Is Coaching Necessary for Class 12?
The 12th-grade academic session is one of the very critical ones in a student's life. The pressure for performance is very high since board exams are conducted during this year, along with added pressure for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, or CUET. Most students and parents usually ask whether it is necessary to teach for 12th grade? Can students take charge of their learning, or do they need a third party to guide them in their pursuit of learning?
In this blog, we look into the merits and demerits of coaching 12th-grade schooling, if it has a contributory role in the academic success of students, and if it's necessary or an alternative.
12 Classroom importance It is necessary to understand first why Class 12 is so important before heading into whether training is necessary. Performance in board exams shapes most learning for the students, and this year it is more so for students who want to join professional courses like engineering, medicine, and law. Competitive exams after Class 12 further underscore the impetus to do well this year.
But what happens is that students shoulder the burden and risk of balancing school work and entrance exam preparation. Generally, future work depends on the outcome of such crucial tests.
12 Benefits of Classroom Training
Controlled Learning Environment Perhaps the most important advantage of joining a training course in Grade 12 is that the learning environment is structured. School curriculums are broad in scope covering all subjects; however, there never seems to be enough hours in school to examine each topic fully. Training institutes offer a well-structured curriculum that matches school curriculum and competitive examination requirements.
Under such a plan, the student keeps abreast of his studies in order not to fall back behind the class. 1739
Competent and experienced faculty Another crucial advantage of training is to get experienced competent teachers. Teachers in training centers are often experts in their fields and have spent years preparing students for board and competitive exams. They are familiar with testing techniques, common pitfalls, and important issues commonly found in tests.
These expert guidelines can be very priceless, mainly for topics like physics, chemistry, or mathematics in which the students may encounter difficulty with tough reasoning and strategies of problem-solving.
Personal level management of stress and uncertainty Many such training centers keep the batch size relatively small so that proper attention can be provided to the trainees. Where in a school classroom, for example, one teacher has to take care of a large group of students, training courses demand a tremendous amount of one-to-one interaction. Students may approach their teachers with questions and clear out all their doubts early, which is all the more essential for strengthening conceptual understanding.
This is usually the basic management of debate at most training centers. Such sessions would help the students clear all their doubts and then understand the same stuff thoroughly before moving on to more advanced material to be dealt with.
Regulation of the student's performance with regular supervision Evaluation tests, including mock tests, are integral to the preparation for Class 12. These serve as an opportunity for students to check up on their understanding and prepare themselves for the pressures of the real test. As training centers simulate exam-like situations, the time management skills of students are developed and anxiety during exams is reduced.
It also provides for detailed feedback after each test so that the student can indicate areas of weakness and areas that have room for improvement. Such is not always the case in schools, although what exists is smaller and less stringent assessments.
Advanced textbooks An institution of training usually delivers pretty well-equipped learning materials to the students. These materials comprise short essays, practice problems, and even the question papers of previous years. Mainly designed to prepare students for board exams and competitive entrance exams, these materials often cover important topics in a focused manner than conventional textbooks.
Quality learning materials ensure that students are able to research effectively, try the problems, and hence boost confidence as they approach their examination.
Motivation and peer learning The study process with peers who are very serious will be very motivating. The training centers bring students together who are serious and highly interested in excelling in their exams, creating a great positive learning atmosphere which fosters healthy competitiveness in the face of studying amongst the students. Students can learn from one another, share their study tips, and encourage others to pay attention.
In addition, those teachers in training centers often act as mentors, providing emotional support and motivation during stressful times before exams.
Challenges of 12th-grade training Despite the advantages, training has some disadvantages. The disadvantages of 12th-grade training include:
Time management Most students find one of the biggest dilemmas of attending training as time management. Between schooling, attending classes and self-study, students may have a tight schedule for. These can cause burnout, and some students may even not cope well with the demands of schooling and training.
Effective time management will be required to work out all these commitments without sacrificing mental and physical well-being.
Financial burden Training classes are pretty cost-prohibitive, and therefore, not every family can afford them. Even though many training institutes are good for quality education, their fees become a huge financial burden for families when the student is also preparing for a competitive exam that requires further training in itself. Before training, a family would be wise to sit down and review the budget before entering a training program, ensuring that the benefits really outweigh the cost. Overuse of training: Sometimes, students become dependent on the coaching institution to such an extent that they do not even know how to work alone. While coaching does guide students, its role places the burden of responsibility on the shoulders of students to learn freely, to gain freedom, and to assume full responsibility for learning. Over-reliance on coaching could lead to bad effects in the long run, when the student himself has to face the challenges in college or in future work.
Is training essential for everyone? Grade 12 needs are different for the student. While some do much better in the well-structured learning environment that is school and can learn largely on their own by supplementing with online courses or self-directed learning to fill in the blanks, others may need as much assistance as possible, and the only thing that training lends is through reputation.
Some things to consider when you're trying to figure out if you need training:.
Learning Style: Some students prefer more facilitation and a structured learning environment, while others prefer to be more independent in managing their learning without any external help.
Academic Performance: Those with consistent academic performance in the classroom may not need tutoring services, while those that frequently struggle in certain areas may appreciate supplemental help.
Objective: All students who are preparing to take extremely competitive exams in NEET, JEE, or any other vocational course are going to hugely benefit from the training due to the effort needed to prepare themselves.
Self-discipline: Those students who are able and can motivate themselves, as well as are self-disciplined, will also be able to achieve their learning objective without needing the services of tutoring.
Conclusion: Is training necessary for Grade 12? This is not to say that it must be rendered to every Grade 12 student, but something that they may require according to their needs as learners and as individuals. For example, if a student needs improvement in his mathematics skills during his advance year then tutoring is necessary, else good for him.
Lastly, it is tutoring that can really be seen as providing the real hard work and grit from a willing student who can be disciplined. That student genuinely wants to succeed at the board exams and competitive entrance exams will become a fantastic asset for a tutor. A student, however, who believes that he can handle his own learning is not going to need tutoring at all.
Decisions about which training options one would consider or pursue should come from a need of oneself, with attention to what would contribute toward the academic success and long-term goals of the student.

While CUET PG may not require legal reasoning, DU LLB focuses heavily on legal principles, case laws, and constitution-based questions. Dedicate specific days to building legal aptitude by reading basic legal texts, practicing case analysis, and solving legal reasoning questions.
7. Revise Regularly
Revision is essential for both exams. Use short notes, flashcards, and summary sheets to quickly revise key concepts. Focus on weak areas and revisit topics that require more attention.
8. Maintain Mental and Physical Health

This decision comes in light of the delayed results of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET-UG), which has left thousands of aspiring students awaiting their fate.
CUET-UG Results Delay
The CUET-UG, introduced this year by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, was meant to streamline the undergraduate admission process across central universities. However, technical glitches and procedural delays have led to a setback in the announcement of results. This delay has significantly impacted the timelines for admissions at universities like JNU and DU, where the academic calendar depends heavily on the CUET-UG outcomes.
Impact on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
JNU, known for its rigorous academic programs and diverse student body, has been forced to postpone the start of first-semester classes for its undergraduate programs. The university administration cited the uncertainty surrounding CUET-UG results as the primary reason for this decision. Students who have applied to various undergraduate courses at JNU are anxiously awaiting clarity on admission procedures and commencement dates.
Delhi University's Response
Similarly, Delhi University, a prestigious institution attracting students from across the country, has faced logistical challenges due to the CUET-UG results delay. The university administration has decided to postpone the beginning of UG first-semester classes until further notice. This move aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission process, aligning with the delayed release of CUET-UG scores.
Student Reactions and Concerns
The postponement of classes at JNU and DU has sparked mixed reactions among students and parents. While some appreciate the universities' cautious approach in awaiting CUET-UG results, others express frustration over the prolonged uncertainty. Many aspiring undergraduates had planned their academic year around the expected commencement dates, leading to logistical challenges and emotional stress amid the delay.
Administrative Challenges and Next Steps
Both JNU and DU are actively working with the Ministry of Education and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to expedite the release of CUET-UG results. The universities are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for admitted students once the scores are officially announced. Meanwhile, they continue to communicate updates and guidelines through their official websites and communication channels to keep applicants informed.
Future Outlook
As the higher education sector navigates the complexities of standardized testing and admissions reforms, stakeholders emphasize the need for improved coordination and efficiency in conducting nationwide entrance exams like CUET-UG. The current situation underscores the importance of robust infrastructure and meticulous planning to avoid similar delays in the future, ensuring minimal disruption to academic calendars and student aspirations.
Conclusion
The decision by JNU and DU to postpone UG first-semester classes reflects their commitment to maintaining integrity and fairness in the admissions process amidst challenges posed by the CUET-UG results delay. As students await clarity on their admission status, the universities remain focused on providing timely updates and support. Moving forward, collaboration between educational institutions, government bodies, and testing agencies will be crucial in addressing logistical hurdles and enhancing the efficiency of national-level entrance exams.I hope this article effectively covers the topic regarding the postponement of UG first-semester classes at JNU and DU following the delay in CUET-UG results. CUET PG Physics Exam Pattern 2025: Everything You Need to Know for Effective Preparation
If you’re preparing for the CUET PG Physics exam in 2025, understanding the exam pattern is crucial for effective preparation. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for Postgraduate (PG) programs is conducted for admission to postgraduate courses in various universities across India. The Physics exam tests a candidate's knowledge and understanding of key concepts in physics, along with analytical skills required at the postgraduate level. Here’s a comprehensive guide to the CUET PG Physics exam pattern for 2025.
Overview of CUET PG Physics Exam Pattern 2025
The CUET PG Physics exam typically consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), designed to assess candidates' grasp of core concepts and their problem-solving abilities. The paper is divided into two main sections: Section A focuses on general aptitude, and Section B covers subject-specific knowledge in Physics.
1. Exam Duration - The total duration of the exam is 2 hours (120 minutes). This is generally sufficient for candidates to go through all the questions, provided they have prepared adequately and manage their time effectively.
2. Number of Questions
- The paper consists of 100 questions in total.
- Section A typically contains 25 questions focused on general aptitude, logical reasoning, numerical ability, and basic analytical skills.
- Section B includes 75 questions on core Physics topics such as Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, and other fundamental areas.
3. Marking Scheme
- Each correct answer awards 4 marks.
- For each incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted (negative marking). This makes accuracy important, as random guessing can lower your overall score.
- Unanswered questions do not incur any penalty.
This marking scheme requires careful attention to avoid guesswork on difficult questions. A strong understanding of each topic can help maximize your score without risking negative marking.
4. Total Marks
- The exam is graded out of 400 marks (100 questions x 4 marks each).
Key Topics to Focus on for CUET PG Physics
A successful preparation strategy should revolve around understanding the primary topics that are likely to appear in Section B of the exam. Based on previous years, the following topics are considered crucial:
1. Classical Mechanics – Newtonian mechanics, conservation laws, rotational motion, and oscillatory motion.
2. Quantum Mechanics – Wave-particle duality, Schrödinger equation, quantum states, and atomic structure.
3. Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics– Laws of thermodynamics, entropy, heat engines, and statistical distribution.
4. Electromagnetism – Maxwell’s equations, electric and magnetic fields, AC and DC circuits, and electromagnetic waves.
5. Solid State Physics – Crystal structure, band theory, semiconductors, and superconductors.
6. Nuclear and Particle Physics – Radioactivity, nuclear reactions, elementary particles, and fundamental forces.
7. Mathematical Physics – Vector calculus, differential equations, complex analysis, and linear algebra.
Knowing these topics thoroughly, especially the ones with higher weightage, can make a significant difference in your performance.
Tips for Success in CUET PG Physics Exam 2025
To excel in the CUET PG Physics exam, consider incorporating these strategies into your study routine:
1. Create a Study Schedule
Break down the syllabus into manageable parts and allocate time to each topic. Prioritize areas you find challenging, and regularly revise topics you’re more confident in.
2. Practice with Previous Years' Papers
Solving previous year question papers gives insight into the question pattern and difficulty level. Additionally, practicing with past papers helps improve time management skills and identifies areas where more focus is needed.
3. Focus on Conceptual Understanding
Physics is a subject that requires strong conceptual knowledge. Instead of rote learning, try to understand the underlying principles of each concept, which will enable you to tackle application-based questions confidently.
4. Take Mock Tests
Mock tests simulate the actual exam environment and can help boost confidence. They also provide an opportunity to apply time management strategies, so you’re not rushing through questions in the final minutes.
5. Revise and Practice Regularly
Regular revision helps reinforce your understanding of complex concepts. Focus on formulae, derivations, and frequently occurring problems in each topic to keep them fresh in your mind.
Benefits of Understanding the CUET PG Physics Exam Pattern
Having a solid grasp of the CUET PG Physics exam pattern allows candidates to prepare strategically, prioritizing high-yield topics and managing their time effectively. Knowing the pattern also reduces exam anxiety, as you’ll know what to expect on the test day. Moreover, understanding the distribution of marks and negative marking scheme helps you decide when to attempt a question and when to skip it, minimizing unnecessary risks.
Conclusion
The CUET PG Physics exam pattern for 2025 is structured to assess your foundational knowledge in physics as well as your problem-solving abilities. By focusing on the primary topics, practicing with previous year papers, and honing time management skills, you can approach the exam with confidence. Start your preparation early, stay consistent with revision, and use practice tests to track your progress. 3 Common Mistakes to Avoid in IPMAT Preparation
If you are planning to appear for the IPMAT exam, then you must know that it is one of the most competitive entrance exams for management courses in India. The Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for admission into its five-year integrated management program. With the increasing popularity of this exam, the competition has also intensified, making it crucial for students to prepare strategically and avoid common mistakes. As someone who has gone through the IPMAT coaching in Bhopal, I have observed some common mistakes that students tend to make while preparing for this exam. In this blog post, I will be discussing the top three mistakes that you must avoid in IPMAT preparation.
1) Neglecting the Quantitative Ability Section:
The IPMAT exam consists of three sections - Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA), and Logical Reasoning (LR). While all three sections are equally important, students often tend to neglect the QA section. This is because they assume that since they have studied mathematics in school, they will be able to ace this section easily. However, the reality is quite different. The QA section in IPMAT is designed to test your analytical and logical reasoning skills rather than just your mathematical knowledge. Hence, it is crucial to practice and familiarize yourself with the different types of questions that can be asked in this section. Neglecting the QA section can significantly impact your overall score and chances of getting into a top IIM.

2) Not Practicing Time Management:
Time management is a crucial aspect of any competitive exam, and IPMAT is no exception. With only two hours to attempt 100 questions, time management becomes even more critical. Many students tend to spend too much time on a single question, leaving them with less time for the remaining questions. As a result, they end up either missing out on some questions or making silly mistakes due to the time pressure. To avoid this, it is essential to practice time management while solving practice papers and mock tests. This will help you get a good idea of how much time you should spend on each question and improve your speed and accuracy.

3) Not Referring to Previous Year Question Papers:
One of the biggest mistakes that students make while preparing for IPMAT is not referring to previous year question papers. Previous year question papers not only give you an idea of the exam pattern and difficulty level but also help you identify the important topics and types of questions being asked in the exam.
