Cadillac Ranch in Armarillo, TX, obviously on a very windy day. Strike that off my bucket list!

Amarillo Armadillo
Backtracking to talk about Texas.
All across Oklahoma and Texas I kept calling Amarillo, Armarillo. Finally, Kevin called me out and was all like why do you keep calling it Armarillo??? It’s Amarillo. I have no idea why. I know in my brain it is Amarillo, but can’t help but call it Armarillo. I am pretty sure it is because of all of the dead armadillos I have seen on the side of the highway since Oklahoma. So armadillos are on my mind.
We rolled into the Fort Armarillo, I mean Fort Amarillo RV Resort pretty early in the day. It is a good thing as the storms rolled in about an hour after we settled in.
We ate a great steak at a local steak joint.
Then we went to the Cadillac Ranch which is a Route 66 staple.
We made our first legit breakfast. It was delish!
Texas is big. Everyone wears cowboy boots so Kevin felt right at home. Everyone was also very friendly. I like Texans.
Lots of wide open farm land in Texas. Lots of windmills. Apparently, a cattle farm was right near our RV campground as we smelled it the entire time. At first we feared something was wrong with our black water system, but alas we realized it was just the Armarillo air.
Good night from the big state of Texas. Tomorrow we reach our first reservation destination of Santa Fe, NM where we will spend the next three days exploring, sitting in the hot springs at Ojo Caliente, and climbing the rock caves of Bandelier.
