I am dead fucking serious when I say I wish I saw more fat women in public. I want to see fat models. I want to see fat women in department stores getting absolutely HYPE when they find racks and racks of clothing in their size and sizes up, so they too can get the "oversized, baggy fit" like women who fit into smalls and mediums. I want to see fat women wearing crop tops proudly and rocking mad midriff. I want to see fat women trying on clothing for their friends and family and saying "look! it compliments my body shape! it's like it was made for me!" I want to see fat women with "cankles" wearing pretty jingling anklets skipping and jumping just to show them off. I want to see fat women on TV, in magazines, on billboards, in all manner of ads, and in online shop images because I want to see my fucking self and all the women I know who don't see enough of themselves. I want to see fat women living, loving, and being visibly proud of who they are because they are beautiful, WE are beautiful. I want to see fat women because fat women need to see other fat women.
#buddydolly#fat women#btw this includes transwomen#anti fatphobia#fuck diet culture#not to mention it's my size and everywhere I go the racks are mysteriously barren of 2x clothing#this blog is and always will be pro-trans#ditto for fat men but make your own post I don't ID as a man#side note: I'm going fucking insane because there aren't as many stores that specialize in plus sizing where I live anymore#average american woman isn't ''5'10 and wearing a medium''#average american woman is about 5'4 wearing a 2x#you know how I know?#because I looked up the stats and that's the size stores run out of most quickly#but there's never a shord of smalls mediums and even EXTRA SMALLS#fucking ridiculous#and this shit isn't getting bought so it goes on clearance for dirt cheap#because it's all in sizes most women could never even HOPE to fit into#it's a fucking waste of material#y'all will bitch and moan and complain ALL FUCKING DAY about how fast fashion is the scrouge of the earth#but you don't bat an eye when big fashion houses don't make their clothing accessible for people of all sizes and shapes#being skinny isn't couture you just have different body type#and honestly you're a fucking lazy ass designer if you can't design for fat bodies#tag commentary#mobile post so the tags are fucked and out of order slightly sorry#anyway respect fat women#✌️ bye

Lane Bryant was founded in New York in 1904 as a shop for standard-sized women. When a pregnant customer asked the proprietor, Lena Bryant (the bank officer who opened her account had misspelled her name), to make a "presentable but comfortable" dress for her, it was the first commercially available maternity dress.
When measuring her customers, Bryant realized the need for clothing for those who needed larger sizes than those usually available. So she began to stock them, and the first "plus size" clothing was available. Business boomed. It became a chain, which now has 448 stores in 46 states.
The ad on the left appeared in the NY Times in 1923 and the one on the right in 1925. I like the line, "If you are not slender." Better than "stout" or "plus sized."

Chic Quack T-shirt
This T-shirt design shows a stylish duck wearing a cute vest and tie, giving off a fun and classy vibe. The playful phrase, “I don’t give a duck,” adds a humorous touch. It’s a great mix of fun and fashion, making it perfect for anyone who loves to express their personality with a lighthearted twist.

some concept designs for PYWWR Yasuke, or Yakiko.
She 100% steals her clothes from her Ultimate Drag Queen bf, she does NOT care if they are baggy. Free clothes is free clothes (Ryo is so happy that she's wearing his designs, he puts stuff he doesn't like (and doesn't fit properly) in his closet just for her <3)
#PYWWR#When you're bf has a whole ass clothing store in his closet#Gave her a skirt bc there is NO WAY hpa is letting her wear pants#Kyoko doesn't get that privilege and her dad is the headmaster#They HATE women#scarposts

One would think that one would eventually get over the distress and upset of getting a piece of clothing that says it's your size and looks amazing on the rack/the mannequin only to try it on and realize that your body makes it ugly, but one would be wrong.
#chit chat#logically i know this isn't my fault#the clothing is designed either for a different body type or just to look good on a hanger#but truly is there a worse experience than standing in front of a store dressing room mirror#under shitty florescent lights#to find out that nice things aren't made FOR YOU#usually i only have this issue when im wearing women's clothing#but today it happened with a shirt from the men's section#and rhesus fucking rhist raggy#im gonna start embracing ancient fashion and just wear rectangles draped in interesting ways#fuck this dumb ass modern fashion#i feel like this needs some kind of trigger tag but idk what#negative#body negativity#idk

i know my body is doing its best but christ alive.
#keeping it fun and funky fresh#personal#i need a chronic illness tag#i've been doing frankly a lot better in the past week+ bc we got an upstairs window ac#and we've been keeping the house air conditioned bc even tho it gets cool overnight it is incredibly humid all the time (70-90%)#and the ac units take the humidity out from indoors as well as keeping things a consistent cool temp for me#but today i painted so i aired out the house all day. and. it was a mistake.#i feel fucking miserable. i could not get comfortable At All All Day.#also like. i haven't talked about this but i've gained quite a bit of weight in the last 2 years & especially the last 6 months#(being completely sedentary d/t chronic fatigue will do that to ya)#and so a lot of my clothes fit weird and feel bad and i haven't replaced them yet bc i still don't rly know how to shop#for clothing for trans women. especially bc a lot of those clothes are thrift store finds that Happen(ed) to feel good on me#and today i happened to be wearing underwear that i didn't realize were among the no-longer-comfy and the waistband would not stop rolling#and then it'd get pinched between my stomach & my lower abdomen and chafe horribly especially w/ how sweaty & sticky i was#it was just awful. it was just awful. i finally turned the ac back on even tho it's only 70° outside#bc i couldn't stand being in the (currently) 80% humidity anymore#and grayson helped me take a sponge bath after i broke down crying#and now i feel a little better but i'm just. tired. i'm tired & all of this is getting worse & my doctor doesn't seem to give a shit#heat intolerance

I hate how men's and women's clothes are on stores. I hate the variety and limitations. Everytime I need to buy clothes I see the ones assigned on each gender and it makes me physically sick
#what do you mean 80% of women's shirts are either crop top or have weirdly short sleeves? why are there no similar clothes in mens section#why is everything in women's section so sexualized? why are all the clothes for men so baggy?#I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes I hate clothes#text#not art#me complaining#about how gendered society is and how it's appropriate to wear certain clothes only if you are assigned one gender and not the other#I buy clothes from everywhere I don't care as long as it fits me (unisex clotges my beloved)#and don't get me started on mens shoes. no variety whatsoever. there's like 7 different kinds and thats it.#women's shoes? oh idk 500 different ones in the same store. and they look different too

#it's a strange thing to work in a store that never sleeps. like living in an organism. like forcing its blood to flow#youre there an not. mostly out of sight and out of mind. blinking into existence when something is needed#or at least thats how it is when you work on the back end. and its an oddly gendered workplace when i go in#before the sun is up. before the doors are unlocked. men and boys unload the trucks and sort the packages. women sort the clothing packages#so they do that on purpose? do applicates sort themselves? why do only women work in style?#i dunno. it feels like my 1st real job. its very strange bc there are alloted times and clocking in and out and forced breaks. ive never had#that. ive only had: every moment that youre not working is a waste of time. i worked 10 hour days 6 days a week while getting paid part time#so it's weird. its nice to feel useful. its nice to have my time filled with things to do. but its also like going to school k-12 bc its#like: oh god i gotta get up at 3am so i can go to work. so i dunno. we'll see how i feel after a full week. its also sorta physically#exhausting and maybe i should have said 32hrs instead of 40 so i can actually work on some stuff this summer but i guess we'll see#right now getting a government job sounds better than going back to school but i dunno. i dunno#ill have to start applying in earnest. ay ay ay. what a mess#unrelated
