axelle judges bl shows > Indigo No Kibun
/!\ SPOILERS AHEAD.
shitty summary: Rio Kijima is a succesful writer who can’t write novels anymore. His former classmate, Kido, introduces him to the world of erotic novels and, also, his d*ck. Prequel/Sequel to Pornographer.
grade: 9/10
pros:
- the acting is incredible
- the cinematography is so beautiful!!! (which is sadly rare for bl shows)
- the chemistry... I can’t.
- everything feels natural, the kiss and sex scenes aren’t awkward at all
cons:
- too short
- too sad
would I rewatch it: once I get over the ending, absolutely
#before i fell hard for this show i was thinking of putting pornographer and ink together...#lmao i switched tracks real quick#seeing everyone not even give this ship a chance really put me off and now i literally want nothing to do with pornographer#like it was a good show but the sequel... blew it out of the park tbh.#btw there's no top/bottom disourse for this one#because while it's explicitly shown that rio is the bottom i include the top/bottom discourse to highlight problematic tropes in bl shows#rio being the bottom in his relationship with kido isn't part of the problem#because he's not shown as being strictly a bottom (cf pornographer) and isn't stereotyped based on that#also i hope you liked my joke in the summary haha#and also i'm very proud to be the only giffer of ink because i get to use my own gifs for this#anyways i'm done sorry for the rambling#indigo no kibun#bypiningbisexuals#axelle judges bl shows

What's the -o suffix like in doggo, weirdo, kido, psycho?
That is a fascinating question. I have no idea. It’s been around since at least the 19th century (cf. bucko), but I have no idea who started it or why. It’s a common abbreviation in French, but no idea how old that one was. It has basically no meaning (something which should prove challenging to the morphemists), so that’s no help. Could come from a shortening of “of” in longer phrases (e.g. boy of my heart > boy o my heart > boy-o), but that’s simply a guess. I bet the OED might know something about it, but I don’t have access to it atm. Worth a look!
