Headcanons: Helena’s Family

Galen Walsh (FC: Timothy V. Murphy) - Head of the Family. Currently imprisoned after his daughter secretly helped the police in his arrest. He is not aware of this truth, and that’s how his younger brother plans to keep it. 

Matilda Russo (FC: Patricia Velásquez) - Helena and Theodore’s absent mother. Status unknown. Hasn’t been seen or heard from since she left her children with their father in 1996.

Cormac Walsh (FC: Titus Welliver) - Interim Head of the Family & business. Actively attempting to locate both Lena and Theo, while secretly putting hits out on Lena. He is the only person that knows the truth about Lena’s involvement in putting his older brother/her father in prison and wants revenge. He hasn’t told his brother the truth about Lena for the reason of “sparing him of that pain”. He has deliberately lied to his brother’s face many times about his niece, promising his brother that he’ll bring the children back into the family and the business as Galen intended. Cormac believes that his brother would forgive Lena for her role in his arrest, something the younger brother can’t allow to happen.

Tessa Walsh (FC: Jodelle Ferland) - Helena and Theo’s younger paternal half-sister, Galen’s daughter with an ex-girlfriend. Lena accidentally caused her death in car accident while she was driving her younger sister home from soccer practice while the older was high. Tessa’s death is what made Lena sober up from her prior drug addiction (though alcohol can still be a problem, she adamantly rejects driving drunk). Lena carries a photo of her little sister with her.

Anthony Russo (FC: Mandy Patinkin) - Lena and Theo’s maternal grandfather, who they found after running away from their family after their father’s incarceration. They both lived with him and their grandmother Lilian Russo (nee Chester) before Lilian was murdered in a home invasion set up by Cormac Walsh. Anthony survived, but the contact with his grandchildren was cut off by Helena and Theo for his protection and they haven’t seen him since. 

Sorcha Walsh (FC: Fionnula Flanagan) - Lena and Theo’s paternal grandmother, mother to Galen and Cormac Walsh. Though Sorcha is very much alive, she doesn’t have any working connection to the family business - at least not since the passing of her husband Edmond which lead her eldest son to take over. Though she disapproved of her grandchildren’s conception (and later Lena’s erratic behavior), she had genuine love for them.

Ruth Walsh (FC: Fiona Shaw) - The only daughter of Edmond and Sorcha Walsh and a very vain and greedy woman. She’s been married and divorced 3 times, all of which was done for money before settling down with her wife Alma. She and Lena never got along and Ruth hated the fact that her older brother had been giving money to Lena’s mother when she was raising the children; she was completely fine with the idea of her brother hiding the paternity of his kids from his family considering they were conceived out of wedlock and through an affair, but for Galen to have provided financial support to Matilda is something she considers ‘unforgivable’.

Verses: Succubus!Lena

Helena was born just one of many succubi creatures in her family; her mother Matilda and several members of her maternal family had the ability to feed on the life energy of another through sexual contact and intercourse. 

Matilda Russo worked as a maid to Galen Walsh, the head of an organized crime family, and began a long affair with the Irishman - continuously feeding from this man, using him for nothing but to satisfy her hunger.  Then, she became pregnant with her and Galen’s first child. Lena was born in secret, her father Galen providing financial support to Matilda behind his then-wife’s back and the affair continued - with another child, son Theodore, following two years later. Though Theodore hadn’t inherited the supernatural genes of his mother, thus he was born completely human. 

Lena and her younger brother were left with their father by their mother before she disappeared, abandoning the two children for reasons unknown. Galen took responsibility for his children, allowing the divorce from his wife to happen without a fight, and raised them with the intent of integrating them into the family business.

Lena’s hunger first manifested when she was a teenager, around the same time as her rebellious attitude to get under her father’s skin began. While she didn’t quite understand her powers, she quickly learned how to use them to her advantage, which helped her greatly once she went on the run to hide from her family after secretly helping the police put her father into prison. 

Though she has killed using her powers, most always on accident, Lena isn’t afraid of them - choosing to see them as a blessing and the means of helping her survive.

Abilities (taken from various sources)

 -  Life Energy Consumption: Through sexual activity, Lena consumes the life force of another, sating the hunger she’s developed as a succubus.

- Seduction and manipulation: Lena seduces and manipulates people with the touch of her skin on another's. This contact is very pleasurable and eliminates her victim's resistance so she can feed from him or her, engage in sex, or control the person to her advantage. The enthrallment is effective on all recipients regardless of their sexual orientation. Lena also has the ability to influence whether or not her victim may be left confused after feeding and whether or not they remember being seduced. As far as Lena is aware, her powers work the best on humans and especially those of weak willpower. She has discovered that her powers may not work on just anybody, which means she has to choose her victims carefully; she may even take a short time to get to know the person (without any emotional attachment) before she decides to use them. She’s rarely had the chance to test her abilities on other supernatural creatures. 

- Sexual Aura Reading: Lena can sense the level of someone's sexual attraction and lust. It is not automatic and mostly occurs through the contact of skin to skin (for example: a simple handshake).

- Enhanced Stamina

- Enhanced Strength

- Healing Factor: Both on her own and through sexual intercourse, Lena can heal most kinds of injuries. Depending on the severity, it could take between a few minutes up to a few days, if not longer.

- Sleep Inducement: Lena has the ability to hypnotize a person to make them fall asleep, an power she often uses in order to sneak out once she’s done with her feeding. 

Weaknesses (taken from various sources)

- Sexual Need / Lustful Hunger: Due to the very nature of being a creature who survives by feeding from one’s life energy, Lena is quite dependent on sex and must engage in some form of sexual activity to sustain herself. If she cannot feed or goes for a long time without feeding, she will begin to slowly wither away and eventually will die. 

- Severe Injuries: Though Lena possesses the ability to heal herself, she is not an immortal, thus she can die from fatal wounds and severe injuries. Her healing factor may not be able to regenerate her wounds in time before she succumbs to death. 

- Illness, disease, and poisons: Lena is not immune to any illness, disease, and poisons. Her healing ability may prolong her life through a sickness, but there will come a time where it will stop working and she will eventually die.

Headcanons: Lena Chester

Lena’s first instinct when faced with someone trying to hurt her emotionally is to snap back with sarcasm, followed by anger. It takes a lot to make her cry out of sadness, and most likely if you see tears they are full of wrath. She has her mother’s temper and isn’t afraid to lash out physically at a moment’s notice; however, due to a moment in her past where she accidentally punched her own brother in one of these fits of rage, she’s worked hard to hold herself back from causing physical harm of any kind. If you’re paying close attention when she’s in a heated argument or another situation where her temper flares, you’ll notice a tick in her hands - there’s a sharp twitch every few seconds, meaning she has the overwhelming urge to strike someone or something. She’s tried to replace the urge to lash out with her fists by using her sharp tongue and wit, choosing instead to break someone emotionally rather than physically.

Succubus Verse

There is a side of Lena that no one, except for the victims’ who she does not spare, has ever seen. 

Lena’s succubus bloodline has the ability to disguise their true appearance, an ability that is taught to them very young if they are raised by their demon parent as Lena was.

Lena’s true appearance greatly resembles to some of the depictions of succubus demons from human mythology: she has two large leathery black (with reddish tints) wings that are retractable from her back, with deep red skin and two small, black horns that protrude from her forehead. She has a long tail, the end of it a pointed arrowhead shape. Her eyes are the same color as her human appearance. She also possesses longer fingernails that are sharp to a point, resembling claws and her teeth are small snake-like fangs.

Headcanons: Helena Chester

The criminal activity Lena’s family partake in includes:

- drug trafficking and distribution - contract heists - contract murders - gun trafficking and distribution -  money laundering - insurance fraud - extortion - and, from rumors that Lena has heard, even human trafficking.

Lena secretly tipped off police of only a few of these crimes that lead to her father’s arrest and imprisonment - personally leading them to an underground warehouse where the family were storing large quantities of narcotics and weapons. 

Though many of the family (except for Lena’s uncle, who is the current head of the business while his brother is in prison) are still very much unaware of who the rat truly is, they have punished several of their employees for failing to their job in guarding the stash and evading the police. Cormac Walsh even had one informant killed on the suspicions of him being the rat before he discovered the truth about his niece. Lena unfortunately knew the man quite well and has carried some guilt with her over his death.

Headcanons: Lena Chester

Cormac Walsh, Lena’s uncle and the current (and temporary) head of the family and business, has different reasons for wanting Lena back in the family than his brother. While Galen stands by his claim to love and worry for his daughter (something that Lena has a difficult time believing because of the strict and pushy nature of her upbringing), Cormac’s reasons are purely based on protecting the family business. Lena holds knowledge of family secrets, she knows too much of their operation and how they function; Cormac loves his niece, but it comes down to protecting the empire his fathers before him had built by keeping his niece quiet - that’s what he’s striving for. He can’t risk Lena ruining what they’ve worked so hard to build and expand. 

Not to mention that recently, unbeknownst to Lena, Cormac has discovered that his niece was the anonymous witness that tipped off the cops and landed his brother behind bars. He hasn’t yet told his brother nor anyone else in the family, secretly plotting to use this information against Lena - to be blunt, to blackmail her into rejoining the family and keeping her mouth shut.

Lena has little doubt that her own uncle wouldn’t be against hurting (or worse) her to get what he wants.

Though Lena’s only speaks English, she has practiced and (self-proclaimed) mastered various accents. When she applies for new IDs and documents to be made, she’ll sometimes throw in an accent with the new identity. She has played with a British, Russian, Scottish, Irish, and Italian accent, picking up a few words from a couple of the languages as she grew up surrounded by employees of her father’s that come from various backgrounds.

Headcanon: Helena Chester

Though Lena has never wanted to be a part of the family business, that never meant that she was against using the fortune they gained from said business. In her rebellious teenage phase, she was a big spender, buying quite expensive clothes and accessories and putting them all on her father’s credit card. And if her father cut her off, she’d find other ways to spend their money (such as one time swiping her uncle’s credit card to pay for her genital piercing; when Galen found that out, he wasn’t made aware that Lena had stolen the card and beat the shit out of his little brother thinking that Cormac knew about the piercing). 

Lena had a hefty allowance of her own, which with the help of some employees of her father’s that she may or may not have done favors for, Lena had money secretly transferred to an account that her father never knew about (as far as Lena was aware; she’s 98.999 % sure that he didn’t know, going through great lengths to keep it a secret from him) which is what she dips into while on her ‘travels’.

She didn’t use her own money to set up and gain fake IDs and documents to go on the run and cover her tracks, taking from the business and paying all in cash without receipts to leave no trail behind. Lena has no problem working with the black market or any other illegal economy to hide herself - and her brother for that matter - from her family.
