Gonna clarify some things about US election laws for felons:
- felons aren't allowed to vote generally but it actually differs by state
- felons not being allowed to vote actually sucks and has been shown to disproportionately restrict the rights of POC and communities under scrutiny of police
- so in new york felons are allowed to vote after serving whatever sentence they get, which is good because this mostly makes it easier for guys in for weed or whatever to have rights again after prison
- for Florida residents, felon voting rights defer to the state in which the felon was convicted
TLDR; Trump probably won't have trouble voting if he doesn't get prison sentencing, which we don't know yet.
