i woke up from a dream where we had to evacuate a plane and a flight attendant said “oh wait, we need to make sure people know who the captain is” grabbed me and started writing on my forehead with highlighter. and then the woman next to me was given a card that said 98F and she had to tape it to her head and the flight attendant gave her a thermometer and said “now you need to make sure your rectal temperature matches” and she nodded solemnly after which i woke up. what the fuck 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀

The fact that Ace Jr. looks up to Ace Rimmer this really makes Douglas Richardson from the original timeline insanely jealous that he never looked up to him.

Y favorite ship is DEFINITELY Marlas. Never shipped or written for a gay couple before but oh man (oh men?) did these two take me down the rabbit whole. I think they are soulmates, just what each other needs. In my head canon Martin gives Douglas the adoration he craves while at the same time already knowing all his faults. Douglas loves to take care of Martin, which Martin so needs/deserves but has never had. And Douglas is soooo good at being romantic that he never tires of doing things to convince Martin that yes, he Douglas Richardson, really does love Martin Crieff. Make that CAPTAIN Martin Crieff. And fanfics where Douglas gets a little jealous are my jam.

Cabin Pressure is funny because a running theme of the show is Martin asking Douglas why everyone always thinks Douglas is the captain, and never once does Douglas offer the most obvious explanation: the twenty or so years of difference in age between them

so it reads like this:

man in his early thirties: why do they always think you’re the captain :(

man in his late fifties, working in an industry where age typically correlates with rank: bc i have self confidence :)

Lister: "Before something bad happens, maybe it's best you listen to Holly; she knows what she's talking about."

Douglas Richardson: "How can we be sure you aren't going to harm him? We don't know you."

Rimmer: "We don't know who you are either, but that nervous breakdown your captain is about to have is not going to take care of itself. Whatever happens, just please don't tell us 'we didn't warn you.'"

Carolyn: "Another breakdown, that's exactly what we don't need."

Arthur: "Holly, what do you mean by breakdown?"

As Douglas tries to calm a very distressed and nervous Martin Crieff, the first officer concedes.

I’ve been binging Cabin Pressure during work and decided to do a quick sketch of Douglas and Martin... which turned into a not quite so quick pic of Douglas and Martin. 

For those of you who haven’t listened to Cabin Pressure, please give it a listen - it’s peak comedy writing in my personal opinion! 

I’ll get back to drawing Mando/Star Wars stuff very soon, but may squeeze in an Arthur and Carolyn first :D :D
