Hey everyone! I haven’t been active on any of my art socials anymore, and all I can chalk it up to really is that I’m in my senior year of undergrad and preparing to graduate. A lot of things have happened in my life and I haven’t been able to keep up with art as much! I appreciate everyone who has stuck around through my intermittent posts and lacking art haha. My biggest updates are that I have unfortunately lost both Beefsteak and Buford.

Beefsteak died of old age, False tomato frogs only live to be 4-5 and he was 4 when he passed. I miss him so much as he was my first ever pet that was solely mine. He kept me sane my freshman year of college through a GAD and panic disorder diagnosis plus multiple hospitalizations.

Buford was also a big part of my life. She passed recently because of a flare up of atadenovirus that she could not beat and ended up passing of it after multiple vet visits and assurances that she was in peak health besides the virus. She only made it to 2.5. I miss her horribly and am so upset at having to lose her so abruptly.

I am balancing 6 jobs right now plus finishing up my degree. I’m hoping to secure a masters program sometime soon. I appreciate yalls support through everything and although I don’t check on my socials much anymore, the notifs I do see always make my day. I will still post intermittently while I figure out my actual adult life and future but some of yall have been here since I was 17… I just turned 22! Isn’t that wild??? Art is still therapeutic to me, especially through how crazy life has been.

McFly July 16 🌲🌲- Synchronicity

Synchronicity [noun]: the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection. Marty wondered if playing that arcade game in Cafe 80s was a sign.

Back in his Hill Valley, Marty was a wiz at the arcade. He’d go out with the band some weekends and played with the goal of getting his initials on every cabinet’s high score read-out. Sometimes he didn’t have a lot of money for tokens, so he went all-in with each attempt. Paul could get to the end of Donkey Kong without blinking, Bobby always beat him at the Space Invaders, and Lee was insane at Pac-Man. Marty saw him break the game by going for so long it just couldn’t handle it.

Marty’s game of choice? Wild Gunman.

He didn’t know why his reaction time was so insane, but it extended way beyond video games. He could turn on a dime and take off running in less than a second, and he knew how to recognize the sound of the garage door opening and race to his room in less than a minute. All that Wild Gunman did was actually time just how good Marty’s reflexes were.

When he saw the cabinet for Wild Gunman in Cafe 80s, he had to give it a go. He thought the kids would be impressed—look at this guy, taking out three cowboys in less than two seconds!—only for them to be annoyed that the game had to be played with their hands. Tough luck, Marty thought. They were young. They just couldn’t appreciate the pure skill that had been put on display.

Now, though, Marty was standing in 1885 (a different 80s from the futuristic cafe, but an 80s all the same) holding a very real, very heavy, insanely deadly gun, and the idea of playing Wild Gunman barely a day ago made his gut twist.

Marty had never held a real gun before. He’d seen them, sure. He’d watched The Godfather and Dirty Harry too many times to count. He’d even had a gun pointed at him by Biff in that alternate 1985. But holding one—a real, live gun—was different. He could feel the handle digging into his palm, hear the chamber spin as it was reloaded for him. The bang as he pulled the trigger and hit a distant target made him flinch, and the gun nearly flew out of his hands from the recoil.

Buford Tannen wanted a duel. Marty knew he had the reaction time to probably hit him dead on, if Wild Gunman was any indication. He even had the aim, if that shot put into the target wasn’t beginner’s luck.

Maybe that last game in the cafe was a sign—predestination or something’ like that. Marty’d never been a religious guy, but it’s hard to see point A leading to point B and not think something greater was at play. He really hoped it wasn’t, because as shitty as Buford Tannen was, Marty dreaded being the one to pull that trigger.

I just remembered I had this poll lol. My Sweet Ride is the winner. By a lot.

Which is fair. I mean. It has it all. Cute Candace and Jeremy, Lawrence doing something for his daughter (I think their relationship is severely underrated), Phineas and Ferb doing something nice for Candace, and her appreciating it back is always nice to see. Cool song. Fun aesthetic. Peak Flynn-Fletcher family, and helps show who they are outside of the whole normal busting dynamic.

Second place is Escape From Phineas Tower, which I'm a bit more preferential to personally. But I've already talked about that. Phineas and Ferb dealing with the consequences of their own actions because their kind of dumb. The rest of the backyard kids going "Hold up" for once, and then showcasing how casual they are with Candace.

Third place was Nerds of a Feather, which I mostly included to get some season 2 representation. But I do really like that episode. Candace getting to do something she loves that isn't Jeremy or brother related. Her having people accept her, despite things she is insecure about. Also shades of Buford's inner film nerd. Suzy Candace hug. Talking Zebra. (Also with all of the new material we've gotten since that episode, a revisit of that convention could be really fun).

Least was Mind Share, which makes sense compared to what else was here. But I will always love any time Candace has to rescue her brothers. This episode helps inform how I assume their relationship is post summer. The "What do you want me to do" and "It's been a long summer kid" has a permanent place in my mind. And it's a nice contrast to how Candace responded to crises in season 1. I also personally like this episode for the same reasons I like Escape from Phineas Tower. The boys dealing with the consequences of their own dumb decisions. I also didn't grow up with cable, but I got to see promos for this episode, so it was one of the few episodes that I actually got to get hyped for instead of it just appearing on Netflix one day.

jfksbfj fair enough I just got the idea for that in my head and really wanted to do it lol. One Tango of the clan Tek coming right up!

First impression - was during s7 so I was hugely impressed by his redstone and like fully in love with his base concept. Always wanted to watch his pov but I never got around to it rip. Don’t even get me started on decked out my god how did he even do that. His voice is so nice.

Impression now - he’s absolutely insane oh my god I love him /p. That post that’s like tango does nice redstone that doesn’t make sense so true. I want to study him I want to lock him in one of those big butterfly exhibits in museums I want to spray him with windex. He is tied with Pearl for Most Noise but in the opposite direction if that makes sense. I keep meaning to watch his pov but haven’t gotten the chance to but after this I think I really need to bump him up

Favorite moment - literally any time he makes a cartoon noise. Why is this man pulled straight out of a late 00s cartoon that aired on Boomerang. This should maybe have gone under impression but it’s ok

Idea for a story - I just had the stupidest idea ever ok bear with me. Phineas and ferb au, evil Xisuma is dr. Doofenshmirtz, zedaph is perry (bc worm man), tango and impulse are phineas and ferb respectively. Oh my god helsknight is Vanessa, welsknight is Candace. Xisuma is Lawrence. Joe and Cleo are Baljeet and buford. Idk who would be Isabella but it would be platonic ofc. You know what let’s just say all the relationships in this au are platonic actually no hermitshipping for me tyvm <3. I don’t have enough brainpower to cast the rest of them someone help. WAIT MAJOR MONOGRAM IS DOC!!! Ren is Carl the intern. Ok I might be done now.

Random opinion - I think he needs more appreciation for his s7 “mini” games tbh. Decked Out???? Among Us?????? I want all of the mcyt community to know what this absolutely insane (/pos) man did and I really hope he gets more recognition this season when he finishes Decked Out 2
