For years I've not known what a broiler is, and I've been too afraid to ask
Kind of assumed they were some strange mystical American thing that we just don't have.
Anyway I finally decided to admit my ignorance and Google it and
It's a fucking grill
I've spent years trying to picture some kind of unknown, unimaginable kitchen equipment and it turns out it was just a grill all along wtf
#Also for some reason I guess bc broil sounds like boil I always kind of imagined broiling involved boiling in some way? But it doesn't#I'm so confused#See also: comforter#Wtf is a comforter?#This one I have googled in the past and I can't figure out what differentiates a comforter from a duvet or blanket or quilt or bedsheet#As in what makes it unique from all of those#But yeah it seemed stupid to not know what a broiler was so it always seemed easier to just nod along & pretend I knew#Even when it was just me alone reading a recipe and I could've just googled it like no-one would've known I had to Google it#But yeah idk I guess I imagined like idk some slow cooker style contraption?
