure.”
Raph’s eyes flicked up to him. “Could you wake me up next time, stupid? Ya scared the shit outta me.”
Leo opened his mouth to make a smart comment back, but suddenly found that what little energy he had must have been used up by the laugher. “Yeah, okay.”
Nothing else was said as Raph cleaned up the wound, stuffed it with some saline-soaked gauze, and wrapped it securely. Leo stood in front of the sink for a while, turning paper towels pink while he mopped blood off his leg. When that was all over with, he and Raph stood side by side and looked at the mess. The blood soaked towel was stuck to the chair, he was pretty sure, and the puddle on the floor was mostly coagulated too.
“Looks like a bitch of a clean-up job,” Raph grumbled.
“Shame. I think it’s Mikey and Don’s turn.”
Raph turned to look at him, brow shot sky-high. He put his hand on Leo’s forehead. “You feelin’ alright? I think you might be dying.”
He batted Raph’s hand away. “You know what, Raphael? What I want more than anything in the entire world is to lay down and sleep. This looks like a problem for either someone else, or some other time.”
Raph grinned slowly, then laughed. “Fearless, you are speakin’ my language.”
He slung his arm around Leo’s shoulders, at least in part to hold him up while he limped, and they started for the couch.
“Oh, one more thing.”
“Yeah?”
He tightened his hold. “You pull somethin’ like that again and I’m gonna make you wish you were getting’ shot in the leg again. Get it?”
He smirked. “Got it.”
