imo Yossarian is closest with Clevinger and Dunbar because they’re both the sort who would readily lie to people they care about and say everything’s going to be okay, but it would be very clear Dunbar doesn’t actually believe that and Clevinger does
Clevinger is absolutely the kind of person who would be deeply affected by Omelas but react to that by trying to ‘solve’ it, and I think that’s why Yossarian finds his specific brand of moron behavior likable and comforting

Clevinger's Cloud - Why It's Got To Be A Cumulus Congestus Cloud With A Pileus Accessory Cloud!
Based on a little research, it turns out that military bomber pilots could be 30k feet in the air in their planes. This, of course, widens the amount of possible cloud types that it could've been. I would also like to rule out clouds that canvas the entire sky---such would defeat the point of him having "a cloud" to disappear into.
Tumblr media
However, we can learn a few more things from this excerpt:
Tumblr media
the cloud was coastal. This is relevant due to the differential heating that happens between land and sea. Different kinds of clouds will form if it's over land
The text says "down through", which I will take as meaning that their planes were under the 30k maximum height. I'd be willing to vouch then, that this cloud was mid to low elevation
The color was white, and it (of course) was formed in the mediterranean. Not all clouds are capable of forming everywhere, so already we're looking at something that's more equatorial, and it's not a storm cloud
A helicopter circled the cloud. This matters!! Helicopters were still pretty new in the 1940s, in fact, 1942 marked one of the first helicopter flights. Most importantly, helicopters in 1944 had an approximate height of 7100 meters, or 23k feet
Based on this, you can guess that the cloud was probably a mid to low level cloud. Most likely, this was an altocumulus or a cumulus cloud. However, the thing that bothers me about claiming it's a cumulus is because cumulus clouds tend to be under 10k feet, and if this was Clevinger's cloud, then he'd have to be landing. So let's check the next thing: how far are Elba and Parma?
Tumblr media
Well, I think that answers that question. Turns out there's an equation to determine when a pilot should start their descent: 3 miles for every 1,000 feet you have to lose. Assuming that they were flying at 30k feet, they'd need to be 90 miles out before they begin landing. That's actually not that helpful. HOWEVER, Pianosa IRL is only 36 miles away from Elba. That's more interesting.
Tumblr media
According to this, they'd still be on their ascent. Assuming that the 3-to-1 rule is similar here (I looked it up; it is), in 36 miles, they'd about 12k feet in the air (doing the direct math, you get around 12,900 feet. I'm basically right). That eliminates a few different species of cumulus cloud, which would generally be too low-level.
My problem with stratocumulus clouds is: look at this textbook case of stratocumulus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's not "a cloud"! That's my problem here. The "a" article represents that the cloud is alone; if you're picking stratocumulus, you wouldn't use a single article for that!! If you really wanted to stretch it by the larger definition of stratocumulus--"clouds that evade sorting into other categories", then maybe. Maybe. I'm putting a pin in this for now. I'm going to be eliminating other low/mid level clouds like stratus (it's certainly not), and cumulonimbus (if Clevinger flew into a storm cloud, yeah, that would be problematic. Serious pilots go out of their way to evade these things. While it is high enough, it's also not really a white cloud, and it's ginormous. They wouldn't have gone on a flight path that took anyone through a cumulonimbus).
Cumulus humulis and cumulus mediocris are both too low. The only real contender, I think, is very obviously cumulus congestus. These are vertically developed clouds and can be up to 20k feet tall, and even higher if they're near the equator (which, last time I checked, Italy is). Look at this beautiful thing:
Tumblr media
Now that's "a cloud"! Additionally about this type of cloud; it's capable of developing into a cumulonimus storm cloud, and can occasionally cause showers itself. The atmosphere in a growing culumus congestus would be unstable in order for it to continue to grow, and the instability within the cloud would make this more dangerous to travel through. One final test is this line:
Tumblr media
Turnip-shaped. Turnip-shaped?! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?
Tumblr media
Uhhhh..... Okay. Alright. Uh. Hm. So I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume one of two things: either Heller doesn't know how clouds work, or he's talking about some kind of striations at the top of the cloud that make it look like leaves. A cloud with a round base that has a thin bit and then a larger top. Okay guys, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say maybe this means it's a cumulus congestus with a pileus accessory cloud on top. It might look something like this
Tumblr media
Which. If you squint. Is kind of reminiscent of a turnip. Imagine a thin, tall cumulus congestus, and this on the top. It almost looks like leaves. This is still the most likely cloud, as it's the most unstable of the cumulus clouds (aside from cumulonimbus, of course) and could actually cause someone's plane to go down!
In conclusion: Clevinger's cloud was likely a cumulus congestus cloud with an accessory pileus cloud.

Hiii okay pick and choose or do them all haha :] 001, Catch 22, 002, Girlverse Cathkorn, 003, Girlcart (I'm sure you saw this coming) and your OC Saph :')
HEY MAX thanks for the ask and yes i will do all of them >:}
cut bc it will be very long
CATCH 22
Favorite character: Cath... idk. :] he’s so terrible but so dumb and his parts are the funniest to read. Awful person wonderful character. I want another book of just his reactions to Situations bc he’s just such a Guy. The guy ever Least Favorite character: I think the answer for most people is aarfy. and I agree but I'm gonna also say captain black. Aarfy because he was created to function as basically the Worst, and Cpt Black bc i just personally find him annoying. There’s a lot of awful guys in c22 who are fun to read about, but reading these guy’s parts is just “man them again. do they ever shut up”. 5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon):
Kathcorn 4ever </3
M&W (thanks max)
clevbar (thanks max)
Yoss/luciana - they’re a classic
space reserved for random joke stuff that has no reason other than “these guy’s names are always mentioned together so they’re a Thing now” (gus/wes or plitchard/wren) there’s no reason for this but its funny
Character I find most attractive: Any character I draw tbh. I think they’re all supposed to be just Guys but i cant help being like “hi 😘″ when i draw them.  Character I would marry: NO ONE. they are so ridiculous Luciana Character I would be best friends with: clevinger maybe. we’re both annoying and like to seem smart.  a random thought: said this earlier but they will never make a good adaptation if they don’t get the cathcart or the milo right. They're so integral to the story and they’re always adapted like “look at this funny guy. he’s going to be a nuisance.😉 now back to yossarian”. and milo is always clean shaven and cathcart is not smoking his opulent cigarette holder? why not?? An unpopular opinion: i dont know what unpopular or popular c22 opinions even are. major major could beat captain black in a fistfight My Canon OTP: Do cath & korn count. I think they should count (has read every part where they’re mentioned like 20 times and morphed it to fit my interpretation) I think heller could’ve meant it in a homophobic way. Gay disney villain korn time. If they don’t count i think the Yoss & Luciana bits were always fun too.  My Non-canon OTP: Milo & Wintergreen just cuz I love your writing for them max. I never would’ve come up with this on my own since I don’t think they really interact cuz the concept itself is so fun. Business rivals>business partners> Love?? Most Badass Character: No one they are all kind of losers. Maybe Orr  Most Epic Villain: same for the last one. they’re all lame. Or the idea of the catch itself and all of it’s enforcers  Pairing I am not a fan of: maybe this is my unpopular opinion but i think yoss & chaplain are not ideal romantically. its the fandom go-to romance bc its the literal first line (and i used to love them when i first read the book) but idk. theyre ok to me and not as fun as all the other wacky and crazy guys out there Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I think duckett should NOT have been into yossarian and her thing should've just been being girlbffs with cramer. love loses. heller has to write every woman the way he does :[ Favourite Friendship: ME and MAX catch22bffs forever <3. real answer i think clev/dunbar/yossarian have the best conversations theyre all so insufferable in their own ways and its great Character I most identify with: nurse cramer. kinda her friend starts dating some guy and she’s like “ok what happened to being girl best friends😒”. and dobbs in the sense that i am kind of bad at a lot of the things i have to do Character I wish I could be: NO ONE for real this time. i can’t think of a single guy who isn’t either awful or has awful things happen to them. or both
Kathcorn :>
When I started shipping them: i remember reading the book the first time and thinking ‘wow they are just like my ocs. theyre dating behind the scenes haha’ and then forgetting about them. And I get back into the book and find a few other people who are Cath n Korn fans, I get really into Kathcorn Kontent, I draw them more and now they're my favorites <3 My thoughts: they’ve got one of my favorite themes, where the relationship isn’t beneficial to their main goals at all really. They both want to rise the ranks and being In Love with your right hand man isn’t really gonna help with that. Korn’s like one of those edgy guys who says he doesn’t want to get attached to people because it’s Just a Distraction from the Real Goal. And Cathcart’s one of those annoying guys who says he doesn’t want to get attached to people because it’s Just a Distraction from the Real Goal. And then both of them would try to justify it in their own silly ways and eventually have come to terms with it. And its also funny cuz they’re both just The Worst.  What makes me happy about them: they are both so lame and evil and sucks that everything they do will be entertaining to me  What makes me sad about them: I dont think they can even exist in a way that isn’t destructive to each other and everyone else around them. Not really sad since I focus more on the silly aspect but it could be. Not that they wouldn’t deserve it but it sucks that they have to drag the entire world into their evil love affair </3 Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Nothing they are ALL good i think to be a korn&cath liker you have to already Understand so all the fanfictions will naturally be good bc of that Things I look for in fanfic: For it to exist and for it to center around their inane interactions and just how awful they are but in a #love way My wishlist: I wish we got a scene inside the farmhouse. Just to see what theyre up to 🤔I wish we got the Korn chapter too Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: no one comes to mind. dreedle and peckem My happily ever after for them: their happily ever after is probably promotion and continuing to ruin lives but i think they really have to end up in the farmhouse. They cant have a farmhouse and not just retire there when everything goes wrong. its too convenient and its perfect
Girlcart<3<3<3
How I feel about this character: genderswap of cath that i got really attached to for no reason. Cathcart is interesting as a hypothetical female character since he’s trying to be this stereotypical toughguy all the time but he’s also so dumb and evil and awful. girlcart, i wuv her. she’s so important. She’s just woman cathcart but there’s the added interest of how she ended up as a squadron commander as a woman in the 40s, her relation with masculinity/femininity, whether she becomes more sympathetic when her problems are not all self imposed.. and we need more loser evil women everywhere Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: could it ever be anyone but girlkorn My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: to be honest she wouldnt have many friends but i think her interactions with milo would be funny. i like what we made up about Girl Milo being very ‘this is my 10 step beauty routine you should do it too. buy M&M skincare’ and cathcart being like ‘eww... makeup, gross” but also wanting to impress milo because milo is Successful My unpopular opinion about this character: She deserves everything ever shes so special. girlcart hiii. she sucks and she’s lame One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: there’s no canon bc we just make it all up. but i think her established storyline is growing up and not really belonging anywhere that a Lady(TM) would typically in the 20s-30s, always being second best in the rich east coast elite world and being desperate for some recognition. I think she deserved a friend who wasn’t caught up in the whole status thing Favorite friendship for this character: does milo count? danby? anyone? Korn’s her only friend and cathcart can’t stand her. I’ll be her favorite friend My crossover ship: what would she even cross over into?? she’d need a kornguy that’s all i know.
Saph (OC)
How I feel about this character: Spy character for my main story. She's been around for longer than any character i’ve ever liked ever. I made her in middle school and she was a dragon named Sapphire (hence the Saph) and she’s stayed with me through countless story changes. I dont think because of anythign particularly special about the character but she was my first OC and typical toughgirl undefeatable no-weaknesses character made by a 12-year-old. and i think she retains that in sprit but in practice she’s a total mess. I <3 U saph Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Riya, another oc that i made to be saph’s sidekick also in middle school who i recently decided should #love her. I can’t really see Saph in any romantic situations so they’re either in an awkward purely physical relationship that’s really tragic for Riya or its an equally fail unrequited love situation. Riya’s not very outgoing so she’s kind of stuck with Saph and Saph doesn’t tend to get attached to anyone My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Riya again if you count the weird sexual-platonic thing they’d have going on. but she’s also got her spy team of basically a bunch of frat boys and they like to be Dudes together. I don’t like them tho and a lot of them are basically expendable in the story. rip My unpopular opinion about this character: she could fight 1000 demons and 1000 skeletons & not get scared One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: since her spy team is out trying to kill a politician (other side of the story)  i think it would be funny to write the alternate ending where they team up cartoon-style against a Greater Evil. i think the personalities would mesh well (awfully). I think a lot of her problems couldve been avoided too if the spy team had ditched their stupid orders and just gone on the run (which she and riya do in the end anyways) Favorite friendship for this character: i feel like she’s the sort to always Know A Guy wherever they go. but i dont really have anyone specific yet aside from the main characters and their counterparts. So for now im answering Riya for a third time. My crossover ship: i have nothing to cross over except catch 22. im gonna say wintergreen

A Fresh Take on War Fiction: Why you should catch Catch-22
In the world of war fiction, the main source of entertainment is usually action and drama. Inspiring speeches, gallant charges, and massive battles try and draw the audience in. Planes fly overhead, explosions shake the screen, and the cavalry comes in to save the day. While Catch-22 has its fair share of action, Joseph Heller brings a different approach to creating entertaining war fiction. The book, written by Joseph Heller, follows Captain John Yossarian, a bombardier in the US Army Air Force in World War II, who is trying to get out of having to fly dangerous combat missions.
One thing that makes a book entertaining is relatability. When a book portrays characters in situations the reader might have found themselves in, it helps them to understand and sympathize with the characters. One type of relatable situation is seen throughout the novel: finding yourself at the mercy of powerful superiors or complex, uncaring bueaucracy. One notable instance of this is in Chapter 8 when Clevinger, one of Yossarian’s squad mates, is tried by the Action Board because his commanding officer, Lieutenant Scheisskopf, does not like him. After stumbling while marching to class, Scheisskopf throws the book at him, charging him with several erroneous offenses. Another example is in the backstory of an important character named Major Major, who is promoted to the rank of Major simply because of his name.
The most important instance of ineffective bureaucracy is the rule from which the book takes its name, Catch-22. Catch-22 states that anyone mentally unfit to serve can be grounded and all they have to do is ask. However, if an airman asks to be grounded, he shows concern for his safety, and is therefore fit for service. After his squadron’s commanding officer raises the number of missions his men have to fly in order to go home, Yossarian, who believes that any man willing to fly that many missions is crazy, asks the squadron’s doctor, Doctor Daneeka, to ground him on the grounds that anyone willing to fly so many missions must be unfit to continue. Daneeka agrees with Yossarian but cannot ground him because he asked. While this is an extreme example, everyone has found themselves in a situation of thins kind at one point or another, be it with a parent, teacher or another authority figure.
youtube
The simplest way Heller entertains readers is with humor. One way he does this is through figurative language, particularly antithesis and paradox. Figurative language is woven throughout the entirety of the book. Several examples can be found in the first few pages: “Each morning they came around, three brisk and serious men with efficient mouths and inefficient eyes.”  “He was working hard at increasing his lifespan. … Dunbar was working so hard at increasing his lifespan that Yossarian thought he was dead.”  “The Texan turned out to be good-natured, generous and likable. In three days nobody could stand him.” and “Actually, there were many officers’ Cubs that Yossarian had not helped build, but he was proudest of the on in Pianosa. … Yossarian throbbed with a mighty sense of accomplishment each time he gazed at it and reflected that none of the work that had gone into had been his.”
Catch-22 also uses humor through its characters. Many of the characters are caricatures that symbolize certain themes or things. British author and literary scholar Paul McDonald writes, “Things are taken to ridiculous extremes, characters behave in bizarre ways, and the world is sometimes cartoonlike. People do not actually behave this way.”  The most striking example is the squadron mess officer, Milo Minderbinder. Milo represents capitalism. What begins as an attempt to buy eggs for the squadron on the black market spirals into a massive capitalist enterprise spanning the entire Mediterranean and beyond. Milo builds his syndicate, M&M Enterprises, into a huge multinational corporation and does anything to make money, even going do far as to cooperate with the Germans and bomb his own squadron.
Another way Catch-22 is entertaining is that its is exciting. While scenes depicting combat make up very little of the book, and mostly in the form of flashbacks, these battle scenes show what Yossarian is trying to get away from, and make the danger he faces more prssing and more real. There are also several exciting scenes that don’t depict any combat. For example, when Clevinger is tried by the Action Board, and when a prostitute who was in love with Nately, one of Yossarian’s squad mates, tries to kill Yossarian because she blames him for Nately’s death.
In conclusion, Catch-22, despite being a war novel, doesn’t depend on pure action to entertain its audience. Heller uses witty figurative language, interesting characters, and relatable situations to draw readers in. It has its fair share of action, but ultimately uses other means to keep readers wonder what will happen next.

Female Tropes That Need To Die
Disposable Woman
"Needless violence against a woman character who is only significant as an object of a male character's desire? Hot damn, I'm a real comic writer now!" - Brian Clevinger, on this comic
This character has a familial or romantic relationship with a protagonist, which allows creators to derive heart-wrenching sorrow from her death. Thanks to "woman" being a unique character trait, character development is not strictly necessary to get the audience mourning as well... so she typically gets little or none. Losing her is often an Inciting Incident (in both stand-alone and serial works), giving the protagonist a pretext for Revengeagainst her murderers. In a series, she is easily forgotten by the characters, forgotten by the writers or even summarily replaced. When this happens frequently in a series, the protagonist is suffering from the Cartwright Curse.
Men can and have been treated this way in various stories, though such cases are rare. More often, Men Are the Expendable Gender, allowing for dozens of comrades-in-arms to die before equating to the same level of personal investment as a single female love interest, not to mention their mother/sister. Expendable characters of any gender are freely used to let a villain show off how evil they are without damaging any of the more important characters. The "disposable" character remains defined by her relationship to the protagonist, rather than by her gender.

ik it was a while ago (see: year(s)?) but id like to hear about your c22 polycule au if youd like to talk about it. it looked interesting
i was like 'oh i never had an au' and then REMEMBERED the 50s (90s) sitcom sendup where yossarian works odd jobs, clevinger is a high school teacher, and dunbar is tv meteorologist. I thought of that more as a dress-up game, but i guess the real au treatment was 'they are capable of being poly,' which they aren't lmao
I do still like to toy around with the idea of the three of them in a relationship since i already write/draw them paired in any given direction. In the 'canon-compliant' timeline yossarian would be going with clevinger and then with dunbar, so they have reason for getting together as a group. the 'how' of it is the biggest gap for me, but definitely a fwb thing and not a 'these are my two boyfriends we are in a loving and committed relationship' thing.
other misc thoughts:
yossarian is closer with dunbar in general but likes clevinger more romantically, would never say as much, dunbar has some awareness of this and clevinger doesn't
dunbar and clevinger each think they like yossarian the most but are undergoing some kind of horrific 'every romance premise at once' scenario with one another instead
yossarian would see himself as the main character of any threesome or maintained poly relationship (again, none of them are poly) so of course things fall apart and of COURSE he loses dunbar and clevinger to each other. i actually have more thoughts on this but it's really stupid sex stuff, so will save it for the funny papers or ao3 when i'm 90 i guess

24 for the catch-22 ask game because i want to jump in on this fake discourse that you're about to make up for this nonexistent fandom LMAOOO
Anything for you Liv, and thanks for the ask! This is gonna be fun. Okay so lets go, here's 24: "topic that brings up the most rancid discourse" and i need to emphasize because this is all made up, here are the main bins I'd imagine this would draw from. I'm also putting this under a readmore for those who don't want to see fabricated drama for a nonexistent fandom
shipping wars. obviously yossarian is shippable with almost everyone in the book (heller self insert x heller oc. many such cases) but I can only imagine the biggest war would be over Yossarian x chaplain (the obvious ship that you get from the get-go) and probably something like Yossarian x milo (could make a good case for this). (Actually... upon checking the ao3 statistics, one cannot help but notice: there are an equal number of Yossarian x orr and chaplain x yossarian fics (four of the yoss/orr ones are mislabled)). So it would probably be these two camps against each other. Milo shippers wouldn't fight people (on second thought) because "everyone gets a share"
I remember it was going for a while on c22tumblr a while back (as a joke; with the 'hypothetical fandom') but evidently label discourse. I feel like this would be so intertwined with the ship wars though that it's almost not worth its own bullet point. Here's how I see it going down: "poly yossarian" people would not have issues with anyone else, although people would take issue with the premise of yossarian being poly because it would interfere with them believing he's monogomous (again, all things which do not matter in the grand scheme of life). and of course it'd devolve from there (think: 2016 tumblr).
actually this isn't discourse this is just something i realized but there would be incessent character woobification in a very very bad way (i guess depending upon the ages of the people involved in the hypothetical fandom) but key people to get the treatment would be the chaplain (nice guy), milo (tumblr sexyman c. 1960), and possibly clevinger (optimist syndrome). probably a few others, too. i was just thinking of this the other day and it made me grit my teeth, though i don't think it would spawn actual fandom discourse. oh also major major would get woobified
proship discourse but it's not real problems, it's stuff like "[woobified] Nately is too innocent to consent and his girlfriend doesn't love him and is just using him!" (thus vilifying her. someone would do this and there would be backlash). cathkorn would get the proship label because of it being toxic in the manipulative sense. they'd make luciana a lesbian to get her out of yoss mlm situations. all of these are smaller blips that i imagine would spawn horrific discourse in the fake fandom because someone would get upset about it and then other people would argue against it pretty vehemently

Minnesota Twins-Cleveland Indians Series Preview
6.4.19-Devin Smetlzer LHP (0-0) 0.00 ERA Vs. Shane Bieber RHP (4-2) 3.67 ERA
6.5.19-Martin Perez LHP (7-2) 3.71 ERA Vs. Carlos Carrasco RHP (4-6) 4.98 ERA
6.6.19-Jose Berrios RHP (7-2) 3.27 ERA Vs. Trevor Bauer RHP (4-5) 3.87 ERA
The Twins At A Glance- The Minnesota Twins continued to prove that they are for real in 2019. They just took three out of four games from a good Tampa Bay Rays team. After the Rays beat them up in the first game, the Twins won three straight in St. Petersburg. The team activated Nelson Cruz off the disabled list and optioned Luis Arraez back to Rochester. Now, the Twins are at full strength with their position players. Jorge Polanco hit 5-for-13 with three doubles and four RBI’s in the Rays series. He is hitting .338 on the year, which is second in the American League now that Austin Meadows has enough at-bats to quality. Meadows has a .357 average to lead the league. Byron Buxton went 5-for-13 with a double, a triple, and a homer in the four-game set with the Rays. The pitching got better as the series went on. Martin Perez had a clunker of an outing on Thursday night. Jose Berrios, Kyle Gibson, and Jake Odorizzi all had nice starts over the weekend. Odorizzi struck out nine over six shutout innings against his former team on Sunday afternoon. The bullpen got an off day on Monday and should be well-rest for this series.
The Indians At A Glance- The Cleveland Indians have been a middle of the road team ever since they left Target Field to start the season. Cleveland is (4-10) in their past fourteen games are are tied for second place in the American League Central with the White Sox. The Indians experiments failed with Hanley Ramirez, Brad Miller, and Carlos Gonzalez. Cameron Maybin was traded to the Yankees in April and he’s been a solid fourth outfielder for them. The Indians have found offense hard to come by with a .226 team batting average. They’ve hit just 61 home runs compared to the Twins 109 homers. Carlos Santana has been their most consistent hitter with a .286 average, eleven homers and thirty-seven RBI’s. Francisco Lindor has broken out after an early season slump. His average is up to .293. Oscar Mercado is their new right fielder and he is hitting .278 in fifteen games. The starting staff was going to be the strength of this ball club, but they have been mediocre at times. Corey Kluber has a 5.80 ERA in seven starts and is out with a fracture in his right ulna bone. He won’t be back until August. Mike Clevinger is out with a upper back injurer and a Teres major muscle strain. He might be back in a few weeks. Trevor Bauer has been the best starter with a 3.87 ERA in thirteen starts. Carlos Carrasco has been alright with a 4.98 ERA in twelve starts. Brad Hand is having an amazing year as the closer with sixteen saves and a 1.14 ERA. Nick Wittgren, Tyler Olsen, Adam Cimber, and Oliver Perez are solid set-up men in a good bullpen for the Tribe.
What To Watch For- The Twins took two out of three from the Indians in the first series of 2019. The Twins went (4-6) against the Tribe in Cleveland last year. Shane Bieber has a 4.58 ERA in four games against the Twins in his career. Martin Perez is (1-2) with a 9.13 ERA in six career games against the Indians. Carlos Santana is hitting 7-for-11 (.636) off him in his career. Carlos Carrasco has lots of experience against the Twins. He is (7-10) with a 4.05 ERA in 24 career games versus Minnesota. Nelson Cruz has three career homers off him. Jose Berrios is (4-2) with a 4.00 ERA in eight starts against the Tribe. He made his Major League debut on April 27, 2016, against them. He also made his first Opening Day start against the Indians on March 28th. Trevor Bauer is (6-7) in 20 games against the Twins. Jorge Polanco has three homers off him and Eddie Rosario has taken him deep twice. Nelson Cruz has hit well at Progressive Field. He has a .302 average with nine homers and nineteen RBI’s in 36 career games in Cleveland. It should be an interesting series to see how the Indians are playing, who are the only threat to the Twins in the division.
