yay I can finally post this!! this is my secret santa for @sillylilili ! I did this back in November just so I wouldn't forget :3 (I couldn't decide which colours I liked so here's both versions)

The salty breeze swept gently over the deck as the sun dipped low on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of fiery orange, soft pink, and gold. The ship swayed ever so slightly with the calm waves, and the distant cries of gulls faded into the serene silence of the moment.

Buggy sat cross-legged on the deck, his flamboyant coat draped across his shoulders, but his usual theatrical energy was replaced with something much softer. His long blue hair caught the warm light of the sunset, glowing almost as brightly as the grin that tugged at his lips.

Beside him, you leaned back, your arms stretched behind you to steady your relaxed form. Your gaze was fixed on the horizon, but the faint smile playing on your lips hinted that your attention was divided between the sunset and the man at their side.

Buggy shifted slightly, resting his chin in his palm as he turned to look at you. His mischievous eyes softened as he watched you, the light dancing in your hair, your face calm and beautiful in the fading glow of the day. He didn’t say anything at first, just letting the moment linger, his heart swelling with a quiet emotion he rarely let himself feel.

“You know,” Buggy finally said, his voice unusually soft, “The sunset’s nice and all, but it’s got nothing on you.”

You turned to him, your smile growing, a playful glint in their eyes. “That’s pretty smooth for someone who usually shouts their feelings to the entire crew.”

Buggy chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “What can I say? You bring out my softer side,” He said with a wink, though there was no mistaking the sincerity in his tone.

You leaned closer, your shoulder brushing against his, and tilted your head to rest it lightly on his arm. The warmth of his presence mixed with the cool sea breeze, creating a perfect balance.

“I think you’re the most beautiful thing out here,” You murmured, their voice barely above a whisper.

Buggy blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the simple, heartfelt compliment. A faint blush dusted his cheeks, and he quickly looked away, though his grin only widened.

“Well, obviously,” He teased, his voice cracking slightly. “I mean, look at me. But… coming from you, I think I’ll believe it.”

You laughed softly, and Buggy couldn’t help but laugh along with you. The sound blended with the gentle rhythm of the waves, filling the quiet space between them.

As the sun dipped lower, its light fading into the soft twilight, Buggy reached out hesitantly, his gloved hand brushing against yours. When you didn’t pull away, he laced his fingers with yours, holding on tightly as though anchoring himself to the moment.

“You know,” Buggy said, his voice quiet but steady, “I don’t think I’ve ever had a moment like this before. Just… peaceful. Perfect.”

You turned to him, your eyes meeting his, and you smiled. “Then let’s make more of them,” You said simply.

Buggy’s grin softened into something almost shy, and he squeezed your hand. “Deal.”
