Steps to a Custom Walk-In Closet Design in California
Creating the perfect walk-in closet design in California is a dream come true for many. Here are the essential steps to achieve a custom walk-in closet that blends functionality and style seamlessly:
1. Space Assessment: Begin by assessing the available space in your California home. Measure the dimensions of the room and consider the layout. Think about what you want to store in your walk-in closet, from clothing and accessories to shoes and more.
2. Personalized Design: Work with a professional closet designer in California who can craft a personalized design that suits your lifestyle. They can help you maximize the space, ensuring every nook and cranny is utilized effectively.
3. Storage Solutions: Choose the right storage solutions for your needs. California closet designers often offer a range of options, from shelving and hanging space to specialized compartments for jewelry, belts, and ties. Customize your storage to keep everything organized and easily accessible.
4. Material Selection: Select materials that match your style and the overall aesthetics of your California home. You can choose from a variety of finishes, from classic wood to modern, sleek designs.
5. Lighting Enhancements: Proper lighting is essential to make your walk-in closet in California feel inviting and functional. Consider installing LED lighting or even a stylish chandelier to create the perfect ambiance.
6. Decor and Personal Touch: Add your personal touch to the design by incorporating elements like a full-length mirror, a cozy seating area, or artwork that reflects your style and personality.
7. Maintenance: Finally, remember to keep your walk-in closet well-organized and clutter-free. Regularly edit your wardrobe and ensure everything has its designated place.
With these steps, you can achieve a custom walk-in closet design in California that not only meets your storage needs but also adds a touch of luxury to your daily routine. Your closet becomes a reflection of your personal style and an organized haven for your belongings.

Only 5 days left in the 1980s
December 26, 1989. Tuesday. Espresso Cafe, Modesto, California
So, only five days left to āfeelā the 80ās. Ā Who om I now? For once out on the great āseeā of the 90ās, which will rush more and more quickly toward the raging head waters of the next century, our little peace pool of time here will be long gone. Itās chance for seeing through compulsion is lost. So, as in place, sometimes in time we find ourselves at the crossroads . Ā So, what do ya do with it? You back off from the bigger, major world to allow that calling to come through. Which is what Iām doing today. So, what am I after these crazy 80ās? Well, really and truly, what I am is simply truer, deeper version of what I was.
I held many mirrors up to my face Ā in the 80ās in dark rooms so I could seeā
The mirror of marriage, of private law practice, of 3rd year law student, of the bar exam, of new attorney, , of law firm attorney, of public defender
In a mirror, one sees what one is and what one is not.
Ā The image of the money seeker did not appear, nor did that of the loving partner and father, nor did that of the well dressed beauty or of the world traveler. All of these came up, filtered in and melted away in the heat of their own reflection. In times like today, I hold the mirror up to see these images gone or greatly reduced.
And, who looks back?
Me.
Who was looking out on 12/31/1979? And who, after all these years, is still looking out?
A lover of life. A lover of active tear paper art. A lover of deep fault line need to be, to know,. A lover of great pain juxtaposed to great beauty. A lover of fight for truth in his own way. Through the courts in word, deed, action. Through holding melting hands and whispy hearts that form solid images, more solid than any flesh and blood.
I see a sweet repository of the now brittle yet fragrant petals of flowers once full, now withered.
I apply my fire time and time again and am rewarded with a fragrance bittersweet that wonāt die but enhances all life it touches.
I see a clearer image of the healing power of the word
ānoā.Ā
I see guts, and bravado and gaudy humor and touch of Devine scarlet self pity.
I see an expanding of the love of the pauseāof the listen.Ā
I see others, too, in the mirror.
Ā Not so much in a line, like in ā79 or invisible, but, more in a circle all with darks and lights that interlock or donāt here and there but form a union and unity just the same..
And, ya know, I truly believe that there aināt much I gotta do. I t just lives itself through me. Guess I just got to ease up Ā and let it live, laugh, dance, cry, scream, be , create, waltz through me!
End of entry

In the 1980ās I married a woman, woke up to the fact I was gay, left the marriage before we had children. I worked with people with Aids and helped them through their illness and death through an organization called Han to Hand and another called the Stanislaus County Aids Project. I wrote in coffee house like Espresso Cafe and I journaled through the entire decade.Ā

kindof losing my mind bc uhhhh. how am i supposed to like. afford to live.
#i am going to whisper in the tags bc i feel odd about YELLING my bs into the void#i do not have a job yet largely due to physical and mental disabilities#but when i DO start searching for one its like. 90% of online job listings out there are ghost listings#basically none of them hire disabled people and i have disabilities that REQUIRE accommodations#my job search is significantly narrower bc of my disabilities theres a ton of shit i just straight up cannot do#and they all pay about 1 ball of lint & two quarters.#i live in california which thankfully is (relatively) safe for me to transition#but its also. California. which is. Expensive. to live in.#and i have medications i NEED to be a functioning person monthly#on top of taking T at some point#so like ummmmm. chat am i fucked!!!!!!!!!#i could leave california but where do i even go thatd be safe for me AND affordable#its just so hard to get motivated to be independent right now when like. im 18 years old and i can barely walk anymore#im grieving my physical ability at 18 years old#i should be doing that at 70#and everything costs So Much theres no fucking shot i find anywhere in california i could afford IF i can even FIND a fucking JOB I CAN DO#unless i wanna live with my mom forever (who is constantly wearing on my mental health and i DESPERATELY need some distance from)#or live in a literal closet for $2000 a month#what if i have to sacrifice my meds to pay rent i literally am not a functioning human without them so i 100% could not work while off them#idk shit looks so fucking bleak for everyone right now but being disabled makes it a hell of a lot worse#i used to be excited about being independent now i just kindof dread it. or it seems more like a pipe dream#i dont wanna live with my mom til im 25 yall#and transitioning is expensive. and my mom is not going to cover my medical bills lmfaoooo#and idk whats going on with my physical ability so im probably going to have to pay for more doctors appointments#and tests and TESTS AND TESTS#for possibly years#til they figure out what the fuck's wrong#just not excited to live in poverty bc i am a young person in america and basically every young person in america is living in poverty atm#and also not excited to live in a world where i walk with a cane at 18#original
