Researchers examined data collected from a total of almost 729,000 people aged 12 years and older between 2005 and 2017, including any prior-month cannabis use and any depression experienced over the previous year. By the final year of the study, about 19% of people with depression reported at least some cannabis use, compared with 8.7% of individuals without a recent history of depression. In 2005, about 10.2% of people with depression and 5.7% of individuals without depression used the drug. The proportion of people with depression who perceived cannabis use as risky behavior also fell from 41% to 17% during the study period, compared with a decline from 52% to 33% among those without depression, according to the report in the journal Addiction. "This perception of risk is decreasing more rapidly among those with depression," said Renee Goodwin of Columbia University in New York City, the study's senior author. "Those with depression who perceive little or no risk associated with use have a much higher prevalence of cannabis use, relative to those who perceive higher associated risks," Goodwin said by email. Current cannabis use was highest among people 18 to 25 years old with depression, at almost 30%, the study found. I answered them truthfully and passed,” Young said in a statement on his Neil Young Archives website. “Recently however, I have been told that I must do another test, due to my use of marijuana and how some people who smoke it have exhibited a problem.” According to guidance issued by US Citizenship and Immigration Services in April, an applicant who is found to have violated federal law on controlled substances, including marijuana, could be found to lack “good moral character” — one of the general requirements for naturalization. Can smoking cannabis really improve your sperm count? Repost @nowthisweed The unexpected finding that men with a history of cannabis smoking had higher sperm counts has been widely reported after it was published in a leading fertility journal. Harvard University researchers tested sperm of 600 men who were currently enrolled at fertility clinics and asked them about their previous drug taking, for the study published in the journal Human Reproduction. Around half of men had tried, or currently used, cannabis and the researchers found just 5 per cent had clinically low sperm counts, compared to 12 per cent of those who had never tried it. But does the drug really improve your chances of parenthood? How could it do this? The authors suggest that this could be a result of cannabis on the body's endocannabinoid system which sends chemical messages in the brain and has been associated with regulating fertility. But because of the way the study is designed, measuring patients past habits and current sperm count, they cannot tell what their sperm levels were before they tried the drug - and therefore prove whether it had any effect. 2.What other answers might there be? The study also found the cannabisuser participants had higher testosterone levels, the male sex hormone that plays a key role in behaviour and sperm production. INTERPRETATION

We used The lasso regression analysis  procedure to identify the best predictor  variables  measuring  the  GENERALIZED ANXIETY “S9Q1A”renamed “ANXIETY”  (our target variable), from a pool of 16 categorical and quantitative predictor,  wich are : age, gender, (race / ethnicity) Hispanic, White, Black, Native American and Asian. Alcohol use, marijuana use, cocaine use, AMPHETAMINE USE, OPIOID USE, SEDATIVE USE, and TRANQUILIZER USE.

. We have 41,353 observations used, out of the 43,093 observations read.we include the seed= 150 option   to specify a random number seed to ensure that the data are randomly split the same way if I run the code again. And the samprate command, tells SAS to split the input data set so we have 70%  (N=28947) of the observations are designated as training observations, and the remaining 30% (N=12406) are designated as test observations.

Finally, we used cvmethod=random, to use a K-fold cross-validation method with ten randomly selected folds, in which the first fold is treated as a validation set, and the model is estimated on the training data set using the remaining nine folds, and the model was validated using the test set. The change in the cross validation average (mean) squared error at each step was used to identify the best subset of predictor variables.

Of the 16 predictor variables, 11 were retained in the selected model. During the estimation process,

The Nicotine Dependence  ,sex ,sedative use  and alcohol use were, repectively,   the most strongly and netatively associated with the ANXIETY. The rest of the other predictor variables retained are in decreasing order of importance of association with Anxiety was as follows:
