god you know it just really freaking hits me sometimes how brilliant the animation and directing in this show is because this shot in ephemeral

it actually took my breath away because the way the music rises and falls and all we hear are heartbeats and silence and it means so much because in that scene we see adrien and marinette becoming the closes the ever and it spins adrien's world right around because for a moment everything is clear

but then in kuro neko,

this scene is like the EXACT opposite because here instead of them being closer than ever and breaking down all the walls they are the furthest apart they've ever been and marinette's world spins around because her world is falling apart but instead of the silence of anticipation its the rush of anxiety and all the voice in her head are overwhelming because this is it and as the audience we really feel it.

these episodes are right after the other and i have to wonder if the timelines match up, like if this scene could have happened on the same theoretical day as the other and even if it doesn't it's just so powerful because we know how powerful these two are together but they don't

AND THE WAY THEY END with the close up on adrien's face showing how happy is but for mari we dont see her her at all, just looking at her hesitantly put the ring away, bottling up her emotions while adrien sets his free.
