Rookie-Critic's Top 25 Films of 2022: #7: RRR (dir. S. S. Rajamouli)

I can't even begin to describe how much fun I had while watching RRR. To call this film a roller coaster ride of action and emotion would be a criminal understatement. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Bollywood/Tollywood films, more out of ignorance than anything else, really. It just always seemed like an impenetrable wall of wacky stories, musical numbers, and offbeat camerawork. It just never seemed like my kind of thing, so I've never really taken the dive into that world. This film single-handedly turned that opinion around, and now I'm hungry for more. The story of two friends who, unbeknownst to each other, are actively trying stop the other from accomplishing their goal is packed to the brim with unforgettable action sequences as well as musical numbers that, and I can't stress enough how much I normally don't like this kind of thing, are some of the best I've ever seen in film. With a runtime slightly exceeding three hours, I can honestly say I was never once bored. This film is entertaining, it's moving, it's inspiring, it's funny, and most importantly, it's exceptionally well-made. Director S. S. Rajamouli (who, unbeknownst to me until after I finished the film, directed the only other Tollywood film I've seen and loved, Eega) is a master craftsman behind the camera, and the cinematography (done by K. K. Senthil Kumar) is phenomenal. The action sequences are awe-inspiring, the musical numbers are fun when they need to be (see the Academy Award-winning song "Naatu Naatu" for confirmation) and moving when they need to be, the dramatic scenes hold the perfect amount of drama without slipping into camp or melodrama. Almost everything about RRR works. Even the English-language actors do a pretty good job which, from what I've seen of big-budget foreign cinema that employs English-language actors, that is not always the case. They're not the most subtle or eloquent actors in the world, but they play their parts well, and nothing about RRR is subtle, anyway (although it is eloquent). This film is brash and bold and as in-your-face as it can be, but the whole time it's doing this you are absolutely along for the ride. I said this in my original review and I will say it again here, I am purposefully talking around plot-specific details because I am of the strong opinion that everyone should walk into RRR as blind as possible for the maximum amount of enjoyment to happen. It's so much better when you have no idea how over-the-top it can get, and trust me, you have no idea how over-the-top this can get. I absolutely hate the fact that Netflix owns the North American distribution rights for this film, because that means it will probably never get a Region 1 Blu-ray (or, even sadder, a 4K edition), and I am forever stuck with either watching the Telugu-language file I have, or watching the Hindi-dubbed version of the film on Netflix. It's a shame, because that is absolutely one of the best films of last year and without a doubt the best action film of last year.

Gusto ko lang munang sabihin, sana masamid at bilaukan ang mga scalpers in the guise of ticket assistance. Sobrang daming midzy’s na hanggang ngayon wala pa ring tickets para sa concert.

Anyways, heto na yung bunga na gawing coping mechanism ang kpop stanning para sa acads. Hindi ko alam kung ilang regalo pa sa sarili ko at ang linyang “I deserve this” ang gagawin ko. Pero ayon masyadong maigsi ang buhay para sa what if’s, kung kaya naman at within reasonable budget edi go na. Tsaka heto lang naman kinaya ng ipon ko. HAHAHA.

Last October nag release na ng event schedule yung JYP for ITZY, at first hesitant ako kasi sa leaks na mag coconcert din ang Twice this December satin. Pero may kaklase akong may tita na concert organizer na nagsesecure ng contract with Twice at sinabing sa bulacan arena yung event. Knowing na hindi accessible edi ito na ang nagpush sakin na piliin ang ITZY. (Oo lumalabas ang pagka JYP stan ko. Hehe).

Yung experience at journey ko para maka secure ng ticket, hindi pa nagsysync in talaga sakin ngayon. Siguro for keeps at magiging memorable ito sa lifetime ko dahil first ever concert ko ito at first time ko lumabas ng comfort zone ko para dito.

Noong pre-selling sobrang aga kong gumising at nakatitig sa laptop ko para sure agad na makapasok agad. Pero dahil bulok ang website ng live nation at ang malalang SM ticket queue. Lahat ng mura at hinanakit sa mundo nalabas ko ata, after 30 mins sold out na lahat agad at yung makikita mo sa twitter wts, ticket assistance, pasabuy. Gets ko yung iba legitimate na out of kindness kaya to ginagawa pero kasi tangina naman bakit kailangan i hoard yung tickets. Nawawalan ng chance na makabili yung ibang passionate at dedicated stans from the start. Ayun sinawing palad ako na 8k sa queue, noong nakapasok ako ubos na lahat at noong itatry kumuha sa gen ad at upperbox ay napagsaraduhan na ko. Funnily yung friend ko na wala naman balak manood naka secure ng lower box at gen ad. Sobrang tempted na ko na kunin yung lower box pero kasi mag oover board ako sa budget at hindi na reasonable. Sabi ko ihold niya muna yung both dahil magririsk na kong pumila for the first time in my life. Baka lang din leo pride ko na gustong makuha ang gusto kong seating section though. At the same time secured na ko somehow with the gen ad. Still I wanted something else talaga.

So moving forward naghanap ako ng mga midzy’s na gumagawa ng gc para sa unofficial queue line sa Nov 12. Yung pinaka malapit kong nasipat ay yung sa SM Telebastagan sa may Angeles, meron din naman nagtatangka sa SM Pampanga kaso ang kaunti at nakakatakot na mag risk dahil mamaya dedmahin ng guard at staff. Ayun edi nakisali na ko sa gc at nag g na pumunta ang kaso lang first time kong pupunta ng SM Telebastagan at legit na ngangapa ko sa landmarks at route. Still para sa ITZY willing ako mag all out, ang napag usapan na sanang call time ay 5am na thankfully nausog ng 6am. Pagod pa ko from the pre-selling spectacle pero sabi ko gorabels na talaga lumuwas ng maaga para walang regrets. Ayun lumuwas ako ng around 5:30am at nakarating ng San Fernando at around 6am at nagmamadaling sumakay pa Angeles to SM Telebastagan. Alam mo yung literal feeling ng ang lamig ng tyan mo kasi baka late ka na at marami ng nakapila sa unofficial queue, ngayon ko lang na experience ang kaba habang bumabyahe talaga. Noong nakarating naman na ko ay pang 7th ako sa pila. Ang susunod ko na lang worry talaga ay ang pakikipag unahan namin sa mga iba pang nakapila sa other SM branches & online people.

I feel like as a first time semi camper along with the pandemic effects, hindi malala yung experience ko compared noong pre-pandemic concerts. Hindi kami maraming nakapila dito and sobrang chill lang, ngayon lang ata nag kick in yung pagiging introvert ko ulit at di ako masyadong naki interact sa mga nakapila din. Literal na patay oras lang kami sa SM Telebastagan mula 6am - 9am. Though noong 9am na medyo panicked na ulit kami kasi yung ibang fans nasa loob na ng mall nakapila at kami nasa labas pa rin, at around 9:40am siguro pinag line up na kami at nireready na pumasok. Dito na namin nafefeel na sana makakuha ng ticket at mag pay off ang pag camp out namin. Kasi teh ang lala yung isa samin 1:22am pa lang nandoon na ata at naka park yung sasakyan niya.

Medyo naglalag na yung brain ko at 9:50am habang papasok na kami ng department store ng SM at sa ticketing. Doble doble na yung panglalamig ko kasama yung sa aircon ng SM. Saktong 10am nagsimula ng itake yung seating na gusto namin, feeling ko nagpapanic na rin mga staff ng SM dahil hindi na nasama yung desired seat and row basta yung position na lang sa MOA arena. Lahat kami kabado at heto na nga ang side chika yung nauna samin nagkaroon ata sila ng miscommunication ng cashier at napunch sa kanya ay lowerbox instead of VIP kasi wala pang ilang minuto sold out na agad yung VIP nanaman. I feel bad for that person, pero todo dasal akong wag maubos yung desired seating view ko. Lahat naman tayo alam yung feeling ng grief na hindi makuha yung gusto mo and ako hindi ko talaga alam gagawin pag naubos yung preferred kong seating section. Sobrang dama ko yung tension ng nasa harapan ko at nasa likuran ko, yung self-talk at whispers at matinding dasalan. Yung emotions at atmosphere sa loob ng service section sa department store. Sobrang hindi ko malilimutan yung feeling na to.

Sooooo obviously spoiled na sa pictures na nakuha ko yung desired seats ko talaga kahit na may changes lang sa section. Wala naman akong magagawa kasi sobrang panget pa rin ng concert ticketing system dito satin. Sobrang guminhawa lahat ng kalamnan at buong pagkatao ko noong inabot na sakin ng cashier yung ticket ko, sobrang nginig ako sa bigat ng ticket at journey na ginawa ko para maka secure nito habang ang gaan naman na ng wallet ko. HAHAHA.

Definitely one for the books itong first ever experience ko sa panonood ng concert and definitely won’t be the last time. Here’s to newer experiences in life talaga!

Ang tumataas na halaga o cost ng edukasyon at mga problemang pinansyal na kinakaharap ng mga Pilipino ang isa sa mga pangunahing dahilan ng paglaki ng porsyentong ito ayon sa parehong pagsusuri. Ang Philippine Constitution na mismo ang nag-utos na gawing prayoridad ang edukasyon sa usapang badyet at pagpopondo. Subalit, sa kabila ng pagiging isa sa mga sektor na nabibigyan ng pinakamalaking pondo taon-taon, nananatiling hindi accessible o abot-kamay ang edukasyon para sa maraming Pilipino. Long post ahead. Gusto ko lang talaga i-share yung recent travel ko dito and kung bakit ako nag decide na mag bakasyon dito kahit ang mahal mahal mahal mahal niya. hahaha. 

Back in October, nag ddrama yung kuya ko na namimiss niya na daw kami and gusto niya na umuwi. Kaso nga lang ang mahal ng ticket pauwi and 3 silang uuwi din kung sakali. Roughly, nasa 10k aed ung gagastusin nila, ticket pa lang. Kaya hindi sila maka-uwi uwi dito sa Pinas. Lagi din niya kami inaaya na mag bakasyon don, dalawin naman daw namin siya ganyan. Napagkwentuhan namin yon ni mama sabi ko, kawawa naman si kuya kasi nga homesick na siya samin. Then, out of nowhere nag sesearch ako ng flight papuntang UAE na. Nung una, casual browsing lang talaga, nag canvass lang kung magkano ba magagastos ko kung sakali. Hanggang sa pati sila mama at papa naghahanap na din ng murang flight tickets sakin papunta don. Sabi talaga ni mama sakin “sige na, pumunta ka na don kay kuya mo. kawawa naman, namimiss na tayo.” Edi okay na, decided na ko pumunta. Sinabi ko na sakanya na pupunta na nga ako don, magbabakasyon ganyan. Pag sinasabi ko kasi sakanya yon lagi niya lang reply sakin “Sus, puro ka ganyan eh.” which is totoo naman kasi ilang years niya na ko inaaya na mag work nga don hahaha. After nung Coron trip namin last November mas naging dedicated akong maghanap ng murang tickets talaga. Nagtataka nga ako bakit di nila ko inaasikaso nung wife niya, yun pala hindi sila naniniwala sakin hahahaha nakakaloka. Kaya yung kinulit ko sila ng kinulit na pupunta ako don, saka lang sila naniwala kasi everyday ko sila binubulabog talaga. Sabi nung wife ni kuya na sila na mag bobook sakin kasi may kilala silang agency don sa Abu Dhabi para magbabayad na lang ako tapos sila na bahala sa visa, ticket, and travel insurance. Hanggang nung Nov 17 nakuha ko na ung RT tickets ko. Pinaplano ko yung budget ko and all. Gumawa na ko ng time schedule ko para organized lahat. Nag research ako ng mga gusto kong puntahan kasi 10 days ung bakasyon ko. Iniisip ko din kung keri ko ba bumyahe mag-isa? haha kasi sanay akong may kasama eh. Hindi ba ko maliligaw kasi bobo ako sa lugar talaga. Mga ganon hahaha pag iniisip ko ngayon natatawa ako.

Naeexcite ako at the same time kinakabahan at nasstress kasi sa dami kong nababasang offload stories sa DIY travel. Hindi ako aware na may offload pala, kasi nung nag SG naman kami before pandemic walang ganon. Ang smooth nga lang eh. Kaya ayon, imbes na maexcite ako ng bongga, stress ako. Dumaan yung Christmas and New Year, lagi nang sinasabi sakin ni kuya and nung wife niya na “see you soon”. Dumating ang January, sobrang busy ko na nito, kasi punong puno ung schedule ko. kailangan namin bumili ng mga bilin nila, bumili ng mga pasalubong namin sakanila, kalangan ko makuha ung COE, bank statements tsaka yung gagamitin kong budget sa travel. Thankful din talaga ako sa VUL kasi ung investment ko don ung ginamit ko na fund. Wala akong nilabas sa main savings ko. Yung ticket ko, ang binayad ko don ung ipon ko sa cimb namin last 2022.

 Niloloko pa namin si kuya na hindi siya excited na pupunta ako don hahaha kasi sobrang busy sa work amp, di makausap ng matino. Yung wife niya ung hands on sa mga kailangan kong gawin eh hahaha ang sabi lang sakin ni kuya “wag kang kabahan”. nkklk. ff, ang next na nakaka stress ay yung pag eempake. Feb 4 nag start na ko mag empake, nilatag ko na ung mga ootd eme ko talaga, inayos ko na din sa mga organizer ganyan, nilagay ko na din sa maleta ko para konting ayos na lang SANA.  20kg lang din kasi yung pina add ko dito kasi di naman ganon kadami ung dadalin ko. Kaso, mali pala kasi shuta excess ng 3kg haha, forda ayos at tanggal kami ng mga gamit ko sa maleta hanggang sa gabi before ng flight ko (feb 8) nasstress kami kasi yung jelly ace na para kay Alei gusto ni mama na dalin yung lalagyan nung jelly ace. Jusko ang bulky non kaya nag talo muna kaming tatlo hahaha. Pati ung wife ni kuya nastress din ata samin ahaha kasi sabi ko papa add na lang ako baggage sa agency ganito ganyan. Buti na lang nagawan ng paraan. Puyat kami nito kasi 11pm nag aayos pa kami ng maleta eh tapos aalis kami ng bahay ng 3:30am kahit na 9am pa ung flight ko.  Ang lala diba. Wala kasing online checked in si Cebu Pac kaya pila malala talaga.

Sa kasalukuyang yugto ng taon kung saan dama ng bawat Pilipino ang pagtaas ng klima saang mang panig ng bansa, ang Baguio City, Benguet, Philippines ay isa sa mga lugar na dinarayo ng mga turista. Sa bulubundukin ng Cordillera sa hilagang Luzon matatagpuan ang lungsod ng Baguio. Ang Baguio City ay ang dating kabisera ng Benguet, mula 1901 hanggang 1916, hanggang sa gawin itong chartered city. Sa paglipas ng panahon, nanatiling kilala ang lugar na ito bilang Summer Capital of the Philippines dulot ng mababang klimang taglay nito. Dagdag pa rito, ang lugar na ito ay tinangkilik ng nakararami sapagkat matatagpuan dito ang mga magagandang tanawin, pasyalan, kakaibang mga pagkain, at natatanging mga kultura. Ang Burnham Park ay isang sikat na pasyalan sa Baguio City na binubuo ng maraming mga aktibidad na maaaring tangkilikin ng kahit na anong edad. Ito’y isang kilalang atraksyon na binibisita maging ng mga lokal ng lungsod. Kabilang sa mga aktibidad na aking ginawa rito ay ang pagbibisikleta at pamamangka sa isang artipisyal na lawa. Karamihan sa mga manlalakbay na nasa lugar ay una itong pinupuntahan. Sa aking pananatili sa atraksyong ito ay masasabi kong sa bawat pagpadyak ng bisikleta at paghawi sa tubig gamit ang sagwan ay nakapaghahatid ito ng hindi maitatagong saya at sigla ng isang batang malayang naglalakbay sa gitna ng kamusmusan. Ang Burnham Park ay maituturing kong isang pasyalang makapagpapabalik ng mga manlalakbay sa panahon ng kabataang minsan nilang naranasan.

Isa sa mga pinakakilalang simbahan sa Baguio City ang Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral. Bagaman ang simbahang ito’y hindi nagtataglay ng mga atraksyong mahahanap sa ibang mga pasyalang nasa lungsod, isa naman itong makabuluhang lugar na nakapaghandog sa amin ng gabay sa kabuuang oras ng aming paglalakbay.

La Trinidad Strawberry Farm

Ang La Trinidad Strawberry Farm na matatagpuan malapit sa Baguio City ay isa ring pasyalang dinudumog ng maraming mga tao sapagkat dito matatagpuan ang isang kabukirang puno ng mga strawberry na nagsisilbing isa sa pinakamalaking impluwensya sa pagkakakilanlan ng lungsod. Sa atraksyong ito ay aking naranasan at nasaksihan ang kulturang kinagisnan ng mga taong naninirahan dito. Naranasan at nalaman ko kung paano mamitas ng mga strawberry at lakbayin ang kapaligirang taglay ang mga halamang hindi kilala sa ibang mga lungsod.

Botanical Garden

Isa ring kilalang atraksyon sa Baguio City ang Botanical Garden kung saan binubuo ito ng mga kainan at mga pasyalang sumasalamin sa kultura ng lungsod. Dagdag pa rito, kaming mga manlalakbay ay maraming mga makabuluhang bagay na natutunan katulad ng pagkilala sa mga bulaklak at puno, mga lokal na sagradong halaman, at mga pambihira o rare na mga halamang matatagpuan sa Botanical Garden. Ito’y isang magandang pasyalang nakapaghandog ng kaalaman sa akin bilang isang manlalakbay na naglalayong makatuklas ng mga bagay na higit sa aking kapasidad.

Sa pasyalang ito rin ay aking nasaksihan ang mga bagay na sumasalamin sa kultura ng Baguio City. Labis na napukaw ang aking atensyon ng isang photobooth kung saan maaaring magsuot ang mga manlalakbay ng damit na bahagi ng kultura ng lungsod. Ang mga ito ay ang bahag para sa lalaki at tapis para sa mga babae.

Ang lungsod ng Baguio ay kilala rin bilang isang lugar na sagana sa mga gulay at prutas, kung kaya’t taglay nila ang mga presyong tinatangkilik ng mga manlalakbay. Ang pamimili ng mga gulay at prutas sa Baguio City ay isa sa mga aktibidad na hindi pinapalampas ng karamihan. Sa kasalukuyang panahon kung saan ang presyo ng bilihin sa mga karaniwang mga bilihan ay hindi maikakaila ang labis na pagtaas, ang pamimili sa lungsod na ito ay tunay na makabuluhan para sa mga Pilipino.

Mga Kilalang Pagkain Sa Baguio City

Kilala rin ang Baguio City bilang isang lungsod na nagtataglay ng mga pagkaing hindi matatagpuan sa ibang mga lugar. Kabilang dito ang peanut brittle, choco flakes, ube jam, at lengua de gato na binibili ng karamihan bilang pasalubong. Dagdag pa sa kilalang mga pagkain ay ang pinikpikan, Cordilleran chicken soup, at Baguio-style bagnet. Sa tulong rin ng kanilang pagkakakilanlan sa strawberry, pumatok rin ang mga pagkaing kaakibat ito, katulad ng strawberry jam, strawberry ice cream, at strawberry taho.

Ang mga ito ay ilan lamang sa mga pagkaing nagdikta ng pagkakakilanlan ng lungsod, kung kaya’t maituturing ko ito bilang mga pagkaing nararapat na maranasan ng kahit na sinong manlalakbay. Ang mga pagkaing ito ay direktang sinasalamin ang lungsod sapagkat ang mga ito’y hindi karaniwang makikita sa mga lugar na nasa labas ng lungsod ng Baguio. Hindi ko pinalampas ang pagkakataon kung kaya’t ang bawat pagkaing sa lungsod na iyon lamang matatagpuan ay aking sinubukan upang lalong mapalalim ang aking pagkakakilala sa lugar na iyon. Naging makabuluhan ang aking paglalakbay sa Baguio City sapagkat puno ito ng mga hindi malilimutang mga atraksyon, ngunit ang mga pagkaing taglay nito ay mayroon ring mahalagang papel na tumutulong upang lalong mapagtibay ang aking pagtangkilik sa lungsod na ito.

Mga Souvenirs

Bukod sa mga pagkain, ang Baguio City ay mayroon ding mga kagamitang maaaring bilhin na magsisilbing ala-ala sa makabuluhang karanasan ng mga manlalakbay. Kabilang dito ang walis, keychain, bag, tsinelas, at marami pang iba na tunay na papahalagahan ng sinumang makatatanggap. Bagaman ang mga gamit na ito ay mistulang mga simpleng bagay na maaaring makamtan sa kahit na anong lungsod, ang pagkakaroon ng alinman sa mga souvenirs na ito ay maihahandog ang mga karanasan at pakiramdam sa isang lugar na katulad ng Baguio City.

Ang paglalakbay sa Baguio City ay isa sa mga pinakamakabuluhang karanasan sa aking buhay. Higit sa mga pasyalan at pagkain, hindi masusukat na kaalaman ang naihandog sa akin nang masaksihan ko ang kultura, pamumuhay, at pagkakakilanlan ng lungsod. Naging masaya ang bawat oras na namuhay ako sa isang lungsod na malayong-malayo sa kung ano ang aking nakagisnan. Ang mga souvenirs na aking iniuwi ay makapagpapa-alala sa akin ng ilang araw na pamumuhay sa lungsod na ito, ngunit ang mga kaalamang aking iniuwi ang syang mag-uukit sa aking ala-ala na minsan akong naging musmos muli. Sa maikling panahon ng aming pananatili sa lungsod, naramdaman ko ang kaligtasan at kaginhawaang tanging tahanan lamang ang nakapaghahatid. Ang mga atraksyon, pagkain, aktibidad, kultura, at pamumuhay na aking nasaksihan ay tila pinahihinto ang pag-ikot ng mga kamay ng orasan. Higit sa lahat, ang mga aktibidad na aking naisagawa at mga pagkaing aking nasubukan ay isang kayamanan, ngunit higit na maituturing kong kayamanan ang mga sandaling kasama ko ang aking pamilya sa pagbalik sa aking kabataan habang nilalakbay at tinutuklas ang mga tinatagong yaman at kaalamang sa Baguio City lamang matatagpuan.

PAGBABALIK TANAW: ANG AKING MGA KARANASAN SA CITY OF PINES

Ang paglalakbay ay isa na sa mga nakagawian ng aking pamilya, lalo na sa mga magagandang lugar at tanawin dito sa Pilipinas. Nanggaling na kami sa Cebu, Sorsogon, Palawan, at Batangas. Ngunit ang hindi ko malilimutang lugar ay ang Baguio. Itinuturing itong Summer Capital ng Pilipinas na itinalaga noong 1903 at kilala ito sa pagkakaroon ng malamig na klima.  Dahil sa klimang ito, ang Baguio ay tahanan na ng magagandang halaman na hindi karaniwang nabubuhay sa ibang lugar na may mainit na temperatura. Dahil sa angkin nitong mayayaman na pananim at nakamamanghang tanawin, tiyak na lalo pang dadami ang mga turista at sasagana ang lugar na makatutulong sa pagpapayabong ng kabuhayan ng mga mamamayang nakatira rito.

Banggitin lamang ang salitang Baguio City, buo na sa aking isipan ang mga salitang pine trees, malamig na temperatura, sariwang mga gulay, at ang kanilang masaganang kultura. Sa sasakyan pa lamang, hindi ko na maiwasang isipin kung gaano kamalikhain ang ating Diyos. Magmula sa mga bulubundukin, hanggang sa mga tao, tunay ngang napakaganda ng Baguio. Kaya naman nakatatak pa rin sa aking isipan ang mga memoryang nabuo sa naturang lugar.

Namasyal kami ng aking pamilya sa Baguio noong ika-5 ng Nobyembre 2022, sa kadahilanang minsan lamang mabuo ang aming pamilya. Ang una naming pinasyalan ay ang Lion’s Head, na ang daan ay patungo mismo sa Baguio. Sa gilid nito ay may nagbebenta ng sikat na flavored taho, na kadalasang nakikita sa internet. At hindi buo ang pamamasyal kung walang litrato, kaya naman nanguha kami ng marami. Sumunod naming pinuntahan ay ang Mirador Hill Peace Memorial na nagtatampok ng tradisyonal na Japanese Gate na tinatawag na torii. Ang kampana ay gawa mula sa isang neutralized na bomba mula sa World War II kaya’t ito ay makasaysayan, subalit nangangailangan ito ng entrance fee na isang daan at limampung piso. Pagkatapos naman ay kumain kami sa Goodtaste Restaurant, na nauwi sa masayang tawanan at kwentuhan. Dito natapos ang unang araw namin sa Baguio sapagkat kinailangan naming hanapin ang aming budget-friendly na bahay-panuluyan na nagngangalang Hotel Cosmopolitan, ang magsisilbing tirahan namin sa loob ng tatlong araw at dalawang gabi.

Isang lugar sa Baguio na hinding hindi ko malilimutan ay ang Miracle Garden. Tunay nga itong milagro sapagkat tinulungan ako nitong mapawi ang aking kalungkutan at stress na nadarama noong mga panahong iyon. Sumunod naman ay ang Igorot Stone Kingdom. Ito ay ang pinakabagong atraksyong panturista sa Lungsod ng Pines. Nakatago mula sa central business district ang isang man-made park na gawa sa bato na ipinapamalas ang pamanang kultura ng mga Igorot at iba't ibang probinsya sa Cordilleras. Ang pangalawang araw namin sa Baguio ay hindi puno ng kaganapan sa kadahilanang masama ang panahon. Ngunit kinagabihan, inanyayahan kami na mamasyal at bumili ng mga pampasalubong sa night market na matatagpuan sa tabi ng Burnham Park.

Sinimulan namin ang ikatlong araw ng paglalakbay sa pagbabangka sa Burnham Park na kinagiliwan ng aking mga pamangkin at kapatid. Pagkatapos nito ay nag-almusal kami sa isang lokal na restawran na mayroong magandang tanawin. Ang huli naming destinasyon ay sa Strawberry Farm na sa kasamaang palad ay hindi pa panahon ng ani. Gayunpaman, namili kami ng mga pasalubong at mga makakain gaya ng strawberry, mga palaman, delicacies, at marami pang iba.

Ang natutunan ko sa paglalakbay na ito ay sulitin ang bawat minuto na kasama ang mga mahal natin sa buhay. Nararapat lamang na bumuo ng mga memorya kasama sila. Higit pa roon, huwag kalilimutang magpasalamat sa Diyos. Dahil ang kaniyang mga nilikha, gaya na lamang ng Baguio, ay magsisilbing patunay sa ganda at kasaganahan ng ating bansa.
