On God I'm gonna start swinging a bat at a hornet's nest. If you say "oh I know all about the Once-ler fandom! I saw Sarah Z's video about it" no the fuck you don't know about the Once-ler fandom.
#Vent#The whole video is massively voyeuristic despite the fact that she claims to have been in the fandom#And the entire time she props it up as this insanely weird phenomenon despite it being a pretty clear logical conclusion of tumblr culture#Like at the time all its elements were common and normal within fandom tumblr#But it was a Seuss character and people had war flashbacks to the Jo-jo fandom so we were promptly bullied to all hell#If it really was because of the askblog/shipping culture then you'll have to explain why the immense bullying started BEFORE that took off.#But no let's gawk at how surface-level 'weird' these guys are. We're definitely good and nice people and cringe culture is dead#Like that's how yalls sound#If cringe culture is dead shut the fuck up#And like that isn't her only video to hold that mentality either tbh#She's very much a 'look at this WEIRD and UNFATHOMABLE side of the internet!' kind of essayist#As if that isn't a form of bullying by framing people that way and pretending you're above it.
