ALL INDIA LAW ENTRANCE TEST (AILET) – NLU DELHIPATTERN OF EXAM

The duration of the Exam will be 1 Hour 30 Minutes.

100 Multiple Choice Questions will be asked in the Examination.

One Essay of 50 marks on a topic of law from the above subjects will be asked.

Each question shall carry four marks.

For every correct answer four marks will be awarded and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

L.L.B. Degree (with not less than 50% marks) from any University / Institution recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrollment as an advocate in India or a Law Degree from foreign Country with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.

The candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply but their admission will be subject to production of proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualification, at the time of admission. If the result of the qualifying examination is not declared till the admission, his/her admission shall be provisional.

Such candidates shall give an undertaking that he/she is taking the provisional admission at his/her risk and that he/she shall submit the result of the qualifying examination. In case the candidates fail to submit his/her final result of qualifying examination to prove his/her eligibility for any reason whatsoever, his or her admission shall be treated as canceled and the entire fee forfeited.

CLAT 2018: Haryana girl tops Tricity with all-India rank 19

Haryana girl Mansi Gupta bagged the top position in the city with all India rank (AIR) 19 and 141.75 marks in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2018, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

Coming in second was Chandigarh’s Vidushi Gupta with AIR 23 and 141.25 marks. Ropar resident Rehan Gupta secured the third position with AIR 29 and 140.5 marks. Both Mansi and Rehan took coaching from a Chandigarh insitute.

Besides, five more students from the city’s coaching institutes figure among the top 100 in India with Himanshu (AIR 48), Sarthak (AIR 57), Nitika Bansal (AIR 71), Viraj Gaur (AIR 75) and Abhi Uday Singh Gautam (AIR 95).

The students will be selected in national law universities (NLUs), including top-ranked institutions such as National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore, National Law University in New Delhi, Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad and WB National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata, among others.

CLAT 2018 was held on May 13 by the National Law University in Kochi for more than 2,250 seats across 19 institutions. Rajasthan students Aman Garg secured AIR 1, followed by Devansh Kaushik (AIR 2) and Anmol Gupta (AIR 3).

The Supreme Court has asked the grievances panel, set up by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, to submit a report on June 6, taking note of the aspirants’ complaints against glitches during the test. CLAT 2018 was conducted by NUALS this year with the aid of a private firm for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes.

The varsity has formed a two-member panel to look into the complaints following the apex court’s direction. Over 54,000 candidates appeared for CLAT 2018. The results will be available online on the official website till June 6. Candidates are advised to download their results before the date of closure.

It is our duty to give back to society in meaningful and effective ways that can help bring organic change through sustainable means.

Project Maverick is an initiative by LawSikho, inspired by and dedicated to Prof. Shamnad Basheer. We heavily drew upon his ideas while conceptualizing this.

Prof. Basheer was a dear mentor to Ramanuj and Abhyuday, the two batchmates who started iPleaders in college. When they started their journey with iPleaders and then afterward as LawSikho as well, Prof. Shamnad Basheer always encouraged us in our journey and evolution to become what LawSikho has turned out to be.

Following his ideals, Project Maverick aims to create unprecedented access to legal education and take his work to the next level using digital means. We will not stop at just law entrance exams, this is a project that is going to impact the entire legal education system as our plan unfolds.
