#But she and Orin don't get the same energy as Astarion

Hot take: we don't need another sad white boy in media. I swear to the gods if I see one more sad white guy whose abuser is a BIPOC/BIPOC coded man I'm gonna commit arson. Most aren't bad story wise, but the trope is horrible for so many reasons and I am so tired of seeing it.

BG3 Details!👀
! SPOILERS ! BG3 is well known for its crazy level of details, sharing some that I find interesting and less mentioned! <3
Tumblr media
1. Stolen Lockets This small dialog in the grove has a lot of twist! It started as Meli stole Barth's locket and they were arguing about it. (1) Meli'd claimed he stole it because it looked like what his mother used to have and Barth'd gave it to the boy since he felt sorry for him. Then Meli ran off with a devilish chuckle SFX. But, did Meli lie? You could find the same locket on the dead tiefling in front of the trolls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(2) I only knew this from a YT video. Barth's mother stole the locket from someone else too!
youtube
2. Elminster speaks in a different tone if he's alone with Gale, or Gale is PC He has separated dialogs if Gale's alone/PC too. Also here's the audio track for comparison while he was casting Mystra's spell. I'd say he dropped the oh-mighty-wizard energy quite a bit it's funny 😂
3. I want to live 🎵 You can trigger 'I want to live' BGM by standing on the hill behind Astarion's tent at the first camp site, also the corner next to the ladder at Wyrm's lookout.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. You can poison goblin's booze tub in act 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All type of poison kills same amount of goblins so don't bother wasting the good ones XD And drow's does not but them to sleep, it would kill too.
5. You can save many last light inn's people If you wipe moonrise tower absolutely clean (except for the roof) before going into Shar's domain, they won't die on the bridge since there's no one for them to fight with. I killed all enemies included the eyes to get this result XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. You can't talk to people when you are silenced Duh, but wow!? The rule apply to most npc senarios too! I noticed this because the hag never begged to me until I dispelled the silence spell...!! You can't talk to your companion either, the talking action would be disabled.
7. Orin kills Zevlor if she has nobody to kidnap And left you a fancy painting of herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. The wood log next to Minsc tent is probably Boo's hamster house...! 🐹 It's model's name is BLD_Camp_Boo_A and it does look like a hamster house!!!🐹🏠🥹 SO! CUTE!!!

I swear I was just going back to collect some references for making my tent design kit...😅🤣

bg3 hunger games au please show me the headcannons if ur up for it <3
HELL YEAH!
So here's my headcanons for each of the characters, including my Dark Urge. I haven't put either of my Tavs in here yet, but I might later! I haven't really worked out where Jaheira and Minsc are, other than that they're older and beloved mentors.
Baldur's Gate functions like the Capitol, while Menzoberranzan is more like District 13- with an even darker twist, since they want to outright conquer the nation instead. (As opposed to in the books, where Coin was just being duplicitous about wanting power for herself.)
Baldur's Gate residents:
Cazador is very wealthy, even by capitolite standards. Keeping with the THG books' notes about victors being forced into prostitution, he primarily uses this wealth to buy out victors with Gortash's permission, all the better if he can be the first. But no matter how many he takes, Astarion is his favorite.
Halsin's Drow captors, much the same as Cazador, love to buy out rich victors, and they took a liking to Halsin in particular. They were from Menzoberranzan, but happened to be in Baldur's Gate the day the first war was lost, forcing them to stay and adapt. They don't mind terribly, though.
Gortash is the Grand Duke after forcing the Ravengards to leave in effectively a coup. He let Zariel, who ruled the nearby nation of Avernus, draft Karlach as a soldier before letting her return to her district.
Orin is, of course, behind most of the murders in the city. After discovering Minthara's attempt to investigate a series of defectors from Menzoberranzan, she took her and kept her prisoner.
Menzoberranzan residents:
Minthara, of course, aspires to be the one in power, especially if they take over Baldur's Gate. She has an intense dislike, but begrudging respect, for her mother. However, her plans to take over are ended when she discovered a group of Drow defected from Menzoberranzan and into Baldur's Gate. She tracked them down and was captured by Orin.
District 1 (luxury goods) residents:
Astarion couldn't be from anywhere else but the luxury District. He volunteered for his Games, thinking a lifetime of riches would be well-worth a few weeks of suffering, not knowing that Cazador was part of the package. He regrets volunteering every day after, especially as Cazador paid extra to Gortash to not let doctors heal his scars.
District 2 (masonry and peacekeepers):
Lae'zel volunteered the first Reaping she was eligible, despite another Githyanki being the one meant to volunteer. She rubbed it in their faces when she won, being one of the only ones that young to ever win.
District 3 (technology):
Gale managed to win despite his orb by attuning its magical energies to the blast mines, wiping out everyone who was at the bloodbath (mostly the strongest ones left) when he was a safe distance away. The others, he killed with advanced magic. After winning, he is so overcome with shame that he locks himself away, letting only Tara see him.
District 4 (fishing):
Wyll used to be from Baldur's Gate until Gortash engineered an 'accident' (poisoning that left Ulder mentally unfit to rule) and then had him and his son 'sent to 4 to recover' (exiled). To show that he wasn't playing favorites, he added Wyll's name to the pool of possible Tributes. Without the finances they once had to be able to manage Ulder's condition, Wyll volunteered for the games to save his father's life. And then afterwards discovered a patron from Avernus willing to help in exchange for Wyll serving her army.
District 7 (lumber):
Halsin is miserable in a district that primarily exists to fell trees. Before being reaped into the games, he managed to get himself a job planting new trees- until he became big and strong enough that the higher-ups said he had no choice. Then he got reaped for the Games and won by using his bear form to, put bluntly, maul the shit out of everyone there, which made it one of the highest-rated Games ever, him an adored figure in the Capitol (catching the attention of a Drow noble couple), and leaving him trauma that still persists into his middle age.
Kiaran is a happy volunteer for his Games, finding that his Urge to murder is starting to overwhelm him, and fearing what will happen if he gets caught committing murder outside of the one place he's allowed to do it. He killed so many other Tributes, most notably Alfira, in such brutal ways that most of the footage from his Games is never allowed to be broadcast again without heavy editing. However, he starts trying to fight the impulses after, when he sees Halsin, who treated him warmly before the Games, become horrified at him.
District 8 (textiles)
Shadowheart was kidnapped from her parents, who were attempting to flee to another nation now that she was old enough to run, and turned over to the local orphanage while her parents were captured and tortured in Baldur's Gate. The orphanage had been taken over by undercover Sharrans, who used it as a scheme to indoctrinate new followers into their cult.
District 12 (mining)
Karlach grew up objectively better than most in 12, but still poorer than most of everyone else in the country. To help her parents, she took a bodyguard job Gortash posted, open to all but based in the city, not knowing this would get her drafted into serving Zariel.

Tumblr media
Chapter 7: Three Conditions
The expression he donned was indescribable. Tav could detect so many things in the very same moment: regret, rage, boastfulness and then… sadness. Settling on a scowl one mere second later though, Enver shook his head.
"She'd rather gut me than letting me even consider fixing it."
"I'll talk to her."
Gortash stared at her for a long moment.
"On three conditions."
"Three?!"
"You've heard me."
Tav fought hard not to roll her eyes. She crossed her arms in front of herself with an expectant look on her face. Three conditions - they weren't much to give in exchange for her friend's life, but if it came to Gortash, who knew what he might ask for… Tav probably wouldn't sell her soul to a devil to save her, but she was willing to give this a try. After all, he couldn't claim her soul, at least, and that was a relief…
What was the worst to happen?
"I'm listening."
"One", Gortash raised his right index finger, then pointed at the Reaper's Embrace, "you're wearing the armour from now on."
Something stirred within her. What did he do to the armour, really? Why was it so important for him? She wondered… what was that dark purple gemstone he put in it's claws right over where one's heart would be?
Given the nature of their meetings Tav was trying to believe he wouldn't pull anything malicious when it came to her. But she couldn't be entirely certain. He'd tricked an innocent bard, after all, offering her gold in exchange for her "voice" – only for her to end up as a brain in a box. Surely, Tav shouldn't let her guards down, because she might find herself without a body, too.
That was the worst to happen.
She shuddered.
Still, she'd need Karlach with her, and perhaps she'd… tolerate Gortash more if he did them all such a favour. He'd ultimately save Karlach's life – of course, after he'd majorly fucked it up for her. In any case, if Tav wanted to really bring the fight to Orin, she needed Karlach. That was non-negotiable.
In short… she had no choice. Try and trust Gortash, or die.
"Fine. I'll wear it."
"Two: you'll visit me every day for dinner." Tav nearly smiled, as it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She could have the others stay at an inn and she'd sneak out every night without anyone knowing… that should do the trick. Free meals? So far, every meal she'd eaten with him was glorious. She'd be mad to turn that down. "And", he added when he sensed she was looking at it as good news, "we will work on your traumas to toughen you up."
The absurdity of it all!
"You have absolutely no idea what I had to face", she couldn't help it, she snapped. "The things I've seen and done-"
"Exactly", he nodded, "and we need to get those out of the way. You can't feel vulnerable in Bhaal's temple. We can't allow that to happen."
"I can take care of myself. Always did, always will."
"I know that, but will you allow me to do the same for you? You don't have to do this all alone."
She stared at him for a few long seconds, trying to determine how serious he was about this.
"Dinner sounds nice, the other – not."
Gortash knew he'd need to be cruel. This was, really, a small price to pay in the long run. If she could get rid of Orin for him, and brought him the Netherstones… he was willing to sacrifice his free time to work on her, so she could withstand anything she might face.
"You either do this for me, or I'm not fixing Karlach's engine. It's up to you."
She wanted to snarl at him for being so stubborn. He reminded her of Raphael, bringing back an old memory; that how Mol had freedom… to choose 'freely' the only one choice she had. Tav growled lowly.
"Okay. What else do you want to extort from me?"
Gortash smirked at her question.
"A kiss. Not now", he held his right hand up, then motioned between them, "on my own terms. Where I want, when I want."
Tav furrowed her brows, sensing some sort of trick. And, at the same time, she hated everything about him, even the motions he made with his hand when he was talking. Not for long enough, though.
"One single kiss?"
"Yes."
"That's it?"
"Yes", he nodded, and chuckled quietly at her confused expression.
"Fine", she ran a hand in her hair. "Anything else? Or are you finished taking everything from me?"
"My dear, the payments I require are nothing in comparison to what I'm ready to do... for you." He reached out to touch her towel clad waist, and pulled her close to himself before he kissed her deeply. Tav nearly melted at his confidence, in his embrace. She reached up to touch his face, and gently ran her thumb over his scar on his chin. Enver hummed before he pulled away. "It's late, and it's dangerous outside. Stay for the night."
"Do I have a choice?" She asked playfully.
"No", he smirked as his hand slid down on her body and grabbed her ass.
"I'd like to remind you that I do not belong to you", Tav murmured, trying hard to look just as confident as he did, but his closeness and his hands on her body were distracting.
"You needn't remind me. You're not cattle." Cocking a brow, his eyes darkened with something different, something she knew from their previous 'meetings'.
"Glad to hear that", she purred softly.
As a reply, Gortash grabbed the towel at her back and yanked it away from her form before he reached down and picked her up. She gasped as she instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck.
"…again?" Enver huffed in her neck, making her giggle when his breath tickled her skin.
"Oh, yes~"
It did not take long for him to relocate them in yet another lavish bedroom, but she didn't even really care where they were. He could've taken her in a bedroll in the middle of nowhere with nothing but their dinner to their names; the way he could make her feel was otherworldly and utterly dangerous.
Later on, she was thinking about that if anyone told her a month ago that she'd be laying comfortably in the arms of the Chosen of Bane, she would've laughed hysterically.
And yet, there she was. Nestled warmly against him. Tucked in, his arms and his blanket around her form. In his bed. In his bedroom. In his bloody palace.
And she'd never felt safer in her entire life.
Tav listened to the way he was breathing; rhythmically, calmly, his last words still hanging in the air when he was dancing between being awake and asleep.
"Together... we will be great."
He'd given her no reason to believe he was lying. So far, everything about him was surprisingly good; from their shared meals to the sheets, Gortash paid a lot of attention to what she liked. She didn't even need to say it out loud, and he knew. As if it was second nature for him. As if it was in his best interests to keep her satisfied and happy.
And it was, in fact, done in his best interests. He was doing this all to make her obey him. To make her submit to his will. To guide her. To prevent her from ever betraying him.
A part of her wanted to give in. She wouldn't need to do much, just follow his lead; let his hand guide her wherever he wanted her to be. Perhaps it'd be best, really; she was growing tired of being the leader, trying to hold her little band of vagabonds together, trying to figure out their next steps, trying to keep peace within the camp. Especially after how Astarion had left them. It'd be so much easier if she could just... lay back and let someone else do the brain work for once.
But she also was aware that Gortash was a Banite; the very Chosen of the God of Darkness, a god who valued people who crushed the weak under their boot.
Did Gortash see her weak? Was she?
Tav's brows twitched as she was questioning herself. From a point of view, she was. Gortash never needed to do much to get under her skin, but that wasn't entirely his fault. She simply couldn't help herself when she saw those dark eyes, messy hair and thick lips of his. And his voice. Gods, his voice. His brilliant, wonderful mind and well put-together plans - the fact he was ready to share everything he earned for himself with her of all people.
She closed her eyes.
I'll worry about my emotions later, she decided, I shouldn't let them distract me now. I'll enjoy this while it lasts.

I GOTTA know more about the Baldur’s Gate Singles Ward. And also, werewolf eats cereal.
[rips my shirt off] YEAH
My concept for a bg3 mormon au is basically that all the main companions are BYU students (write what you know, y'know) in the same ward with The Bishopric From Hell. Bishop Geddarm is fine, he's not super competent but he's kind and entertaining, but he's for some reason called as his counselors Brother Thorm and Brother Gortash. Orin is Gortash's freakazoid wife, and Thorm's wife is Shar--though she knows he's sleeping around on the side, and keeps quiet about it cus it's fun to watch him squirm.
The ward is still okay to be in, because the two main Sunday School teachers (Karlach and Wyll) are absolutely fantastic. She was raised in the church but fell away after coming out as bi as a teen, and then when Wyll met her on his mission she was at a point where she really needed it, and he was a good enough dude to actually honestly help rather than manipulatively pouncing on her misfortune to add a tally mark to his baptism record. They're a dream team of actually exploring doctrine in authentic and progressive ways, and breaking down all the harmful and sketchy nonsense we've all been raised with.
Shadowheart and Lae'zel are currently at the point where they've never questioned any of the church's sketchy nonsense, because they've never had need to--Shads is Brother & Sister Thorm's adopted daughter, who's actually lived in subconscious fear of questioning anything because her older stepsister Isobel was disowned for wanting to marry her wife. Lae'zel is similar, but her fear comes out as contempt for those who just don't have strong enough testimonies to stick it out. A lot of her attitude also comes from her being a certified Air Force Brat, but that's neither here nor there. She'll come around eventually.
Gale & Halsin are both converts, the former for his girlfriend and the latter for scout camp lol. Both technically too old for the ysa ward but shh don't tell anyone. Both prone to very long travelogues in testimony meeting. Both the uncontested kings of ward potlucks, though they never get competitive with one another. Until the chili cook-off. We don't talk about what happened the last chili cook-off.
Astarion has never really had a testimony ever. He's only at BYU because it's the only place his family would let him go to get away from them, and he goes to church & goes through the motions out of fear of getting in trouble & sent back home. But he might come around someday. Maybe. He does enjoy Karlach & Wyll's lessons.
i really really wanna draw them at some point because i have very specific lovely ideas for what they each would wear to church but i also have ten thousand other things i wanna draw and not enough energy or motivation so....someday ;v;
as for werewolf eats cereal i will make that a separate post because it's very very different in tone from this and also this is long lol so stay tuned mwah ily

*slides into you inbox* why hello there. I come bearing Tav qotd questions for the lovely Ezra <3
2 + 3 + 4 + 9 + 11
(xx - @zoneofsmites)
questions from Tav QOTD
wowza you gave me a lot to work with ily. this is going to be SO long agdjdkdk
2. What would their blood taste like to vampires?
So my headcanon is that because Ezra is a quasi-deity in his own right and just doesn't know it, his blood hits like chugging down pure ethanol. Maybe it doesn't necessarily burn a vampire's throat, but that shit is strong. Has less taste more pure, raw energy.
3. How would they kiss their LI?
Which one 😂 Because the answer differs. With Shadowheart he keeps things gentle, innocent because she gives him the worst Urge-induced intrusive thoughts and he's worried about losing control of himself and hurting her if things get too heated. Astarion he pretty much only ever kissed during the time when they were still sleeping together (they have a convoluted queerplatonic relationship past act 2 that is too complicated to explain here lol) and it was all bloodied lips and hunger back then. He was not that worried about hurting him because he believes Astarion to be able to go toe to toe with him pretty well and it's hard to worry about being a danger to someone who has their fangs in the vicinity of your throat. There's also Gortash, but with him things were different because he understood the nature of the Urge in a way no one post-tadpole has been able to wrap their heads around. They've known each other for a decade before Ezra got shanked by Orin and both of them knew how far they could push things back then. I think its safe to say there were sparsely ways in which they haven't kissed, but if he remembered it Ezra would probably say (in his head, never aloud) that the soft, most guilt-heavy kisses stolen whenever the opportunity for a peck on the lips presented itself, were his favourite.
4. How do they sleep with their LI (what position, does one steal the blankets, is one too hot/cold, etc)?
Ezra rarely ever sleeps during the events of the game for obvious reasons and when he does it's usually a case of him passing out the moment he sits down somewhat comfortably. You would often find him seated on the ground, Shadowheart on a log above him with her hand in his hair, while he naps slumped against her legs because he had fallen asleep while listening to the party talk. It's the only time he'd dare to close his eyes around her. However post-game, more or less free of the fear that kept him awake, I see him as a massive cuddler. Big spoon with no need to hoard the blankets because he is the blanket and Shadowheart's personal heater. With Astarion I don't think he's even aware they've ever shared a bedroll because that was something Astarion kept to himself, Ezra most of the time passed out from bloodloss because again, weird situationship. But post-game whenever they're on an adventure or share a bed back home, the deal is the same as with Shadowheart -- big spoon and heater. As for Gortash... I really don't think Ezra's overwhelming sense of guilt ever let him stay underneath his silk sheets after sex. He might've lingered a few times when explicitly told to or by accident, but there was no cuddling involved and unless he passed out, he wouldn't have slept a wink the entire night.
9. If they had to be put in a “get along shirt” with a companion, who would it be?
Ughh he's such a people-pleaser this question is honestly really hard to answer. But if he had to, I think it would be Lae'zel. Especially in act 2 and 3 when he seems to be straying further towards losing himself and that costs him a great chunk of her respect. But that's still more her being put into the shirt with him, not the other way around. He cares a lot about them all and any animosity is more likely to come from the opposite side.
11. What are their thoughts on clowns?
He thinks other people's strange and very strong dislike of clowns is the only funny thing about them, finds them stupid and unamusing himself, but considers a clown performance less about the performer and more about the company you bring to it. He enjoys going to the circus with people he can make fun of the entire thing with a great deal.
