[ad_1] Sourav Ganguly director of cricket Delhi Capitals and staff pose for picture during the WPL Player Auction held at the ITC Gardenia Hotel in Bengaluru, India on the 15th December 2024 (PC: WORDSWORK Media) The Delhi Capitals (DC) will aim to break their final jinx in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) season, having been runners-up in both previous editions. With former Australian captain, Meg Lanning, leading the team, the squad is ready to roar once again. Before the mini-auction in Bengaluru, DC had four spots to fill, which they did by acquiring three young Indian talents and one foreign player. With their retained world-class, experienced internationals and a strong Indian core, this could finally be the year for Delhi to lift the prestigious trophy for the first time. Retained squad: Alice Capsey, Arundhati Reddy, Jemimah Rodrigues, Jess Jonassen, Marizanne Kapp, Meg Lanning (c), Minnu Mani, Radha Yadav, Shafali Verma, Shikha Pandey, Sneha Deepthi, Taniya Bhatia, Titas Sadhu, Annabel Sutherland. Shafali is expected to open again with Lanning, just like in the last two seasons. She has scored over 500 runs in T20Is this year but is currently not in the Indian squad, leaving many fans surprised. Jemimah will aim to stay consistent, as she has been performing well in different leagues and on the international stage. Capsey is known for her power-hitting and her ability to bowl a couple of useful overs when needed. Sutherland and Jonassen are two foreign all-round options, along with another legend of the game, Marizanne Kapp. This season offers a great opportunity for Titas, Delhi’s young prospect, to bowl alongside Kapp, Arundhati, and veteran Indian pacer Shikha Pandey. Shikha recently had an exceptional Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). Arundhati was India’s highest wicket-taker in the Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai and bowled a dream spell in an ODI against Australia. However, she was surprisingly dropped from the ongoing home T20I and ODI series against West Indies, leaving fans confused. In the spin department, Radha Yadav will be a key player with her excellent fielding skills. Jonassen is also available, but her inclusion might be limited due to the foreigners’ quota. As a result, Minnu Mani could be a handy option for Lanning. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Delhi Capitals’ WPL Season 3 squad (PC: WORDSWORK Media) New recruitments: Nandini Kashyap (Rs. 10 lakh), N Charani (Rs. 55 lakh), Sarah Bryce (Rs. 10 lakh), Niki Prasad (Rs. 10 lakh) Nandini Kashyap might be the steal of the auction. Her recent domestic performances have shown the X-factor in her batting, and getting her at the base price of ₹10 lakh shocked many fans. In the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, this wicketkeeper-opener from Uttarakhand was the third-highest run-scorer, amassing 247 runs in seven innings. She carried this momentum into the Senior Women’s Challenger Trophy, where she was the highest run-scorer. Representing India E, she smashed 332 runs in just five innings. The most striking feature of her T20 career so far has been her impressive strike-rate. In 12 T20 matches, she has batted at a strike-rate of 131.89, scoring four fifties and one century with an outstanding average of 57.90. Even in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy, she stood out by scoring 95 off 122 balls against Hyderabad. With Nandini, Delhi has secured an aggressive backup opener and a reliable wicketkeeping option for Taniya Bhatia. N Charani, a 20-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner from Andhra Pradesh, is an exciting prospect. She has already shown her all-round abilities in T20s. With the bat, she has a strike-rate of 131.65 in 11 innings, while with the ball, she has taken nine wickets in 17 innings at an impressive economy of 5.31. This season will be a great opportunity for her to learn from seasoned players like Jonassen and Yadav. Bryce, a 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Scotland, brings valuable experience with 58 T20I matches under her belt.
However, given the team’s current balance, she might find it challenging to secure a spot in the playing XI. Prasad, the current captain of India Under-19s, is leading the team in the ongoing Asia Cup in Malaysia. India are unbeaten so far and have secured the top spot in the ‘Super Four.’ Prasad has proven her mettle under pressure, especially in the recent Women’s U19 Triangular Series against South Africa. She is another promising young talent that Delhi has brought in with an eye on the future. Overall, with all bases covered, DC stands out as one of the top contenders this season. Fans are eagerly hoping that 2025 might be the year their favourite players finally get to lift the coveted trophy and bring glory to the franchise Overall Rating: 9/10 Also Read: Five game-changing Test partnerships for India in the last five years The post Delhi Capitals in WPL 2025 Mini Auction: Exciting young talents and strong core ready to break final jinx appeared first on Sports News Portal | Latest Sports Articles | Revsports. Renowned for his creative commercial endeavours at Decode Air Bar in Gurugram, Pahuja is also acknowledged for his relentless passion for cricket. This blog explores his path as a cricket fan, his commercial successes, and how he maintains his love of the game despite a hectic schedule.
Early Life and Cricket Passion
Growing up in the capital city, he was constantly surrounded by the active Indian cricket scene. Like many young lads, he dreamed of being big in cricket and spent many hours playing the game with pals in the neighbourhood. For him, cricket was more than a hobby; it was a passion driving his dreams and a life-learning tool.
Pahuja was regarded as his neighbourhood's "cricket enthusiast" when he was a young lad. Whether it was local events or international contests, his evident passion for the game was shown in his performance and following every cricket match. An early love of cricket set the groundwork for a lifetime obsession he now fuels.
Business Enterprises and Cricket
Pahuja's professional path brought him into the corporate sphere, but his love of cricket never changed. Having owned the well-known Decode Air Bar in Gurugram, he has become somewhat famous in the hotel business. Renowned for its original open-air idea and superb interior design, Decode Air Bar captures Pahuja's meticulous attention to detail and skill for crafting unforgettable events.
Pahuja never lost sight of his love of cricket, even if he excelled in business. He credits his commercial expertise much in part for the discipline, teamwork, and strategic thinking demanded in cricket. His entrepreneurial path has been much enhanced by the knowledge gained on the cricket pitch, including the need for tenacity and maintaining focus under pressure.
Managing the Stunners Cricket Team
Narendra Pahuja not only enjoys watching cricket but also plays the game enthusiastically. He proudly captains his cricket team, the "Stunners." The team has won several games under his direction, highlighting his strategic thinking and leadership abilities. Beyond only playing, Pahuja is very committed to mentoring new athletes and advancing the game in his neighbourhood.
Leading the Stunners lets Pahuja remain close to the game he enjoys and promotes friendship and teamwork. Frequent match and practice session organisation helps him and his team stay in shape. This regular involvement in cricket keeps his love of the game alive and provides a welcome diversion from his hectic business calendar.
Juggling Personal and Financial Interests
Narendra Pahuja's capacity to reconcile his personal and professional objectives is among his most commendable features. While running a profitable company like Decode Air Bar calls for a lot of time and effort, Pahuja prioritises physical activity and following his love of cricket.
Daily activities clearly show Pahuja's commitment to fitness. No matter how busy he gets, he sets aside time for regular exercises and cricket practice sessions. This dedication to being active and fit improves his performance in business and sports, benefiting his health.
Motivating the Young People
Many young people find inspiration in Narendra Pahuja's path as a successful entrepreneur and ardent cricket lover. He is convinced that one can succeed significantly in one's career without compromising personal interests. Pahuja shows that pursuing several hobbies and achieving them is possible by following his love of cricket alongside his commercial activities.
Often interacting with the young, Pahuja inspires them to discover and pursue their interests. He underlines the need to stay active, disciplined, and have a good mindset. His narrative is evidence of the belief that commitment and hard effort can produce excellent results in business as much as in athletics.
Future Approaches and Legacy
Looking ahead, Narendra Pahuja wants to keep expanding his commercial ventures while actively participating in cricket. Decode Air Bar intends to expand to other locations, introducing its exceptional hospitality experience to a larger audience. He also wants to plan more cricket competitions and events so young players can present their abilities.
Pahuja's legacy is about his moral standards and influence on others, not only his commercial success or cricket prowess. People are motivated to pursue their aspirations, put in great effort, and strike a balance between their personal and professional lives by his narrative. Patel had previously owned the Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL from 2014 to 2016 before he sold his stake and re-entered the CPL by buying the Tridents in 2019 from the Indian businessman Vijay Mallya, who was previously owner of the Royals Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Patel is also the owner of the Austin Athletics in the Minor League Cricket T20 competition.Badale has long held a desire to create a commercial enterprise for the Royals group by investing across T20 leagues in the world. In 2010 the Royals had announced a global alliance when they joined forces with Hampshire, the Cape Cobras and Trinidad & Tobago to form a worldwide T20 brand. That venture did not take off, but the Royals have remained on the lookout for such opportunities."The idea of creating a global network behind the Royals brand is something that we are keen to do for many many years, It was the opportunity too good to miss" Badale told ESPNcricinfo. "The IPL is only on our screen for a short period of the annual calendar. Secondly, it gives our fans an opportunity to follow Royals teams across the world and in different locations. Thirdly, from a cricketing perspective to trial new things."Badale said the CPL investment had the support of the RedBird Capital Partners, who recently picked up a 15% stake in the Royals' franchise in the IPL. The US-based RedBird has interests in the parent company of Liverpool and the Boston Red Sox. "They are hugely supportive of the Barbados acquisition."Nagraj Gollapudi is news editor at ESPNcricinfo Read the full article

[ad_1] Angkrish Raghuvanshi. It was a proud moment for Angkrish Raghuvanshi as he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai, against Tripura, after being handed the coveted cap by team captain and iconic Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane. Though the 20-year-old scored 28 and 6 in Agartala, he would be looking to take bigger strides when he takes the field for the future games in the first-class circuit. Coming from the stable of Abhishek Nayar, the current India assistant coach, and Omkar Salvi, Raghuvanshi has already made his mark in the Indian Premier League, playing an impactful role for Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning side last season. The Delhi-born youngster, who amassed 278 runs in six innings in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup, had smashed a stellar 27-ball 54 against Delhi Capitals on his IPL debut. As Raghuvanshi, tipped as a prodigal talent, looks to make his mark in red-ball cricket, for the most successful team in the history of Ranji Trophy – Mumbai – the youngster sat for a freewheeling interview with RevSportz. He talked about his first-class debut, the pressure of playing in high-profile games, Abhishek Nayar and Gautam Gambhir’s impact, learning from Mitchell Starc and other senior players, bonding with Phil Salt, playing for KKR in front of a packed Eden Gardens and much more. Excerpts: How was the feeling of making your Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai? Angkrish Raghuvanshi: Very proud feeling. Since I came to Mumbai when I was 12 years old, I have been only training and practicing to improve my game. It was dream come true to represent Mumbai in Ranji Trophy. When I got that cap, and that too from captain and legend Ajinkya Rahane, what could be a better feeling? When I got the cap, it was an overwhelming feeling. But when I went to ground, I was telling myself that it’s just another game. I have to win the match for the team. I have to put in the effort. You are just 20. How do you deal with the pressure? Raghuvanshi: The more I practice, and I can tell you my coach Abhishek Nayar has made me practice a lot, the more confidence I get that if I go to the game, I will do well. My goal, whether for Mumbai or for my club, or for my franchise, is always the same – what the team needs and how I can help the team win, that’s all I usually think about. It’s how I can help the team win. My goal for the Ranji Trophy season is that in every match, how can I contribute so that my team wins. You mentioned Abhishek Nayar. How did this bond start? Raghuvanshi: When I was 12 years old, I used to go to his (Abhishek Nayar’s) academy at Wilson College. So that’s when my relationship with him started. The tips he gave me, the things he taught me about the game and life, I found them very helpful. So, whenever I have a tough time or a good time, I share everything with him, and he helps me. Abhishek Nayar is known to be a hard taskmaster. What about his coaching style, especially with you? Raghuvanshi: I have undergone some tough training, but I think it was a blessing in disguise because the way he trained me in my childhood, whenever I went to the ground, it felt easy because of his ways of training. Sometimes while doing fitness, I told him stop, sir, stop it. Once he made us climb a 30-floor building through the stairs. He made us run from the 30-floor stairs of his building and said, if you don’t do it on time, you have to do it again. I felt that I was going to die. But I think because of his ways of training, my mental strength and cricket skills have increased. I thank him for that. Has such rigorous training helped your game? Raghuvanshi: Obviously, if you make your training hard, like he always tells me, every time you are practicing, get out of your comfort zone. I think if you keep doing that, repeating that, then you always have clarity and confidence in yourself that you can do tougher things. So, no matter who the bowler is or how fast he is bowling, how much the ball is turning, if you have that confidence that you can do hard things, it becomes easier for you.
Mumbai is a cricket-mad city, so is Kolkata. How was it to play in the City of Joy? Raghuvanshi: I had the best experience in my life in Kolkata, to play under such loving fans. I have very good memories of that city, I feel like all the fans were a family. They were backing us, supporting us, shouting for us, so I enjoyed it a lot. Angkrish Raghuvanshi with Abhishek Nayar. Source: X Abhishek Nayar was in that KKR dressing room, so was your Mumbai senior Shreyas Iyer. Did it help? Raghuvanshi: Very helpful. I feel that our dressing room was a very comfortable space. Whenever I wanted extra practice or wanted help with something in my game, I could ask without any hesitation. All the seniors and coaches would help me. I feel that when there is such a comfortable space, when you go to play a game, it helps. KKR last season was such a tight-knit group. Who did you bond the best with? Raghuvanshi: Phil Salt. I used to have a lot of fun with Phil Salt, the banter he used to bring during games. Even off the field with our football banters. The energy he used to bring, he used to keep the dressing room light and energetic. I felt very good with him. IPL is where talent meets opportunity. You get to learn from so many seniors. What was your biggest takeaway? Raghuvanshi: The biggest learning is the way they train, the way they carry themselves, their work ethic. After seeing all this, I felt that wow, if you want to become a legend like them, then you have to have a training and lifestyle like them. So, I learned all this from them. What about Mitchell Starc – the most expensive player in IPL history so far? Anything you learnt from him? Raghuvanshi: Yes! Keeping that focus is very important. I also went with the expectation that Mitchell Starc is the best bowler in the world, and when I saw his mannerisms, I understood why he is the best bowler in the world. His work ethic, the way he carries himself off the field, always thinking about his cricket, in the gym, mobility, nutrition, he used to practice with so much purpose. If I also want to become a legend like him in the future, then I will have to improve my work ethic. This is a very good lesson for me. If I want to become a legend, if I want to play with them, if I want to become better than them, then I will have to train harder than them. Gautam Gambhir played a huge role in KKR’s title-winning season. What sort of discussions did you have with him? Raghuvanshi: We, with Gautam sir, used to just talk about cricket, how can we win the next match, what are the weak points of the other team, how can we improve ourselves, so that we can defeat the other team. He used to tell us that whenever you go to play a match, think about how you can defeat the other team, and how you can keep your game at the best level. In his meetings, in his speeches, his intensity was always on this, to make your team win. Who is your cricketing idol? Raghuvanshi: My idol, growing up, it’s always been AB De Villiers, but now I like Shubman Gill’s batting. Your playing style does resemble Gill. Why him as your current idol? Raghuvanshi: This is a good question, because when I was a kid, Shubman used to come to Mumbai to practice in the KKR academy. When I used to see him, I used to think, ‘Wow! this guy has so much time against the fast bowlers. If I can emulate his batting, I can try to bat like him. I used to think, I have to bat like him, and if it was Shubman, what would he do?’ So, I think those similarities are visible because of this. Even now, you all know, he is one of the top batsmen in India. Hopefully, one day, I can play with him. He is my idol because I watched him so much growing up. I know how hard he works, and I would like to be like him. What is your dream? Raghuvanshi: To win trophies for India. Also Read: Can Virat Kohli turn it around in Australia? Top 3 Dangerous Teams in IPL 2020
In front of the thirteenth version of the Indian Premier League, we investigate all the sides and attempt to pick the most hazardous group, in view of the group piece, execution, and names we could wonder about.
In the previous twelve seasons, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have stepped their position usually. While the Chennai-based establishment has an immaculate record with regards to breaking through to the end of the season games, group Mumbai has lifted the prize a record multiple times. We should burrow somewhat more profound and check whether we could name one group that merits the pined for prize this time around.
Top 3 Dangerous Teams in IPL 2020:
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore have played three finals up until this point yet their prize bureau is as yet vacant. One of the most unique sides on paper, RCB have Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Aaron Finch in their positions. One of only a handful scarcely any sides that still can't seem to have a settled XI, group Bangalore's blowing away has been a worry the years.
They have held Dale Steyn and gotten Chris Morris, Isuru Udana, and Kane Richardson. The turn pair of Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar can keep the best of players in unlimited oversight. On the off chance that RCB get their blend directly in the underlying games, they could end up being a perilous side in the competition.

Mumbai Indians
Rohit Sharma and Co. snuck past Chennai Super Kings in a year ago's conclusive, fixing a one-run win. This time around, Mumbai Indians will be anxious to guard their title. They have roped in Chris Lynn, who could be wrecking on his day. In Nathan Coulter Nile, group Mumbai have a powerful back-up for veteran Lasith Malinga.
Surya Kumar Yadav is an underestimated star who has on numerous occasions demonstrated his grit in the money rich association. All-rounder Hardik Pandya offers group Mumbai a chance in the arm. The ostentatious cricketer is a match-champ and can turn matches in his group's kindness in crunch circumstances.
Jasprit Bumrah at his best can be a bad dream for the resistance hitters. Group Mumbai may lose some rest over the nonappearance of a rumored name in the turn office. Having said that, Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar can be amazing and in Jayant Yadav, they have a spinner who could end up being convenient in turn well disposed conditions.
Delhi Capitals
With a scramble of youth in the side, Delhi Capitals can unleash devastation in the current year's release. Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Prithvi Shaw are a portion of the skilled youths on the list.
The option of Ajinkya Rahane adds significantly greater steadiness to the crew. Group Delhi has a strong southpaw in Shikhar Dhawan while any semblance of Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, and Jason Roy loan greater validity to the batting division.
All things considered, Kagiso Rabada is the main deadly imported product. A crotch injury may preclude him this season and if that occurs, the Capitals should fall back to Ishant Sharma as their movement lead. The onus to rescue the difficult situation will be on veteran spinners Amit Mishra and Ravi Ashwin and the couple will shape a powerful group of four with Axar Patel and Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane.
