Upon the day, however, the box would be filled with..rocks? And, of course, another note:

"These are Aagro stones. Charge them with emotion, then throw them at people you don't like. They'll either catch on fire or explode. They're rechargeable btw".

the stubborness of the wrapping to stay untouched only fueled their impatience more.   confetti was a fun prank only when they weren’t on the receiving end of it.   when the day arrived, they basically tore the dumb thing apart.   they even stuck their tongue out at the wrapping for good measure. 

at first, a smidge of disappointment flitted through them at the sight of those rocks.   the silly tale of naughty children receiving coal for christmas flashed in the back of their mind.   but a simple touch betrayed the presence of magic in those strange things, and their curiosity resurfaced in an instant, steadily growing intrigue glinting in their gaze as they read damian's accompanying note.

rocks that caught on fire?   or exploded?   rocks that could be recharged with emotions?

“oh, FUCK yeah!”

they couldn't begin to describe how perfect this was.   fire and explosions were right up their alley, and as for the rocks' battery, they had plenty of what it asked for.   the emotions in question strayed dangerously close to embarrassment, now---how could they ever think that damian would get them coal for christmas?   that was rude.   they'd throw a rock at someone he disliked as a penance.
