Anyways, I’ve been thinkin about Rook Island religion. I mean, Citra is essentially a cult leader without it ever being said she’s a cult leader. The Rakyat following her are in a cult. But the implication is that the religion is preexisting, and even if it WASN’T you also have to consider the fact that Citra is like, only around 30, so in the time she’s been ruling it would theoretically be a bit difficult to construct a whole religious community without some kind of basis. Rakyat religion IS already an established thing, even though we barely know anything about it. I do wonder, though, what was the process of her warping it into what she saw fit like? To a certain degree, from what we see the core beliefs never changed, it’s just that she took what was most likely your average metaphorical religious story and tried to carry it out in real life in an attempt to create the “Warrior” which said story depicts. I wonder if that’s the only one she latched onto, though. I mean, was Rakyat religion always intended to center one particular person as their overall leader? Or is it the classic cult situation where someone takes the concept of preaching and steadily makes it all about themselves, tying in following them with following God, saying of course God is your great leader, but you also must listen to me, for I am his messenger. His ONLY messenger. I feel like the latter is most likely, but also it’s kinda free game on how you want to interpret how the cult worship was established on Rook considering. They didn’t tell us. Like, anything. They didn’t tell us at all how that worked. Pissin me off you’re telling me I’ve had an interest in the psychology of cults since elementary school where I watched that one TEDTalk of a cult survivor, and then years later I get attached to a piece of media involving a cult, and then they DON’T ELABORATE AND MAKE ME DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?! Man I can’t have SHIT IN THIS FANDOM 🤬🤬🤬
