Hey, I decided to lock myself in and spend couple of days on making subtitles for Charles' latest documentary with Canal+ where he flies in Rafale and *actually* controls it for a moment too! Not going to spoil it all, but if you can't watch it due to Canal+ being an arse, here it is: https://disk.yandex.com.tr/d/_rhkZRO3Qaweuw Ignore .sh files, I used them to help a bit with the translation, .srt files is what you need, these are subtitles in French, English and Russian, whichever one fits best. NB! My French is fine, but not perfect, so sometimes translations might be off, to top that I couldn't discern the speech through their radio line clearly, so, yeah, not all of it is perfectly correct. Plus I haven't edited the translations too much, they could've been more natural sounding, but the whole proofreading was already time-consuming. However, if you'd like to improve the subs, feel free to download the folder and edit them, you'd make us all a great service :)))

leaving aside the fact that Max is the only one for whom Charles wanted to give a reason of his choice, I always knew not to be wrong when I said months ago that as the years go by they are discovering to be extremely similar…

Some of my season 2 predictions:

At least one, if not more, of Marie Antoinette's children will be Fersen's but Louis won't care because he's not jealous suddenly (even though in season 1 he sends Fersen to America hoping he'll die, like Leonardo Dicaprio's Louis XIV in The Man in the Iron Mask)

The prostitute Louis XVI had sex with in season 1 will give birth and die a few years later, and the child will be brought to him, and she'll be named Ernestine and Marie Antoinette will selflessly adopt her

Orleans, who is now on a warpath because Marie Antoinette rejected him after he randomly attempted to sexually assault her when the writers decided to say 'fuck the characterization we've setup', will manipulate Saint-Georges into being revolutionary because why not, let's have another piece of media mess with Saint-Georges

Marie Antoinette will have an "I told you so" moment about the pamphlets coming back to bite the monarchy in the ass, because the show pretended she was wise and astute about them when in reality--and this is a not insignificant part of why her reputation went to shit--she didn't think they were a big deal until way way way too late. To her it was just "oh, the French don't mean it. It's just what they do."

Some really truly awful takes on politics leading up to the revolution, as apparently season 2 is meant to go to 1789. I mean, we're in for something. I don't know what. But something.

And who knows what else...

Isabelle? - Versailles S2E6/S3E4

A question/hypothesis for anyone on here who still thinks about Versailles:

So I was re-watching Philippe and Lorraine’s prayer meeting orgy from season 2, episode 6, the one where Isabelle ends up in the fountain. And there’s a moment in it where Lorraine and Montespan are together, and the dialogue is:

Montespan: Your little plaything seems to be enjoying herself.

Lorraine: Indeed. Oh, her. Delectable little creature, if you like that sort of thing.

Montespan: You’ve never sampled a maiden?

Lorraine: Used to be a hobby of mine, before I discovered the real thing.

Montespan: Well, I would have thought she was quite the challenge, even for you.

Lorraine then takes a big snort of powder, preparing himself, goes over to Isabelle, pushes a guy over to get to her, takes her by the hand and then pulls her after him, glaring at Philippe and very obviously doing it to make him jealous.

But we never see what happens next.

The next time we see Lorraine, he’s with Philippe, hanging around, totally naked, and Marie Therese walks in.

So, are we to take from that scene that Lorraine has sex with Isabelle? Or at least fooled around?

AND, (and here is the crux of my question)...

Is Isabelle the woman he references to Delphine in season 3, episode 4? 

Delphine: Have you been intimate with a woman before?

Lorraine: Of course. Many times. Well, once. Sort of.

Is it possible that fumbling about a bit with Isabelle was what he was referring to here?  I feel that such a personal admission of inexperience is definitely the truth, compared to what he said to Montespan, and Isabelle is the only example in the show pre-season 3 of him getting anywhere near sleeping with a woman. I think the ‘sort of’ could signal that he or she had had a change of heart midway through - and Isabelle was so innocent, I think that would make total sense.

BUT I also feel that it would be remiss of the writers not to directly reference it, particularly on Colbert’s part? His niece was hanging around with the biggest scoundrel at court, and she ended up dead at his orgy. I feel like, despite knowing Lorraine prefers men, he would have assumed something untoward happened, and said something?

Obviously we’ll never know, but I would be interested to hear your thoughts?
