Fuck i hate how the Nats have looked at the American healcare system like 'yeah I'd like me some of that!' In full awareness they'd be profiting off it (I have to assume give how blatant slef interested they are) and there's a strong chance they be reelected. Fully don't know how ill be able to talk to my dad (nat supporter) if the Healthcare system is privatized (which it almost certainly will be if the Nats get in). And I know if I decide I don't want to spend time someone who's either a.) Too foolish to not relalise that's what they're doing (and blame labour for it while it happens) or b.) So self-interest they don't give a fuck about anyone else let alone the quality of life of their kids the rest of my immediate family won't talk to me either for not being willing to tolerate opposing viewpoints. They've fully done this with transphobic people (he was alsomisogynistic and extremely racist, but bc im trans ofc the reason I couldn't stand him was only his transphobia and I needed to get over it. And 2/3 of them are IJ THE FUCKING HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
I can barely afford a (heavily subsidized) gp rn, and I have to get every 6 months or so for my hrt. I'm very scared I just. Won't be able to afford hrt and I don't think I can survive off it. And that's just the personal shit, because the collapse of the Healthcare system is already widening disparities between majority and minority groups. Also hearing aids are already unaffordable even with my csc card, I genuinely can't imagine being able to afford them not only unsubsidized at all but also. The price hiking that will occur. I'm very scared for the future right now.
Idk how to deal with the uncertainty and fear of wether we're going to have A FUCKING HELTHCARE SYSTEM in 10 years time, and it feels like the people around me are just. Pretending it's not a possibility. And acknowledging it means that I'm pessimistic and therefore a part of the problem for the people I'm living with.
And the worst part is that the transparently self interested corrupt fucking arseholes driving this are never going to feel any of the consequences and will never answer for any of it.
#Having a real bad start to the day folks#Sorry about the vent I need to put this somewhere or I'd explode#Or yell at dad but I am unfortunately. Reliant on my parents for a house rn.#So yeah.#And like. Hope for the future is fundamental for making sure it'll get better#But also fuck it's a slog atm#Gonna go for a run play a bit of zelda and then spend time with my gf before dnd ig

How to Get Your Labourer's CSCS Card in London
Are you interested in starting a construction career or working on a construction site in London? One of the first things you'll need is a Labourer CSCS card. This certificate is required for entry to construction sites throughout the UK, ensuring that workers have a basic awareness of health and safety measures. But how do you obtain it?
With SafetyMark Training, we'll lead you through the entire process, from knowing the card's principles to holding it in your hand. Let's look at why this card is important, how to earn it, and how SafetyMark Training may help you along the path.
What is the labourer's CSCS card?
The Labourer CSCS Card is an entry-level qualification necessary for construction workers, particularly those performing general labor jobs, including site preparation, material handling, and helping skilled personnel. The card certifies that a worker possesses the necessary knowledge to perform safely on a construction site. This includes being aware of common dangers and understanding how to mitigate them in order to create a safer work environment.
Quick Tip: The Labourer CSCS Card is green and normally valid for five years. Building projects throughout London accept this important qualification.
Why is the labourer's CSCS card important?
If you intend to work in construction in London, obtaining a Labourer CSCS Card is essential for various reasons.
1. Access to construction sites.
In many circumstances, a Labourer CSCS Card is required to gain entry to large construction projects. Employers, contractors, and site managers require proof of qualification and adherence to health and safety regulations from all workers. Certain websites may not allow you to enter or work without this card.
2. Health & Safety
The Labourer CSCS Card guarantees that construction workers are aware of important health and safety procedures. This card serves as a means to demonstrate your understanding of the dangers associated with construction work and your ability to mitigate these risks for both yourself and your coworkers.
3. Improved Employment Opportunities
Many construction companies, especially in London's competitive construction industry, require employees to have a valid CSCS card. Possessing this card can significantly boost your employment prospects. It demonstrates that you are serious about your position and committed to following safety guidelines.
Requirements for Obtaining the Labourer CSCS Card
To receive your Labourer CSCS card in London, you must fulfil a few conditions. Here is what you should do:
1. Pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test.
Before applying for the card, you must complete and pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test. This test covers many construction site safety subjects, such as identifying and mitigating risks.
Handle hazardous products safely.
Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Follow site-specific safety standards and emergency procedures.
The test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and you must score at least 45 to pass. You can take the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test at a local test centre or online. Prepare for the test ahead of time to ensure you understand the material.
Quick Tip: Have you already passed the CITB test? If so, you are one step closer to receiving your Labourer CSCS Card!
2. Apply for the card.
After passing the test, you can apply for a Labourer CSCS card. The application is quite simple. Here's what you have to provide:
Please provide evidence of your CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test results from the last two years.
Provide personal information such as name and address, as well as a passport-sized photo for the card.
3. Get your labourer's CSCS card.
Once everything is in order, you will receive your Labourer CSCS Card. This card is valid for five years, after which you must renew it. To renew, you must pass the Health, Safety, and Environment Test again and submit a new application.
What Are the Advantages of the Labourer CSCS Card?
Obtaining a Labourer CSCS Card is more than just compliance; it is also about positioning yourself for success in the construction sector. Here are some of the main benefits:
Job Opportunities.
A valid Labourer CSCS Card grants you access to a variety of building sites and career prospects in London. Many construction firms require workers to hold the card in order to meet safety and regulatory criteria. It serves as your entry point into or advancement within the construction industry.
2. Workplace Safety
The card tells employers that you have received sufficient health and safety training, which is critical for reducing workplace injuries and accidents. A safe working environment is crucial in the construction business, and the Labourer CSCS Card demonstrates that you have the knowledge to contribute to it.
3. Professional Recognition.
Having a CSCS card enhances your professionalism and credibility. It demonstrates that you are serious about your work and have taken the necessary steps to advance your qualifications. This can also lead to career growth prospects in the future, particularly if you opt to upgrade to a more specialised CSCS card.
4. Compliance with regulations
Construction sites in London and throughout the United Kingdom frequently require all workers to have a CSCS card. Without one, you may be unable to access certain websites, limiting your ability to work. Having the card confirms that you follow the industry's legal and safety standards.
Quick Tips for Your CSCS Application.
Prepare for the Health, Safety, and Environment Test. Prepare by studying the content ahead of time and taking online practice tests.
Don't wait too long. When applying for a CSCS card, ensure that your CITB test results are still valid. The results must be from the past two years.
