Picked up this #BullyFreeKids series (by Erin Frankel) from the library yesterday, and we read them all in one sitting. We had a great discussion about bullying from the perspectives of three different individuals involved in a single bullying situation. This was very eye opening for Z to get some insight why bullies may behave the way they do (TOUGH) based on their home, environment, and coping skills. The DARE book shows how not standing up for what's right can DO more harm to the situation even to the witness who doesn't say anything. The WEIRD book shows how bullying can break a person down who isn't confident in who she/he is as an unique individual. All three books end on a very positive note on how bullying can be resolved for everyone involved. We enjoyed the books and the lessons gained about bullying for young children to easily comprehend. The illustrator (Paula Heaphy) did an amazing job capturing the real emotions in each individual. #welldone #highlyrecommended #bookreview #bully #bullying #coping #characterbuilding #children #stopbullying #mentalhealth #awareness #childrenbooks #elementaryschool #todaysyouth #community #supportoneanother
