Hiya! Dunno if you're the right person to ask, but since you seem to like Gyro Gearloose as much as I do, do you think that he should have a love interest? Now, I know most people ship him with Fenton and I know he used to have multiple girlfriends in comics (like Dana Data or Mathilda) but none of them were used afterwards (they were just one-shot characters I think) nor were really his "type" in my opinion. I remember some years ago, I had an oc that was supposed to be Gyro's "female counterpart" (like most of Duckverse/Mouseverse characters' love interests are) and a girlfriend but it kinda failed, I plan on redesigning her soon. However I've seem some people headcanoning him as asexual what I'm fine with, but I still think it would be a fun idea to imagine what his actual love interest would look like if it was canon
Hi! Yes, Gyro is one of my favorite characters. No, you've asked a good question since Gyro doesn't have a longtime love interest like Donald has Daisy. Usually many Gyro fans ship Gyro with male characters and not only Fenton but also Donald, Fethry, Gladstone, Mad Ducktor and others. Yes, I know that there are mostly disposable girls in comics, but in my opinion Gyro has a corresponding love of the opposite gender. And that he has his own love interests that have appeared more than once. In my opinion, they would be some of these characters:
Dickie Duck - Paperetta Ye Ye Dickie is a college girl in her early 20s and she is the granddaughter of Goldie O'Gilt from the Italian and Brazilian comics. Gyro is roughly between 25 and 30, but the two can really relate. Gyro is mostly kind to Dickie and seems quite shy. It was best shown in the comic strip Ducks on the Road where Gyro, Dickie and Daisy go on a tour of the USA playing music from the 1960s and 1970s and there Gyro and Dickie literally love each other. I think they would work well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Genialina Edy Son
Tumblr media
Most people don't know who she is, so I'll just say she's mostly a seamstress and fashion designer and the lead costume designer for Super Daisy (She-Venger or Paperinika). Just as Gyro serves Duck Avenger for gadgets and his costume, so does she for Paperinika. I think in an Italian comic (it's called Topolino) that she and Gyro love each other, so they really have similar personalities and I think they can relate together. And they are the same age if I'm not mistaken. She was created by Giorgio Cavazzano and that she used to be a student of Gyro around inventing gadgets and as I said before they can really be together.
Tumblr media
3. Unnamed female chicken from Sir Gyro de Gearloose episode from Ducktales 1987
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, her name is not known, but in my opinion she is also an excellent partner for Gyro. She only appeared once to get her toaster fixed but it ended up breaking so she was mad at Gyro whom she called Gyro "Gadget boy". Later when Gyro and Donald's nephews came back from medieval times she came to apologize and Gyro fixed her toaster and she gave him a bouquet of flowers as a sign of apology. Or was it the other way around, I can't remember exactly, but she's certainly a great partner for Gyro, but unfortunately she doesn't have a name, so she could be called anything.
4. Dr Sara Bellum
Tumblr media
Yes, that's her name, even before her namesake in the series The Powerpuff Girls and the same namesake in the Carmen Sandiego series. It's just that she's from Darkwing Duck and she's an extremely excellent scientist who is the head of S.H.U.S.H.'s research division and works for S.H.U.S.H. organization against F.O.W.L. She is also clumsy at times and her inventions go awry. Smart and stupid at the same time, but her desire is to win the Nobel Prize and she is really very pleasant. And somehow she reminds of scientists from the Far East who came to America. Of course she and Gyro never met or met except maybe in the Dangerous Currency comic (crossover Ducktales and Darkwing Duck comic), so I can't say for sure, but I definitely think she and Gyro would get along great and maybe Gyro would work for S .H.U.S.H. to have the opportunity to do so. Since I usually cross sometimes Darkwing Duck with Donald Duck as well as their characters so why not with Gyro with Dr. Sara Bellum. In my opinion, the same ideal pair, although more like my headcanon, but it depends how for whom.
5. Della Duck
It sounds twisted, but I can really make the two of them work. Granted, this was only in Ducktales 2017, where the two really didn't have a good relationship, considering Della was stuck on the moon for ten years and used Gyro's Black Licorice invention to survive and when she got back to Earth she was supposed to takes revenge but only one episode had Gyro almost attack Della (I think it's in the Timephoon episode but I'm not sure) so she fought back. Unfortunately, there was no interaction between the two of them in that series, but I could have made that couple work, even though I don't ship them. I'm wondering if Gyro is the father of Huey, Dewey and Louie from Ducktales 2017 since he took Della Duck's DNA and cloned them. Again this is purely theoretical and my hypothesis.
As for comic book Gyro and comic book Della, they get along very well, even Gyro managed to speak with Della Duck in a Dutch comic dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Donald Duck and his birthday. Although they didn't talk much, Huey, Dewey and Louie talked more with their mom, but certainly if Della Duck came back to Earth they could work together as a good couple, in my opinion.

That Gyro has other girlfriends, although I can't remember exactly what their names are and which one would be right for him. It's not a problem if Gyro is with an OC (original character) either, so it all depends on who you pair him with.
These are just my suggestions and my views as I see it. I hope I helped you and I apologize to others if this bothers them, this is just my opinion. I hope you are satisfied with my answers and if something is not clear to you, feel free to ask me. :D

witch hazel, aurora, neverland mermaids, and magic mirror
Witch Hazel:
First impression - I always thought she was a lot fun and one of my favorite parts of Mickey's House of Villains. Her whole segment is really fun classic Disney Halloween vibes, and I was always here for it.
Impression now - I feel the same way today, and I'm nostalgic for her. I wish Disney had used her more, tbh. She was such a wacky and entertaining character who would have made a great reoccurring character in the Mickey Mouseverse.
Favorite moment - When she's standing over her cauldron calling out ingredients for Huey, Dewey, and Louie to add to the pot and quoting Macbeth. There's just something so fun to me about a witch at her cauldron.
Idea for a story - Witch Hazel comes back next Halloween to make sure Donald isn't being stingy. Donald, wanting to avoid any repeat incidents, tricks her into going after Uncle Scrooge instead. Wacky hijinks with Witch Hazel and Uncle Scrooge ensue as sort of a marrying ground of the Trick or Treat Cartoon and the Mickey's Christmas Carol cartoon. Of course it ends with Donald getting some spooky comeuppance eventually after she gets done with Scrooge.
Unpopular opinion - I don't think there are any truly unpopular opinions to be had. But one opinion I have that I haven't seen anyone else say is that I don't like it when witches have buckles on their hats. It looks too "pilgrim-y" for my tastes, and I think her design would be better without it.
Favorite relationship - Her friendship with Huey, Dewey, and Louie is adorable, and I love how mischievous they all are together.
Favorite headcanon - She herself isn't evil or a villain, but she likes to hang out with villains for fun because they get her sense of mischief better. She and Mad Madam Mim are friends.
Aurora:
First impression - I always liked her and thought she was a beautiful princess, and her movie was always my favorite. She wasn't ever a favorite of mine, but I always liked her.
Impression now - You've actually opened my eyes to how special and great of a character she is. I always knew she was lovely, but you've made her come alive to me like never before! I wasn't ever above a little sneering at her during the era when Disney Princess discourse was a thing, but now I would never even think of looking down on this beautiful character :)
Favorite moment - I love that first scene in the cottage where Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather have to try to get her out of the house so that they can plan her birthday surprise. I love the sly looks that show that she knows that they're planning something, but she still indulges them anyway. It's sweet.
Idea for a story - I love the story idea of Merlin popping in at the good fairies' request to tutor Aurora when she was younger. Him teaching her and helping her to grow into the princess she becomes is just perfect.
Unpopular opinion - She's always in the top tier of Disney princesses. She tends to get some of the most side eye from critics, and I just don't think any of that is worth bunk. She's amazing and everything a Disney Princess should be.
Favorite relationship - Her and Phillip have a beautiful fairytale romance that I absolutely melt for every time. I also love her familial relationship with the Three Good Fairies too!
Favorite headcanon - I'm coming around to being quite fond of the idea that because Maleficent's curse said that she will be "beloved by all who know her," Maleficent actually does have feelings of love towards Aurora, albeit her twisted version of love. I think if they spent any time together after the film, Maleficent couldn't help but develop a fondness for the princess per her own incantation.
Neverland Mermaids:
First impression - I thought they were pretty and well animated, but I never really have give them a whole lot of though, tbh.
Impression now - They're one of the fun fantasy elements that make Neverland feel like such a vibrant and wonderful place.
Favorite moment - The one thing I always remember about them is the one mermaid saying "we were only trying to drown her" so innocently XD
Idea for a story - I feel like there has to be a whole beautiful underwater world in Neverland, and I'd love to see Peter Pan getting some magic that would let him breathe underwater so that they could bring him to their magical world and have an adventure down there to see what other magical creatures live in Neverland's waters.
Unpopular opinion - I don't really have much of an opinion on them tbh.
Favorite relationship - Again, not really anything relationship wise that I can think of.
Favorite headcanon - See my above idea of a beautiful underwater world that they live in.
The Spirit of the Magic Mirror:
First impression - I thought he was so cool and mysterious and such a fun part of the movie and its whole aesthetic. He was one of my favorite characters as a kid, actually.
Impression now - One of my favorite Disney Villain Henchmen. He's got such a spooky and ethereal vibe to him that he tickles my fancy. I also have loved him in the various supplemental Disney materials like the DVD menus and theme park attractions. He's just one of those characters who makes my imagination soar.
Favorite moment - When Grimhilde first summons him from the farthest space and he appears from within flames. There's something so mystical and cool about that whole effect :D
Idea for a story - I like the idea of one day he frees himself from the mirror and regains corporeal form, seeking to get revenge on Grimhilde for imprisoning him. And she must contend with facing him, and possibly having to turn to her enemies for help.
Unpopular opinion - I'm just gonna use this for all the Disney henchmen: he's better and more interesting than Kronk. Would much rather watch him than Kronk's antics any day.
Favorite relationship - I love the idea of him having a romance with Madame Leota from the Haunted Mansion. Two disembodied spirit heads manifesting in enchanted glass objects who can see all. They're practically made for each other!
Favorite headcanon - He is the spirit of Grimhilde's father sealed away inside of a mirror by her after she overcame his abusive hold over her. He's enchanted to obey her every whim now, letting her finally have the power in their relationship.

So, one of the (many, many) things I mean when I say I’m a Norse-obsessed nerd who gets way too excited whenever Norse mythology or Vikings are involved or even just mentioned in Disney Duckverse & Mouseverse comics or cartoons is that I love the DT2017 episode The Rumble for Ragnarok! to bits.
Asgard! Valhalla! Male and female dead heroes in Valhalla! Norse-inspired architecture! Impending Ragnarok! Vikings being crazy about wrestling, which is actually kind of weirdly fitting if you consider glima! Vikings having a sense of honor! Vikings hating overly greedy people! Beakley picking “the Shieldmaiden” as her stage name, and her costume having a winged helmet because it’s supposed to be over-the-top and kind of ridiculous and we clearly see nobody else in Valhalla wears anything like that! The person on the writing team who apparently has my same taste in mythical figures and, instead of whipping up Odin and Thor (whom I do love, too, but come on... you can’t always use them!) as usual, went, “Hey, guys, you know what would be cool? If Loki’s kids were loved and appreciated and had lots of admirers and weren’t cast away or tortured or killed!”...
Ahem.
Anyway, right after watching the episode, I already had my own headcanons about Jormungand and Hecka and Fenrir being siblings like in the myths. And about Fenrir really being the Biggest Wolf Ever but also able to transform into the Regular Wolf form we see in the episode and another, unseen Anthropomorphic Wolf form, yet preferring the Regular Wolf one during matches because the crowd loves the whole “good boy” schtick and it’s also useful to trick opponents into underestimating him. And about attitudes towards Ragnarok actually having shifted only fairly recently (for Norse standards) and Jormungand being really a pretty decent guy, just way too addicted to the crowds’ cheers and praise after millenia of being considered a monster and a harbinger of unspeakable doom, making him even more insecure and prone to get in over his head and lose control than Dewey and...
Ahem. So, anyway, some time after watching the episode, just for fun, I tried my hand at making my duck-ified versions of Loki, Angrboda, and Sigyn, to round out the family. Unfortunately I can’t draw, so I used the Ducktales: All Ducked Out game, which means my options in terms of body type, clothing, and everything else where pretty limited. So, basically, I just shrugged and went, “you know what? Since now Ragnarok is seen as a good thing but keeps getting thwarted, Loki has been freed and told to keep himself constantly available just in case the time for him to lead the Jotnar against the gods finally comes, though of course he’s still not welcome in Asgard. Which is fine for him, because he and Sigyn are running around Midgard looking for their sons, who have just been turned into regular, non-talking wolves and cast out in some area well-known for traditional wolf-hunting or something because this is Disney and also an embarrassingly self-indulgent AU. Angrboda helps them on their search, because I hate Sigyn vs Angrboda stuff and because I ship all three of them together, but generally she hangs out in Jotunheim and then she always watches her kids’ matches in Valhalla if she can make it, which means she’s the only one who still keeps to Norse style instead of adapting to Midgard fashions or mixing the two together.”
You know, normal things a normal person thinks about.
Anyway, here they are:
Loki:
Tumblr media
He’s meant to be some kind of hawk as a call-back to him borrowing Freyja's and Frigg’s falcon-cloacks on at least two separate occasions... though I’m sure it doesn’t come across that well. I would have liked to go for longer hair, but there weren’t that many styles available and I liked the two different colors thing this one had going on. If you pretend the second color is less pinkish and more reddish, it gives a kind of fiery effect --- and yeah, I know the fire association is actually pretty thin and likely more of a later thing, but it’s a popular thing and personally, I like it.
No, he’s not “Norse Satan.” He’s more like an ambiguously moral trickster who causes as much trouble as he fixes, is responsibile for the gods having a lot of cool stuff, is (equally or almost equally ambiguously moral) Odin’s blood-brother and Thor’s friend but eventually fucks up both relationships, and at one point fucks everything up so very, very, very badly that it starts the chain of events leading to Ragnarok.
Sigyn:
Tumblr media
A regular duck, to go with my long-standing headcanon that she’s a bit of a plain Jane but Loki and Angrboda love her because of her wit, passion, and unexpected chaos-loving side. I like to think her necklace was gifted to her by Loki when they were courting, and is the one flashy thing she’s always comfortable wearing no matter the occasion.
No, there is absolutely nothing in the myths about her being forced or tricked into marrying Loki or him abusing her. Sure, she is not happy with some of his actions and their consequences for both of them, but she voluntarily sticks with him and protects him from having acidic venom constantly poured all over him.
Angrboda:
Tumblr media
A big, strong, tough jotun woman! I’ve already explained about her sticking to her Norse roots, so I’ll just say that I didn’t have any ideas about what kind of bird I should make her. I actually kinda wanted to make her a dognose or something to emphasize how WEIRD her offspring with Loki is, but... whatever, guess she’s a duck, lol.
No, she is never named as Loki’s first or second wife, and she’s never connected to Sigyn in any text so there’s nothing about the two being rivals or hating each other. So I’m completely free to imagine she’s both Loki’s and Sigyn’s girlfriend. :)

How about some Donald Duck headcanon?
Donald met Jose and Panchito while participating in his high school's international exchange program. They deliberately went to the same college to hang out and start their college band.
Donald has babysat Max when Goofy couldn't get a babysitter. His experience babysitting Max is what gave Donald the courage to raise Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Donald won't hesitate to go into dad mode for any friend of his nephews or when he's given a babysitting job by any of his friends.
Donald can speak in various languages and even take up new ones like ASL.
Donald is slightly jealous that Mickey became a successful actor. But at the same time he's happy with how his own life turned out. He does however have bragging rights about being a happy uncle and father figure.
Donald has a small father/uncle or Duncle group. The members so far are: Goofy, Horace, Oswald, and Drake. All they do is just toss around parental advice at each other and once in a blue moon brag about who's the stronger of the kids.
When he's Duck Avenger/Paperinik, his main fear is not nephews learning about his superhero lifestyle. It's the idea they may follow him on his life threatening adventures. He's also known to chew out Darkwing Duck for "bringing Gosalyn along". Despite Darkwing straight up telling him she stowed away.
Submit a Duckverse/Mouseverse character and I'll give you my headcanons.

You may have discussed this, but what are your thoughts on Brittana's horoscope signs? In canon and/or Mouseverse. Thank you!
Hey, @gaylati!
Full disclosure: I know very little about horoscopes, and it seems like there’s a lot of conflicting information out there about what the common traits are for each sign and which signs are compatible with each other and whatnot, so if anything I say here doesn’t fit, I apologize.
Discussion after the cut.
________
So.
The truth is that, in canon, we really don’t get any concrete information about when Brittana’s respective birthdays might be, though we can infer based on the fact that they were both originally set to graduate in 2012 that—barring either one of them having been held back or skipped forward prior to Brittany’s second senior year—they were both likely born sometime between September 1993 and September 1994 (since September is the “cut-off month” to begin kindergarten in Ohio).
Brittany does mention in episode 3x01 that she is a “water sign,” and while it’s entirely possible given the context for the scene that she is just joking, if we take her statement literally, then that means she is either a Scorpio, Pisces, or Cancer, meaning that she could have been born between
October 23rd and November 21st, 1993 (Scorpio)
February 18th and March 20th, 1994 (Pisces)
June 20th and July 22nd, 1994 (Cancer)
We get no information in canon about what Santana’s sign may be.
My personal headcanon, based on my very limited understanding, is that Brittany is a Scorpio (and that’s what she is in the Mouseverse).
Having nothing else to base it on, and once again bearing in mind my very limited understanding of horoscopes, my personal headcanon is that Santana is a Leo (and that’s what she is in the Mouseverse).
I like the idea of Brittana’s signs being “complementary opposites,” water and fire.
Here’s my reasoning:
Brittany
Scorpios are known for having magnetic personalities, though they tend to conceal parts of themselves depending on the company. When making plans, Scorpios can be secretive. They are typically focused and intuitive in their approaches to problem-solving; loyal to friends and vengeful to enemies in their social relationships; manipulative when they want or need something; and protective when it comes to the people they love.
To me, Brittany possesses a lot of the above-mentioned Scorpio traits.
Brittany’s personality is most definitely magnetic. She’s the most popular girl in school, and, as we see during her senior class president campaign, people are drawn to her, even though they may not always understand what she’s talking about. Brittany can be funny, confident, outgoing, whimsical, etc., all of which are traits that attract people to her. She’s the kind of electric personality lots of people want to be and lots more people—including Santana, Artie, Rory, and Sam—want to be with.
Brittany can be secretive about her plans—like when she hides her relationship with Santana during early S3 and conceals from everyone her initial acceptance to MIT in S4—and chameleonlike in her approach to dealing with people, putting forward a different face, depending on with whom she’s dealing. To some, she’s silly and aloof. To others, she’s wise and philosophical. To many, she’s a riddle wrapped in an enigma. Very few people except for Santana ever get full access to “the real her.”
When Brittany sets her mind to solving a problem, she isn’t easily disuaded, as per what we see when she comes up with Project Unicorn to combat bullying at WMHS and goes to very elaborate lengths to reconcile Alma and Santana prior to the wedding. While she isn’t as plan-reliant as Santana is on the whole, she is singularly focused on the occasions when she does put plans into motion.
She is also highly intuitive. Though many people misread Brittany as someone with immature emotions, the truth is that Brittany is very emotionally mature and possesses a high degree of emotional intelligence. She understands what makes people tick—and especially Santana. That’s why she’s able to be patient when Santana emotionally flails throughout S2. That’s also why Brittany is able to respond so well to Santana’s emotional needs (“If you want me, I’m here”). Though Brittany also has the propensity to be logical—hello, big, beautiful math brain!—she most frequently operates in response to what feels right. She senses and perceives a lot more than people realize.
The “loyal to friends and vengeful to enemies” thing? That’s Brittany to a T. If you treat her and hers well, then she’s got your back. (See her relationship with Mercedes.) But if you treat her and hers poorly, then you’ve got another thing coming to you. (See her relationship with Rachel.) Though she has a reputation for being kind and friendly, make no mistake: Baby Girl can be petty af to those who cross her, making their lives hell in ways they don’t even see coming.
When it comes to being manipulative to get what she wants, I have two words for you: Sneaky!Brittany. Brittany uses people’s low expectations for her against them, conning and conniving her way to the top as it serves her purposes.
When it comes to being protective of those she loves, well, just look to her entire relationship with Santana but especially to the speech she makes to Alma in episode 6x06. Though Brittany often avoids direct conflict, she isn’t afraid to step into the ring when it comes to defending Santana and keeping her heart safe.
Santana
Leos are known for having a dramatic flare and deep-seated need for self-expression; occasionally being overbearing and stepping on the toes of those around them; and constantly seeking for love and approval. They are said to wear their hearts on their sleeves and be somewhat reactive. They are also known for being hopeless romantics and for their courage, kindness, generosity, protectiveness, and brutal honesty.
—which is pretty Santana, tbqh.
Aside from Rachel Berry, Santana is probably the most Extra™ person to ever Extra™. She loves performing—“Glee club is the best part of my day, okay?”—and shines when she’s on stage. One of her big motivations throughout the show is to “be seen as the star that [she is].” Baby Girl is happiest when she’s singing and dancing her heart out.
Self-expression is a huge thing with Santana. She’s “just gotta be [her].” As she tells her grandmother in episode 3x07, having to pretend to be someone she’s not drains her. Her arc on the show is all about learning to first accept and then express herself—and once she starts being honest about who she is, she never looks back.
When it comes to being potentially overbearing and stepping on others’ toes, look no further than to her relationships within the glee club: Santana is constantly giving “tough love” and saying more than she should, overstepping personal boundaries (like when she ransacks Hummelberry’s belongings after she moves into the Loft), going overboard in her schemes to influence those around her (like when she engineers a sting operation to take down Sebastian Smythe to avenge Blaine’s eye injury), etc. She can be A Lot™ sometimes, which is part of why she encounters so much relational friction with the New Directions over the years.
Seeking for love and approval? That is Santana’s main motivation throughout the show. Baby Girl just wants so much to love and be loved. It’s her be all and end all.
Santana definitely wears her heart on her sleeve and has a reactive temperament. She cries at the drop of a hat and also can’t help but break into the biggest, dimple-deep smile whenever she’s truly happy. Even when she pretends not to, the truth is that she feels a lot and feels deeply in spite of herself.
Hopeless romantic? Check.
Courage, kindness, generosity, and protectiveness? Check.
Brutal honesty? “I keep it real, and I’m hilarious.” Check.
Brittana
In terms of their compatibility, Scorpio/Leo unions are said to be built on intense connections, with both partners being extremely loyal to and protective of each other. Their dynamics typically have a strong sexual component. While early on, poor communication and a lack of emotional openness can cause problems, if both partners work through these issues and learn to disclose to each other, they can form a strong, healthy “us against the world” bond.
—which is a pretty good summation of Brittana, imo.
Intense connection? As they state numerous times throughout the show, Brittany and Santana consider their bond to be a once-in-a-lifetime, infinite, soulmate-level one true love. They both love each other more than anyone else in the world.
As discussed above, both of them are individually highly loyal to and protective of each other. They’re also both protective of their relationship. When faced with opposition, they join hands and form ranks, as is apparent when they both separately confront Kurt for disparaging their engagement in episode 6x03 and together face down Alma in episode 6x06.
Strong sexual component? They once popped a hip.
Early on, particularly during S1 and early S2, Brittana’s relationship does suffer from poor communication and lack of emotional openness. Santana says with her words that she and Brittany are just friends and nothing more, but her body language and actions toward Brittany suggest something different. Brittany wants for them to be able to be honest about what they feel for each other, but Santana forbids it. For fear of upsetting Santana, Brittany keeps her mouth shut. Santana’s unwillingness to acknowledge feelings coupled with Brittany’s fear of spooking Santana leads to angst on angst on angst and eventually the Brittana Rift of early S2. It is only after Santana finally confesses her feelings in episode 2x15 and Brittany starts speaking her mind during the Back Six of S2 that Brittana’s relationship finally improves.
—and once Brittana do learn to communicate with and emote to each other, their relationship becomes SOLID. While outside stressors sometimes scare them into reverting to their old, noncommunicative patterns between S3-S5, by the time S6 rolls around, Brittana have established an incredibly tight bond based on healthy disclosure and mutual respect. Just look at the hallway scene in episode 6x06: They talk through their feelings like adults and show each other so much love, even though they initially disagree. They’re constantly building each other up and offering each other support. “Flash forward, and we’re taking on the world together,” indeed.
So anyway, that’s my take.
Thanks for the question!

how do you think brittana would be as parents and how do you seem them raising their children?
Hey, @estellalovespip!
So if Brittana do end up having kids together, I think the biggest thing about them being parents is that neither one of them will ever take having a family for granted. They both know that had any number of things gone differently, they might never even have been able to be together, let alone to get married and have children. Consequently, they are thrilled to have made it through and to have so much love in their lives, and that “We are living the dream” attitude permeates their parenting.
More discussion after the cut.
_____
When it comes to individual traits, I think that, especially at first, Santana will be the more nervous mother—the one who insists that they go to urgent care every time their baby gets the sniffles and who sits up by the phone waiting all night when oldest kiddo has their first sleepover at someone else’s house (“Just in case, Britt”).
She’ll also be very affectionate, making damn sure that no child of hers ever has to wonder if her love is conditional. Particularly when her kids are infants, she’ll be very physically connected to them, loving to touch their soft baby skin and hair and marveling at the fact that she and Brittany are responsible for these perfect, little people.
As the kids grow older, she’ll want to talk to them about anything and everything that they are willing to confide in her. She’ll also take it very personally if anyone ever bullies her children or discriminates against them in any way. Though her children generally like knowing that Mama Bear has their backs, I think that—especially as they become teenagers—they might sometimes find her protectiveness embarrassing and it may become an occasional point of contention (especially as Brittany tends to be more chill about things).
Thankfully, I think that the older Santana gets, the more she’ll mellow and come to take things in stride, so she’ll eventually learn to rein herself in, even if her instincts are telling her to go all Lima Heights.
Ultimately, I imagine that Santana’s relationships with her children will be very sweet and that she’ll often find herself getting emotional just watching her kids do the simplest little things—like riding their bikes down the street or playing a saxophone solo in seventh grade jazz band—because there was a time not so long ago when she thought she might never get to live a life like the one she’s living, and she’s so glad that back then she was wrong.
As for Brittany, as a mother, she is going to be a calming influence. In general, she tends to be very even, and she doesn’t get flustered unless there’s something to get flustered about. When her babies cry, she’ll let them be sad as much as they need to, but she’ll also show them that she’s there for them and that they can rely on her for comfort—much like this awesome parent does. As they get older, her kids will trust that they can come to her with everything from skinned knees to failed spelling tests because they know she’ll handle it without freaking out too much.
Don’t get me wrong: They know that they can go to Santana when they need help, too. They just also remember that Santana once passed out when one of them had a severely bloody nose, whereas Brittany was like, “Tilt your head forward, pinch your nostrils, and put this ice pack on your face,” and then let them take a selfie of it so that they could show their friends at school the next day.
As her kids grow older, Brittany is going to love doing activities with them—driving them to a million different club meetings and sporting events, cheering them on from the stands, helping them with science projects and summer learning, building pillow forts with them in the living room, etc., etc., etc. Santana won’t even be able to count the number of times she’s come home to Brittany and the kids in the kitchen filling every bowl they own with homemade silly putty or out in the backyard setting up telescopes to catch an upcoming meteor shower.
Brittany’s kids are gonna know she loves them because she’s into everything they’re into and she supports their curiosity and is willing to help them explore.
The biggest area of conflict Brittany might have with her kids—especially as they grow older—is that they’ll get annoyed and/or embarrassed when she acts silly, particularly in front of their friends. Brittany’s sense of humor is not for everyone, after all, and people who don’t know her can sometimes take her the wrong way. Still, as in Santana’s case, I think that Brittany will learn to check herself and better follow the lead her kids give her so as not to embarrass them so much as time goes on.
After all, Brittany was once the coolest girl at WMHS, so she knows how to act cool when she needs to. Plus, she remembers how her parents used to embarrass her when she was the same age as her kids, so she gets where her kids are coming from, even if their reactions to her hurt her feelings a little bit.
In general, I think Brittana have a very loving household—not a perfect one (as no household is), but one geared towards understanding and support. There will be good-natured teasing and heart-to-heart talks, English and Spanish, music and math, pets running around, shrimp cocktails on birthdays and special occasions, and pop culture references galore. Their kids will never doubt how much they’re loved or how much their mothers love each other.
I’ve actually written a lot of fic about it, if you’re interested in what my Brittana-as-mothers headcanons look like in action:
“Into the Peace of Wild Things” (Mouseverse)
“The Good You Do All Measured Out” (Mouseverse)
“Sleep in Heavenly Peace” (Mouseverse)
“You Were Always Waiting” (Mouseverse)
“What Do You Know?” (Sugar from the Future fic)

hey! i've been reading your old ask replies religiously for the past couple days so i've gotta ask what some of you "random" headcanons are, like nicknames, maybe stuff abt britt's sister? i'll take basically anything lol
also, whats your general headcanon on what happened post “new directions” for brittana? bc the 5x20 “explanation” didn’t really explain anything & in 6x03 santana says they should start living together so what exactly do you think they had been doing up until that point?
Hey, @tryingtoohardddd!
So I wrote this little “fix it” patch that is basically my headcanon for what Brittana get up to between episode 5x14 and episode 5x20.
The TL;DR version goes as follows:
Between episodes 5x14 and 5x18, Brittana go on a ten month vacation because the Glee writers can’t keep track of their own timeline.
Despite what Brittany later says in episode 5x20, the girls do indeed make it to both Lesbos AND Hawaii as planned.
Brittana then return to NYC together circa the events of episode 5x18.
However, because Brittany is about 900000000% done with Rachel Berry the New Directions, she lays low while Santana interacts with them.
While Santana crashes at the Jones-Evans-Anderson brownstone, Brittany stays with some dancer friends who are attending Julliard.
During this time, Santana works at the diner while Brittany searches for a job of her own, the plan being that once they save up enough money, they can move in together. Unfortunately, Brittany does not have much luck on the job front.
Brittana see each other pretty much every day during this time, but they never let on to the other glee kids that Brittany is in NYC. Because the glee kids are the glee kids, they also never really ask Santana where Brittany is or what she’s doing or even how their vacation was.
Eventually, Santana gets offered a chance to star in another Yeast-I-Stat commercial. Mercedes also offers Santana the chance to sing backup on the Park and Bark tour.
Santana knows that between the tour and commercial gigs, she will make enough money to help her and Brittany rent their own apartment. Still, she is reluctant to leave Brittany for so long to go on the road.
Brittany’s solution is to finally reveal her presence in NYC to the New Directions and get Mercedes to hire her as a background dancer.
Cue the events of episode 5x20.
Brittana then tour around the US with Mercedes for about five months.
At the end of the tour, they either return briefly to NYC where they both live with Mercedes OR they go straight from their last tour gig back to Lima circa the events of episode 6x02. Take your pick.
Either way, they’re still in a place where they’re looking to finally move in together in New York—for the first time sans roommates—per their discussion in episode 6x03.
They remain in Lima as they prepare for their wedding, and then they move back to NYC once they are lawfully wife and wife.
As for random headcanons, I put a bunch of ‘em after the cut.
_______
So these are mostly Mouseverse, but you can wedge ‘em in to make them fit canon, too, if you like:
Brittany’s dad refers to Santana as “Santana-banana.” Santana always blushes at the nickname, but secretly she likes it because it makes her feel like part of the family.
Brittany’s dad calls Brittany “Brittany Sue,” which is something that of all Brittany’s friends only Santana knows.
Brittany has saved every card, note, and valentine Santana has ever given her over the years, and she keeps them in a secret box in her closet. During the events of S2 when Brittany is dating Artie and she and Santana aren’t really hanging out so much, she sometimes pulls the box out and reads through its contents and has a long cry because she just misses Santana so much, and she doesn’t know how to make things right between them. Of course, on a happier note, once she and Santana actually get together during S3, she has to get a bigger box because Santana is constantly giving her the sweetest love letters all the time, and her collection grows exponentially over the course of just a few months.
Long before she came out, Santana used to have a pretty massive crush on Brittany’s lookalike older cousin, who was a star on the women’s volleyball team at Bowling Green. Of course, Santana never framed her feelings as a crush. She just talked a lot about how the cousin was pretty much the coolest person ever and followed her around like a puppy whenever they were in the same place together. Brittany didn’t get why Santana was so obsessed because, in her opinion, her cousin was kind of boring and didn’t even have an interesting college major. Later on, after Santana is out and she and Brittany are dating, both Santana and Brittany look back on the situation and laugh because, holy shit, little baby gay Santana had it sooooooo bad.
Brittany’s little sister was born when Brittany was nine years old. In my stories, I never actually refer to her by her given name because Brittany and Santana call her mean nicknames like “runt,” “pint-sized,” “pipsqueak,” “brat,” and “rugrat” pretty much all the time. But her given name is Ashley Elizabeth.
Brittany’s sister secretly idolizes Santana and Brittany, but she never lets on that she does. Instead, she is typically snarky to them, much like Santana is to the New Directions.
Santana likes ketchup on her macaroni and cheese, and Brittany teases her for it because to her that’s super gross.
Santana sleeps on the left side of the bed. Brittany sleeps on the right. They’ve had their chosen sides worked out since long before they were ever officially a couple.
For as tough as Santana acts sometimes, she gets really scared at horror movies. Brittany never makes her watch them when they’re alone together—even though Brittany actually likes horror movies and is herself something of a buff—but sometimes when they’re at parties or hanging out in groups, they don’t have a choice. On the occasions when Puck decides to pop in a Freddy Krueger movie to fill out a Friday night or when someone has already got Paranormal Activity playing by the time they show up to the yearly Cheerios Halloween bash, Brittany makes a point to ask logistical questions about the movies from start to finish, pointing out plot holes as she does so (“Wait. Shouldn’t someone have found the bodies in the hospital where Jason left them? Why is that guy saying they disappeared?” “How come the demon in Regan freaked out if it was only tap water the priest sprinkled on her? Shouldn’t it have known it wasn’t holy water?”). She puts on a good show, pretending like she just genuinely doesn’t understand movie mechanics, and no one can really yell at her for asking, because, well, she’s Brittany. Still, everyone gets super annoyed because the continuity mistakes she’s noticing are real, and remaining immersed in the story world becomes intensely difficult once you know they’re there. Even though no one else appreciates her making it impossible to suspend disbelief as they watch, Santana is always grateful because Brittany’s questions help her to not feel so scared and to keep her street cred in public. Rather than getting hung up on killer clowns and vengeful ghosts, she can just laugh when Brittany points out obvious, glaring mistakes (“That’s right. God, these directors should hire you to check this shit”).
One of Santana’s favorite scents is sweetpea because that’s what Brittany’s body spray smells like.
Brittana have keys to each other’s houses. During S2 while Brittany is dating Artie, Santana wonders if she should give her key to Brittany’s house back, but ultimately she doesn’t because Brittany never asks for it. Brittany doesn’t mention it, but Artie never gets a key.
If you were to ask the glee kids, they would probably say pink or purple or even rainbow, but the truth is that Brittany’s favorite color is brown because that’s the color of Santana’s eyes.
Thanks for the question!

Hey, in your opinion what are Santana and Brittany's religious beliefs? Did their beliefs change once they learned about their sexualities?
Hey!
So as with most things that have to do with Brittana’s personal background, Gleeverse canon doesn’t really give us much information that could help us understand the girls’ respective religious beliefs.
While other characters on Glee—such as Rachel, Puck, Quinn, Mercedes, Kurt, Sam, Jake, etc.—make frequent and overt references to their religious beliefs or lack thereof, there are only a few times throughout the entire course of the series that Brittana’s feelings towards religion are even hinted at. Namely:
Episode 2x03 reveals that Santana (at least at that point in her development) doesn’t really see the harm in allowing the kids in glee club to sing songs with spiritual or religious themes, even though they attend a public school. It also tells us that when Brittany prays, she falls asleep. During the episode, Kurt’s disparaging and hyperbolic description of God causes Brittany to question if God is “an evil dwarf.”
Episode 2x08 shows both girls participating in the Barole wedding, which is officiated by a priest/minister of some kind. Though said priest/minister foregoes the traditional invocational prayer to begin the ceremony, Brittany nevertheless (true to her word) falls asleep during his incredibly brief introductory remarks.
Episode 2x19 has Santana imply that Brittany is her soulmate, perhaps suggesting her belief in the human soul.
Episodes 3x07 and 6x06 indicate that Santana’s abuela is religious—most likely Catholic—and that while she believes that homosexuality is a sin, Santana doesn’t share that particular belief with her.
Episode 3x13′s main Brittana storyline shows how the girls react when they become the targets of homophobic Christian students at their school. Both girls appear deeply hurt when anonymous objectors file complaints against them on religious grounds. Santana refers to these objectors as “Bible-thumpers,” and she directly challenges new Christian transfer student Joe Hart to deliver a singing valentine to Brittany on her behalf as part of the God Squad, causing him to have to reevaluate his beliefs. At the end of the episode, Joe demonstrates support for Brittana, as does the rest of the God Squad, an action which seems to mean a lot to Brittana, and Santana in particular.
Episode 4x14 depicts both Brittany and Santana attending Wemma’s church wedding. However, throughout the course of the episode, neither girl really comments on the wedding venue.
Episode 6x06 has Brittany say that Santana reminds her of heaven and includes an elaborate fantasy sequence in which Brittany appears as an angel, singing about her love for and devotion to Santana.
Episode 6x08 shows that Brittana don’t themselves get married in a church, though it remains unclear to what extent that decision reflects their feelings on organized religion, as they seem to have chosen their barn venue somewhat on a whim.
When it comes to parsing Brittana’s religious convictions, that’s about all the evidence that we get from the show. From this evidence alone, I think we can make just a very few inferences about Brittana’s beliefs. Namely:
Neither girl is explicitly atheist or necessarily opposed to organized religion, a la Kurt. However, they are opposed to people using religion to excuse intolerance and promote discrimination.
Neither girl is overtly religious, a la Mercedes.
Neither girl believes that homosexuality is a sin.
In general, both girls seem to come from culturally Christian backgrounds, as they celebrate Christmas and seem familiar with concepts like prayer, angels, heaven, etc.
Brittany’s views on religion and God are perhaps flexible, considering how the differing opinions expressed throughout episode 2x03 give her pause to think.
Santana’s abuela is religious, suggesting that Santana comes from a religious family background. However, Santana does not herself seem to share in all of her abuela’s religious beliefs.
Both Brittany and Santana seem fairly comfortable with other people expressing religious views in public as long as those religious views do not directly disparage Brittana themselves and/or LGBTQ people in general. When persecuted by others in the name of religion, Brittana will stand up for themselves and challenge their persecutors to reevaluate their belief systems. Overall, as long as religious people seem cool with them, then they seem cool with religious people, but when religious people object to them or their relationship, they take issue.
Since we can only draw up a handful of inferences about what Brittana may believe and how their beliefs could change over time, I think there’s a lot of room for personal interpretation on the subject. There aren’t a lot of right or wrong answers here, so headcanon pretty much reigns.
My personal Mouseverse headcanon that I work from in my fics is that while Santana comes from a long line of staunch Catholics and her abuela is highly devout, both she and her parents are more secular.
Though Santana was baptized as an infant and went through confirmation when she was a kid, she did so mostly at her abuela’s behest, and she never really feels a strong conviction for herself.
She and her parents attend Mass on Christmas, Easter, and a few other days throughout the year, but they’re not regular churchgoers, and they almost never go in for confession, much to her abuela’s distress.
Of course, low church attendance and lack of confession notwithstanding, their family is still culturally Catholic, which is part of why Santana is so nervous to come out to her parents during S3. There is a prevailing sense in her home that some things are right in the eyes of God and some things are wrong and that the Church holds at least a degree of moral authority, even if its precepts are at times archaic and she and her parents are seldom there come Sunday afternoon.
Based on what she knows about her parents and their loose Catholicism, she is fairly certain that they have the capacity to accept her. However, she also fears that maybe in this one regard, they’re more traditional than she knows. The uncertainty makes her nervous because what if her sexuality is something that they consider sinful?
She is very relieved when her parents embrace her after she comes out to them.
She is likewise devastated when her abuela doesn’t.
She had hoped that her abuela’s love for her would take precedence over her her abuela’s belief in certain Church doctrines, but, obviously, such wasn’t the case, at least not to start out with.
As for Santana’s personal convictions, she doesn’t necessarily subscribe to the traditional Catholic notions about God as a father with commandments for His children. She believes that God is love, and she is never deeply committed to any organized religion. For a while after her abuela disowns her, she feels unwelcome in the religion she was raised in, but after she and her abuela reconcile, she is able to return to holiday Mass and feel at peace there, even if she questions her overall place in the belief system.
Throughout her life, she remains sensitive to people using religion as an excuse for homophobia and as a rule keeps her guard up around any new religious people she meets until they’ve proven themselves capable of respecting her and her relationship with Brittany (see episode 3x13).
Deep down, I think she secretly hopes that someday the Catholic Church will change its stance on homosexuality and become more welcoming to people like her and Brittany.
When she sees devoutly religious people like Mercedes and Sam—who, though not Catholic, still come from conservative Christian backgrounds—being completely supportive of LGBTQ causes, it gives her hope for the future.
In her heart, she knows that she’ll probably never be super religious herself even if the Church doctrines are changed. Still, she doesn’t want anyone to have to go through something like what she went through with her abuela. She wants people not to have to choose between religion and love.
With Brittany, I think that she comes from a very liberal extended clan of Episcopalians, though her immediate family is—perhaps even more so than Santana’s—secular and almost never attends church.
Because Episcopalians generally welcome LGBTQ people in their community and have done so for a long time, Brittany never has to reconcile her family’s religious views with her sexuality. Her being bisexual is a nonissue to her parents, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. They’re totally supportive of and even enthusiastic about her relationship with Santana.
On a personal level, Brittany’s nonnormative thinking plays into her religious beliefs. Throughout her life, she has heard so many contradictory statements about God that she finds it impossible to reconcile them all except in a mathematical way: to believe in the concept of the infinite.
To her, that concept is as much a feeling as it is an idea, something close to love mingled with gratitude—a concept which @venuscomb explores beautifully in this fic.
Though Brittany sometimes attends church weddings, she is, like Santana, not devoted to any organized religion.
I tend to think that once Brittany and Santana are married, theirs is not a particularly religious household, though they certainly would permit their child(ren) to be religious, if that were something the child(ren) wanted to pursue on their own, and they do celebrate traditional Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter, albeit in a more secularized way.
For more discussion on Brittana and religion, I’d highly recommend the Brittana U Spritual Lecture series by @gleedcanon.
Thanks for the question!
