AcSIR – Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Summer Training Program 2020 

Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) invites applications for its Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Summer Training Program 2020. Detailed information on Summer Training Program is given below:

Summer Training Program at AcSIR provides an opportunity to spend one of your summers working at premier research Laboratories of CSIR with some of the leading scientists in India, in an environment which promotes trans-disciplinary research.

The program is supported/ funded by AcSIR through its AcSIR-Kalam Fellowship.

FELLOWSHIP DETAILS

Total number of Fellowships: 20*

Duration: Two months; Between the months of May and August

Amount of Fellowship: Rs. 25,000 per student for the duration of the program (payable after successful completion of the training program and submission of project report to the Laboratory Coordinator)

Travel allowance to the selected student: Reimbursable to a maximum of Rs. 5,000 per selected student

This is a compulsorily Residential Program where the selected students would be required to stay on campus of the respective CSIR Labs on charge basis.

WHO CAN APPLY?

First-year of M.Sc program or equivalent: minimum first-class at pre-M.Sc degree level

Third to pre-final year of Integrated M.Sc program or equivalent: GPA 6.0 on a scale of 10 (upto IV Sem)

First-year of M.E/M.Tech program or equivalent: GPA 8.0 on a scale of 10 OR GPA 7.0 on a scale of 10 for CFTIs at B.E/B.Tech level or GATE Score ≥600 or NET (Engineering) Rank from 1 to 100

Third-year of B.E/ B.Tech program or equivalent: GPA 8.0 on a scale of 10 OR GPA 7.0 on a scale of 10 for CFTIs (upto IV Sem)

Third to pre-final year of Integrated M.E/M.Tech program or equivalent: GPA 8.0 on a scale of 10 OR GPA 7.0 on a scale of 10 for CFTIs (upto IV Sem) or GATE Score ≥600 or NET (Engineering) Rank from 1 to 100

SELECTION PROCESS

The screening will be primarily based on a Research Proposal and other screening criteria decided by the Committee.

An applicant can give five preferences of CSIR Labs/Institutes.

Shortlisted applicants will be intimated electronically

Selection Interview will be held at a central location. Appearance at the interview is mandatory for consideration.

The applicant may be allowed to participate through electronic media for an interview (Skype etc.) under specific requests.

Selection is purely based on merit/ performance at the selection interview.

Food and lodging arrangements shall be made for applicants called for interview only.

Admission to NIAB Research Scholars Program – III

Applicants are invited to appear for a walk-in-interview for the NIAB Research Scholars Program 2019- 2020 (RSP-NIAB III-2019) at NIAB, Gopanpally Campus, Hyderabad on 12 & 13 of Dec 2019 from 10 am to 6 pm.

NIAB is an autonomous and premier institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The Institute aims to develop and harness novel and emerging biotechnological tools and applications and take up research in cutting-edge areas for improving animal health and productivity as well as contribute to human health and welfare.

NIAB’s current research interests include

Host-pathogen interactions and pathogenomics

Next-generation vaccines, diagnostics, adjuvants and drug delivery platforms

Nutrition, metabolomics and metabolic disorders

Genetics and genomics

Gene and protein engineering

Reproductive biotechnology

Eligibility and Selection Criteria: Individuals desirous of seeking admission to RSP-NIAB III 2019 must have a Master’s degree in any branch of Life Science (M.Sc., M.Tech., M.V.Sc., or M. Pharm).

Candidates must also have secured CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/INSPIRE NET JRF/UGCRGNF or any other national research fellowship for 5 years. Having a fellowship is mandatory for consideration.

The terms and conditions, fellowship amount etc. will be governed by the awarding funding agency and further subject to the rules and conventions of the Institute. Those admitted as Research Scholars could be registered for Ph.D.

Selection Procedure: Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria can directly appear for the interview with complete Curriculum Vitae along with originals and photocopy (1set) of all the documents in proof of their academic credentials, fellowship details and age.

Candidates must make their own arrangements for any travel/boarding and lodging.

No TA/DA will be paid by NIAB for attending the interview.

NIAB reserves the right to accept/reject applications or candidature or admission in case of any discrepancy observed at any stage.

The CSIR NET exam for December 2019 session has been successfully conducted on 15th Dec 2019. After completing the exam, aspirants who appeared in the exam must be seeking for the CSIR NET Result and the cut-off.

The result has been declared on 15th January 2020. But CSIR NET Cut Off marks are not released by the official till now.
