I just realized that calling Argus "Argus" instead of "Panoptes" or "Argus Panoptes" might be similar with calling Leonard Da Vinci "Da Vinci". Wrong, that is.

#Because Argus literally means “argive”. His actual surname was Panoptes and it means “all-eyes”.#I know that his parents didn't have any sort of inspiration when it comes to names.#But technically everyone from Argos should be called “Argus” since all of them are argives.#Similarly “Da Vinci” literally means “from Vinci”. It was simply ment to show where is Leonardo from.#And his whole “name” was “Lionardo di ser Piero da Vinci”.#I'm really rambling about names now am I not?#greek mythology #argus #ramblings
