BUNK POSTER: SKETCHES
Had a talk with Saff the man who commissioned the poster, he asked for the poster to have a cocktails, chicken wings and their neon pink flamingo that they want as their symbol and recognisable symbol.
So i came up with these sketches to see gage an idea of what design style he wanted.
He liked the first one the most.

BUNK: FLAMINGO
Drew up my drawings and added in some colour but i don't think that it is as dramatic as Saf wants it to be so going to play around with the colours.

BUNK: RE-DO JUG
Drew out these sketches from the photo taking the composition from the designs i had previously created, combining my normal drawing style with a twist of the ‘Surf pro’ poster. I'm going to takes these and work from them in adobe indesign.
I need to work on the colour pallet choices trying not to use too many just as the Surf pro poster has is a very solid colour pallet.

BUNK: FLAMINGO
I moved onto the flamingo, getting the basic shapes and designs together. Saf said that he didn't want the chicken wings anymore and the flamingo would represent the food the flamingo is also in neon on the side of the bar.

BUNK: RESEARCH
Here are some of Bunks current poster and menues they have in the restaurant/ bar.
I want to keep my poster design along a similar sense of style and not to go too crazy but to allow the other designs to come through but still link back to these designs. I like the textures used to make it look like it was type set and printed, it suits the style of the restaurant, I'm gonna keep a similar colour pallet and add in lots of texture. I might have to take some of the colours used within the cocktail menu into my poster to liven it up and be in keeping with the poster Saf first showed me with the bold colours. as part of my research i actually went to the restaurant/ bar to get a feel for the vibe and have a look around at the general stye of the place. it was very chilled but with a fun quirky atmosphere there were only young adults and teenagers about, just a generally nice place to hang out and chill with friends.

BUNK: IAN JEPSON
Saf sent me the first image designed for Surf Pro by Ian Jepson and side that he would like the advertisement poster for Bunk to be in a similar style. All these posters are beautifully crafted with a very detailed style I'm definitely going to take inspiration form them but going to develop it along side my own style, i like what Jepson has done with creating his own illustrated type to go along with the team of each poster.
I'm looking forward to pushing and creating a more hand drawn look to my work gonna be fun to explore a new fun style

BUNK: BRIEF
so a lovely guy called Saf has asked me to create a poster for him to advertise some offers they are having at a edgy bar/ restaurant called Bunk in Nottingham. After speaking with him he wants an image of a cocktail, chicken wing and there neon flamingo that they would like to create into a little mascot.
Background: Bunk is a restaurant and bar in Nottingham that’s been around for a few years and soon to open a new restaurant in dearby. They specialise in cocktails and chicken wings in an underground setting under the city. They have a theme of red neon light and lots of plants with bear brick walls, a perfect edgy student vibe and to capture some good instrgram pic.
Objectives: The purpose of this advertising campaign is to promote that a new bunk restaurant will be opening soon. To engage and get people talking about it and interested in what it is and when it will arrive.
Target Audience: The target audience for this venue is 18 – 27 year olds, students at collage or university that are near by that want a place to hang out,
Tone of voice: The tone of vice for this design is fun young with lots of textures and eye catching, bold, quirky colours and drawn styling
Approaches: The key approaches I’m going to take with this design will be to have a bold clear logo and trying to incorporate as many as the elements and features that the client wants in the style they would like. As part of this I will keep the client up to date a s much as possible to make sure they are happy with the designs.
Media: one poster that will be printed and put up and displayed as well as shown online
Deliverables: I need to consider sizes needed, quality of the final image the deadline if one will be set and most importantly the audience.

BUNK: JUG
I also started on the re design of the mugs as well but i had set a deadline for myself to send off the newly designed poster and it was coming close to it so move the flamingo to the older designs that i had previously sent over, just swapping the flamingos over so that i wouldn't go over my own deadline. This is how far i got with the jug designs anyway.

BUNK: RE-DONE
I'm really happy with how this re work has progressed. Becoming not afraid of having such a contrast of colours to represent the shadows, i had to remind myself that it was the style they wanted.

Continued the same drawing style and taking inspiration from real flamingo photographs on google. Thinking more about detail and having more texture in my design.
