El año es 2006. El carismático Felix Catton es el imán que atrae todas las miradas durante su paso por la Universidad de Oxford, y, considerando que el actor que lo interpreta es Jacob Elordi, es perfectamente comprensible. En el otro lado de la popularidad se encuentra Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan): tímido, inteligente y extraordinariamente educado, pero de presencia imperceptible. Un encuentro fortuito, en el que Oliver lo salva de un compromiso escolar, los convierte en amigos. Tras confirmarle la muerte de su padre, Catton se conmueve por el suceso y le invita a pasar un verano en su imponente residencia de verano, que lleva el nombre de Saltburn.

Allí se topa con un universo de personajes que parece salido de una película de Wes Anderson: un mayordomo severo y con poca paciencia (Paul Rhys), los padres aristócratas de Felix (Lady Elspeth, en la piel de Rosamund Pike, y Sir James Catton, interpretado por Richard E. Grant), su hermana Venetia (Alison Oliver), la amiga de Elspeth, Pamela (Carey Mulligan) y Farleigh, primo de Felix (Archie Madekwe). Todos con una perspectiva frívola e incluso desalmada sobre los acontecimientos que la familia irá afrontando. Oliver, aunque parece un pez fuera del agua, recibe el respeto de casi toda la parentela.

La obsesión del protagonista con su nuevo amigo y anfitrión es narrada con una fotografía prodigiosa y un ritmo vivaz que elude todo aburrimiento. Es cierto que el metraje incluye escenas, por decirlo de una manera suave, "polémicas", pero la dirección de Emerald Fennell, también autora y productora (rol que también ejerce la actriz Margot Robbie) dota de gran belleza visual, utilizando frecuentemente una simetría que fascinaría a Stanley Kubrick, un cuento salvaje y audaz.

Well, we're here. Yes I had to talk about Saltburn, the recent release by Emerald Fennell. I can't remember a time where I've seen a film twice in the theater within a week. There was just something that grabbed me from the first trailer viewing that I knew I had to see this in the theater. 

Because I haven't shut up about it over the past two weeks I had to enlist both Charles and Mikey that I saw it with on two different occasions for this special episode. We talk about some crazy story points, the wild reactions to several scenes, and how I now worship at the altar of Barry Keoghan.

A Netflix liberou o teaser de Maestro, filme dirigido e estrelado por Bradley Cooper, onde veremos a vida do compositor Leonard Bernstein.

No filme veremos a conturbada relação de Bernstein com a atriz e ativista Felicia Montealegre. Durante muitos anos, o músico, que é famoso por compor a trilha de Amor, Sublime Amor e é considerado um dos maiores compositores da história, escondeu sua homossexualidade, vivendo vários casos amorosos com outros homens.

Além de dirigir e atuar, Bradley também coescreveu o roteiro ao lado de Josh Singer. Vale lembrar que esté é o primeiro trabalho de Bradley por trás das câmeras desde que estreou nessa função em Nasce Uma Estrela, de 2018. Já a produção conta com Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Fred Berner, Amy Durning e Kristie Macosko Krieger.

Além de Bradley Cooper, o elenco ainda conta com Carey Mulligan, Maya Hawke, Matt Bomer, Michael Urie e Sarah Silverman.
