One touch

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Enhanced!Reader
Summary: You’ve lived your whole life carrying pieces of others—memories, emotions, pain. A single touch is all it takes. You never meant to fall for Bucky Barnes. Not when one touch showed you the full weight of his past—every wound, every scream, every drop of blood spilled. But the problem with avoiding someone is that it only makes you want them more. And Bucky is just as drawn to you as you are to him.
Word count: 2k
Warnings: Bucky's memories, kinda slow burn.
Note: Might be inspired by that one POV I saw ages ago. Finally, wrote smth on it.

You’re careful, always. Gloves in the winter, long sleeves in the summer, avoiding unnecessary contact. But you weren’t expecting to meet him that day. You weren’t expecting his steel-blue eyes, the hesitant way he reached for you, the calloused warmth of his palm.
James Buchanan Barnes. You thought maybe it would be something vague, like the usual flickering memories you caught from strangers—forgotten birthdays, the feeling of laughter in their ribs, the taste of their last sip of coffee.
But the moment your hand slipped into his, you knew you had made a mistake.
Pain.
It surged through you in an instant, stealing the air from your lungs, making your knees nearly buckle under the weight of it. The sharp bite of a knife slicing through flesh. The suffocating grip of restraints against metal wrists. The echo of voices shouting commands in Russian, the chilling sensation of being stripped down to nothing but a weapon. The screams. The red star. Blood, so much blood—on his hands, on his soul, dripping onto snow-covered ground. The sensation of metal replacing flesh. Terror. Rage. Regret. The unbearable weight of loss.
You ripped your hand away, eyes wide, heart hammering. Bucky was staring at you, brow furrowed in confusion.
"You okay?" His voice was rough, but his concern was genuine.
You force a smile. A lie. “Yeah. Just—just got a little dizzy.”
It’s the first of many lies.
You avoided touching him after that. It was difficult. Bucky's a tactile person, more than he realized. A hand on your back when guiding you through a crowded space. Sitting beside him on mission briefings, careful not to let your knees brush. You handed him files with your sleeves pulled over your fingers. You trained in the same room but always kept your distance. It was exhausting, this careful, deliberate avoidance, but you had no choice.
He was kind, in a quiet, unassuming way. He made you coffee in the mornings when you were both in the compound kitchen too early for anyone else to be awake. He told you about the books he had been reading when sleep didn't come. He listened when you talked, really listened, like what you were saying was the most important thing in the world.
He made you want things you shouldn’t.
But you knew what was inside him. You felt it. You felt him break, over and over again, and you didn't know how to hold that without breaking too.
Bucky wasn't just the things Hydra made him do. He wasn't just the broken memories and the pain. The way he always waited for you to enter a room first. The way he softened when he talked to Sam’s nephews. The way he looked at you sometimes, like he wanted to say something but didn't know how.
He remembered things about you, little things you barely noticed about yourself. And it terrified you because you were falling for him.
And worse? He was falling for you, too.
“You don’t like touching me.”
You froze, coffee cup halfway to your lips. You were both sitting in the compound’s common area, the glow of the city outside casting long shadows across the floor.
“I don’t like touching anyone,” you corrected.
Bucky didn’t look convinced.
"Steve told me you have some kind of.. gift or whatever he called it." He huffed.
"A gift," you shook your head. It was all but a gift. "i can see.. and feel... memories of a person, whenever I touch them."
“What did you see, when you shook my hand that first time?” Bucky questioned, not knowing if he really wanted to hear the answer.
You hesitated. He deserved an explanation, an answer, but how could you explain something like this? How could you tell him that touching him had nearly broken you? That you’d spent weeks trying to separate your own thoughts from the pain you’d absorbed? That even now, sometimes, you woke up gasping, ice spreading through your veins, memories that weren’t yours pressing against your skull? He didn't deserve that. After all he'd been through.
"You were quite a skirt-chaser back in the day." You shrugged, hoping he'd let go of the topic.
Bucky let out a short laugh, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “That’s what you saw?”
You forced a smile, lifting your cup to your lips. “That’s what I’m telling you I saw.”
You weren’t sure if he was buying it, but either way, he didn’t push. Instead, he leaned back against the couch, stretching his metal arm along the back of it, close but not touching.
“You know,” he said after a beat, “I might’ve been a flirt, but I was always a gentleman.”
You raised a brow. “That so?”
“Absolutely.” He smirked. “Always asked for a dance first.”
You huffed, shaking your head. “How chivalrous.”
Bucky chuckled, but you could feel the shift in the air. He hadn’t forgotten your deflection. The momentary ease between you wasn’t enough to erase the unspoken weight of his question.
What did you see?
What did you feel?
You didn’t have the heart to tell him the truth.
The ice-cold metal of an operating table. The burn of a shock collar. The sting of a fresh wound being ignored, a voice barking orders in Russian. The absolute, gut-wrenching terror of realizing—over and over—that you weren’t in control of your own body.
And beneath it all, buried so deep it nearly went unnoticed—loneliness. A yearning for something, someone, anyone to remind him he wasn’t just a weapon.
You couldn’t tell him that.
So instead, you clung to the lighter pieces, the moments before the pain, before the war. The golden haze of 1940s Brooklyn, the warmth of laughter, the way the air used to hum with the promise of something better.
“Steve always said I was a pain in the ass back then,” Bucky mused, snapping you back to the present.
You glanced at him, offering a small smile. “Some things never change.”
That made him laugh, real and genuine this time, and for a moment, the weight in your chest lightened.
The next few days were a blur of subtle moments, quiet exchanges, and the uncomfortable tension that lingered between you and Bucky. You tried to keep your distance, pretending that everything was fine, but the truth was far harder to swallow.
Every time Bucky walked into the room, the pull was undeniable. You’d find your gaze drawn to him, and when he caught your eye, you’d quickly look away, as if your body was betraying you, desperate for something you couldn’t have.
And then there were the little things—the way his presence seemed to fill the space around him, the way his voice softened when he spoke to you, like he was trying to break through some invisible barrier that you’d put up.
You didn’t want to feel that pull. You couldn’t afford to. Because no matter how much your heart ached to close the distance between you and him, you knew the consequences.
That afternoon, when you were leaving the training room, you almost collided with Bucky in the hallway. He stepped back just in time, his eyes flashing with surprise as you tried to regain your balance.
“Easy there,” he said, his voice low but steady, his hand brushing your arm to steady you.
You froze. The moment his fingers made contact with your skin, everything came rushing back. The sharp pain of a bullet slicing through muscle, the flash of a bomb exploding too close, the heartache of losing everything that had ever mattered. The memories of the wars he’d fought, of the things he’d been forced to do, filled your mind so quickly you barely had time to breathe.
You pulled away instinctively, your body trembling, your chest tightening as you fought to keep it together.
“I—I’m sorry,” you gasped, avoiding his eyes, your heart hammering in your chest. You didn’t want to look at him. You couldn’t. Because if you did, you might just break, and you couldn’t do that. Not with him. Not when you already knew the kind of pain he carried inside him.
Bucky took a step forward, his expression softening as he reached out, his hand hovering just shy of yours. “You’re not okay,” he said quietly, his voice full of concern. “What’s going on?”
You shook your head, willing the storm inside you to settle. “I’m fine,” you lied, forcing a smile. “Just… tired. Long day.”
Before either of you could say anything more Steve appeared at the end of the hallway, calling out to Bucky.
“You coming, Barnes?”
Bucky hesitated, his gaze lingering on you for just a moment longer, as if he was torn between walking away and staying.
Finally, he exhaled, running a hand through his hair. “I’ll catch up with you later,” he said to Steve, before turning back to you. “We’ll talk soon, yeah?”
You noded and you couldn’t breathe until he was gone.
The next day, Bucky found you in the courtyard, sitting by yourself, your eyes distant as you stared at the horizon. He walked up slowly, as though unsure of how to approach you.
“Mind if I join you?” he asked quietly.
You didn’t look up. “It’s a free country.”
Bucky settled next to you anyway, the quiet between you comfortable for a moment, but not for long. He was too aware of everything. Too aware of you.
“Did I do something wrong?” he asked, his voice low.
You shifted uncomfortably. “No, it’s not that.”
“Then what?” His tone softened, and you finally turned to meet his eyes.
“I told you, I don’t like touch. And it’s not something I can just turn off. And it's hard to be around you... when all I want to do is touch you, for you to touch me, kiss me..”
You got up on your feet but before you could turn, you felt the weight of his hand on your arm, gentle, but firm. Your breath caught, heart pounding in your chest. His touch was warm, steady, nothing like the icy remnants of war that had scarred him, but you still felt the sharpness of his past pressing against you like a shadow.
You looked down at his hand, at the way his fingers barely brushed your sleeve. It was a simple gesture, but to you, it was more than that. It was the invitation. The risk. The question you both had been dancing around.
You swallowed hard, fighting the sudden wave of emotion threatening to overwhelm you. But when you met his eyes, the vulnerability there, the honest want for connection, it nearly broke you.
You wanted to pull away. You wanted to stop, to keep him at arm’s length, but something inside you shifted, and you found yourself taking a step closer, just enough for your fingers to brush against his.
The world tilted.
The memories flooded you—faster, sharper this time. The face of a man who wasn’t quite Bucky anymore, wasn’t quite the soldier he’d been. The ache of betrayal, the desperate longing for redemption. The faces of people he’d loved and lost, the quiet rage of a man who had been turned into a weapon and was still trying to find his humanity.
Your chest tightened as the memories crashed over you, and you gasped, pulling your hand away, stumbling back like you’d been burned.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, your voice ragged. “I—I can’t…”
Bucky’s face twisted, a flash of pain crossing his features “I’m sorry if I—”
“No,” you interrupted, shaking your head. “It’s not you. It’s me. I just… I can’t keep doing this.”

Hi! Can I please request a Bucky x fem!reader where she is a mutant (from present day) with the ability to time travel, but she does not know how to control/use her powers, so she accidentally sends herself all the way back to the 40s and she doesn’t know how to send herself back. She meets Bucky and Steve and they quickly become her best friends and also take her in because she has no where to live (due to her time traveling there, but they don’t know that) and her and Bucky fall in love and get married. After losing both her husband, Bucky, and her best friend, Steve (she, like the rest of the world, has no clue either of them survived) her grief starts up her powers again and she finds herself back to present day, right smack dab in the middle of the Avengers HQ while they’re having a meeting about Bucky (this is after he has been captured, when Zemo is about to talk to him). The Avengers are 100% ready to fight this perceived threat that just came out of nowhere, but Steve, after taking a second to process (he is BAFFLED), realizes that this is one of his best friends, his other best friend’s wife, from the 40s, and Y/n just starts crying and throws herself into his arms because her best friend is alive 🥺 He’d be so shook to hear that she was never actually from the 40s, but from present day. Anyway, when Zemo triggers the Winter Soldier to come out, when Steve and Sam bring him to that warehouse and have his arm trapped so he can’t move, Y/n comes along with them and sees her husband (who she thought was dead) for the first time since the 40s (for her it hasn’t been that long though because she time traveled back to present day right after losing him and Steve, so the grief is fresh) and Bucky immediately starts crying because his wife is there 🥺 (Steve 100% knows right then and there that he’s speaking to Bucky, not Winter Soldier)

You’re still trying to get used to having the ability to time travel. You don’t know how to control them yet and you ended up time traveling to a time period you’ve never been to. You looked around frantically. You were in an alleyway, but you don’t know where. You ran out of the alleyway to find something to tell you where you are and what time period you’re in. You looked around, seeing old cars and not as many businesses as the time period you’re supposed to be in.
“Ma’am?” You heard a voice from behind you.
You yelped and turned around, seeing two guys. One is a tall brunette and the other one is a blonde who’s about the same height as you. Both of them have blue eyes.
“Are you lost?” The brunette asks.
“Very. I’ve never been here before.” You say. “Can you guys tell me where I am?” You asked politely, trying to stay calm.
“Brooklyn, New York.” The blonde tells you.
“What year is it?” You asked curiously.
“You don’t know what year it is?” The brunette asks.
You shook your head no.
“It’s February 1941.” The brunette tells you.
Your eyes widened and your heart started to thud in your chest. You looked around, trying to gather your surroundings. That’s when you realized you were getting judgmental stares from anyone who walked past you.
“Why- Why’s everyone staring at me?” You asked.
“I think it’s because of what you’re wearing.” The blonde says.
You frowned and looked down at your outfit. You’re wearing a sweatshirt, black leggings, and your favorite sneakers. What’s wrong with that? Your mind was all over the place that you completely forgot that women in the 1940s don’t wear clothes like what you’re currently wearing.
“How about you come home with us so you’ll be warm and I’ll get you something to where?” The brunette suggests.
You stared at the two men for a few seconds before nodding your head. You walked with them, both of them on either side of you.
“What are your names?” You asked.
“I’m James, but everyone I know calls me Bucky.” Bucky introduces himself.
“And I’m Steve.” Steve introduces himself. “What’s your name?” He asks.
“Y/N.” You tell them.
When you got to their apartment, you looked around and sat down on the couch, nervously played with your fingers.
“Bucky will be back in a little bit. He went to his parents house to see what his sister has for you to wear.” Steve says, handing you a glass of water.
You smiled and accepted the glass of water.
“You don’t talk much, do you?” He says.
You nodded.
“It’s ok. I understand. I used to be like that before Bucky and I became friends.” He says.
You smiled at how understanding Steve is. You and Steve maintained a great conversation till Bucky got home.
“My sister gave me a few options for you to choose from.” Bucky handed you a few hangers of outfits. “You can change in my bedroom. It’s at the end of the hall.” He says.
You smiled and went to Bucky’s bedroom. You laid the outfits on his bed and looked at them, trying to decide which one you should wear. You settled with a floral skirt with a matching short sleeved blouse. You put it on and looked down at it, smoothing it out with your hands. You went back to the living room.
“What do you guys think?” You asked.
“You look beautiful, Y/N.” Steve compliments with a smile.
Bucky’s jaw dropped. He was stunned by your beauty. He’s never seen a woman as beautiful as you.
“What do you think, Bucky?” You asked.
Bucky is still stunned. Steve poked his cheek to get his attention. He swatted his hand away, making you giggle.
“You’re drop dead gorgeous, doll.” Bucky finally compliments.
“Thank you.” You blushed.
A smile formed on Bucky’s face the more he looked at you. He knew he that you, him, and Steve are going to be great friends. Actually, Bucky wants more with you. He can see a future with you.
Shortly after that day, Bucky and Steve let you move in with them. You still haven’t told them that you have the ability to time travel and you’re not actually from that time period. You have a feeling that they won’t believe you. You might as well be honest with them and tell them.
“Bucky? Steve? I need to tell you guys something.” You say nervously.
“What is it, doll?” Bucky asks.
“I haven’t told you guys everything about me.” You say.
“What do you mean?” Steve asks.
“Promise you guys will believe me?” You asked.
They nodded.
“I’m not actually supposed to be in this time period.” You tell them.
“Of course you do, doll.” Bucky put a comforting hand on your knee. “You belong here.” He says softly.
“That’s sweet of you to say, Bucky, but I’m serious. I’m not actually supposed to be in the 1940’s.” You say.
“If you think you’re not supposed to be in our time period, what time period do you think you’re supposed to be in?” Steve asks.
“In between the 2010s and 2020s.” You say.
Bucky’s and Steve’s eyes went wide when they heard those years.
“You’re supposed to be almost 100 years in the future?” Steve asks.
You nodded.
“The only way you’d get from the future all the way back here is time travel.” Bucky says.
You stared at them, waiting for them to realize it, in which they did. Both of them had shocked looks on their faces.
“Did you use a Time Machine to get here?” Steve asks.
“Not exactly.” You answered. “The time period where I’m supposed to be in has superpowers and abilities. Those who have superpowers or abilities are enhanced or mutants.” You explained.
“Which one are you?” He asks.
“I’m a mutant.” You tell them.
“You don’t look like a mutant.” Bucky says.
“You look like a normal human like us.” Steve says.
“Thank you, guys.” You smiled.
“Which do you have? Superpowers or abilities?” Bucky asks.
“Abilities.” You answered.
“What are your abilities?” He asks.
“I have the ability to time travel, but I don’t know how to control them.” You explained. “So now, I guess I’m stuck here.” You say.
Bucky’s and Steve’s minds are completely blown right now. They always thought that superpowers and abilities were fictional in the books they’ve read. They would’ve never guessed that they’re real.
“Do you guys believe me?” You asked nervously.
“Of course we do, doll.” Bucky smiles.
You smiled and hugged them.
A few weeks go by and you’re still getting used to life in the 1940s. Bucky and Steve are making it easier for you to adjust to this time period. Also, you’ve started to develop a crush on Bucky. Bucky has the same crush on you as well.
“Hey, Bucky. What’re you reading?” You asked, walking in his bedroom and sat down on his bed next to him.
“Reading The Hobbit.” Bucky says.
You couldn’t help but giggle.
“What’re you laughing about, doll face?” He asks in a playful voice.
“You reading The Hobbit.” You giggled again. “That makes you a nerd.” You joked playfully.
“There’s no need for name calling, doll.” He says, still sounding playful.
“What’re you going to do about it, James?” You playfully taunted.
Bucky grabbed you, pulling you onto his lap and started tickling you. You giggled and squirmed on his lap.
“Bucky, st-stop!” You giggled.
“Nope! This is what you get for calling me a nerd.” He says.
“You- You didn’t let me fin-finish.” You laughed. “I-I think you’re a cute nerd.” You say.
Bucky stopped tickling you. You laid across his lap, trying to catch your breath.
“You’re cute too, babydoll.” Bucky says softly, gently cupping your cheek.
“Really? Even if I’m a mutant?” You asked.
“Yes.” He whispers.
Silence filled the bedroom. You and Bucky gazed in each other’s eyes. You sat upright and sat next to him. You leaned in at the same time as Bucky. You two kissed passionately. His lips felt so soft against yours. You and Bucky were breathless when he pulled away.
“Woah…” You say, completely speechless.
Bucky chuckles lightly. He then cups your cheek.
“Do you want to be my girlfriend?” Bucky asks softly.
“Yes.” You smiled.
Bucky smiles and pecks your lips a few times.
———
“I can’t believe we’re married.” You say, staring at the ring on your finger.
“You better believe it, doll. This is our life now.” Bucky smiles. “Mrs. Barnes.” He says softly.
“Mr. Barnes.” You say with a smile.
———
“Do you have to go?” You asked.
“You know I have to, doll.” Bucky whispers, gently caressing your cheek.
“I’m going to miss you.” You whispered, tears rolling down your cheeks.
Bucky kissed you softly and sweetly.
“I’ll be home before you know it, babydoll.” He whispers.
“I love you, James.” You whispered.
“I love you too, doll.” He whispers back.
———
“Stevie!” You smiled happily when you opened the door.
“Hi, Y/N.” Steve says.
You hugged him tightly. You looked outside, expecting Bucky to be with Steve, but he wasn’t which confused you.
“Where’s Bucky?” You asked, looking at Steve.
Steve looks down and sighs, dreading that he has to tell you what he’s about to tell you.
“Y/N…” He begins softly.
“No.” You said. “I know what you’re about to say. Bucky is not dead.” You say, your voice cracking.
“I’m so sorry, but he is.” He says.
“He said he’d come home to me!” You cried.
Steve wrapped his arms around you, holding you tightly.
“Tell me how he died.” You say.
“He- he fell off a train. I tried to get him, but he fell before I could get to him.” Steve tells you, his voice cracking. “I’m so sorry.” He whispers.
Steve couldn’t stay after that. He had to go back to the Army. You laid in bed, trying to process your husband’s death. You gazed at the picture of you and him on yours and his wedding day. Your bottom lip quivered and a loud cry left your lips. That’s when a bright light lit up the bedroom…
PRESENT DAY
The Avengers were having a meeting about the Sokovia Accords when you appeared in the room. You were on the floor, crying in the fetal position. The Avengers were alarmed when they seen you and they stood up from their seats.
“Ma’am?” Steve slowly approached you. “Are you ok? Are you injured?” He asks.
You quickly recognized that voice. You know that voice. Your crying stopped and your eyes shot open. You sat up, seeing your best friend.
“Steve?” You asked.
“Y/N?” Steve asks.
You stood up from the floor and ran over to him, hugging him tightly.
“You’re alive.” You whispered.
You and Steve stood there hugging while the Avengers stared at you two in confusion. They cleared their throats to get yours and his attention.
“Who is she, Steve?” Natasha asks.
“This is Y/N. She’s Bucky’s wife. She has the ability to time travel. She’s actually from this time period.” Steve tells them.
Tears rolled down your cheeks and your bottom lip quivered when you heard your husband’s name. Steve excused himself and took you to a different room to talk.
“I have something to tell you and it may come to you as a shock, but I’m telling the truth when I say this.” Steve begins.
You sniffled, waiting for him to continue.
“Bucky is alive.” He tells you.
Your eyes went wide.
“But- but told me he was dead.” You say.
“I thought he was, but I seen him.” He says.
“When?” You asked.
“Not too long ago.” He says.
“Take me to him.” You say.
“I will once I figure out where he is. I promise.” He says.
———
“Why did you bring me to an abandoned building in a different country?” You asked Steve.
“Bucky is in here. I brought him here.” Steve says.
You looked in the room Bucky is in, gasping when you seen Bucky. You went to run to him, but Steve grabbed your arm before you could get to your husband.
“Steve, he’s waking up.” Sam informs him.
Steve walks toward Bucky with you and Sam following behind him. You stayed hidden behind Steve. Bucky frowns when he noticed that his metal arm was wedged in some kind of machine.
“Which Bucky am I talking to?” Steve asks him.
“Your mom’s name is Sarah and you used to wear newspapers in your shoes.” Bucky says.
You smiled to yourself when you finally heard your husband’s voice for the first time in a while. You stepped out from behind Steve.
“James?” You asked.
“Doll?” Bucky whispers. “Is that really you?” He asks.
Bucky thought he was hallucinating for a second.
“Yes.” You confirmed softly.
Bucky somehow managed to get his metal arm out of the machine. He stood up and walked over to you. Steve stands in between you and him, just to be sure he was in Winter Soldier mode.
“Steve, please.” Bucky’s voice cracks and his eyes tear up. “Let me hug my wife.” He pleads softly.
Steve looked in Bucky’s eyes, seeing his best friend and not the Winter Soldier. He stepped aside, allowing Bucky to approach you. Bucky hugged you tightly. He broke down in tears and so did you.
“We’ll give you guys a moment.” Steve says.
Steve and Sam left the room, leaving you and Bucky alone. Bucky cupped your cheeks and kissed you passionately. Your hands clutched the fabric of his henley, melting into his touch.
“I missed you more than anything, babydoll.” Bucky whispers against your lips.
“I missed you more.” You whispered back.
Bucky wrapped his arms around you, holding you against him.
“I love you so much, James.” You whispered.
“I love you more, babydoll.” He murmurs softly. “I’m never leaving you again. I promise.” He whispers, kissing the top of your head.

My Little Love
Chapter 38
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x enhanced!Reader
Word Count: 6.4K
Warnings: I don't want to add to many warnings and give away the plot so read with caution, Henry and Charlotte being the sweet little duo they are, crying
A/N: the time has finally come to see what's going to happen next with our favorite family.... Idk how to feel about this chapter but it needed to happen so we can keep moving forward.
Series Masterlist:
Henry laid awake after you left. He worried about you. Even at his young age he could tell something was not quite right with the way you had been behaving. He also didn’t like the fact that his dad didn’t know you’d be going on a mission.
There was only one thing he could do and he only hoped you wouldn’t be mad at him. But Henry would rather have an angry mama than none at all. So he slipped out of his bed and Lottie’s grip on his shirt so that he could put shoes on.
“Bubba?” Lottie’s sleepy voice called from behind him. “Whe-uh you going?”
“I have to do something for mama.”
“You call daddy?”
Henry sighed and turned to look at Lottie, she was now sitting up in bed and rubbing the sleep from her eyes with the back of her hand.
“Yes. I think mama is going to need help.”
“I go with you?” Lottie asks, getting out of bed.
“You should stay here with grandpa.”
Lottie shakes her head. “I go with you.”
“Fine, go get your shoes and be as quiet as you can.”
“Kay.”
Henry meets Lottie in the hallway. He takes her hand and turns them both invisible before quietly going down the stairs. In the living room Eddie has the tv on even though it’s still dark out. His head is tilted backwards resting against the back of the couch while he snored peacefully. Henry places a finger of his lips to make sure Lottie knows she needs to be quiet. They leave out of the front door.
“Ok baby, I’ll give you a piggyback ride because we have to be fast.” Henry tells his sister before turning and lowering himself.
Lottie climbs on Henry’s back and locks her legs around her brother’s midsection. Her arms wrap over his shoulders.
“You ready?”
“Am weady.” Lottie says with a nod.
“Ok, hold on tight.” Henry says and he starts running towards the compound.
****
They knock furiously on the door to the communications room. It’s only after a few minutes that it swings open.
“Hi Ms. Maria.” Henry looks up at Maria Hill who’s in charge of running the operation from the comms room.
“Henry, what are you two doing here? Where’s Y/N? Is Lottie having another vision?”
“No but I need to talk to daddy. It’s important.” Henry’s eyes are pleading and Lottie is matching him.
“Ok, come in but you’ll have to wait, they’re still on the mission. I’ll let you talk to him as soon as I can.” Maria says, opening the door wider and ushering the kids in.
It takes a few minutes but eventually they hear Steve’s voice crackle through.
“Mission was a success. Everyone’s back on the jet and we’re on our way home.”
The small group in the room cheered. Maria heads to one of the stations and speaks to the person manning it before picking up the mic and headphones.
“Sergeant Barnes, please switch to channel 3.” She says.
“Everything ok Hill?”
“I’m not sure, Henry needs to speak to you and it couldn’t wait.” Maria says before handing the mic and headphones over.
“Daddy?”
“Hey bubs, what’s going on? Where’s mama?” Bucky tried not to let his panic be heard in his voice.
“Mama went on a mission. She told me not to tell you but baby had a vision about it and I’m worried. Baby said there was a mean lady.”
Bucky sucked in a sharp breath. It couldn’t be who he thought it was but he also had to trust your judgment.
“Daddy?”
“Hi doll. Can you tell me who you saw?”
“Daddy it was mama’s mama. I membuh fwom my biwthday.”
Bucky pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to take some calming breaths but that was only getting attention from the team.
“Do you know where she went?” He asked anyone who was listening.
“She took a jet Barnes. We are sending you the location now.” Hill jumped in.
“Thank you, Hill. Kids, is grandpa watching you?”
“Yeah.” Henry said quietly after taking the mic back.
“I’m assuming he doesn’t know where you are. Please go back home. I’m gonna go help mama and I’ll see you later. And don’t tell grandpa anything about this, it’s a secret for now.”
Both kids say their goodbye and the line drops. Hill tries her best to give them a reassuring smile. The kids leave and sneak back into the house and Henry’s room without their grandpa ever noticing they were gone.
“Well it took you long enough to come find me.” Your mother says. She has a pleased look on her face as she takes a seat. “Did you finally come to your senses? Or are you going to kill me?”
You stare at her for a moment, really taking her in. It’s alarming to realize that this is who she always was. She had never hid herself behind the role of a sweet and loving homemaker, at least not in front of you.
“I’m not going to kill you.” You say calmly.
“Still weak I see. No matter, we can work that right out of your system this time.”
“Yeah, how will you manage to do that?”
Your mother’s smile is sinister. It sends a shiver down your spine.
“Do you really think I didn’t know you were here before I walked in? You tripped an alarm. At any moment my backup will be here.” She laughs as if she’s won, as if she has the upper hand. “I have so many plans for you. Things I didn’t get to finish the first time round.”
You smile back. From one of the pockets of your utility belt you pull up four different dog tags, all of them covered in blood.
“You mean the idiots that live down the hill? I mean, lived down the hill. I paid them a visit first and I cut the alarm in the cabin just in case there was anyone else wandering around.”
Lorraine’s face morphed from smug to absolute rage. She was fuming and you were satisfied that you’d managed to catch her off guard.
“What were you planning to do with Luke and the twins? Were you going to kidnap them? What about Olivia?” You ask, you motioned to the files on the coffee table.
“I’ve had to come up with backup plans. Since you’ve been nothing but a disappointment.” She spat with all the fury she had. She stands and tries to loom over you but the tactic doesn’t scare you anymore. “You would’ve been dead if it wasn’t for me. I gave you the only thing that makes you special.”
“You’ve done nothing but abuse me. You are a sick and twisted person.”
“And you’re an ungrateful brat.”
Her right hand came up to strike you across the face but you blocked and batted it away before pushing her back. It was hard enough that she tripped and fell over the coffee table taking some of the files with her. Metal ropes slithered across the area rug from you to her. They wrapped around her arms, neck down her back and around her waist, lifting her back onto the couch. The now solid metal kept her in place.
“For as much as you loved to call me pathetic, look at you now. You’re nothing. Hydra is nothing.” You growled, standing up from your seat.
“Hydra will rise again. It always does and they’ll come for you and your stupid little family. We will have what is rightfully ours again.”
“No! Hydra ends with you. It ended a long time ago you and the rest of those maniacs were just grasping at straws. You are nothing, no one will ever remember you because you didn’t do anything great.”
“I am the greatest mind Hydra has.” Lorraine screamed, writhing as she tried to break free. With each movement the restraints got tighter.
“Then why did they send you to have babies for them? You were useless to them. You had no purpose your own father thought that.”
She stopped moving. Lorraine was panting as she stayed still, eyes closed.
“Your father didn’t think you were anything special. You were ordinary, just one of the bunch. He thought the world of Henry though, didn’t he? Same thing with Lottie. They were his pride and joy. He saw them as the true future of hydra. They were everything he wanted in a child. Before he died he even treated them very well. But you? You were the disappointment of the family. He had no use for you, at least not until you got pregnant. I read all about what he thought of you. How he was glad to finally get rid of you so he could focus on what he had created.” You say. Your voice is eerily calm, it sounds strange to your own ears. There’s a sense of satisfaction in watching the woman who tormented you for years breakdown. You lean down into her space and look her in the eye. “How does it feel that even your own husband and children would prefer them over you?”
She lets out a blood curdling screech. “I did what I had to do in order to prove my loyalty. You would be nothing if it weren’t for me and this is how you repay me? You wouldn’t have your precious family and your precious Bucky if it weren’t for me.” She grits out. “The things we did to him. The way he cried and screamed and begged. He was such a great little play thing. Almost as fun as you were. But it doesn’t matter, once I’m done with you I’ll get my hands on him and those snot nosed brats and then I’ll really make them suffer. I’ll make you watch so you learn what I’m capable of.”
That had you seeing red. It was bad enough to understand what they went through but to hear it from your own mother’s mouth made you sick. Instinctively the metal you were holding her back with tightened even more. She gasped for air before she began laughing. It was bone chilling and sinister.
“I-I knew you h-had...” She begins but cuts herself off by coughing. “Had it in you.” Blood pools in the corners of her mouth as she finally looks at you. Her eyes are bewildered, as if she finally had gotten what she wanted.
“What?”
“You we-re always me-meant to be the p-p-perfect killing machine.” She stutters before she laughs again. “We are the same, we-we are both killers now. The p-p-pride of Hydra.” She cries what you assume are happy tears. “O-our lega-legacy w-will live th-through you.”
As you realize what she meant you gasp. The metal that had been restraining her falls to the ground in small round pellets. She lay motionless on the couch. Some blood drips from her nose and mouth.
You fell to the ground. Your eyes stuck to your mother’s motionless body. How could you have done that? Sure you had killed before but it had been in self defense. This time you let her get under your skin like she always had. You thought you had the upper hand but she played you. How would you tell your family?
****
You spent a few hours in a daze. Unsure of what to do. You didn’t even realize there was movement in front of you until two hands wrapped around your neck.
“Weak and pathetic. You couldn’t even finish the job. I didn’t suffer through childbirth and family holidays and school and those stupid recitals and sport games just for you to quit on me now.” Lorraine, your mother was choking you. Part of you didn’t know if you should fight back. It was so surreal. “Do it. Turn into what I made you.”
You scrambled to your feet in an effort to have the upper hand. Her grip was tight, nails digging into your flesh. You slipped your fingers in between her hands and your neck. The look on her face was terrifying. She sneered, her eyes almost black from rage. You weren’t sure where she got the strength to hold you down.
“Stop.” You hissed.
“Make me.” Lorraine leans in, her face inches away from yours. “We could rule the world. There is so much you’re capable of and I can teach you. You are meant to be the new fist of hydra. You’ll bring us into a new age but only if you give in.”
“It doesn’t have to be like this. You don’t have to do this. I can get you help, you can see our family again. Do you really not care about them? Hydra doesn't care about you but we do.”
Lorraine scoffs. “No one has ever cared about me. You don’t have to be a lost cause. You just can’t see what I do. The world could lay at our feet, we could rule everything. We could be the most powerful people in the world. Why must you settle if you were made for such a great purpose? You could influence the ways of the world, hydra could continue to live through you.” She states. It’s all she cares about, the power and influence. She was a lost cause long before you were ever even born.
You stare her down for a moment and shake your head. “Hydra dies tonight. If it has to die with me, then so be it.”
Lorraine lets out a mixture of a groan and a screech of frustration. One of her hands lets go and she reaches behind her. You put your focus on the metal that is lying around and pull it towards you in order to use it to defend yourself. Lorraine holds a blade and brings it down toward your chest.
Pop.
Pop.
Pop.
Three quick gunshots. Two to the heart and one to the head. Lorraine’s eyes widen for a second and then she drops at your feet. From the darkness of the hallway Bucky steps out, gun still in hand.
“Are you ok?” He asks hesitantly.
You nod. “It’s over.” You murmur in disbelief.
Bucky rushes over when he sees the tears in your eyes. He doesn’t hesitate to bring you in for a comforting hug as you start to sob.
“It’s ok, Sugar. I got you.” He murmurs.
It took you some time to compose yourself. But in your defense you had gone from thinking you killed your own mother to her trying to kill you to your fiancé killing her instead. You didn’t even want to hurt her, that hadn’t been your intention at all.
“Let’s get out of here.” Bucky didn’t give you a chance to protest. He manhandled you and took you outside.
Taking gulps of fresh air, you began to cry again when you saw Steve standing a few feet away. Bucky pushed you in his direction before going back to the cabin.
“Are you hurt?” Steve’s words are dripping with concern as he makes his way to you. “Whatever you need, I’m here for you.”
You didn’t answer. No one you knew had ever been in this position so they wouldn’t understand. You watched as Bucky walked out with your mother’s body wrapped in a blanket. He was gentle with her as he set her down and headed back inside. It made you want to throw up and you did. Steve held you up, offered you a bottle of water from a bag he had been carrying. It didn’t stop the sick feeling in your gut. Bucky walks back out with all of the files in hand.
“Let’s go.” Bucky says, handing Steve the files and trusting he’d help you back to the jet while taking the responsibility of carrying your mother.
You sat quietly in the jet. Every few minutes you’d look to the side and see your dead mother laying there. The more you looked at her the angrier you got. Everything she’d put you through was just for power.
“Hey,” Bucky called softly as he sat next to you, blocking your view. “How are you feeling?”
“I don’t know. Sad? Angry? Relieved?”
Bucky’s hand cups your cheek, his thumb moving back and forth. You can see the sadness reflected in his eyes.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t want to do that but when I saw that knife I had to act fast.”
“It’s not your fault, you were only protecting me and I’ll always love you for that.” You say quietly before turning your head and kissing the palm of his hand. “How did you know I was here anyways?”
“Henry went to Hill and asked to talk to me, he told me everything. He was worried about you. Lottie had a vision of your mom. Hill tracked the jet.” Bucky responds. “We had the team redirect here. Steve over there just had to join me to try and steal my thunder.”
“Hey, she was my friend before she was the love of your life.”
You give him a small smile. Steve gets up from the pilot’s seat and sits across from you. He pats your knee reassuringly.
“Bucky told me about your mom. I’m sorry you went through all of that. Especially when it was someone that was supposed to protect you.”
You give him a small nod. There wasn’t much you could say. Your thoughts were on how and exactly what you were going to tell your family. The relationship you had with them could change forever in the next few hours.
“Everything will be ok. I’m staying right by your side.” Bucky murmured as he pulled you in.
Steve and Bucky looked at each other for a moment, a silent understanding that they’d need to be there for you. While Bucky held you Steve went back to the pilot’s chair. It would be a few more hours until you got home and then you’d have to face your family.
You turned the corner into the long hallway that led to many conference rooms with determination. Towards the end of the flight you’d decided that what’s done is done. Lorraine had made her choices and you’d made yours. The only thing you could do was tell your family the truth and give them the evidence you had and let them decide what they wanted to do. You couldn’t control their reactions but you could control yours.
Halfway down the hallway Henry and Lottie sat outside one of the rooms. Their feet kicked back and forth as they waited. Lottie was mumbling something and patting Henry on the arm in a comforting manner. It made you genuinely smile to see them like this.
Lottie saw you first and jumped off her seat in order to get to you. Her arms open wide, her pink teddy bear in one hand. Lottie launched herself into your waiting arms. You pulled her close and even gave her a little squeeze. She rewarded you by peppering kisses over your cheek.
“You is kay mama?” Lottie asked once she pulled back. Her finger traced your cheek, up and over your brow and down your nose before ending the delicate touch with a small ‘boop’.
“I am more than ok now my sweet Angel.”
She smiles when you lean down and kiss her forehead. Your attention then turns to Henry who is standing not too far from you. The telltale signs of his nervousness present as he fluctuates in his invisibility. You reach out for him and he slowly makes his way to you. As you hold him, his form stays visible and he relaxes into your hug.
“Mama, I’m sorry I know you di-“
“Never apologize for doing the right thing.” You cut him off while pulling away to look at him. “You followed your instincts and it was the right call, ok?”
Henry nods before giving you one more hug.
“Can you stay out here with your sister while I talk to our family?”
“Yeah.”
“Thank you, sweet boy.”
You stand and take a deep breath. It was now or never. You had asked Bucky to make sure your family was at the compound by the time you got there. Steve was still with you when you walked in the room but he stayed in a corner, he was there more for moral support than anything else.
With Bucky’s help you managed to get the blood off of you but you didn’t look great. Eddie was the first one out of his chair to hug you. Luke, Sofia and Josh followed soon after before settling back down in their chairs. You sit across the four of them and you feel sick to your stomach knowing what you have to do.
“So before I start you have to know that what I’m going to say is very serious. I’m not joking about this situation. It’s going to be difficult to understand and even accept but I have proof to back up what I’m going to tell you.” You take a deep breath. “I also need you all to listen to everything I have to say.”
“Kitten, what is going on?”
“I need to tell you about what happened to me when hydra captured me last year. Specifically I need to tell you about who was responsible for everything.” You say as you grab the laptop in the middle of the table and connect the usb with all the evidence.
You look over at Steve and then Bucky. Both of them giving you a nod to reassure you that they had your back. With one more calming breath you turn back to your family and begin to explain everything.
****
“So our mom and her family were involved with hydra?” Sofia asked after everything was said. By the tone in her voice you knew she had trouble believing you.
“Yes. They were involved for generations. They were responsible for Henry, Lottie and the other kids. They were trying to create a new generation of soldiers.”
“And she had us with the intention of using us to create more soldiers?” It was Joshua’s turn to question you.
You can only nod in response. Meanwhile Luke sits silently as he looks through the files you had given him. One for him, Molly, Olivia and their unborn baby. In the margins were the plans Lorraine had for them.
Next to Luke sat your father. It looked like he was going to be sick. It was one thing to learn that your wife had treated one of your kids differently but it was another to realize you didn’t know the monster you had married. As he read his own file and even glanced over at Luke’s, Eddie wished he didn’t know any of this.
“Dad?” You called him softly, worried that he might actually be sick. Maybe his heart couldn’t handle this.
“Y/N,” he said quietly. It hurt to hear him call you by your name and not the affectionate nickname he had given you. “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”
“I was scared. I didn’t have enough evidence and I needed for you to believe me. Especially after I was taken. She was power hungry and she was willing to do anything to gain control of hydra.”
“But you could have said something to me.”
“Would you have believed me?” You ask. “Would any of you have believed what I said after I was rescued? I had been mentally and physically tortured. My autonomy had been taken from me. Anything I said at that time would have been questionable.”
Your family didn’t say anything. The tension was slowly rising in the room and then the one question you didn’t want to answer was asked.
“Where is she now?” Sofia asks.
You take a deep breath and close your eyes. The pain you felt from her death would surely be different than theirs but part of you still felt the loss in some weird way.
“She’s gone.”
“What do you mean? Did she escape or something?” Joshua speaks up.
Joshua and Sofia had been treated the best by her. Maybe she had found a little bit of maternal love for them in the cold and twisted heart she had.
“No, I mean she’s gone, she died.” You deliver the news as gently as possible.
The truth hangs in the air and for the first time since reuniting it feels like your family is broken again. Your eyes stay glued to the table as you wait for their reactions. The only comfort you have is Bucky’s hand in yours.
“You killed her.” It wasn’t a question or an accusation. Eddie just came to the realization much more quickly than your siblings had.
“How could you kill her? She was still your mother.”
“I-It’s complicated. I only wanted to bring her in. I gave her a choice.“
“But you killed her.” Sofia accuses.
“I killed her.” Bucky speaks up and everyone’s attention turns to him. “It was a life or death situation and I had to choose between Lorraine and Y/N. I did what I had to do to protect Y/N.”
“You couldn’t have knocked her unconscious or something?”
“She was choking Y/N. If I didn’t act fast this would be a completely different conversation.” Bucky defends himself. “Y/N’s safety was my priority. I’m sorry I really am but I did what I had to do.”
Sofia gets up first, followed by Joshua and Luke. They take the files you gave them and leave, not saying another word to you. It crushed you to see how Lorraine had broken your family. Finally Eddie gets up and starts to walk out.
“Dad?”
“Let me handle this, I’ll talk to you soon.” Your father says and follows your siblings.
Bucky pulls you into his chest. He comforts you while you cry. He whispers sweet reassurances as he guides you out of the conference room. The kids follow as Bucky takes you home.
Bucky had ushered the kids into the playroom before pulling you along to your shared room. He didn’t say much as he helped you undress and sent you in to take a shower. Once you walked out Bucky got you into bed. He’d offered to stay with you but you wanted to be alone so he gave you space.
It had been a difficult few days. Bucky could see the worry and anxiety grow with every moment that you didn’t hear from your father. You paced, you zoned out and you slept, nothing else. Not only was Bucky worried but so were the kids and the team. He’d even taken over making the final decisions on some things for the wedding. Not that he minded but he missed the excitement in your eyes as you talked about how great the day was going to be. All Bucky could do was be there for you, hold you while you cried and reassure you that you did nothing wrong. He shouldered the burden of having killed your mother so that you wouldn’t feel guilty about it for the rest of your life. But if you asked him, he’d do it again as long as it meant that you were safe by his side.
The kids also saw how down you were. They missed their mama. It was actually Henry’s idea to do something to cheer you up. So while you’d been sitting outside at Bucky’s insistence, he and the kids prepared a surprise for you. When you walked into your room you were surprised to find Henry and Lottie running out of your bathroom giggling.
“What are you up to?” You asked with a small smile for the first time in days.
“You’re just in time mama. Come look.”
Henry takes your hand and pulls you into your bathroom. You find Bucky putting some finishing touches to a bubble bath.
“What is going on?” You ask while looking around at the lit candles and bathtub.
“We wanted to do something special for you. Henry says before holding his hand up for you to see what he’s holding. “You can even use my boat so you don’t get bored.”
“An my duckies mama.”
You turn around to see Lottie holding up her little basket of rubber duckies. Most of them are dressed as the Avengers, your own duckie included. You wanted to cry again. For as much as you worried that your siblings hated you again, your family was right there showing you all the love you could ever need.
“The-uh you go mama.” Lottie says after dumping the duckies into the bath.
Bucky ushered the kids out before telling you to relax and giving you a quick kiss.
****
Downstairs Bucky, Henry and Lottie rushed around trying to get another surprise ready for you. This had been Lottie’s idea. She had seen what happened and had been distraught but having you home eased her worries. Now all she wanted was to see her mama happy.
“Hold this here.” Bucky held up a string of lights for Henry.
“Like this?”
“Just like that bubs. Doll, grab that pillow and put it over there.” Lottie rushed around doing as she was told.
The three of them freeze when they hear the door to your room open and close.
“It’s not weady.” Lottie looked at Bucky, panicked.
“I need like a minute. Go distract mama.” Bucky tells Lottie and she rushes out of the living room.
She finds you at the bottom of the stairs.
“Mama wook ovuh the-uh.” She points to a random spot behind you.
You turn to look at the wall and try not to laugh. Then you turn back to look at her with furrowed brows.
“What am I supposed to be looking at?”
“Uh,” Lottie looks distraught as she tries to think of something. “It’s just so pwetty?”
“The wall is pretty?” You say teasingly while looking back at the blank wall.
You hear whispering but you can’t see where it’s coming from so you assume Henry is just invisible. Lottie looks up at you and smiles.
“Kay mama come on.” She takes your hand and pulls you in the direction of the living room.
You stop in your tracks when you see the lights and pillow fort. Bucky and Henry stand in the middle of the room smiling at you. The tv was on and an episode of the Golden Girls was ready to go.
“Is this for me?”
“Yeah.” Lottie nods as she looks up at you. “It’s a suwpwise. I don’t wike it when mama is sad.”
That alone made you want to cry again. Instead you scoop Lottie up and hug her while walking towards Bucky and Henry. They join in on the hug and then you all find a comfortable place to sit.
Lottie stays on your lap, Bucky sits next to you on the floor while Henry lounges on the couch behind you. He has his arm hanging over your shoulder. Even Alpine joins in for cuddles. The show plays but you can’t focus on it. All you can do is think about your sweet family and the fact that they’d do anything to make you happy the same way you'd do it for them. So you sit back and enjoy the moment pushing all the bad memories from the last few days out of your mind.
The sun was starting to set as you were all still sitting together in the living room. You’d changed the show for a movie while the kids did some coloring. Your head was resting against Bucky’s shoulder as you yawned. Bucky was just about to suggest calling it a night when the doorbell rang.
“Who the hell could it be at this hour?” Bucky mutters as he stands and makes his way to the door.
There’s a hushed conversation before Bucky walks back. Behind him is Eddie. You tense and immediately you turn your gaze away from him. The kids, who usually ran towards their grandfather, stayed put. Everyone could feel the heaviness in the air.
“Can we talk?” Is all your father asks so you get up and lead him outside to the back porch.
Both of you sit in silence side by side, not knowing what to say. His expression was unreadable. It was one of the few times he ever concealed his feelings from you.
“How are they?”
“How are you?”
You asked at the same time. Eddie looked over at you, taking in your profile. He could see the tension in your shoulders and the way you clenched your jaw. He could see how exhausted you were.
“Kitten.” Eddie said softly and you finally looked at him. You had never seen him look this tired or defeated.
“How are they?”
“Upset, confused, angry.”
You nod and look away. “I’m sorry for not saying anything but you have to understand why I did what I did.”
Eddie pats your shoulder before pulling you in for a hug. This time you don’t cry though. You’re done crying over this.
“Kitten, I’m not blaming you.”
“They are. And I get it, I do. I’d also understand if you did too. She was your wife and you were together for so long.”
“That woman was not my wife.” Eddie says. His tone is sad but resigned. “I was married to a stranger my whole life. She was a great actress though, I’ll tell you that much.”
You didn’t reply. What could you possibly say to him to ease the pain he was surely feeling?
“Lorraine brought this on herself. As long as you tried to bring her in, alive, you have nothing to feel guilty about. She wasn’t a good person, kitten. I can see that now. You did what you had to do as an Avenger trying to protect innocent people and then as a mother trying to protect your family. You gave her a choice and she chose wrong. That doesn’t fall on you.”
“Thanks dad.” You say between quiet sniffles. He hugs you tighter. “As long as you don’t hate me.”
“I could never hate you, you’re my girl.”
You close your eyes and smile. He’s told you that all your life. The two of you sit in comfortable silence, holding each other and watching the sunset.
“The funeral is tomorrow.” He said quietly, long after the last rays of sun had disappeared.
“Oh.”
“You should come, be there for your siblings. I think it could be good for the four of you.”
“It wouldn’t.” You pull away from him. “She was their mother, not mine. I think I would just make it worse by showing up.”
Eddie nods. “I understand, Kitten. I thought I would offer just in case. But don’t worry, your siblings will come around soon. They love you all.” He pats your thigh before getting up.
You have one question. But you aren’t sure if you should ask. If it’s even appropriate. But seeing as your father knew you well, he stops before opening the door and turns to you again.
“I hope this doesn’t change anything for the wedding. I’d still love to walk you down the aisle.”
You look up at him, tears in your eyes and a smile on your lips. You give him a small nod. Eddie gets closer again and places a kiss on your forehead and leaves.
Inside, Bucky meets Eddie at the bottom of the stairs after putting the kids to bed. Eddie stretches his hand to Bucky who seems surprised at the gesture.
“Thank you for bringing her back.”
“Of course. I know it must be hard on Luke, Joshua and Sofia to just accept the death of their mother and not be able to bury her.”
Eddie looks at Bucky confused before shaking his head. “No, I meant Y/N. I knew you’d keep her safe.”
“With my life Ed. Listen about Lorraine- I really didn’t-“
Eddie raises a hand to stop Bucky. “You don’t have to explain yourself, you were protecting our girl, that’s all that matters. From what I’ve read in those files, she had it coming. If you hadn’t done it Lorraine would have kept coming after her. You not only kept Y/N safe but the rest of my family.” Eddie places a hand on Bucky’s shoulder and looks him in the eye. “You protected our family. Never apologize or feel guilty about it.”
Bucky only nods understanding that Eddie was including him as part of his family.
“To be honest, and I mean this in the best way possible, I’m glad it was you that did it and not her. She would have carried that guilt for the rest of her life.”
“I’d do it again, if I had to.” Bucky reassures the man in front of him.
“Good. Well I’ll get going now. See you at the wedding.”
Bucky smiles and nods, following Eddie to the door and closing it behind the older man. When he turns he sees you walking around and turning off lights before making your way towards him. He smiles as you throw yourself into his arms.
“Let’s go to bed.” He says softly, feeling as you take a deep breath and exhale.
You practically melt against Bucky as you nod. Bucky kisses the top of your head as his hold on you tightens. He doesn’t let you go, instead Bucky leans down and hooks his hands around the back of your knees. You wrap your legs around his waist as he makes his way up the stairs while carrying you to your shared room.
Bucky lays you down and you laugh while he tucks you in. “Do you want me to read you a bedtime story?”
“Shut up and get in bed.”
“I keep telling you this is where Charlotte gets her attitude from.” Bucky mutters as he takes off his shirt and settles beside you.
You laugh as Bucky pulls you closer. With a sigh you lay your head on Bucky’s chest.
“Is everything ok?” He asks.
“I guess. The funeral is tomorrow.”
“Do you want to go?”
“No. I’m done with everything that has to do with Lorraine. I have more important things to focus on.”
“Yeah?” Bucky looks down at you and smiles. “Like what?”
“Like marrying the love of my life.”
“Well that does sound like it’s super important.”
“It is.” You snuggle closer to Bucky. “I can’t wait to marry you.”
“I can’t wait either, Sugar.”

From Your Smile to Your Soul
Bucky Barnes x F!Enchanced!reader
Synopsis: You don't want to go on this mission and Bucky doesn't want the girl whose smile brings him happiness getting hurt. But what can either of you do when your job is to heal others? If only you had told him that you weren't ok, if only he had made sure you were right behind him.
Word Count: 4.8k
Warnings: angst, language, drinking, mentions of guns/injury/blood, hypothermia, asshole SHIELD agents, Bucky gets teary eyed, happy fluff-filled ending...
-I do not consent to having any of my writing, under the username Orions- Athenaeum, translated, posted or published on third party sites, apps or platforms-
Bucky didn’t think there was anything worth enjoying in his new life. Of course he appreciated Steve’s unwavering loyalty and the ease that he brought Bucky after he was freed from Hydra. There also was Sam’s annoying banter which usually gave Bucky something to smirk about, but he would never admit that to anyone. When Bucky didn’t understand what a text message was, Wanda and Natasha helped him adapt to the technological “wonders” of this modern time. He was even glad when Tony would crack an “old joke” just to get under his skin, because Bucky knew humor was Tony’s way of showing he cared. While Bucky was grateful for everything his teammates did for him, there was still a very obvious void, that felt almost like a ten ton weight sitting on his chest, trying to steal his breath from him. That feeling of immense pressure and simultaneous emptiness only began to lessen about four months ago, on a balmy summer evening when Steve dragged Bucky to one of Tony’s lavish galas.
Bucky didn’t know who or what the event was for, in all honesty he figured Tony was just looking for another excuse to throw a party. The former Winter Soldier had been a part of the team for a while now, but these types of social gatherings never failed to make him feel extremely unsettled. Maybe it was the way he felt people’s eyes lingered on him for too long, whether it was from fear or judgment. Or maybe it was that the suit Natasha had helped him pick out was nearly suffocating him. It could have also been the glass filled with some unknown booze that felt uncomfortably heavy in his vibranium hand. All this to say, Bucky was certain the tension in his shoulders was palpable as he checked his watch for the thirtieth time that evening; he was waiting for the hands to tell him he had waited a respectful amount of time before he could seek out the comfort of his own room. Bucky reluctantly pulled his eyes up from his watch and began to scan the room, hoping to find Steve and with him some sense of calmness. His search was cut short when his gaze landed on a girl chatting with Peter near the bar. She had short y/h/c hair that reminded him of a girl from his own time, messier and not as curled perhaps, but classic nonetheless. Her long, black, strapless dress and sleek platform heels reminded him of something Natasha might have worn. He wondered for a second if maybe Nat had helped her pick out an outfit too. Deciding that was an utterly ridiculous thought a second later, Bucky found himself enamored by her smile. It was all he could focus on: that beautiful, perfect smile. One corner of her mouth curved up more than the other and her full red painted lips made it impossible for Bucky to look away. Seconds felt like hours and as Bucky continued to look at her, he found a smile involuntarily tugging at his own lips. Amazingly enough, he didn’t feel so out of place anymore.
“It’s rude to stare.” Bucky quickly jerked his head towards Sam’s voice. His smile immediately faded as he glared at his friend.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Wilson.” Even Bucky didn’t believe his words and chances were Sam didn’t either. Despite being a pain in the ass, he was smarter and more observant than Bucky liked to give him credit for. Sam rolled his eyes and ignored Bucky’s hint to drop the topic.
“Why don’t you go and ask her to dance?” Bucky couldn’t breathe. There was no way in hell he could do that. Standing across the room was the prettiest girl he’d seen and Sam thought it would be a good idea for him to ask her for a dance.
“Yeah that will not be happening.” Bucky tossed back the rest of the liquid in his glass, knowing that the pleasant burn of the alcohol would not affect him in the slightest. He wished it would. Maybe a little liquid courage was the push he needed to go over and speak to her.
“Look man, she’s gorgeous and really sweet, I met her this morning. All I’m saying is that she would totally say yes if you asked. She was staring at you too, by the way.” This morning. Bucky recalled Sam telling him he met a new member of the team earlier that morning. Maybe he would have the chance to see her again if she was the one Sam was referring to. Shaking his head to extinguish any false hope he had conjured up, Bucky realized that Sam was telling the truth; the girl was staring right back at him. After a few seconds, she raised her delicate fingers and sent a small wave. Bucky almost keeled over on the spot. Not knowing what else to do, he awkwardly raised his own hand back. She smiled. He smiled. And just like that Bucky knew he was a goner.
Four months later…
“No.” Bucky refused to change his mind. Steve rolled his eyes at his friend, who currently stood across the room with his arms crossed over his chest with a look that said, this is your final warning. Steve knew better than to try and push his best friend around, but this really was a mission that required her skills. There were dozens of hostages, and they would need medical attention. Not from doctors, but from her.
“Buck. You know I wouldn’t put Y/n in the field if I didn’t think it was absolutely necessary.” Bucky did not move. Steve sighed. And people call me stubborn. He thought to himself.
“I understand that you want to protect her Bucky, I really do. But she is a part of this team. Y/n’s an Avenger and her role is to heal people. Now, there are people who need her help and she is going to go and help them. If you would prefer not to lead this mission than I can have someone else take-”
“No.” Bucky was quick to cut off Steve’s offer. His tone was firm, but just below the surface Bucky was panicking. He didn’t want his girl out in the field. But if Y/n had to go, he couldn’t stand the thought of not being out there with her. Steve raised a brow.
“I’ll go. But you better make sure there is no way we’re gonna get ambushed. We’d better be prepared. I won’t hesitate to beat your ass if something happens to Y/n.” Bucky turned to leave the conference room as Steve muttered something under his breath.
“What?” Bucky snapped.
“I just said it seems like you care about Y/n an awful lot when she isn’t even your girlfriend.” Bucky knew Steve was trying to get him to admit that he was too scared to ask her out. But honestly, Bucky wasn’t in the mood for his best friend to play matchmaker. So, without a look back, he stormed out into the corridor towards the gym. He was set on taking his anger and fear out on some punching bags, but as he walked through the halls all he could think about was her smile. He needed that smile safe. If he could just wrap it in his arms and shield it from all the bad, he would be happy for the rest of his life.
————————————————————————
You were certain there had to have been some kind of mistake. The thick Manila folder that sat on your desk marked “MISSION BRIEFING” had to have been delivered to the wrong room. Bucky was just across the hall, so maybe it was for him. That had to be it, because there was no way they were seriously considering putting you out in the field after only four months of being on the team. You weren’t even supposed to be a field agent. Nick Fury had recruited you because of your powers. Sure, you could mend a broken bone and fuse a gunshot wound close, but that did not mean you fought on the front lines. It meant you waited until your team was back to the safety of the compound to help them. Refusing to open the folder you picked it up and made your way to Bucky’s door.
“Buck?” You called as you knocked on the cool wood. You gasped as it opened not a second later. Bucky was standing in front of you in all his post gym, sweaty, shirtless glory.
“Hey, doll. What’s up?” He asked with a smirk tugging at his lips. That damned smirk. You immediately drew your gaze away from his tight abs and pretty smile up to his eyes. Which, honestly, didn't help because you found yourself getting lost in a sea of deep cerulean blue. It seemed that every aspect of Bucky had an overwhelming effect on you. Deciding it was best to stare at the carpet instead, you fumbled with the folder before showing it to him.
“I think they gave this to me by accident, because I’m not usually in the field. Actually I’ve never been in the field and so it’s probably yours and I just wanted to give it to you.” Your words came out all in one breath and you kept your gaze focused on the floor at your feet. You felt Bucky gently take the folder from your grasp. You were ready to let out a sigh of relief when you felt his fingers thread through your own as he lightly pulled you into his room. As your heart beat began to quicken, the brief confusion you had felt quickly morphed into anxiety. Why didn’t he just take his mission briefing and send you on your merry way? He gestured for you to sit down on his bed as he sat next to you.
“No, this is yours.” He finally said. The finality in his tone made you want to throw up. “Steve told me this morning. But I made him promise that there would be no combat, and I’ll be leading. There will be two other agents, so you’re not alone. The mission should be fairly quick, in and out and then we come home. I promise I won’t let anything happen to you.” His words were somewhat of a comfort. You also knew that the rest of the team was fairly confident in your abilities, since Nat, Sam and Steve had all trained extensively with you over the last four months. Bucky refused to spar with you but that's besides the point. Although, you weren’t really worried about not being able to defend yourself. You had been trained and ran through mission scenarios, but the weight of the briefing envelope in your hands was making this too real. It also didn’t help that every single agent wanted to rip you apart because you were given a spot on the Avengers without making it into SHIELD as an agent. You had tried to put yourself through training, but during your first field test, you instantly choked. All of the sudden the gun pointed at the enemy agent in front of you made your arms feel like lead. Your brain wouldn’t let you pull the trigger, so you stood there, frozen. You were positive you were going to be removed from the program, but when Nick Fury heard about your healing powers, you were suddenly offered a spot as an Avenger. So, to put it plainly, every single SHIELD agent hated you. They hated that you failed training and still got the most coveted title, they hated that you lived in Avengers Tower, they hated that you got everything they wanted. The real problem, which was much bigger than any jealous agent’s spiteful remarks, was that you could not stomach the idea of hurting someone. That was the reason why you failed your training in the first place, because bad guy or not, you were given the gift of healing. You were never supposed to cause pain and it seemed as if the concept of harming someone was against your very nature. Pulling the trigger on a paper silhouette was one thing. Aiming a gun at another human being was quite another. So while the training you had done prepared you for taking down enemies, you’re not entirely sure you could bring yourself to that.
“Ok.” Was all you could manage. Some time during your internal spiral Bucky had begun rubbing soothing circles on your back. Bucky was another aspect of this assignment that you had to consider. You weren’t sure how to feel about him going on the mission with you. Your relationship was a little confusing at times to say the least. You knew that you cared about him more than a friend would and he often made it seem like he felt the same way. You had felt this way from the very first night you met him, when he caught you staring at him and you awkwardly waved (who the hell waves at a hot guy across the room?) Bucky was also the first one to make you feel like you were truly part of the team. He would bring your breakfast to the lab when you were working mornings and didn’t have time to eat, he would make sure you had a good spot on the couch for team movie nights (it was coincidentally always next to him) and then there were time like these where he would comfort you and do everything in his power to make you feel safe and cared for. Basically, in the four months that you had known him, you were falling in love with Bucky Barnes.
“Ok, what, doll?” And those stupid pet names definitely weren’t helping you keep your feelings at bay.
“Ok. Sounds good, I guess I’ll see you at the hangar in a few hours.” You replied, unwilling to meet his eyes, you slowly picked up the folder and walked towards his door. An unnerving feeling overcame you as you heard the heavy wood close behind you.
————————————————————————
You figured the mission would not be a walk in the park, and as you sat in the middle of Siberia, with two agents that hate you and hostages with far more injuries than Steve had anticipated, you knew this easily made your “Top Ten Worst Days list.” Of course you were more than happy to help every hostage, that was the only part you enjoyed. However, the amount of energy it took to heal so many injuries resulted in black dots clouding your vision by the time you had helped the last hostage. The thing about your healing abilities was that you had to use your energy to heal others. Meaning healing their injuries literally exhausts you. And on top of the twenty broken bones, abrasions and burns you’ve healed, Megan and Nick had a few bumps and bruises from breaking down the door and restraining the guards that needed mending. According to Megan, Bucky told them to go to you since they need to be in top shape for the trek back to the safe house. While the safe house sounded pleasant, the fact that it was currently 40 below and that the shelter was three miles out in the middle of a forest, was not as pleasant. After you finished healing Megan’s bruised ankle, the dizziness that had settled in a few minutes prior was now overwhelming. If you could just sit down for a few minutes and maybe close your eyes, you would feel much better.
“Get up. We need to meet Bucky in a few minutes. A storm is moving in so we can’t take the jet back until morning. Bucky secured the hostages in an exit raft and we need to find the safehouse soon.” Megan sneered as she pushed your hands away from her ankle.
“Could I just have one minute? I’m not feeling-”
“You’re an Avenger, right? So get off your ass and start walking.” You hesitantly stood up, apparently too quickly because you began swaying and lurched forward, catching yourself against a tree. The frozen bark cut into your skin, slicing your palms. Willing your head to stop spinning you looked down at your bloodied hands. Another downside of your powers was that once your energy had been spent, it became nearly impossible for you to continue healing, which meant you could not help yourself or others when you were this exhausted. You heard Megan’s boots crunch in the snow as she began to walk, blatantly ignoring your compromised state. Since it appeared you had no other option, you began walking as well, but the edges of your vision were fuzzy and it felt like someone had thrown your head against a wall. If you could just get to Bucky maybe he would let you rest for a minute. No. You couldn’t ask him for that, Megan and Nick already thought you got special treatment for being an Avenger you didn’t need them to see parts of yours and Bucky’s friendship in the field. Plus, Bucky had been acting weird ever since you stepped foot on the quinjet. He called you by your last name and his usual soft eyes and teasing tone had left him completely. It made sense, you told yourself as you pushed forward, because this was his job, and he didn’t really care about you like that. The frigid chill had begun to seep through your suit, and though you had never been a huge fan of the cold, you were thankful for it now. It was keeping you awake and alert, the sting of the snow hitting your face gave you something to focus on so you wouldn’t pass out. Finally you reached the clearing where Bucky was waiting. You glanced up to find his concerned gaze looking you over. You used all your strength to muster up a smile and nodded your head to let him know you were ok. He seemed satisfied enough, and told the team to start walking.
How you managed to walk two miles you weren’t sure, but what you did know was that you were now falling behind the others. You were following Nick and Megan who had been keeping a fairly even pace with Bucky. But now, with the snow whipping all around you, you couldn’t see or hear any of them. Maybe this would be a good time to take a break. It would only be for a few minutes and nobody would notice that you had taken a breather. As the snow storm had progressed you had lost feeling in your fingers and toes, and it seemed like everything was moving in slow motion. You thought you reached out to brace yourself on a tree but instead you felt like you were falling. It didn’t hurt when you hit the powdery snow, its cold embrace only called you to rest your eyes. You obeyed and felt your eyelids slowly blink shut. I’ll only rest for a minute, you told yourself. Just as you were about to let sleep pull you under, you heard shouting. The voice sounded familiar as it called your name over the howling of the wind. You knew you should answer but you simply didn’t have the energy. Then, you felt strong arms lift you up and a familiar fresh, piney scent filled your nose. This is what Bucky smells like, you thought to yourself.
“Could you open those pretty eyes for me. Please, doll. I’m begging you, give me anything.”
Bucky sounded like he was talking underwater.
“You are not allowed to do this to me, I swear I’ll make it up to you but you gotta wake up so we can talk.” And why did he seem so worried? You wanted to tell him that you were fine but you couldn’t get the words out.
“Why wouldn’t you say something?” Bucky’s muddled voice had more of an edge this time. His sharp tone made sense, he had every right to be mad at you, it was you who was slowing down the mission and now he had to pick up the slack.
“I didn’t see her fall behind, she was fine a minute ago.” This time it was a woman who responded and somewhere in your mind you figured it was Megan. But you hadn’t been “fine a minute ago,” in fact you hadn’t felt ok for over an hour.
“You’re supposed to watch out for your teammates, so I’m going to ask again, why the hell did you not say something?” In your dazed state you realized Bucky was directing his anger at Megan not at you and well you felt some reprieve from the fact that Bucky didn’t seem too disappointed in you, you were beginning to slip further and further into the shadows of sleep. You knew you needed to stay awake, but you couldn’t feel anything, not the snow hitting your cheeks, or Bucky’s frantic pace, and your entire body felt completely numb. Time began to pass strangely after that moment, you heard some more gargled shouting before you felt your body being laid down on something hard. You found some odd burst of energy and forced your eyelids to open, looking up to find Bucky’s worried eyes desperately trying to hold your gaze. His eyes seemed glossier and much more concerned than normal, but you couldn’t figure out why. “C’mon Y/n, I’ll get you warm and you’ll be alright. I’m gonna have to get your wet gear off first, but I promise I’ll make it all better ok, sweetheart? I love you too much to let go now.” Love? Why would Bucky be talking about love, he seemed so frustrated with you in the field. His face disappeared from view a moment later and you thought you heard the sound of fabric ripping. Bucky yelled for someone to get blankets and before you could tell him that all his shouting was confusing and much too loud, you surrendered yourself to the peaceful comfort of unconsciousness.
You didn’t know when you became aware of your surroundings again, whether it had been minutes or weeks, you couldn’t tell. You could smell burning wood accompanied by a familiar piney scent that you soon identified as Bucky, but you couldn’t open your eyes to confirm your theory. When you heard a deep voice laced with a Brooklyn accent from somewhere around you, you didn’t have to look at Bucky to know whose arms were protecting you.
“...Remember when we were in Queens and you made me go inside that old book store with you? We stayed there until they closed and you kept handing me books that would, “change your life, I swear it, Bucky.” I didn’t like reading much in the forties but I woulda stayed there with you for weeks if it meant I got to see that smile of yours every time you read something funny. I’ll take you back there but you gotta wake up first, alright?” Bucky’s words were soothing, and his soft voice gently lulled you back to sleep before you could answer his request.
Bucky was talking again when you tried to wake up for a second time,
“...Everything about you is perfect, doll, like how you always scrunch your nose when Sam’s cooking looks awful, but you eat it anyway with a smile on your face because you’re just happy he cared enough to make you something.” You wanted to smile for Bucky, open your mouth, say anything. But your head was still too heavy and you couldn’t break through the cloud of sleep that kept dragging you back under.
This time you could feel warmth running up and down your arms, as if someone was trying to coax you from sleep with their caring touch. You waited for Bucky to talk to you again, you found yourself needing his words to anchor you to consciousness.
“...You should’ve told me sooner, sweetheart, I coulda carried you, given you a little break. You know I would do just about anything for you right? Hell, I think everyone on this damn team thinks I’m weak when it comes to you. But you don’t make me weak, Y/n, you give me a reason to smile, you make me feel better about the world and like I’m not too broken to be a part of it…” You wanted to take Bucky’s face in your hands and tell him that he was not broken, that he was worth more than your words would ever mean. But it still seemed like too much work to open your eyes, so you kept them shut and let your mind slip back into sleep for a little longer.
————————————————————————
Your skin felt like it was on fire, that was the first thing you noticed when you fully regained consciousness. Something heavy was laying across your stomach and there was a solid presence holding you that seemed to radiate the same amount of heat as the crackling fire in front of you.
“Y/n? Doll? Thank God you’re finally awake, how’re you feeling?
At the sound of his voice you slowly turned to face Bucky and were met with a look of adoration in those blue eyes, which made you feel even worse for making him take care of you.
“I’m sorry I messed the mission up, Barnes.” Even though your sight was still a little blurry you could make out the confusion in his face. Pushing some hair out of your face he asked,
“You never call me Barnes, what’s up with that Y/n/n? And what are goin’ on about, “messing up the mission,” you didn’t do a damn thing wrong. If Megan and Nick had done their jobs as teammates you wouldn’t be in this situation. It’s my fault too ya know, I should've checked you over before I made you walk three miles. You looked a little tired when I first saw you but I think I tricked myself into believing you were safe, all I ever want is for you to be safe, Y/n.” You weren’t quite sure how to answer him, your brain felt like quicksand, trapping your thoughts from becoming words.
“And you never answered my question, Y/n, you feelin’ better?” You nodded slowly, during the time you had been asleep your body had slowly heated up, you had regained feeling in your limbs and your mind was feeling less foggy by the minute.
“Thanks for getting me out of there, Bucky. I mean, it’s not like I needed your help, I just wanted to sleep for a few minutes.” You attempted to lighten the mood by pushing out a laugh that sounded more like a light exhale.
“There she is, that’s the girl I love.” You whipped your head back with such force that Bucky had to place his hand on your neck to prevent you from giving yourself whiplash. You stared into his eyes, determined to find out if he was really speaking the truth.
“I do love you Y/n, I have from the minute I caught you smiling at Tony’s stupid gala. You’re perfect to me, in every possible way, from your smile to your soul.” Of course you felt the same way for him. Bucky was your best friend, he made you laugh and his heart and the care that he gave out freely never ceased to amaze you. You watched his lips turn into the most perfect smile and you found yourself smiling twice as big knowing that there was no moment in your life more wonderful than this one. Right before you could respond a shiver ran through you and Bucky turned you around so you were facing the fireplace again.
“Hey, Bucky?” you received a low hum and a kiss behind your ear in response. “You should really shower, you smell like an old barn.” He chuckled and replied, “Jeez, doll, I save your life and tell you that I love you, and all you do is tell me that I smell?” You could tell that Bucky knew you were teasing, but you didn’t feel like letting him off the hook quite yet.
“I guess I love you too.” You mumbled with an obvious grin in your voice.
“I know you do doll, I only wish you had said something sooner, then I woulda had more opportunities to torture you for makin’ fun of me.” With that, Bucky began to tickle your stomach, while still being wary of your injuries, earning an eruption of giggles from your mouth. After a few seconds Bucky pulled you back against him and whispered a soft, “sleep, sweet girl, I’ve got you,” into your hair. Your eyes slowly fell shut and you felt completely content, knowing you were safe in the arms of the man who loved you, and who you loved right back.

Smut under the cut
Your cunt was so warm and red and swollen, having been used by Bucky for the past 45 minutes for his dining pleasure. His mouth spoke the most glorious praise to you, but treated your pussy so badly.
You loved every second of it.
Bucky swiped his tongue through your folds, collecting your taste in his mouth, then he pulled back and looked at it, licking his lips.
He loved being buried in it, knuckle deep, tongue shoved to the hilt, or his cock buried tight and rocking against that spongy spot inside you. However you were served up to him, James Buchanan Barnes could swim in you.
He looked up at you in disbelief. Those blue eyes almost hurting yours they shone so bright. You almost gasped, but spoke instead.
“What? What is that look James?”
“I can’t believe you don't know how you affect me. How beautiful you are. Even when pregnant, especially when pregnant.”
He looked at you quizzically, as if he truly did not understand your insecurities as you peered at him over your new little belly.
“This, this beautiful flower…”
He looked back down at your pussy and leaned down to give another lick, allowing saliva to run down his tongue and drip onto your clit, then rubbing it in like it was precious oil and your skin revered.
“Mmmmmmmmmmm.”
His moan made you vibrate.
Those eyes again.
“Deserves to be worshipped.”
And he switched his long, thick fingers around so that he could insert and curl them to your spot as he made out with your clit.
His eyes looked up at you and watched yours glaze over, then roll back into your head. His hand slid from your thigh to your belly and rubbed, then up to your sensitive nipples and gently tugged.
The sensations melded and you came, for the fourth time, at Bucky’s will.
You lay back on the impossible number of pillows Bucky had bought and closed your eyes, spent.
“I know you’re tired, Doll. Just let me get in there. Keep me warm, Baby.”
Bucky’s mammoth cock was tame and his voice was even. He wasn’t interested in fucking you stupid right now. All he wanted was for you to rest and to be buried inside you.
Bucky’s metal arm grabbed your thigh and lifted it as he grabbed his cock in the other hand and worked it inside you, sighing deeply as you moaned when he was fully seated.
“Fuck! You feel so good.”
“Yes, James, you do too. I feel so full. Love you.”
Your eyes were drooping.
“I love you too, so much.”
He leaned up and kissed your shoulder, and gathered you into his arms, pulling you close against his chest He watched you as you dozed, running his hand along your side, watching your profile from his vantage point and your full face in the full wall mirror that was propped up on your side of the bed.
“You’re so so beautiful doll. Don’t ever believe otherwise.”
Bucky whispered it, and you smiled, mostly asleep. He caught it in the mirror and his dick began to swell at how sexy you looked, pregnant with his child, naked around him, and having chosen a life and family with him.
Bucky dropped his head to the pillow and tried not to get too worked up. He tried to sleep, but he seldom needed it, and now he was excited. And now he was balls deep in the sexiest woman alive, trying not to wake her up.
You were dead to the world. You began having an erotic dream, and Bucky was fucking you from behind, on a boat, the vessel swaying with the tide.
He was hitting it good, pulling your hair and it felt like his dick was twice the size you remembered. He was whispering nasty things in your ear and you pulsed around his cock, orgasm deep and intense.
Bucky felt when you started to dream. Your cunt started leaking around him and you commenced to moving up and down his shaft. He tried to still you by holding on to your hip, but that only made you moan and him swell even more.
“Oh, James…feels so gooooddd. Dick is so big,.. Why this boat? Oh. Don’t care… … don’t stop.”
The realization that you were having a dream about him made him grunt with the effort to hold back. He didn’t want to take advantage of you but… you were calling his name.
Then you started begging.
“Fuck me hard, James… please. Please? Pretty please?”
Your sexy little sleeping voice did things to him, yet he stayed still. You were now fucking yourself on his cock and he was under your spell.
Bucky watched you in the mirror as your face contorted, and when your pussy started squeezing his cock with your dream orgasm, he couldn’t help but push deeper into you, his tip meeting your cervix.
You cried out in your sleep and grasped the pillow. Your orgasm was so intense that it triggered his, and he coated your insides with his spend.
Bucky was undone by you and the power you had over him in your sleep.
“Fuck. Baby. I love you.”
It was a whisper that you wouldn’t remember hearing as you fell into a deeper sleep.
Bucky was panting like he’d run 10 miles, and he didn’t know if it was your enhanced body or his own, but he’d finally spent his energy.
He kissed your shoulder again and fell asleep, still semi-hard inside you. If he died like this it would be more than he ever deserved.
Maybe later you two would make love, fully awake and aware.
But right now you had time.
Take some time and let me know how you feel!

The Princess (and the chaos she brings with her) - steve rogers x fem!reader (1/?)
Summary: when Thor asked the avengers to guard a dear friend of his, they didn't think twice before saying yes. What they didn't know was that said friend is the princess of one of the nine realms, and a lost love of one Captain Rogers.
Part 1 // I thought you were dead // word count: 3.5k
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"(y/n), you have to eject, right now!" Steve screamed over the torrents of wind whistling through the ship. Schmidt was dead, gone. So was the tesseract. But it wasn't over yet. "I have to put her in the water!"
The girl behind him widened her eyes, battling against the elements to reach him. "There's no world in which I let you do that, Captain!"
"I'm not asking for permission!"
"Well then, I guess we go down together!" She painstakingly made her way to him, every step a feat of strength. Her previously neatly pinned curls no longer even resembled what they once were as her hair whipped around her face.
As Steve turned to face her, she somehow still looked angelic. He felt that right now, she was more heavenly than ever. He couldn't let her die with him.
"Buckle in." He commanded, as they began their quick descent. He looked at her, the first woman who had ever made him feel seen, the only person he had ever met who was as crazy as he was.
As the ice flew closer, he turned and placed a hand tenderly on her face. Tears welled in his eyes as his mind wandered to the future they could've had. God, they could have been amazing.
"I'm sorry, (y/n)." He whispered. She could only just hear it, even though they were right next to each other.
He pulled the yellow ejection lever on the seat she had just buckled herself into, watching as her eyes widened. "No! Steve, no!" She lifted her hands to stop him, to jam the lever, anything to stay with him. She wasn't quick enough.
Steve closed his eyes as her seat was ejected, hearing her scream his name. There was no world where he allowed her to go down with him, and he trusted that wherever she ended up, Stark and Peggy would find her. He hoped they would be able to find him, too.
He hadn't prayed in a long time, but as he went down, he bargained with God for her safety.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is my honour to introduce the new and improved Captain America and the Howling Commandos exhibit, in honour of the 100th birthday of Captain Steven Grant Rogers." The crowd clapped as the senator stepped off the podium, motioning for Steve to take the mic. Bucky and Sam laughed at how uncomfortable the Captain was as he stood thanking everyone for an exhibit he never wanted. All part of the job, he supposed.
After the handshakes, and the photo ops, and the autographs and the meet and greets, the boys finally got relative peace to wander around the new exhibition.
"I can't believe you used to wear these stupid suits." Sam laughed, standing in front of the main exhibit. Bucky sighed, budging Sam's shoulder. "Says the asshole who wears a bird suit to fight." He retorts.
Steve laughed at his friends antics, but walked away when he noticed an addition to the exhibit he hadn't seen before. He stared, wide eyed at the name in front of him.
(Y/N): THE MISSING HERO?
Steve found himself drinking in every inch of the gorgeous photo underneath the text, her bright smile and barely visible freckles. The lighting highlighted the different hues in her immaculately pinned hair. She looked just like an angel, as she always did in real life.
Steve looked down, forlorn eyes investigating very few artefacts in the glass exhibit. Her folded uniform, found in her room after the plane went down. The blush lipstick you wore every day. Finally, an object that Steve didn't recognise. A golden ring, encrusted in unidentified jewels and a family crest no one knew. He frowned.
He had known her only a short few months, but he regretted never asking about her family. And now, it would haunt him that he never did until his last breath.
"They never found her, huh?" Bucky placed his covered hand on Steve's shoulder, a sadness tinged in his voice. He had only met (y/n) briefly, but he knew even then that Steve's heart rested in the palm of that woman's hand.
He had asked about her, once, but the look on Steve's face when her name was mentioned told him everything he needed to know.
"No. Howard searched for years, found nothing. Turned out that she had lied on her intake forms for the SSR, too. We don't even know if (y/n) was really her name." He took a beat. "We have no idea if she survived or not."
Steve didn't have to make the subtext clear, Bucky knew he worried that he had killed her by ejecting her from that plane. Bucky also knew there was no sense in trying to tell him she would have died either way, that the ice would've killed her.
"You okay?" Bucky asked, after another few moments of silence.
Steve nodded, looking at the photo. "I'm glad she's remembered. I just wish I didn't have so many unanswered questions."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So," Tony started. "Thor is arriving with the guest of honour later today, who we have agreed to protect here for the meantime. We don't have a lot of background for this one. The dark elves are the ones we're protecting her against, but Thor said threat could come from many areas. Do we have any questions?"
The team looked nothing short of bored. Well, most of them. Cap always had the good grace to sit up and look interested. Scott was straight up asleep.
"Is she important? How long will she be staying with us?" Steve asked.
"No idea, and uh, no idea. Anything else?"
"Is she single?" Sam asked, earning a laugh from some of the others. Steve shook his head disapprovingly, but smiled at his friend's levity.
As Steve stood up to go back to training, FRIDAY sounded around the room. "Excuse me everyone, my satellites have detected a bifrost signal heading for the compound imminently."
"Speak of the devil!" Tony clapped his hands as everyone headed out to the bifrost landing site (something that had been instituted after Tony's lawn got scorched one too many times).
Bucky smacked Scott upside the head to wake him up with a jolt. "Oh, where are you guys going?" He called behind them, jogging to catch up. Steve waited behind from him, laughing at his groggy friend.
A bright light connected with the grass just beside the landing site. Tony's hands covered his eyes as he mouthed are you fucking kidding me. When the light cleared, Thor stood tall in his usual armour.
"My friends!" His voice boomed, "I present to you, my fellow avengers, the honourable princess of Alfheim, jewel of the Alfar and ambassador to Asgard." Thor's voice boomed through the halls of the compound. "This is my friend, (y/n)."
Beside Thor stood a girl. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with a heavenly stature. She looked like she could have been carved from marble by the hands of God himself.
A light Asgardian pink dress was covered by a golden chest-plate which fit her body like it had been moulded just for her. It was covered in intricate etchings of suns and stars, which caught the light and shone brilliantly. She wore golden jewellery, which was nothing like the avengers had ever seen. Golden ear cuffs covered her pointed ears, with her long hair pulled into an up-do, emphasising the golden, bejewelled tiara on her head.
"Princess?" Sam squeaked. Wanda smacked him, with a look that screamed don't embarrass us.
Tony tilted his head in confusion at the guest, who he could almost swear he recognised from somewhere. "Thor, you did not inform us that we were looking after the ruler of a planet. We would have been more prepared."
"I am not ruler yet, Mr. Stark." The girl cast her eyes up at Tony, as she smiled sweetly. Her voice was honey smooth, and anyone who heard it felt themselves being charmed by it. "I have heard much about you all from Thor."
"Should we bow?" Bruce whispered to Tony, who shrugged his shoulders. Thankfully, (y/n) took the lead and shook each of their hands.
She looked around at each of the gathered avengers. Thor made his introductions to the rest of the group. "Where are the others?" Thor enquired.
"Here!" Steve smiled at the site of his old friend, his view of the princess obscured by the large man. Bucky and Scott tagged behind him, also happily greeting Thor.
"Captain, it is very good to see you. Please, let me introduce you to the Princess (y/n)." Thor stepped aside to introduce them, but his eyebrows knitted together in confusion when neither of them moved, almost frozen in place.
"Uh... hi." Scott side-stepped the Captain and caught the eye of their guest. "My name's Scott Lang."
The girl tore her eyes away from the captain, unsure really on what to do. But her training kicked in, knowing that being rude was one of the worst sins a princess could commit. "Hello, Mr. Lang. I am (y/n)."
"Holy shit." Bucky breathed out.
The rest of the avengers watched the rather silent exchange with confusion. It was very unlike Steve to get so tongue-tied, and he would never be so rude as to not introduce himself.
"Captain Rogers..." The girl spoke first, confusing them further. "I believed you dead." Tears had welled in her eyes, intriguing the observing crowd even more.
"I thought you were dead." He breathed. "What... what is going on?"
Bucky interjected. "Um, hi. I'm Bucky, we met briefly in '45."
She smiled softly at him, but her eyes betrayed her confusion. "Sergeant Barnes, of course! Didn't you... also die?"
"Yeah, we've all got a lot of explaining to do." Bucky laughed as the absurdity of the situation caught up to him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thor's eyes darted between his friend and the captain. When Thor asked the avengers to guard her from the war on Alfheim, he knew some hijinks would ensue. This is not what he expected. He knew you had spent some time on Midgard before and when you returned you were emotionally distraught. He had simply figured the war you had fought with the Midgardians had taken it's toll.
He eyed both the Captain and you, suspiciously. You were his dear friend, but you had never talked to him about any mortal love.
"So, Princess. You've been here before." Tony enquired.
The Princess licked her lips nervously, glancing at Steve, who had barely moved a muscle, his eyebrows furrowed. "Yes, Mr. Stark. I spent some time here during the second world war. I left Midgard when Johann Schmidt was defeated, and haven't returned since."
"Tell us about your world, Princess. I've never heard of it before." Natasha, the red-head in the corner, asked the guest.
"You have heard of it before." The princess smiled, explaining. "I believe we are now known as a fantasy character here - you call us elves." She pointed to her pointed ears as each avenger clung to her words.
Thor smiled at his Midgardian friends' curiosity.
"The Alfar still live amongst you, they are simply unseen. I believe you may know Tolkien?" At the mention of the author's name, everyone's ears pricked. "He was one of my father's greatest friends and many of his book settings were inspired by Alfheim."
"What!" Scott exclaimed. "That's insane."
"Really, Ant Man?" Bucky responded, pointing out that they were all ridiculous, when you thought about it. The world was crazy now.
The princess chuckled, and rose from her seat at the conference table. "Thank you very much for your hospitality, Avengers. I would quite like to rest in my chambers, if you would be so gracious to allow me."
"Um, yeah... consider yourself allowed." Tony stumbled over his words. Very unusual for him, and it did not go unnoticed by the others. "Dinner is at seven."
"Thank you, Mr. Stark. Captain Rogers," She addressed the Captain, who looked up quickly. His face was pale, and he nervously twiddled his thumbs. "Would you be so kind as to show me my rooms?"
He popped up, almost comedically fast. "Yes. Yeah, sure. Um, this way." He walked out quickly, darting his eyes back to make sure the princess was following him.
She followed, gracefully. Her skirts fanned out behind her as she walked. The avengers in the room could scarcely take their eyes off her as she faded from sight.
As soon as the door closed behind them, the room devolved into chaos. People shouting theories and questions left, right and centre. Mostly, everyone was just bewildered. Bucky and Thor discussed how they had both known the couple separately, and whether each had talked about the other.
Natasha watched as Tony sat quietly on his tablet for a few seconds, searching for something she could only assume was relevant to the discussion at hand.
"Bucky, what's the deal there?" Clint asked.
He was interrupted by Tony. "Aha!" Stark called, silencing the room. "I knew I recognised her from somewhere."
He projected a photograph to the wall, and the avengers gasped.
The photograph consisted of Steve and Bucky front and centre. Bucky had his left arm wrapped lazily around Tony's dad, Howard. And Steve was looking directly at the girl next to him, holding her to him by the waist. It was the princess. The gaze he looked at her with... it was like nothing they had ever seen from him.
"They didn't just know each other, they were in love." Bucky replied to Clint's question, a hint of sadness underneath his words.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/n) followed Steve along the large corridors of the compound, her smaller legs working double time to match his long strides. They walked in silence, for the most part. It wasn't the comfortable kind.
"Captain." She spoke first, again. As she called for him, he stopped walking abruptly, turning slowly. He met her gaze and then cast his eye down.
"(y/n)... I mean, um, Princess." He responded.
"(y/n) is sufficient." She whispered, almost guiltily. "I can't believe you're alive..."
"I can't believe you're alive," He retorted. "I searched for you, when I woke up. They couldn't find any records of you other than your enlistment form, and they found you had lied. People think you're just a ghost story..."
He took a breath. "I can't believe you're here and... an alien princess?"
"I know it's hard to believe, I hope you understand why I couldn't tell you back then." She laughed. "When I found that you and Sergeant Barnes were dead, I couldn't face being here anymore... I returned to Alfheim."
As she thought back on it, a tear sprung to her eye. On seeing her reaction, Steve couldn't help himself but place a friendly hand on her back, rubbing soothing circles. She briefly froze at the contact, but quickly, she moved her own hand down his arm until she was holding onto his hand with both of hers.
So much went unsaid, but the contact confirmed what they had both most desperately wanted to know. Would it be the same?
"If I had known that you and Sergeant Barnes were alive, Captain..." She admitted. "I would have returned in an instant, I give you my word."
He smiled, rubbing a thumb over the back of her hand. A red blush hugged her cheeks as he did so.
It was typical of him that he couldn't concentrate on the moment, "Why are you here?" He asked. "What are we protecting you from?"
She sighed. "The Svartalfar, or the dark elves. You may know them - they attacked Thor in the Midgardian city of London some years ago now." He nodded in recognition.
"They are determined to conquer Alfheim, and have set their sights on my family. They have already managed to get close to killing me."
She pushed the collar of her dress down, showing a large, angry, red scar just above her collarbone. His hands flew up to trace the scar. She gulped at the close contact, her eyes meeting his.
His expression gave away his concern, knowing that Thor had suggested she was in a lot of danger. "Don't worry, Princess. You're safe here." He smiled, softly. "We'll protect you with everything we've got."
"Thank you, Captain."
"It's just Steve." He unhooked their hands, and gave her his arm. She linked her arm in his, and he resumed wandering down the halls to her rooms. "Do you have any bags?"
"No, I fled to Asgard with nothing when I needed healing. The Asgardians were kind enough to offer many gorgeous clothes for me to bring, but I figured they were a bit conspicuous."
Steve laughed, "Yeah, they might be."
They walked for a little while longer, before Steve entered a room to the side. It was rather basic compared to what she was used to, but it would more than suffice for the meantime.
"This is your room." He stood by the door as she entered. "I'm just down the hall if you need anything. I'll get Tony to send you some less conspicuous clothes. See you at dinner."
"Thank you, Steven." He laughed at her inability to be too informal with him. He nodded at her, and turned to walk down the hall to his room.
As he entered, the photograph of her from the Smithsonian caught his eye from the nightstand. He picked it up, tracing her features with his finger - unable to stop the smile spreading across his face. Who would've thought? Not only was his girl alive, she was also alien royalty. Sometimes, just sometimes, he adored his strange, strange world.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sir," The agent walked into the dark room with purpose in her every step. "The Princess has been spotted."
The man in the chair looked up at the mention of his target. "Show me" he ordered. He watched as agent transferred the images on her tablet to the big screen, showing grainy, far away surveillance of the avengers compound.
As low quality as the image was, the woman arriving with Thor in the distinctive Alfar dress and armour was certainly the princess.
"Oh, my dear..." The man's deep voice dragged out. "You have walked right into our sights."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

heyyyy...how are you doing.????
I was just wondering that if you have the idea of writing one shots for static verse , could you.. maybe write something where static takes Bucky as her date to her Harvard reunion...
may be when she was studying , everyone used to be so jealous of her cuz she is basically a sassy smartass...but now in the reunion they are acting so nice because she is a lawyer/avenger.. Definitely faking niceness...
and Jamie boy being too proud of his girl...
The Class of '92 | b.b
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Stark!Reader, Tony Stark x Stark!Reader (siblings)
Genre: Fluffy with a chance of angst.
Summary: Y/n goes to the Harvard Reunion to reap the benefits of the alumni fees she's been giving out for the last three and a half decades.
(This takes place after the events of Static: Get, Set, Glitch. However, it can be read as a stand-alone piece. But it’s fun. I promise.)
Warnings: Swearing, Mentions of Recreational Drug Use, Mentions of Sex, Minors DNI, 18+ Only.
a/n: I think I strayed a little away from the original premise? I'm sorry?
Bucky Barnes, The Boyfriend (other one-shots) | The Falcon, The Winter Soldier and Static | Static: Get, Set, Glitch | Static Verse Masterlist
If she were being completely honest, she never entertained the idea of going to her class reunions. The whole ‘being-half-alien-aging-like-a-nebula-and-looking-the-same-for-years-on-end’ thing kinda took the wind out of her sails whenever she even thought about accepting the invite.
But that was then.
Now people know who she is, what she is. No more reasons to hide, no Ross on her ass trying to hunt her down for the Accords, no giant purple grape looking alien knocking at the door threatening to burn the world down, no younger brother constantly being confused as her older brother.
Fuck. She’ll never get used to that.
The moment the invitation popped up on her laptop screen, her first reaction was to call Tony.
“You’ve got Tony Stark. I’m probably busy saving the world or curing a hangover. You can leave a message at the beep but I only get back to people if they’re hot. F.R.I.D.A.Y. will delete your message if you’re not. You’ve been warned.” The pre-recorded voice-message cut off with a beep.
Exhaling harshly, she spoke softly, “I was calling to ask you if you wanted to go to my reunion with me. Free booze, snobby assholes, jealous losers who hate me for being smarter, and did I mention the free booze? Totally your scene.” She fidgeted with the folder on her desk, nervous about a voicemail. “But you’re busy… being a dead dick so… So I guess I’ll just skip it this year as well.”
Life had other plans, though.
Well, her beloved boyfriend James Bucky Barnes did.
“I can go with you?” He offered.
“What?” she asked him, confused.
“To the reunion,” he answered easily, his eyes still fixed on the omelet he was making for her. “I can go with you. Can’t guarantee I’ll be as fun company as your brother, but I can show you a good time. Pull out all the stops, be the trophy husband of a lifetime.” He smiled at her then. “Only if you want to, though.”
And now here they were.
“This was a bad idea,” she comments, sipping on her drink.
“Why?” Bucky asks her, more confident than her—which don’t get her wrong was hot as fuck, but very unlike them.
“They’re all… they’re all—”
“Old?” Bucky finished with an amused smile.
She couldn’t help the smile that slipped out.
He looks good, comfortable and sen-fucking-sational. He’s wearing a black tux with a white shirt and black bowtie. She’d been a little too busy trying to decide what to wear to have noticed him changing into the outfit. Eventually, having finalized on a white twill suit and a blood red silk shirt with a matching tie, she stepped out of her room. And he was a fucking vision.

Looking at him might just be her favourite hobby. She could pursue that shit as a vocation.
“That happens sometimes.” Bucky tells her. “People do get old, you know?”
She looks around at the crowd. They’re at the prime location for people watching, standing at the bar, far in the corner of the vast room. The lights are dim, only sprinkles of yellow scattered around the venue, the rest is overshadowed by a sea of ocean blue. So, she takes the moment, the isolation and takes a while to soak in his words.
‘People do get old.’
“Yeah… yeah. I know,” she responds solemnly.
He takes a moment too, not to look at the crowd. Bucky seldom looks at anything with interest apart from her. He does the same now, he looks at her, studying the expression on her face. With his assessment done, he says, “I’ve never seen you nervous before.”
“I’m not nervous,” Y/n bites back, scolding him with absolutely no heat whatsoever.
“I’ve never seen you anxious before,” he amends.
Rolling her eyes, “I’m not anxious.”
“Scared?”
She has to look at him then. Brows furrowed, she frowns.
Bucky throws up his hands instantly, admitting his mistake with an adorable smile.
“I used to steal Bruce’s homemade tacos before he learned to control the Hulk,” she smiles too. “I’m not afraid of anything.”
He takes a step closer to her, his words are softer when he speaks but bold enough for her to hear with ease. Gently placing his hand on the small of her back, he asks, “Then what’s wrong, sweetheart?”
“I wasn’t exactly… well, let’s just say there’s a reason I avoided going to class when I was in college,” she answers. Bucky’s face scrunches up at the insinuation.
But before he can enquire about it any further, before she can warn him, a voice cuts in.
“That was because you used to be a facetious little know-it-all,” the man comments. “You didn’t need the classes anyway.” He smiles, and there is no warmth in it.
Bucky must notice because his arm tightens just a little around her.
This was bound to happen sooner or later. She decides to roll with the punches. She knew what she was getting into when she came here.
“Charles Walton,” she greets him with a smile, just as dead as his. “Been a long time.”
“I’d say the same, but you look exactly the same as you did back then—not a hair out of place. I’m not sure time even passed,” he jokes, or well he tries.
“What can I say? It’s the price of being an Avenger,” she bites back.
He laughs, a hollow thing. “Hey, Milkovich!” He yells out over her head. “Guess who showed up!”
Well, fuck.
That one shout is enough to draw the attention of the entire class of 92. Cause almost instantly there’s a crowd gathered around Bucky and her. There’s chuckles and whispers among them—some are bewildered at her presence while others seem itching to make this a battlefield.
“Ah, the famous Avenger,” a female voice chimes in. “You're famous around these parts, you know?” She takes a couple steps closer to them. Assessing her from head to toe, “Not just for being an Avenger, but being so elusive that you didn’t show up for a single reunion… But at least now we know why.”
“Nice to see you too, Seline,” Y/n tells her, calm and centered.
“Shit, Stark!” Mickey Milkovitch balks. “You look the fucking same!”
And fine, she can take it from Milkovich. The guy was always crass but never rude. He just lacked a fucking filter.
So the smile that she smiles is open and kind. “Thanks, Mick. I could say the same about you.” She’s not lying. The guy looks pretty good for his age… and for the copious amount of alcohol she remembers him consuming during every party and every lecture.
“Not as good as you, holy shit! You really don’t age, do you?” He asks and it’s genuine so again, he gets a pass.
Nodding, “Not enough. My telomeres don’t work right, I think. Rest of me is human… mostly.”
And Mickey seems to take a lot of pleasure in her answer—smiling, he holds up his glass to cheers. She meets him with her own glass.
“Can’t lie, it’s a surprise to see you here,” another woman speaks up. “We thought we’d seen the last of you at the graduation.”
“Sorry to disappoint you, Candace. I saw the invite and I just couldn’t help myself,” Y/n bites back.
“Didn’t have time for us before?” Candace Huston asks.
“Ah.” Y/n never really liked these snobby prep school kids. Even after all these years, they’ve somehow managed to not change at all. She doesn’t know why she expected them to. “I was a little caught up.”
“Saving the world?” Archer Bass suggests, mocking.
“Yes,” Bucky cuts in before she can form some modest version of that answer. She can always count on him to stump the opposition while she reloads. “That’s the day job. Doesn’t pay as well as whatever it is you guys have been doing. And oh! Odd hours, really odd. But it’s good work, wouldn’t you say, sweetheart?”
She smiles, finding comfort in the warmth of his gaze. “Could’ve been worse. Could’ve been a Personal Injury Lawyer.” Bucky smiles at that and fuck if that doesn’t just rile her up. “Oh! I almost forgot, this is my boyfriend—”
She’s cut off by Charles ‘Chickenshit’ Walton, “The Winter Soldier. We know who he is.”
“At least he’s a looker,” Seline snickers. “I’ll give you that.”
“The two of you make a great couple—The Winter Soldier and Static, ex assassin and ex assassin,” Candace adds with a snide smile. There’s more catty bullshit like that from the rest of the crowd but she kinda zones out.
And fuck it all to hell.
Her entire college life was avoiding these fools.
All her life she’d watched shows about the shitshow that is high school. She hadn’t attended it, of course but Harvard was supposed to be her first try. It was supposed to be her playing her hand at being utterly and completely normal, one with the crowd. College wasn’t supposed to be as brutal as highschool but not as uncaring as a desk job. It was supposed to be an easy middle between the two. Part of her was excited even. But the reality wasn’t all that movies made it out to be.
They were snobs, the fucking lot of them. Always looking at every tiny little detail, studying it a microscope, planning and scheming to find a chink in her armour just to break her down. She didn’t understand why then. Why they didn’t like her, why she was the outsider. Because despite everything she wasn’t exactly that different from them, not to their knowledge at least. Howie was fucking loaded, ipso facto she was too. None of them knew her past but everytime they looked at her their eyes were always hungry, always searching for some weakness.
She gets it now.
It wasn’t hunger. It wasn’t some twisted version of distrust.
It was straight up jealousy.
They were jealous of her.
They were jealous of her back then and if possible they are even more jealous of her now.
Y/n just laughs. She can’t help it, okay? It’s hilarious.
She really, genuinely believed at one point in her life that these fucking dipshits would figure out her secret, when all they were looking for was a way to top the class. These are some of the smartest individuals she’s come across—graduates of Harvard Law. Fuck! They were just kids fighting for brownie points when she was fighting for her freedom. God fucking damn it, she’s been so damn dumb.
So she laughs.
Bucky looks at her for a second, raises his brow in concern. She waves her hand at him, letting him know she’s fine. It’s just funny.
“Something funny, Stark?” Archer asks, wearing a smile on his face that contradicts his tone which is just a little too shrill to be considered calm.
She shakes her head but continues chuckling.
“Don’t wanna share it with the rest of the class?” Charles bites. “Guess some things just don’t change.”
Y/n laughs a little harder. “My god, Charlie. You sure I’m the only one not aging here? Cause you sound like a sullen teenager.” She waves off his response before he can even form one. “Anyway, as I was saying, this is my boyfriend, Sergeant James Buchanon Barnes.” She drops a kiss on his cheek. “You can call him Sergeant Barnes… Well, except Milkovich. He’s just Barnes to you, Mick.”
Mickey seems pleased with her words, “Nice to meet you, Barnes.” He extends his hand to Bucky who takes it without hesitation. “Always thought your arm was really cool.”
That one throws Bucky a little. He looks back at her, eyes big and a sneaky curve of his lip. It screams, ‘Where the fuck did you find this guy?’ But like she said, no filter on that one.
“Why does Milkovitch get special treatment?” Seline rebukes her.
Y/n just shrugs. “Cause he wasn’t a dick to me in college?” Isn’t it obvious?
“Excuse me?” Candace exclaims like the hit was personal. “We were never anything but generous, which was more than what you deserved considering the shit you pulled.”
“One, that is wildly inaccurate. You were all dicks, all of you. But I don’t think I blame you for it, pompous kids do what pompous kids see. And two, what shit did I pull?” She waves at the bartender asking for a refill.
“You are seriously going to pretend you don’t know?” Archer throws back.
Taking the last sip from her drink she sets the now empty glass down on the nearest table. “Yes, enlighten me.”
“You were sleeping with Professor Keating to get the answers to all the tests,” Charles answers, disdain clear on his face.
“I—” She looks from his face to Bucky's, who feigns shock before breaking into a smile.
Charles cuts her off. “You hid it well enough but everyone knew you spent most of the free time between classes in his office. You scored well in every single one of his tests, which were impossible to crack and he was always so very eager to call on you in class.” He scoffs. “We were never able to find any concrete evidence to pin you down, we’ll give you that. But that doesn’t mean we were naive enough not to see it.”
“I—” She begins laughing again. “Professor Keating.” Fuck.
“What’s so fucking funny, Stark?” Archer pushes her. Well, he tries but before he can grab the collar he was reaching for, Bucky’s metal arm is already pulling him off.
“Easy there, cowboy,” Bucky warns.
“Get your hands off me!” Archer tries to brush Bucky off, pushing him back, trying desperately to get out of his grip, but come on. It’s Bucky. “What do you think you’re doing?!”
“Saving you the ass beating of a lifetime, buddy boy. Be glad it’s me and not her,” Bucky comments causally as he twists Archer’s arm behind his back.
“It’s fine, Sunshine. Let him go,” she coos at him sweetly.
And because he’s Bucky, he urges Archer to take a few steps away from her and then simply lets him go.
“Are you still mentally unstable?! How dare you touch me? I’m gonna sue your Nazi ass for that!” Archer warns.
“I mean, you can try. But he’s got a great lawyer,” Y/n tells him, grabbing her new drink from the waiter. She takes a sip. “Got him pardoned for countless assassinations. You think assault is where I lose that battle?” The blood drains from Archer’s face, all the color is gone. “And as for the Professor Keating matter,” she giggles again, before forcing herself to compose. “He was ex-KGB. I used to hang out with him after class to find out if he knew the updated location of HYDRA bases.”
“Ex-KGB?” Seline asks, just as pale as Archer.
“You expect us to buy that bullshit story? His name was Arthur Keating for Christ’s Sake!” Candace shouts.
“Which he changed when he asked for political asylum here. His real name was Boris Levitsky. His family was murdered by HYDRA when he couldn’t free some official high in their ranks. After that he was fairly willing to spill all about them,” Y/n explains.
“To a college student?” Charles question, clearly not buying it.
“To an undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. operative,” she corrects.
“You were an undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. operative back then?” Bucky asks her, reclaiming his position next to her with a steady arm around her waist.
“No,” she tells him. “But he didn’t know that.”
Bucky’s face breaks into a proud smile. The sprinkles of yellow around the venue seem to be attracted to her sun. They fall softly on his face, lighting up the curve of his cheekbones, the smile lines around his lips. He seems so much more comfortable in his skin than he used to before. And he shines brighter, if that was even possible. She thinks maybe she’ll have to carry sunglasses around from now on.
“How the fuck did you score so well then?” Seline question, furious at the revelation.
“Did you guys ever think maybe she’s just that fucking smart?” Bucky throws out, kissing her forehead. “My sweetheart’s a fucking genius!” He leans in closer. “A lesser man would be very intimidated by that, you know?”
He’s so close, she can taste his scent on the tip of her tongue. The smell of summer in the woods, and remnants of leather. It drives her insane.
“A lesser man, huh?” She teases. “You’re not intimidated by it then?”
“Oh I am,” he tells her. “Just not very intimidated.”
God, he’s so fucking beautiful.
“Hey! Lovebirds! We’re not done here,” Charles jumps in.
Rolling her eyes and reluctantly turning back to face the asshat, she asks, “What do you want?”
“Winter Soldier here might think you’re all that, but I know better.” He looks like he’s about to spontaneously combust into flames purely out of anger. “You’re not that smart. Unlike you, some of us worked hard to get where we are. We didn’t rely on fake daddy’s money to make something of ourselves.”
Now that’s just stupid. “Charlie… Come on, man. Howard Stark was not my father, he was my best friend, I just needed a cover. And his money got me nowhere. And, and! The fucker went and got killed before I even graduated.” Bucky’s head falls at the mention, but her time at college was too closely knit to his passing for her to not mention it. “But even after all that if you think I got in because he bribed the board—I didn’t fucking graduate Summa Cum Laude by kicking my feet and batting my eyelashes. I barely came to college to even do that with perfect follow through. That was my dropping-acid-and-doing-fireball-shots phase. I’m surprised to be alive, honestly.” She takes a step towards him. “Maybe in retrospect it seems like everything was handed to me on a silver platter now that my life seems so glorious on the outside, but that wasn’t the case, dude. Part of me wanted to be a lawyer so I could fight for my freedom if the time ever came.”
“Freedom from what, Stark?!” He yells out. “Your life is fucking perfect! You’re an Avengers, governments step aside to make way for you. You’ve got a super hot boyfriend who can clearly throw a punch, what more could you possibly want?”
Tony.
I want my brother back.
The answer is right there, on the tip of her tongue. But they don’t need to know it. They don’t really deserve it. Not their fault—most people don’t.
So, instead she steps back, clasps her hands into Bucky’s. “Nothing, actually. You’re right. I couldn’t ask for more.” Someone in the back catches her eye then. “Lighten up, Charlie.” She looks around at the rest of them. “You’re supposed to be the brightest minds of the nation, not petty fucking 6th graders. Lighten the fuck up, kids. I assure you there are worse things to be than fucking Harvard graduates.” She pulls Bucky by the hand and this hunk of a man follows along without an ounce of hesitation, as always. She yells out without turning “I’d say it was nice to see you guys, but it really fucking wasn’t.” But then her steps halt. She turns, “All except you, Milkovitch. It really was nice to see you again. Call me sometime, we should catch up.”
“I don’t have your number,” Mickey replies innocently.
She smiles. “Fine then, I’ll call you.”
“You don’t have my number.”
Her smile just turns mischievous.
Mickey picks up instantly. “Of course,” he says, a little embarrassed. “World class spy—I forgot.”
Hugging the man quickly, she turns and grabs Bucky by the hand again and begins walking off.
“This was amazing! Let’s do this again next year,” Bucky yells out, waving at the gaping faces they’ve left behind.
“Shut up, James.” She hushes him without heat.
“Where you taking me, sweetheart?” He asks, but there is no real curiosity in his question.
So she says as much. “You don’t really seem that curious about it.”
“I’m asking for the fuck of it—to hear you talk. I love hearing you talk.”
“Sap.” She’s smiling.
“I’ll follow you anywhere, don’t care where you take me,” he promises.
They’ve stopped walking, her target is in her eyesight so she’s all too worried. So she takes the moment to drink him in.
“FUCKING SAP,” she chides, pushing him a little.
Bucky (pretends to) stumble. “Only for you. Always for you,” he tells her, honest and true. He covers the distance between them with a few short steps. His hand comes to caress her jaw, gently—always so gently. He leans in. His lips brush against her as he speaks, “Till the end of my days, sweetheart.”
“Till the end of mine,” she corrects him and then closes the gap.
The best thing about kissing Bucky is that it always feels like the first time. No matter however many times she kisses this boy, every time it feels overwhelmingly new. It feels like her mind is melting, like she’s turning to mush under his hands—one flesh, the other metal. He always knows how to give her exactly what he craves, maybe because she mostly just craves him.
With one hand on her cheek, the other on the small of her back, Bucky pulls her in closer. His tongue tastes of whiskey, but his lips are all him. They are delectable enough to eat. It takes everything in her not to bite down too hard. But she can’t resist the urge to pull his lip between her teeth, biting just hard enough to leave them red. He kindly obliges by slipping his tongue into the mix. He’s so hungry for her, he’s always so fucking hungry for her.
Absent-mindedly she thinks maybe he feels it too. The inexplicable newness in the repeated action of kissing each other. Because hunger like that—hunger like his, seems insatiable. She would give away all of herself to it. Let him consume her whole. She will do just that… Just not here, not now.
Reluctantly, with great strength and determination, she pulls herself away.
Bucky, this fucker, whimpers. “What?” He whines.
She can’t help but chuckle. “I need to one thing then we can just get the fuck out of here and do more of that—a lot more of that.”
He pretends to think for a second but she already knows she’s won him over. “Fine,” he says after a beat. “What do you need?”
“An answer,” she tells him, before fixing herself a bit and walking over to the woman who’d caught her eye before.
She’s a tall woman, short black hair—a pixie cut that she pulls off flawlessly. She’s standing alone, smoking in the open area of the venue, looking out at the scene ahead of them.
Y/n approaches her cautiously. “Jeri Hogarth,” she calls out, making the woman turn. “You’re a hard woman to reach.”
“Y/f/n Stark.” Jeri doesn’t even turn to look at her. She keeps on staring straight ahead, smoking. “Did you ever consider, maybe I didn’t want to be reached?”
Y/n lets go of Bucky’s hand, but not before giving it a gentle press as a promise to come back soon. She walks up next to Jeri. “I did consider that possibility, but couldn’t bring myself to care about it, unfortunately.”

And then, finally Jeri turns to look at her, “What do you need for me? I mean it must be something big if you decided to show up here.”
Y/n shrugs. “It’s not big, I wouldn't say. I think it’s more that it’s… urgent?” That seems to intrigue Jeri, she cocks her brow in question. And Y/n answers, “I need to speak with Danny Rand.”
That seems to throw Jeri off. “I—I don’t know where he is. Besides, if you want his business—”
“It’s not about Rand Enterprises, Hogarth.” She clicks her tongue in disappointment. Nothing that fucking arbitrary would bring her here. “I want to talk to Danny’s friend. I want to talk to the Iron Fist.”
“I don’t—” Jeri looks like she’s at a loss for words which, yeah, a fairly new look on her. Y/n had very rarely seen Jeryn Hogarth lose her calm in class. They shared a lot of them, and while she wasn’t exactly kind to Y/n, she wasn’t unkind either.
“I know that you know, Jeri. I also know about Jessica Jones and… Kilgrave.” Y/n doesn’t want to be unkind to her either. “I am sorry about what happened…” Jeri just looks away. “I wouldn’t ask you if it was important, and I wouldn't be looking for Danny if it wasn’t urgent. But I need to talk to him.”
“And you think I can help?” Jeri challenges, finally finding her ground.
But Y/n isn’t here for a fight. “I wouldn’t be asking if I didn’t know you could.”
“Why should I?”
“I don’t have a very good reason for that. I don’t think I have anything of value to you that I could even barter with? But I’ll owe you one,” Y/n offers.
“You’ll owe me one?” She asks, unconvinced.
Y/n shrugs. “Yes.”
“And that’s supposed to be good enough?”
For the second time tonight, Y/n just wears a mischievous smile with furrowed brows.
Jeri seems to understand her without any words being spoken. “Yeah. That’s good enough.” She nods. “Okay, I can try to get a message to him, but there is no guarantee that he’ll respond.”
“He’ll respond,” Y/n answers easily.
Jeri eyes her suspiciously. “So, what’s the message?”
“Just tell him we need to talk,” Y/n answers.
“That’s all?”
“What else am I supposed to fucking say? The peacock rests peacefully in the moonlight?! This isn’t Mission Impossible. I’m not Tom Cruise. I just wanna talk to the dude,” Y/n rebukes.
“Fine,” Jeri tries to calm her down half-heartedly, turning back to the view ahead of her.
“Thanks, Hogarth,” Y/n says one last time before heading out.
Jeri takes out a fresh cigarette and lights it. “Just remember you owe me one.”
With that out of the way, Bucky and Y/n leave the reunion of the class of '92, hand in hand. It’s much later when they’re out for ice cream does Bucky ask the question she had been anticipating the entire night.
“Something was off tonight—before the whole sleeping with the teacher thing.”
She chuckles at his words. “Was there?” She asks.
“Yeah,” he doesn’t let her dodge it. “You wanna talk about it?” He does give her the option to opt out. He’s so considerate, how can she deny him anything?

They are sitting on the curb outside the 24 hour ice cream shop. They are bathed in the harsh light from the streetlight. Bucky, she thinks, somehow manages to still look pretty in that. He has a chocolate ice-cream cone in his hand that’s melting away at a matching speed to the vanilla cone in hers. They’d spent a little too long lost in each other’s mouths to focus on the ice-cream in a timely fashion. Both of them are now trying to furiously make up for that.
It takes her a moment to find the words. “I… It’s hard looking around at the room and seeing so many people who are… who are…”
“Old?” Bucky supplies again.
She shakes her head, laughing and trying to lick the ice cream off the cone—save it from falling. “No, Jamie. Not that.”
“Then?” He prompts, leaning to lick the leftover ice cream off her fingers.
Taking in a long breath, she musters up her courage and begins. “Tony’s the same age as Milkovitch. Or well, Tony would have been.” Bucky’s eyes turn softer in an instant. “It’s weird to see it—people who used to be young, who used to look like me, a crowd that I could have blended into seamlessly become old and gray. I mean, I lived it with Tony but I was there to see it day in and day out. He aged in front of my eyes, so it felt—it felt…”
“Natural?” Bucky offers.
And yeah. Yeah, it did. So, she nods. “Natural,” she agrees. “I remember when I noticed his first gray hair,” she laughs. “I freaked the fuck out but I didn’t want to tell him, cause that seemed fucking shallow, you know? I tried to hide it but man, I don’t think I was doing a good job ‘cause two days later the poor kid had dyed it black—that one single strand.” Bucky laughs too. “I think he figured out why it was freaking me out and that was his way of—I don’t know—calm me down, maybe?” She clicks her tongue at the thought. “The wrinkles were an easy adjustment. It began with smile lines, crinkles around his eyes every time he’d laugh at a joke, so it was…”
“Comforting?” Bucky suggests, once again giving her the words she can’t seem to find.
She rests her head on his shoulder then, “Yes. It was okay after that—especially after Pepper. Watching him age began feeling like a privilege. It felt like he was growing old instead of, you know, dying?”
Bucky nods. “Are you worried about that now? With me?” She punches him in the side. “FUCK! What was that for?”
She pulls back to face him, “I am not thinking about that shit yet!”
“Oh I’m sorry!” Bucky yells out annoyed and animated. “I was just drawing the LOGICAL conclusion to the conversation, but of course, that was stupid.”
“You’re such a little shit, James,” she rebukes him, shoving him and getting back on her feet.
“I’m a shit?! What did I do?!” He gets up as well. “We keep making grand promises about how we’ll love each other to the end of your days because you’ll obviously live longer.”
“BUCKY, DON’T SAY THAT!” She begins walking towards their motorbike parked in the parking lot.
He follows behind, “It’s not breaking news, Y/n! It’s inevitable.”
“Bucky!”
“But I have a plan!”
That makes her halt. She turns to face him, he almost runs into her. “What’s the plan?”
He smiles all cheeky and insolent. “Freeze me for a decade once in a while.” She can’t believe her ears.”Put me in the fridge every ten years or so for a decade and then pull me out. I’m also open to being in the freezer for a year with a two year gap in the middle as well.” She wants to punch him again. “I haven’t done the math on which will make me live longer but both will definitely extend my lifespan significantly.” She is going to punch him again. “I age a little slower anyway, this was I think we could extend this relationship into the next millennium at leas—” She punches him again. “FUCK! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ONE FOR NOW?”
Turning around, she begins walking off again. “You’re not ice-cream, Jamie. I’m not fucking freezing you!” She cans the ice-cream in her hand, having lost her appetite.
He follows her again. “I have another plan!”
“Shut up, Barnes!”
“What if we ask Banner to make me body like you guys did for Vision?! Put my consciousness in there?” Bucky asks as they reach their motorbike.
She pulls out the keys, handing them off to Bucky. “What made him capable of emotions was the Mind Stone, you got any spare of those lying around?”
Bucky hops on the bike and then thinks for a second, “Steve told me you guys put Zola in a big computer kinda thing.” She gets on behind him. “What if we did that? I know our sex life might suffer but—”
She punches him right under his ribs..
“STOP FUCKING PUNCHING ME! These ideas are golden.”
She punches him again.

There was also Sam’s annoying banter which usually gave Bucky something to smirk about, but he would never admit that to anyone. When Bucky didn’t understand what a text message was, Wanda and Natasha helped him adapt to the technological wonders of this modern time.
“What? Bucky snapped.

Your eyes slowly fell shut and you felt completely content, knowing you were safe in the arms of the man who loved you, and who you loved right back.

it’s been my lifelong dream to live in a lighthouse.
i once read a one direction fic when i was thirteen or something where the reader lived in a lighthouse and i’ve been obsessed with the idea since.
tried to find a bucky barnes x reader or a steve harrington x reader that involved a lighthouse at all, but sadly… nothing.
imagine a fluffy mutual pining, strangers to friends to lovers with a shy!luna lovegood!reader where she takes care of a lighthouse and lives there with a big dog?
imagine if she has some sort of power, like she can talk to animals or control elements? so there’s always many animals running/flying around the lighthouse.
she’s lonely but sunshine-y, easily excited by things, soft and gentle and kind, entirely inexperienced and very oblivious of bucky/stevie’s feelings for her.
she’s handy with knives, knows self defense, (((in my madd au the lighthouse is by the winchester’s bunker from spn so she’s a hunter too.))) maybe the men of letters used the lighthouse for something in the forties?
just a sweet, giggly, shy girl who dresses a bit funny sometimes, lots of oversized clothing, loves animals and flowers, is a ray of sunshine despite the hardships of being a hunter, and somehow gets entangled either with steve and the upside down, or bucky and the avengers.
*sighs dreamily*
i’ve added an attached lighthouse to my main maladaptive daydreamer alternate universe that i switch between steve harrington and bucky barnes as love interests, but is always an spn au.

i know i wont write it ‘cause i have neither time nor patience, much less talent, but…
thoughts?

Ooo hii can I please request a Bucky x fem!reader where Y/n has had necromancy powers ever since she was a little girl (definitely made growing up hard because it’s hard to tell the difference when she’s talking to a ghost and when she’s talking to a living person , and the adults in her life never believed her). Now, as an adult, she lives with the Avengers at their HQ (not officially an Avenger, though Steve has been trying to convince her to become one for years). She had met Steve not that long after Loki’s attack on NY, he found a very overwhelmed Y/n talking to herself in an alley (a lot of people died after the attack so she would’ve had a lot of ghosts trying to talk to her), her eyes glow when she’s using her powers so Steve put two and two together that she’s probably a mutant. He convinced her to live with the Avengers and said he believes her when she tells him what she can do. Anyways, one day she somehow runs into The Winter Soldier (before CA: Winter Soldier), and Bucky has briefly woken up from being brainwashed and ran away from Hydra, and the two of them fall in love, only for Hydra to find him and force him back and Y/n ends up finding out she’s pregnant after he’s gone🥺. She refuses to tell her friends (The Avengers) who the father is and what happened to him but they promise they’ll be there for her🥺 She has a daughter and the Avengers help her raise her (Steve can’t help but think that this little girl is the spitting image of Bucky, but he knows it can’t be true because he “died” in 1945). Fast forward to after Steve finds out his best friend is alive, and he tracks him down to Romania, Steve brings Bucky back to the Avengers Compound (The Avengers never broke up) and the first person he sees is Y/n, with a 4 year old little girl who looks just like him🥺 (they’d both start crying and be so shook and run into each others arms🥺)
They’d have a lot of explaining to do to the other Avengers lol
Spitting Image Of Him » Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Enhanced!Female Reader with Steve Rogers/Captain America, the Avengers, and daughter Lucy
Summary: Bucky somehow manages to briefly escape HYDRA and meets you, which results in you and him falling in love and you having his daughter and Steve can’t help but notice how much your daughter looks like Bucky and you eventually explain everything to the Avengers.
Warnings: Fluff, language, pregnant!reader, mom!reader, dad!Bucky, HYDRA, crying, kissing, pet names
A/N: Thank you for the beautifully descriptive request @kpopgirlbtssvt 🩵
A/N #2: Bold text is note from HYDRA.

Not long after Loki’s attack on New York, you could still hear the voices of the people who didn’t make it. You’ve had necromancy powers since you were a kid. Meaning, you can hear the voices of the ghosts of dead people and sometimes it’s hard for you to know if you’re talking to an alive person or not.
Today was one of those days of you. You could hear the voices of the people who didn’t make it from Loki’s attack. You made a beeline to an alleyway. You sat down on the concrete, leaning your back against the brick wall. You covered your ears to try to tune out the voices of those people, which works sometimes.
“Not real.” You kept repeating to yourself.
Steve’s enhanced hearing picked up the sound of a voice as he was walking down the street. He heard it coming from the alleyway he was about to walk past. He followed the sound of the voice, leading him to you. Steve saw you sitting on the ground with your ears covered.
“Ma’am, are you ok?” Steve asks softly.
You yelped when you heard a new voice. You uncovered your ears and looked up at the man. Your mind was all over the place that you couldn’t tell if he was a ghost or not.
“Are you a ghost?” You asked in a shaky voice.
“No.” He answers.
You continued to stare at him, trying to figure out if he’s alive or a ghost. Steve crouched down in front of you. You pressed yourself more against the brick wall.
“Can I see your hand?” He asks.
You silently stared at him for a few seconds before extending your hand to him. Steve gently put your hand on his chest where his heart is. You relaxed when you felt his heartbeat.
“I’m not a ghost.” He assures. “What’s your name?” He asks.
“Y/N.” You answered quietly.
“I’m Steve.” He introduces himself.
Steve watched your eyes glow. That was enough to tell him that you have powers of some kind.
“Come with me.” Steve says, standing up and holding his hand out to you.
“Where?” You asked, looking up at him.
“I’m going to help you out and give you a place to stay.” He says.
You slowly put your hand in his and stood up. Steve took you to the Avengers compound. You’ve seen the building from the outside, but you’ve never been inside before.
“What is this place?” You asked, looking around.
“Avengers compound.” Steve answers.
Steve lead you to the lounge room where the Avengers are.
“Guys, this is Y/N. She’s going to be staying with us.” Steve says to the Avengers.
The Avengers introduced themselves to you. You gave them a smile and shyly waved at them.
“I’ll show you to your room.” Steve says.
You nodded and followed him to the floor where the bedrooms are. Steve opened the door to an empty bedroom, allowing you to walk in the room first. The bedroom was already full with a bed, nightstand, dresser, and a TV. There was also a closet and a bathroom in there.
“My room is right next door if you ever need anything.” Steve says, pointing to the right.
You smiled and nodded.
“I’ll let you rest now. Let me know if you need anything.” He says.
You nodded and he left the room.
It didn’t take you long to adjust to living in the Avengers compound. It took a few weeks for you to adjust to your new living arrangements.
“Hey, Y/N.” Steve smiles as he walks in your room. “Have you thought any more about becoming an Avenger?” He asks as he sat down on your bed.
“No. The thought of it is cool, but I need more time to think about it.” You say.
“That’s ok. Take all the time you need.” He says softly, putting a comforting hand on your knee.
You smiled at him.
Later that same day, you were walking down the street. You weren’t sure where you were going. You just wanted to clear your mind. You were looking down at the ground as you were walking and you accidentally bumped into someone. You lost your balance and fell to the ground, making an “Oof” noise.
“Sorry.” The man says.
He holds out his hand for you. You looked up at him and put your hand in his. You gave him a smile as he helped you up.
“Thank you, sir.” You smiled.
“You’re welcome.” He smiles back. “I’m James, but everyone I know calls me Bucky.” He introduces himself.
“I’m Y/N.” You introduced yourself.
You couldn’t help but notice how handsome Bucky is. Bucky admired your beauty as well.
“You’re handsome.” You blurted out.
“Thank you, doll. You’re gorgeous as well.” Bucky says with a smile.
You blushed when he called you gorgeous. Goosebumps appeared on your skin when Bucky’s right hand cupped your cheek, his thumb rubbing against your skin.
“I have a strong feeling that we’re going to get along well.” He says softly.
“Me too.” You say, smiling up at him.
Over the next few days, you managed to sneak out of the compound without any of the Avengers noticing. You went to the small apartment Bucky is currently hiding out at. You and Bucky have your own knock when you two knock on the door so you two know it’s each other and not anyone else.
“Come in, doll.” Bucky whispers, taking a quick peak left and right to make sure you weren’t followed.
You quickly went inside his apartment. Bucky closed the door and locked it. He then greeted you with a sweet kiss. He put on his hands on your waist and pulled you against him. You smiled against his lips and put your hands on his chest.
“I was wondering when you were going to come by.” He says softly.
“I have to be sneaky around the people I live with when I leave.” You say with a small giggle.
You told Bucky that you live with a few people, but you didn’t tell him that they’re the Avengers. You don’t want him to think you and them are after him, in which you’re not. You and Bucky are still getting to know each other and have a good thing going.
“You know how much I love you?” He asks softly.
“The kisses you give me tell me how much you love me.” You smiled.
“I’ll give you more kisses to show you how much I love you.” He murmurs, kissing you sweetly and passionately.
You ended up losing track of time and spent the night with Bucky that night. As you were sleeping peacefully in Bucky’s arms, he heard all too familiar footsteps outside the door. His heart started pounding. He was expecting HYDRA or whoever was outside the door to break down the door, but it was just the opposite. He seen a folded piece of paper slide under the door and inside the apartment. Bucky carefully and quietly got out of bed so he didn’t wake you up. He picked up the paper and unfolded it, reading what it says. He used the street lights shining into the apartment as light to read.
Soldat, we know you escaped. We also know you got yourself a girlfriend. If you want her to stay unharmed, you return to us. If you don’t, you’ll see her all bruised and bloody. We will use force to make you return to us if we have to.
Bucky’s jaw clenched at the part of the note where they threatened to beat you bloody and bruised. He crumpled up the piece of paper and threw it somewhere in the apartment and ran his fingers through his long hair. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“Bucky?” You mumbled.
“Sorry, doll. I didn’t mean to wake you.” Bucky apologizes softly.
“It’s ok.” You rubbed your eyes and sat up, turning on the bedside lamp. “What are you doing up?” You asked.
Bucky walked over to the bed and sat down in front of you, putting his hands in yours.
“Remember when I told you about HYDRA?” He asks.
You nodded, waiting for him to continue.
“Well…” He starts in a shaky voice. “They found out I escaped and they threatened to hurt you if I don’t go back to them.” He explains.
“No.” You said, your heart dropping to the pit of your stomach. “Please don’t go back.” You pleaded, your voice cracking.
“I don’t want to go back, but I want you to be safe.” He says.
Bucky watched a tear roll down your cheek.
“It’s going to be ok, doll.” He whispers, pulling you in for a hug.
He let you cry it out for a few minutes before kissing you passionately. He wiped your tears away with his thumbs and looked deep in your eyes.
“I want you to know that I love you more than anything, babydoll.” He whispers.
“I love you too, Bucky.” You whispered back.
Bucky went back to HYDRA immediately. He didn’t want them to lay a finger on you so he did what they told him to do.
A few days later, you were staring at a positive pregnancy test. You were in shock that you didn’t know what to do at first. You didn’t even hear the bathroom door open.
“Y/N, are you ok?” Natasha asks softly.
You yelped and jumped when you heard her voice, dropping the pregnancy test on the bathroom floor. Natasha picked it up for you, her eyes widening when she seen that it’s positive.
“You’re pregnant?” She asks.
You nodded your head yes, nervously fiddling with your fingers. You were caught off guard when she hugged you. You hugged her back.
“Congratulations!” She smiles.
“Thank you, Nat.” You say quietly.
“Do you know who the father is?” She asks curiously.
“No.” You lied.
You then went to the conference room where Steve and the rest of the Avengers are. Natasha followed you behind you.
“Y/N has something to tell everyone.” Natasha says, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder.
The Avengers stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to you. You felt nervous as hell under their stares.
“I’m pregnant.” You announced to everyone.
Everyone jumped up from their seats to hug you and congratulate you. You smiled at them and thanked them.
“Do you know who the father is?” Steve asks.
“No.” You lied again.
You feel bad about lying to the Avengers about not knowing who the father is, but you don’t want them to know that it’s Bucky. Especially Steve. How do you tell your friend that you’re pregnant with his best friend’s baby? For now, you’re just going to keep it to yourself.
The Avengers were very helpful throughout your pregnancy. They got you what you need for the baby. They also set everything up in the nursery, putting girl stuff in there. When it was time for the baby to be born, Steve was right by your side during the whole thing. You had a baby girl and named her Lucy. Steve held her as you took a nap.
“You’re adorable.” Steve coos at Lucy, smiling down at her.
Steve hums to himself when he notices something interesting about Lucy.
“You know, you look like someone I knew years ago.” He says to her.
The more he looked at Lucy, the more he notices a resemblance of Bucky. His eyes widened.
No… could he be- no. Bucky fell off the train in 1945. He witnessed it.
4 YEARS LATER
The more Lucy grew and got older, she resembles Bucky even more. She just turned 4 and looks like a spitting image of him. Steve noticed it and it blew his mind how this little girl looks like his best friend. Lucy’s hair and eyes are the same colors as Bucky’s, along with her facial features.
“Are you sure you don’t know who the father is?” Steve asks you once more.
“I don’t know who he is.” You lied once again.
Steve didn’t want to keep badgering you on it so he dropped it. He still thought about his suspensions though.
If Bucky is alive, why didn’t he come find Steve? How did he even survive the fall off the train? No one can survive that.
“Uncle Steve!” Lucy shouts, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Steve smiles when he sees his niece running toward him. He picked her up and hugged her.
“I want to go to the park please.” She says, giving him her best puppy dog eyes.
“It’s too cold to go to the park, princess.” Steve says softly, referring to the snow outside.
Lucy huffed and crossed her arms over her chest with a pout on her face. Steve couldn’t help but smile at how cute she’s being.
“Why don’t you go color?” He suggests. “I have to talk to uncle Sam and aunt Natasha.” He says, gently putting her back down on the floor.
Lucy nods and runs to the lounge room where she left her coloring books and coloring supplies. Steve went to find Steve and Natasha, finding them in the conference room talking.
“Hey guys, I need your help with something.” Steve says.
“With what?” Sam asks.
“Tracking down someone.” He says.
“Who do you need to track down?” Natasha asks.
“My friend Bucky.” He says.
“I thought you said he fell off a train in 1945?” Sam says.
“I did, but now I’m thinking he somehow survived it.” He says.
“What makes you think that?” Natasha asks.
“Y/N’s daughter looks a lot like Bucky.” He says.
Sam and Natasha stared at Steve like he’s crazy.
“I know it sounds crazy, but I’m thinking that Bucky is Lucy’s father.” Steve says.
Sam’s and Natasha’s eyebrows shot up at his theory.
“Are you guys going to help me or not?” He asks.
Sam and Natasha agreed to help Steve. After a lot of research, Steve finally found the answers he was looking for. Bucky is alive and is hiding out in an apartment in Bucharest, Romania. Steve’s mind is blown. All this time, he thought his best friend was dead when he’s actually alive.
“Hey guys. Have you seen Lucy? It’s her lunchtime.” You say, poking your head in the conference room.
“She’s coloring in the lounge room.” Steve tells you.
After a couple days, Steve came up with a plan to get Bucky from Romania and bring him home. He told the Avengers to keep an eye on you so you didn’t suspect a thing. Steve was about to get on the quinjet, but Lucy stopped him before he could.
“Uncle Steve, where are you going?” Lucy asks before Steve got on the quinjet.
“I have something important to do.” Steve tells her.
“Is it a mission?” She asks curiously.
“Kinda.” He says.
“Can I come with you please?” She asks.
“I wish you could, but you can’t, sweetheart.” He says.
Lucy huffed loudly and crossed her arms over her chest with a pout on her face, sitting down on the floor. Steve crouched down in front of her.
“If it makes you feel better, I have a big girl mission for you.” Steve says.
“Big girl mission?” Lucy asks.
Steve smiles and nods.
“Your mission is to protect mommy till I get back.” He tells her.
“I can do that!” She says loudly.
Steve smiles and kissed the top of her head.
“I’ll be home before you know it, peanut.” He says, playfully ruffling her hair.
Lucy gave him a hug for good luck before running to find you. Steve smiles as he watched her to find you before getting on the quinjet.
“Mommy!” Lucy shouts throughout the compound.
“Yes, sweetie?” You say, walking out of the kitchen.
“I have a mission!” She announces, standing tall in front of you as if she were in the Army.
“Oh yea? What might that be?” You asked curiously.
“Uncle Steve gave me a big girl mission to protect while he’s gone.” She says.
“Ooh! I’m definitely going to be protected, princess.” You say.
“It’s Sergeant Princess!” She says.
“Oh, my apologies, Sarge.” You say, playfully saluting her.
Meanwhile, Steve found where Bucky is currently staying in Bucharest. The apartment Bucky has been staying is small, but it looks like he tried to make it as homey as he could. After a few minutes, Steve turned around to see Bucky standing a few feet behind him.
“Do you know who I am?” Steve asks.
Bucky stared at him silently for a few seconds before answering him.
“You’re Steve. I read about you in the museum.” Bucky finally answers.
Steve nods.
“I’m not here to fight you or anything. I’m here to bring you home where you belong.” Steve says.
“Where’s home?” Bucky asks.
“New York.” He says.
“Thanks for the offer, but I’m staying here.” He says.
Steve didn’t want to have to resort to you as an option, but it looks like he has no choice.
“Y/N Y/L/N.” Steve says.
“Y/N?” Bucky asks softly.
“Yes. Do you know her?” He asks curiously.
“Yes.” He said. “Is she ok?” He asks with worry in his voice.
“She’s more than ok, but she needs you more than you think.” He says softly.
“Take me to her.” He says.
Steve felt relieved that Bucky finally agreed to go home with him. Meanwhile, Lucy is being the mini Avenger Steve said she could be while he was gone. You, on the other hand, are curious to know why Steve went on a mission without any of the Avengers.
“Do you guys know why Steve went on a mission without any of you guys?” You asked the Avengers.
The didn’t say anything. They just shrugged their shoulders. You stared at them, narrowing your eyes a bit and crossed your arms over your chest, giving them the mom stare. They know that look all too well from when you give that look to Lucy.
“No matter how long you look at us like that, we’re not telling you where Steve went.” Tony says.
You sighed and went to see what your daughter is up to. You found Lucy in her bedroom playing with her stuffed animals and drawing on blank pieces of different colored construction paper.
“Hi, mommy!” Lucy smiles up at you. “Do you want to color with me?” She asks, holding up a piece of paper and a marker toward you.
“I would love to, sweetie.” You smiled.
You sat down on the floor across from her and started drawing doodles on the paper that Lucy handed you.
The next day, Steve brought Bucky to the compound. Bucky was nervous, but excited to see you.
“Sam, where’s Y/N?” Steve asks.
“She’s picking Lucy up from preschool. She should be back any minute.” Sam says.
“Who’s Lucy?” Bucky asks, looking from Sam to Steve.
Steve and Sam stayed quiet. Steve so desperately wanted to tell his best friend that Lucy is his daughter, but it’s not his place to tell him.
“Let’s just wait for Y/N.” Steve says.
You and Lucy walked in the lounge room a short moment later. You stopped in your tracks when you seen Bucky.
“Bucky?” You say, completely speechless.
“Hi, doll.” Bucky says softly and smiles.
You walked over to him and hugged him tightly. Bucky wrapped his arms around you, holding you close to him. Tears of happiness rolled down your cheeks, along with Bucky. Lucy was standing a couple feet away in a state of confusion.
“Mommy, who is he?” Lucy asks, pointing at Bucky.
You pulled away from Bucky and looked at your daughter. Bucky looked at her too, his eyes widening when he noticed that Lucy is a spitting image of him. Steve and Sam left the room, leaving the three of you alone so you can explain everything to Bucky and Lucy.
“I owe everyone an explanation and I might as well start with you two.” You say.
Bucky and Lucy sat down on the couch while you stood in front of nervously and fiddled with your fingers. You took a deep breath before saying anything.
“Bucky, I found out I was pregnant with your baby shortly after you went back to HYDRA. Lucy is your daughter. She’s 4 years old.” You explained.
Bucky’s eyes went wide when you said that. He’s in complete shock from what he just heard. Lucy looked up at him with a curious look on her face.
“You’re my daddy?” Lucy asks.
“I guess I am.” Bucky says.
Lucy crawled onto Bucky’s lap and hugged him. Bucky hugged her back. He felt a new warmth in his heart. You smiled at the two of them as they hugged.
“I’ll let you guys get to know each other while I explain everything to everyone else.” You say.
You left the room and went to the conference room where all of the Avengers are. All of them turned their attention to you when you walked in the room.
“I owe all of you an explanation.” You said nervously. “This may be a surprise to all of you, especially Steve.” You began. “First of all, let me start off by apologizing for lying to all of you. I do know who Lucy’s father is and her father is Bucky. Before I got pregnant with Lucy, him and I were in love.” You explained.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Natasha asks.
“I don’t know.” You mumbled and shrugged.
You looked down to avoid eye contact with any of them. Steve walked over to you and hugged you.
“It’s ok. We understand.” Steve whispers.
“You do? You’re not mad at me?” You asked.
“I’m not mad.” He says softly.
You smiled and hugged him.
“Thanks for understanding.” You murmured. “I’m going to check on Lucy and Bucky.” You say.
You went back to the lounge room to see Lucy and Bucky getting along perfectly.
“I see you two are getting along very well.” You say.
“Me and daddy have the same color eyes!” Lucy says.
“That’s right, sweetie. You do.” You smiled.
You sat down on the couch next to Bucky.
“I’m sorry for not telling you sooner.” You apologized to Bucky.
“You don’t have to apologize, doll. I’m just happy you’re giving me a chance to be a father to Lucy.” Bucky says.
You smiled and pecked his lips softly.
“I love you, Bucky.” You murmured softly.
“I love you too, babydoll.” He whispers.
“I love you guys too!” Lucy chimes in.
“We love you, princess.” You and Bucky say in unison and gave her lovings.

Mind Reader (Bingo Game)
!BINGO ASKS CLOSED!
BuckyBarnes x Enhanced!Female!Reader
word count: 2.1k
warnings: pining, fluff, Bucky being very sweet but also self-sabotaging, language
It started off like a whisper. You weren’t used to whispers. Normally, people talked to themselves in moderate volumes. Who would be afraid of their own thoughts after all? But Bucky was different. He was so different, in fact, that you had mistaken his thoughts for something entirely else.
You should go over to them, be part of the group. I can’t.
They were like conversations. But not like thoughts usually were. More like a constant...
No wonder nobody likes you. You’re a coward.
...fight.
Shut up.
You looked up at Bucky who was shaking his head with a frown over at the other end of the room. Wanda and Sam were standing by the window talking, laughing. Bucky was never part of it and it saddened you a little. Especially because he was actually very sweet. He just never showed it. But that’s why you liked to occasionally listen to his thoughts.
That was very well said, Steve. Good job.
It made you smile. And even though you had promised the team not to do it, sometimes, you couldn’t help yourself. He was just...
I like that braid Natasha did today, maybe she can braid my hair like that too.
...so...
This is the best food I’ve ever tasted. Wow, Sam.
..cute.
And that’s why you did it occasionally.
You got up from your seat at the kitchen island and walked over to the sink. Bucky stepped aside to give you space. He was still a little timid around everyone. You talked to him frequently though, trying to include him in activities and general conversation to make sure he didn’t feel left out. And he appreciated it.
“Thank you,” you whispered before passing him to leave the room.
Oh, wow. She smells very good. Don’t be a creep.
You bit back a smile before leaving, your heart skipping a small beat before settling in its pace again. Bucky was so endearing with his little compliments. But he would never dare say them out loud - not with that condescending voice he harbored as well.
You wanted to do something about it, but you also knew it would reveal your little secret of occasional drop-ins to his mind. And you were sure this was a boundary you couldn’t cross with Bucky yet. Steve? Sure, what was he going to do about it? Sam would probably close his ears to prevent you from listening to his thoughts - he didn’t think a lot of times... Nat would probably not mind at all, but Bucky? No, you didn’t know what it would do to him.
So you restrained. But it became harder and harder with time as Bucky’s thoughts turned in a direction neither of you had expected.
She looks so pretty today.
He was subtle at first, surprised by his own mind but somehow content. Over time, you looked at him afterward, he smiled, a small blush creeping over his cheeks to his ears. It was adorable.
He noticed things nobody else did. He had attention to detail, and he was so interested in the smallest of things you did.
Did she put on eyeshadow? Her eyes are shining. Not for you.
But it was always there, at the end of each compliment - ready to destroy the little warmth he spread in your heart - that voice. That annoying, down-talking, and toxic voice his mind hosted and that was nothing like the Bucky he revealed to the outside.
I wish I could hold her hand. She will run away from you.
Your heart clenched with every day his mind ruined the few soft moments Bucky allowed himself. You wanted to just grab him, squish him tight and tell that stupid voice to shut up. Because you did want to hold his hand during movie nights, or that day he noticed your new nail polish, or the time your fingers brushed against his when he handed you a mug. And it was killing you, tearing you apart from the constant tug of war his mind was playing.
You wanted to hear the compliments he thought of but at the same time, the flip side of his thoughts became more painful every time. Still, you challenged him, walked past him closer, looked at him longer, talked to him more - just to feel the goosebumps building when his kind words reached your mind. Unfortunately... just for them to be destroyed right after.
Her lips look so soft. I bet she’s a good kisser. Fucking creep.
So, you eventually got so used to listening, it became more and more difficult to distinguish thought from spoken words with time. You couldn’t stop, though, it was too thrilling - too nice to be appreciated.
You found yourself lingering in spaces Bucky was more often. Not necessarily talking, just being in the same place, stealing glances, listening to his mind - finding calm in the soothing tone of his silent monologues... however condescending they ended up being.
Right now, you were doing exactly that: Sitting in the common room, reading a magazine while Bucky sat across from you, mindlessly opening and closing his book, but you knew he wasn’t reading...
Imagine what it would be like to just be able to go over and sit next to her.
You smiled, biting your cheeks immediately.
Calling her my girl... Jesus, I don’t think I know how dating works anymore.
You stole a glance at him, but Bucky was looking down quickly, tracing the cover of his book with his index finger.
You will never find love again... that’s ok, it’s too overwhelming anyway.
This time, you had to will yourself to keep your eyes on the page. They hadn’t moved over a single word for the entire time. You shook your head, took a deep breath, and tried to actually read. Bucky’s mind was silent for some time, and as much as you liked hearing him, it was nice to not experience his sad thoughts.
After a while, you began to actually read. The article was actually somewhat entertaining, you should have done it sooner. Your eyes flew over the page, eating up the meaning behind the latest internet trend, your fingers flipping to the next page.
That outfit looks so good on her. That’s her color. I wish I had a color.
“It’s blue,” you laughed absentmindedly, your eyes nearing the end of the page.
“What?” Oh my god.
Oh shit. Your head shot up immediately, sight panic surging up your spine. “The answer for my crossword.” Close call.
You’d think that after this accident, you had gotten more careful, maybe stopped reading his mind so much. But something always drew you towards him. When Bucky was in the room, even Peter's weird and random rabbit hole thoughts seemed to move in the background.
You craved Bucky’s thoughts - they excited you, made you feel like no one else’s compliments ever did - so you didn't stop. But today, you actually wished you had...
Bucky’s mind was particularly gruesome today. He and Steve had just come back from a rather frustrating mission. Many pedestrians were injured, no targets contained - and it made the bad voice in his head take over.
You’re such a failure, Steve risked his life to save you and for what? For you to fuck it all up again.
The common room was empty when you heard it. You were the only one in the adjacent kitchen, Bucky’s thoughts preceding his entrance by a few seconds. When he entered, he stopped in his tracks, looked at you, and let a small “Hi.” Slip past his lips.
“Hey,” you responded sadly. There was no compliment today. His mind went back to his prior train of thought immediately.
“How are you?” You carefully asked to loosen the awkwardness, but Bucky just turned to the fridge with a gruff mumble.
“Fine.”
It would have probably been better for everyone if Hydra just had had its ways with me. Had me die of all the torture eventually. Then all of this would have never happened.
Tears sprung to your eyes at his thoughts. But it was even worse, you couldn’t help him - he had never really told you and it was eating you alive.
Everyone is just better off without me...
And then a slight sniffle escaped you, the tears running freely as you imagined Bucky not being part of your life. It was so sad that he couldn’t see how important he was to all of you. You especially. He had made your life at the compound so much brighter, was a thing you always looked forward to as a part of your day.
"Are you okay?” Bucky turned immediately, his eyes going wide when he saw your distraught face. You fucking idiot, of course she’s not okay. It’s probably your fault, too.
“Stop!”
“Stop what?” He moved closer. “Stop what?”
“The arguing, the- the constant downplay.” You wiped your tears but there was no use, fresh ones were already replacing them.
“Doll, I don’t know what you-”
You shook his frame, your hands wrapping around his biceps. “I need you! Nobody would be happier if you were dead!”
It was dead silent for a moment. You could watch as the confusion shook from Bucky’s face with every jolt you were giving him. But you didn’t care. It was enough - he was enough.
When your hands finally let go, Bucky cleared his throat, his eyes, however, never left yours.
"So you do read my thoughts.”
“I-“ but your mouth was faster than your mind. You didn't know what to tell him. You had promised the team to never do it. You knew it was a breach of privacy, a breaking of trust. Your head hung low as you avoided Bucky’s eyes. They weren’t furious, or confused - really, nothing you had imagined them to be if he ever found out. He was kind of... calm. As if something had been lifted off his shoulders - it must have been the closure you provided him with.
You dared to glance up again just to be met with that confusing look of his again, and the fact he wasn’t saying a thing made you panic. “I’m sorry, I was too curious. Because every time I...” You sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat. There was no use in defending your actions. “I’m sorry. I promised not to read your minds and I did it anyways. That’s not okay.”
But Bucky didn’t seem to listen to the words tumbling over your tongue in desperation. His brows were scrunched when his eyes flicked to the ceiling and then back to you. What the hell was this about?
“If you heard that... did you also hear my... you know...” Oh. Right. The compliments. How could you have forgotten? They were the very reason you were in this situation right now.
You breathed in deeply. “Yeah.” And it felt a lot better now that it had all been said.
“Oh.” Bucky’s cheeks tainted in pink when he turned in place awkwardly. But even though the kitchen was massive, there was no real hiding from you.
You watched as he shuffled in front of you, shifted his weight from one foot to the other, and looked anywhere but at you. And it reminded you of the Bucky only you got to experience in secret. The one whose thoughts never left that brain of his and it warmed you from the inside out again.
“Thank you,” you finally whispered, careful not to chase him away. Because it looked like he was about to bolt, though something was keeping him from doing so.
“For what?” Big blue orbs found yours again, intrigue and confusion weaving through his features - it was adorable.
You bit your lip. “All the compliments. You’re very charming, you know?” Part of you wondered if the old Bucky - 40s Bucky - was just like this. Innocently sweet, maybe with a hint of shameless flirting though. “You are such a great person, Bucky. If the others could hear how incredibly attentive you are. They would love to have you around more.”
Your hand reached out to touch his arm and the blush on his cheeks deepened.
“I’ll try,” he smiled, the tension from before seemingly forgotten in the vast kitchen.
You smiled as well, riding on a wave of confidence when you leaned forward to press a chaste kiss to his heated cheek.
Sweet Jesus, I think I’ll pass out.
You just chuckled and left. The other conversation hanging in the room had to wait for now. First, you wanted to see Bucky mingle with the crowd, get comfortable, then, you’d work on finally making him yours.

Series Masterlist
“Mama no mo seeping.” Charlotte whispered in her usual sing-songy way. “We gets mawwied today.”
You knew she was standing right in front of you on the edge of the bed. But you opened one eye and took a peek at her smiling face before groaning and turning around. Lottie giggles before climbing on the bed and over you. Her foot slips on the bedsheet and she falls with a soft ‘oof’.
“Mama no mo seeping.”
“Just five more minutes.” You mumble while covering her with the blanket and pulling her in. Lottie is all giggles as she wiggles her way out of your hold.
“Wake up mama.”
“Ok, ok. I’m up.” You sit up as Lottie straddles your thighs and leans into your chest for a hug. “Good morning my sweet Angel. Are you ready to be the cutest flower girl ever?”
“Mmhmm. Gonna do the bestest job.”
“That’s my girl. Let’s get ready for the morning.” You give Lottie a big hug and some kisses on her cheek before you head into the bathroom.
You can’t wipe the smile off your face. It’s your wedding day and you’re so excited. When you get downstairs Nat, Wanda and Sofia are dressed comfortably and ready to go. They all have matching shirts that say ‘I do crew’. Nat held up a white shirt for you that said ‘bride or die’ and you couldn’t help but laugh as you put it on.
“I’M GETTING MARRIED TODAY.” You screamed as you all jumped for joy.
“Ok, we have to go or we’ll be late.” Wanda starts pushing you towards the door. “Sam already told me the guys were getting ready to leave.”
“We have everything packed, all you have to do is get your butt in the car, Mrs. Barnes.”
Your smile gets bigger when Sofia calls you Mrs. Barnes. All this giddiness has you floating on air.
“One more thing.” Wanda stops you and hands you a pair of white heart shaped glasses that have been bejeweled. The top of the glasses say ‘wife of the party’. Lottie is wearing flower shaped glasses that say ‘flower girl’ and her name. Each of the bridesmaids have matching bejeweled glasses as well.
“Now we can go.”
The drive to the venue is fast, but that’s what happens with Nat at the wheel. You have music on blast and you’re singing along without a care in the world. Everything starts to feel more real as you stop in front of the mansion.
“Alright, now let’s get you married.”
As soon as you open the car door Olivia is waiting for you. She has a clipboard and a headset as she gives you an initial report. Everything was going according to plan. The photographer and videographer are also there waiting for you to get started, their partners are already off with Bucky and the guys.
Olivia ushers you in and up to the room where you’ll be getting ready. Lottie is a little ball of excitement as she chatters happily about how she can’t wait to wear her dress and look like a princess. When you get to your room it’s already set up with breakfast and the hair and makeup stylists are ready to go. You all change into robes so it’s easier to get dressed later.
“Who’s going first?” The makeup stylist asks with a smile.
“I will.” Sofia says as she walks out of the bathroom in a blue bathrobe.
“Ok ladies, let’s get this party started.”
There’s more music as you chat with Nat. Lottie plays with some toys you had packed the night before. You all watch as Sofia gets her makeup done and Wanda gets her hair done. Everything is according to plan, the day is beautiful and you couldn’t be happier.
“You’re sure you want to do this?” Steve sits on the couch in the room the groomsmen are all getting ready in. It’s just on the other side of the mansion.
“Yes, I want to look my best.”
“But she loves the look.” Sam adds as he joins Steve. “As best man I advise against it.”
Bucky looks at himself in the mirror and sighs. “I’m sure.”
“Do I have to do that too?” Henry asks.
“Not at all.”
“Ok.”
While Bucky gets a haircut and cleans up his beard the rest of the guys sit around and relax. Clint gave Bucky advice while Steve, Sam and Joshua joked around. Bucky was the most relaxed he’d ever been. He knew you were down the hallway getting ready too. Excitement bubbled in his chest the closer it got to the actual ceremony.
“Gentlemen, you should start getting dressed.” Olivia says as she walks in. “We will be starting to get some group photographs soon.”
Everyone started gathering their clothing while Olivia walked up to Bucky.
“Are you ready for today?” She asks with a smile.
“More than ready. Could you do me a favor though?”
“Of course.”
“Could you give this,” Bucky pulls out a small black velvet box from his bag and gives it to Olivia. “To Y/N?”
“Interesting, she asked me if I could give you this.” Olivia gives Bucky a box too.
“Thanks.”
“You have 45 minutes gentlemen.” Olivia calls out before leaving.
Bucky looks down at the box, curious as to what it could be that you have given him. He takes the top off to find a vintage watch but it’s the note underneath that gets his attention. It’s a simple ‘for your eyes only’ scribbled in your handwriting. Bucky looks around before pulling out the other gift you’d sent him.
His jaw dropped when he saw the polaroids you’d sent him. You were in several different stages of undress. Bucky had to look around again to make sure no one would sneak up on him. He flipped through what you had sent him until he got to his favorite. You were dressed in red lacy lingerie and the jacket of his military uniform from the 40s.
Bucky couldn’t wait until he got you alone.
****
“Your love has sent you this.” Olivia gives you a black velvet box.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Now ladies please start getting dressed, there's only 45 minutes left before you are needed downstairs.”
You were sitting and getting the last touch up on your hair when you decided to open the gift Bucky sent you. It’s a beautiful gold bracelet. By the looks of it, it’s been well loved. There’s a simple note in his handwriting, explaining that it used to belong to his mother. That she wore it on her wedding day and so did his sisters. Now that you were becoming a Barnes, the bracelet was yours and one day you would pass it down to Charlotte. He also told you there was no pressure in you wearing it, he just wanted you to have it.
“Mrs. Barnes, are you ready to get dressed?” Sofia called out. When you looked up she was holding the garment bag your dress was in.
“I’m more than ready.”
The guests had arrived. Everyone was moving through the venue to the garden. The wedding party was dressed to perfection. You were nervous but excited.
In one of the many large rooms Eddie stood in the middle. At the direction of the photographer he had his back turned to the entrance. You walked in and stood just behind him.
“Ok dad, turn around.” The photographer instructed while taking many photographs. Eddie did as he was told.
“Oh wow.” Eddie choked out when he saw you in your wedding dress. His eyes immediately filled with tears as he looked at you. He had to take a deep breath before he could say a word. “You look beautiful, kitten.”
“Thanks dad.”
He held his hands out for you and you two stood there for a moment, enjoying each other’s comforting presence before Eddie pulled you in for a hug. You were both smiles, completely forgetting the presence of anyone else in the room.
“I can’t believe my little girl is getting married.” He murmurs, trying his best to not cry.
“Me either.”
“You’re happy right?”
“So happy, dad.” You say while wiping away a stray tear from his cheek.
“That’s all I want for you.”
“Me too.”
Olivia walks in, telling you that Henry is just out in the hallway. She gives you a moment before she lets him in.
“Wow mama, you look so beautiful. Like a princess.” Henry says as he gives you a hug.
“Thank you my sweet boy. You look so handsome. Are you ready for today?”
“I’m a little nervous but I think I can do it.”
You smile down at him. “You’re so brave bubs. I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
“Bubba!” Lottie calls out excitedly. They hadn't seen each other since the night before so they were more than happy to reunite.
“Hi baby. You look like a princess too.”
“Thank you bubba. You wook so nice.” Lottie compliments her brother as they hug.
“Alright everyone, places. We are starting in just a few minutes. Charlotte here is your basket full of flowers. Henry, here are the rings. Olive gives them each what they’ll be taking down the aisle.
“Ready?” Eddie walks up next to you and offers you his arm.
“More than anything.”
He escorts you down the hallway where you can see the wedding party. The groomsmen hoop and holler as they see you walking down.
“Damn Y/N, you look amazing.” Clint says with a cheeky smile.
“Thank you Clint.”
“Places everyone.” Olivia says as she walks up. There are assistants moving around while you wait to walk down the aisle.
The music starts and you feel the butterflies in your tummy. You watch as Sofia and Joshua walk out first. Then it’s Wanda and Clint. After them it’s Nat. At the door Henry hesitates as all eyes fall on him. He starts to become invisible before he turns to look at you.
“It’s ok sweet boy.” You tell him. “Do you want to walk out with Lottie?”
“Yeah we can do it.” Lottie is already moving to stand beside her brother.
You watch as Henry takes a deep breath. “I can do it.”
You smile at him. He turns back around and takes a few tentative steps outside. You can’t see him anymore but you’re confident that he’s doing ok.
Henry keeps his eyes on Bucky who is giving him an encouraging smile. With every step he takes, Henry feels more comfortable. When he gets to the front Bucky gives him a hug and the groomsmen give him pats on the back.
Lottie smiles at you before she walks out of the double doors. She takes a few petals and tosses them in the air with a flourish. She’s all smiles until she gets halfway down the aisle. When Lottie looks up she sees Steve and Bucky and she couldn’t be more excited.
“Hi daddy. Hi Steebie.” She yells from her spot. “Wook at my dwess.”
“You look beautiful, Doll.” Bucky says with an easy smile and tears in his eyes.
“Steebie you wike my dwess?”
Her innocent questions had the guest laughing.
“Of course I do. You look beautiful, sweetheart.”
Lottie giggles before she starts throwing more flower petals around and waving at the guests. When she finally gets to the front she walks straight up to Bucky and they hug.
“You did great, Doll.”
“Tank you daddy.”
“Now we get to see mama walk out here.”
“Kay.”
At the back you laugh as Olivia tells you what’s happening.
“That girl is a riot.” Eddie comments.
“You know she didn’t let Bucky see her dress because she said it was bad luck.”
Eddie shakes his head and chuckles.
“Ok, you’re next.” Olivia comments with a smile. “Here is your bouquet.”
You take the flowers and wait for the music to change. Eddie places a hand over yours on his arm. The smile he gives you is warm and soft and you can’t help but give him one back.
“Hey guys.”
You heard Wanda’s voice in your head.
“Wanda?” You thought, not knowing Bucky was doing the same.
“Yes, I’m talking to both of you at the same time.”
“Is something wrong?” Bucky asked as he looked over at Wanda standing just behind Nat.
“Nothing is wrong. Do you remember the day that Charlotte started walking? She had a vision that day.”
“Yes.” You both think in unison.
“She saw you getting married. In fact her vision was this exact moment.” Wanda says and you can hear the smile in her voice. “You were always meant to be together.”
Bucky had been fighting back tears but this revelation breaks his resolve as the music changes.
You take the first step towards the rest of your life. The garden is decorated beautifully. Flowers in different hues of blue with pops of white line the aisle. Vases in different shapes and sizes fill the space as well. The sun is shining brightly, there is not a single cloud in the sky. As you get to the top of the aisle all the guests stand.
Your eyes immediately fall on Bucky. He’s smiling and shedding tears freely. You feel your heart beating wildly in your chest the closer you get to him. Out of the corner of your eyes you see your friends and family looking at you lovingly.
This feels like the longest and the shortest walk at the same time.
“Edward, do you support the marriage between Y/N and James today?” Steve asks.
“I do.”
Bucky steps forward and shakes Eddie’s hand before the latter pulls him in for a hug.
“You keep taking care of her for me like you have, son. And make her happy. That’s all I ask.”
“Yes sir.”
Eddie pulls back and turns to you. He’s on the brink of crying which makes you want to cry, but happy tears. Eddie gives you a quick kiss on the cheek and tells you how much he loves you before taking a seat.
Bucky offers you his hand and you take it happily. He brings your hand up to his lips and places a kiss on your knuckles. As he pulls away Bucky notices that you’re wearing the bracelet that once belonged to his mother. He can’t help but run a finger over the gold bracelet.
“You look breathtaking, Sugar.”
“You look so handsome. And you cut your hair.” You whisper as you look at him in his dark blue suit. Somehow it made his eyes pop even more.
“You didn’t have to wear it.” Bucky says as he looks at the bracelet again.
“I wanted to wear it. Now she’s here in some way.”
You smile at each other as you take your place in front of Steve. He sends a wink your way as he stands taller. Nat steps forward and takes your bouquet.
“Dear family and friends, don’t worry this isn’t a mission briefing.” Steve starts.
You and Bucky as well as the guest laugh.
“We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of James Buchanan Barnes and Y/N Y/L/N.” Steve continues his speech. “If you’ve ever doubted the existence of soulmates I’d like you to take a moment and look at this man and woman standing before us. Two people that should have never met have come together against all odds. I believe that James and Y/N were made for each other and nothing could stand in their way. Not time or war or enemies. Maybe a little bit of stubbornness because they don’t like to listen to advice. But we’re here now so I guess it all worked itself out in the end.”
You and Bucky smile at Steve as he continues.
“I’ve known Bucky since childhood. He’s been an extraordinary friend. He’s someone you want in your corner when things get tough. Bucky is a great example of what a good man is. He’s loyal to a fault and will always put the people he loves first.”
Steve looks over at Buck with a smile before turning to you.
“I’ve had the privilege of meeting Y/N shortly after waking up in this new world. She is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met. Y/N doesn’t give up on people. When Bucky was able to join the team she was the first one there to welcome him. They are two of the most caring, loving and wonderful people I know. It’s been an honor to watch them go from strangers to friends to partners. They would do anything for each other. A love like that is not easy to find but definitely worth fighting for. And their closest friends and family have seen them fight for each other, for their family and for their love.”
Bucky gently squeezes your hand. The two of you lovingly gaze into each other’s eyes as Steve transitions to the next part.
“Do you James, take Y/N to be your wife? To live together in matrimony, to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold from this day forward as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.” Bucky replies immediately and then Steve turns to you.
“Do you Y/N, take James to be your husband? To live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold from this day forward as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.” You reply just as quickly.
“James and Y/N have decided to write their own vows. James will go first.”
You could see how nervous he was. Bucky takes a deep breath but looks into your eyes.
“When I was younger I knew I wanted to be a husband and a father. When the war started that dream was ripped away from me. After I was saved I thought that I didn’t deserve those things. But then I met you, Y/N.” Bucky starts. You know that it’s not easy for him to talk about his emotions like this in front of so many people, which makes it so much more special. “I was still in a very dark place when I met you the night I arrived at the compound. You were caring and compassionate. From the first moment my heart was yours. It still amazes me that you love me the way you do.”
You smile at him as he takes a moment to calm his nerves.
“You always saw the best in me even when I was at my lowest. You didn’t think twice about stepping up and taking care of Charlotte when we first found her. Or risking your life to get Henry to safety. Seeing you become a mother to our kids has been the greatest gift. Being able to be by your side has been my biggest joy. I promise to work hard every day to be the man that you and our kids deserve. I promise to love you with all that I am and to protect you and our kids with my life. I love you more than words can express and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life by your side.”
Both you and Bucky were blinking back tears by the time he was done. You even saw Steve get a bit teary eyed.
“Y/N, you’re next.”
“How am I supposed to follow that?” You ask no one in particular. Bucky chuckles and sends a wink your way. “I love you so much. Being with you has been the happiest I’ve ever been. I never thought that I’d find someone that would accept me completely until I met you. You make me feel safe and loved and seen. Being by your side as you stepped into the role of fatherhood has been the most special experience. I promise to be there for you in the good times and the bad. I promise to remind you how good you are even when you don’t think you are. I love you so much and I can’t wait to experience the rest of my life next to you.”
Bucky couldn’t help the tear that rolled down his cheek. One you were quick to wipe away.
“Henry, please bring the rings forward.” Steve says. Henry steps up with one ring in hand and two small metal beads, one black and one gold. “A ring has no beginning and no end. It is two sides joined in an endless path. These rings represent your unconditional love and respect for one another. James, take the ring, place it on Y/N’s finger and repeat after me.”
Bucky takes the ring from Henry and slides it on your finger. He smiles when he sees the set he bought you complete. Then he repeats what Steve is saying.
“Y/N, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and fidelity. I promise to love you today, tomorrow and forever.”
“Y/N, now it’s your turn.”
You turn to Henry and take the two small vibranium beads, one black and one gold. In your palm you manipulate them, creating an intricate design of gold within the black. On Bucky’s left hand, you make a small indentation. You place the ring on Bucky’s left finger and it falls perfectly into the groove you created and then you fuse it together. It had been Bucky’s idea that his ring should be incorporated into his finger. He never wanted to take it off.
“James, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and fidelity. I promise to love you today, tomorrow and forever.”
You look up into his eyes. Both of you with smiles that were brighter than the sun.
“By the power vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife.” Steve announced proudly. “You may now kiss the bride.”
Bucky had been fighting the urge to pull you in for a kiss the moment you stood in front of him. Before Steve even finished the sentence he was already pulling you in by your waist. Neither of you can help but smile into the kiss as your arms wrap around his neck. The sound of your guests clapping and cheering fade as your lips meet in your first kiss as a married couple. It was familiar but different, new. Maybe it was just the excitement of finally getting married that made the kiss so much sweeter. The thought of spending your life next to Bucky and getting to see the kids grow up made you pull Bucky in just a little bit tighter. You didn’t want to let him go.
“Yay, we mawwied now!” Lottie announced loudly as she clapped. Her excitement had people chuckling and you and Bucky finally pulling away.
“I’d like to present to you for the first time, Mr. And Mrs. Barnes.” Steve said as music started playing.
Nat gave you back your bouquet and you took Bucky’s arm. The two of you started walking back down the aisle. Eddie was in tears as he watched you walk by but so was Molly and Luke. Behind you, Henry escorted Lottie out. They were followed by the rest of the bridal party.
“Congratulations.” Olivia says as you meet her just inside the hallway. “Come this way. I prepared a room just for the four of you so that you have some time together.”
“Thank you.”
Bucky opens the door for you. Inside there’s a couch and some refreshments. You sit as Bucky ushers Lottie and Henry in.
“Would you like a drink, Mrs. Barnes?” Bucky smiles cheekily at you.
“I would love one Mr. Barnes.” You smile before turning to the kids. “Henry, I'm so proud of you, sweet boy.”
“Thank you mama.”
“And you did great my sweet angel.”
“Tank you mama.” Lottie smiles before turning to look at Bucky as he hands you some champagne and hands the kids a plate with something to snack on, then something to drink. “Oh tank you daddy.”
“You’re welcome, doll. You looked so beautiful, baby. Just like a princess.”
Lottie giggled and hid her face behind her hands.
“And our sweet boy looks so handsome. Just like a prince.” You add with a smile.
Bucky sits next to you, holding his own glass of champagne. An arm rests on the back of the couch behind you and you lean into him.
“Hi Sugar.”
“Hi baby.” You lean up to give him a quick kiss. “We’re married.” You whisper against his lips.
“You’re stuck with me now.”
“I wouldn’t want anyone else.” You raise your glass and Bucky does the same. Henry and Lottie, not wanting to be left out, raise their juice boxes to ‘clink’ them together with you and Bucky.
“To the Barnes family and our future.”
You take a sip of champagne, cringing slightly at the taste.
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know, it tastes weird.”
“It tastes fine to me.”
You just shrug. “It’s no big deal. We have something different picked out for the reception.”
Bucky finishes his drink and takes yours as you lean against him. The kids are sharing their snacks and having their own conversation. You were sure this was heaven.
“Did you look at your watch?” You ask.
“Yeah, it’s great. I love it.”
“You have to look at it again.”
Bucky shifts and pulls up the sleeve of his suit and shirt to look down at the watch. His eyes widen in surprise when he sees a small ‘I do’ carved on the bezel, next to the time you’d both said those words.
“You’re amazing, you know that?” Bucky says while still looking down at the watch.
You smile while accepting another kiss from him. After about fifteen minutes of your alone time, Olivia knocks on the door to inform you that you’re needed for pictures. The four of you head out to meet the wedding party and your family.
“Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Mr. And Mrs. Barnes.” The DJ announces and all the guests cheer as you and Bucky walk hand in hand to the reception.
The room was decorated beautifully. Just like the ceremony there were flowers and cases all over. Candles were lit along the tables and the lights above were very soft to give the room a romantic feel. Everything was perfect.
“The lovely couple will share their first dance as husband and wife.”
Music slowly started to play once Bucky escorted you to the center of the dance floor. He pulls you by your waist and leaves his hands there.
🎶 I met you in the dark, you lit me up.🎶
“I love this song.” You tell Bucky as he leads you around the dance floor.
🎶then you smiled over your shoulder. For a minute I was stone cold sober. I pulled you closer to my chest. 🎶
“And I love you.” Bucky whispers into your ear. You smile as he pushes you away and spins you before pulling you back.
🎶 and I’ll take the kids to school, wave them goodbye.🎶
As those lyrics ring out you and Bucky can’t help but turn your heads at the same time to find the kids. Henry and Charlotte are at the edge of the dance floor, both of them with bright smiles and stars in their eyes as they watch their parents dance.
While you kept looking at the kids Bucky turned to look at you again. He was sure his heart was going to give out at any moment. There was just no way that he could be so happy, most of the time he thought he never deserved it. But you were always there to drive the doubt away.
“I wanna live with you even when we’re ghosts.” He sings just for you. “‘Cause you were always there when I needed you most.”
“I’m gonna love you ‘til my lungs give out. I promise ‘til death we part like in our vows.” You sang back.
This time you couldn’t help the few tears that escaped. This was so much more than you could have ever dreamed of.
🎶now everybody knows, that it just you and me until we’re gray and old. Just say you won’t let go.🎶
The final notes of the song played as Bucky dipped you and then met you halfway to give you a sweet kiss. When he pulled you back up, his lips still connected to yours, the room filled with cheers and applause from your guests. You only pulled apart when you heard Henry and Lottie running across the hardwood floor towards you.
The four of you move to your table and sit down. Dinner is served almost immediately and you enjoy your time next to your husband.
****
Bucky leads you around the room, making sure to stop at every table. His family, well your family now too, all congratulate you and wish you years of happiness. Bucky’s nieces and nephews start to call you aunt Y/N and you can’t help but giggle.
You’re almost done with the tables so you head to the next one.
“You look absolutely radiant.” Ramonda says with a huge smile on her face. She opens her arms, inviting you into a hug before moving on to Bucky. “I am so happy for both of you. May you have many wonderful years together.”
“Thank you Ramonda.”
“My second favorite white boy.” Shuri moves to stand right beside her mother. “Congratulations to the happy couple.”
“Second favorite?” Bucky looked offended.
“Of course. Henry has the top honor.”
“It was a beautiful ceremony and we are honored that you invited us.” T’Challa congratulated both of you. “A gift from us.” He holds out an envelope out to you and you take it. “Please open it now.”
Bucky looks over your shoulder as you read the note. “A house? In Wakanda?” You look up at T’Challa with wide eyes.
“You are family now. We want you to have a place to come visit whenever you like.”
“And it can always be expanded if the family grows.” Ramonda adds with a sly smile.
“Thank you so much T’Challa.” You give him a quick hug.
“Oh and we made sure to include a goat pen. I hear Charlotte loves goats.”
“We might have to move to Wakanda permanently when she finds out about the goats.”
You chuckle because you can already imagine her trying to sneak goats into her bed or her sneaking out to play with them. After a few minutes of conversation you move on to the last table. Tony, Pepper, Bruce, Duckie, Thor and Loki are all sitting together. You go around the table greeting everyone before heading back to your own table.
****
The speeches had started. Sam was currently speaking and he had everyone in stitches. As the crowd quiets down he turns to Bucky.
“In all honesty I was surprised but touched when Bucky asked me to be his best man. There is a genuinely good man under all the scowling and glaring. I’m proud to be his friend and to be able to watch him become a father and a husband. To the happy couple.” Sam raises his glass and everyone follows.
Nat and Wanda decided to work together on a speech. You had been surprised at how touching it was. They spoke about the friendship the three of you had created. The good, the bad and the ugly the three of you had faced not only as avengers but as friends.
“We love you both very much.” Wanda says, ending their joint speech.
In a surprising move you saw Henry get up from his chair and extend his hand to Lottie. They walk hand in hand towards Wanda and Nat. Henry takes the microphone but hesitates as everyone keeps their eyes on him. You turn to look at Bucky but he’s just as surprised as you are.
“Hello everyone.” Henry’s voice is small as he addresses the room. “I’m Henry.”
“An am Wottie.” Lottie adds when Henry holds out the mic for her. “Am so happy we gots mawwied today.”
“Daddy and Mama, you are our favorite people ever.”
“You awe-ways so nice.”
“Mama and daddy saved baby and me from the bad men. They showed me and baby kindness. They are always patient and show us lo-” Henry fails to blink back tears of his own. “Love.” Lottie reaches up and wipes a few tears away. “I promise I’m crying because I’m happy.”
Henry’s confession received a chorus of ‘awws’ from the guests. You and Bucky stood and went to your kids.
“My sweet boy.” You whisper as you hug Henry, pulling away just enough to wipe his tears away with a handkerchief Bucky had given you.
“They love us and I want us to be a family forever.” Henry says into the microphone.
“We will be bubs. No one will ever get in between us ever again. I promise.”
“I promise too.” You look at Lottie who was tucked into Bucky’s shoulder. “What about you? What do you want?”
Without missing a beat Lottie takes the microphone from Henry and announces, “I want a baby sissy.”
Again Lottie caused all the guests to laugh while you hid your face behind your hands. With Henry and Lottie the speeches come to an end it’s time for some more dancing.
“And now ladies and gentlemen it’s time for the father/daughter dance.” The DJ announces.
Eddie comes up to your table and offers you his hand. You follow him to the middle of the dance floor. Eddie moves with you and you can’t help but laugh as you follow his lead. Halfway through the DJ announces that all fathers should join you and Eddie on the dance floor. Bucky and Lottie are first. Then you slowly see Clint and his daughter join. Luke twirls Olivia with one hand while keeping his other hand over Molly’s growing belly as he dances with his three girls. T’Challa even pulls Shuri out of her chair. Even if she protests you see a little hint of a smile on her lips.
The song ends and the DJ then announces the mother/son dance. The dance floor clears out quickly. The plan was that you would share a dance with Henry so he wouldn’t be left out. What Bucky didn’t expect was for Ramonda to walk up to him and hold her hand out. Bucky took it without question and they started to dance, just the two of them on the floor.
“I know I am not your mother but I am very fond of you.” Ramonda says as they sway from side to side. “Your mother would be very proud of you, James.”
“Thank you Ramonda.” Bucky takes Ramonda’s hand and places a kiss on her knuckles. “I don’t think I’ll ever have the words to explain how much it means that you would dance with me. But I believe you have another dance partner.” Bucky steps away as T’Challa takes his place.
As the song plays on, Bucky looks over to see you pulling Henry so that you can dance with him. You’re leaning down so that he can give you a kiss on the cheek. Other mothers and sons joined the dance. It was lovely to see Sarah take turns with A.J. and Cass. Laura dances with Cooper and Nathaniel. Even Peter dances with his aunt May.
“Having fun?” Bucky asks when you make your way over to him after the dance is over.
“Absolutely, but I’m gonna grab Lottie and change our dresses.”
“Why?” Bucky looks you up and down. “You look perfect.”
“Thank you, babe. But I have a more comfortable dress so that we can dance more and it feels so tight around my chest now. If I stay in this dress any longer my boobs going to hurt a lot.”
“I can help with that.” Bucky smirks.
You roll your eyes before leaning in to kiss him. Bucky wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you in.
“I’ll be back.”
****
You were back about half an hour later. First Sofia helped you get changed into your second dress. It was something easier to move in. Then you helped get Lottie changed. She had chosen a champagne colored sequin jumpsuit, mostly because she liked the way it sparkled.
The two of you made your way back to the reception just as the DJ was announcing that the dance floor was open for everyone. Lottie excuses herself and makes her way to Steve in order to share a dance with him.
Sofia takes your hand and pulls you towards your bridesmaids, Molly, Laura, Sarah, Maria and Pepper. You all dance and laugh together.
“May I steal my wife?” Bucky comes in just as one of the songs ends. He’d taken off his suit jacket, bow tie and rolled up the sleeves of his button down shirt.
“Certainly.” Laura pushes you gently towards him.
With one hand Bucky takes yours with the other he offers you a glass of wine but you shake your head. Bucky downs the wine in one gulp and leaves the glass behind on a table.
A slower song starts to play and Bucky pulls you in close. His hands sit at your waist while you wrap your arms around his neck. You gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes, not needing to exchange words to know you both are overwhelmingly happy and so in love.
“Oh my god.” You gasp as you and Bucky turn slowly.
“What? What is it?” Bucky went to turn his head but you stopped him.
“Ok, slowly turn me around and then look over my left shoulder. I can’t believe this.”
Bucky does as you ask. He lets out a small gasp too as he sees what you saw. It then sports a proud smirk. Across the room Steve is holding his hand out for Duckie to take. There seems to be a little hesitation on her part but she ultimately takes his hand. Steve stays at the edge of the dance floor. Duckie awkwardly holds onto Steve’s biceps and looks everywhere but at Steve.
“Now it will only take another year before he asks her out.” Bucky murmurs.
“But hey, it’s progress.” You reply with a smile. “Besides, it’s not like you can talk. We had a kid before we even dated and then another before you proposed.”
“Do you want a third before our one year wedding anniversary? Because I can make that happen.”
You laugh. “Shut up.”
“That wasn’t a no.” Bucky smiles before he kisses you again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“One dance Woki Poki.” Lottie held up one finger.
“I will not dance with you or anyone else for that matter.”
“Pwease.”
“No.”
Lottie pouts as she looks up at him. Her big blue eyes silently pleading that he would do as she asked. Loki crossed his arms over his chest and rolled his eyes.
“Fine. Just one dance.”
“Yay.” Lottie claps and takes Loki’s hand, pulling him up from his chair.
One by one Lottie would dance with the whole team and a few other people.
Across the room Henry was hanging out with Clint’s and Sarah’s boys. All of them eying the dessert table. They were planning a little heist in order to get some treats before they were served to everyone else.
“I have to go alone.” Henry says as he looks around to make sure no one is listening. “If one of you goes with me then I won’t have my hands free to carry the plate.”
“Fine, we’ll wait by the door and we can go out to the garden.”
“Ok, I’ll be back.” Henry says and turns invisible.
The boys watch the table, seeing a plate disappear. They ran towards the door, yelling to their parents that they were going to go play outside.
Henry meets them just outside with the plate of sweet treats held high. The group of boys laugh as they move away from the reception. Cass congratulates Henry on doing a good job. They sit together and joke while sharing the desserts.
The reception is almost over. You stand with Bucky and the kids in front of the cake Henry chose. Bucky holds up the knife and together you cut two small pieces of cake. You and Bucky feed each other a small piece while Lottie swipes some frosting and smears it on Henry’s cheek. She lets out a full belly laugh before running away with her brother following close behind with frosting on his finger.
****
There’s time for one last dance. So you and Bucky choose to dance together with the kids as the guest exit to give you some privacy. This is it. Just the four of you, ready to face the rest of your lives together. Nothing could be better than that.
You exit the mansion through the main doorway. All your guests are lined up, cheering and waving sparklers as you, Bucky and the kids make your way down towards the waiting car. At the end of the makeshift aisle you stop and hug your dad and closest friends. Lottie and Henry go with Steve since he offered to watch them during the honeymoon.
“We’ll be back before you know it, doll. And we’ll call everyday.” Bucky kisses Lottie’s cheek.
“Habe fun daddy.”
“I will, you have fun and behave.” Bucky squints his eyes making Lottie let out a sleepy giggle. “You too bubs.” Bucky turns his attention to Henry who is leaning into you.
“I will. I’ll miss you.”
“We’ll miss you both, sweet boy.”
After a few more hugs for the kids, Nat and Sam push you towards the waiting car. Bucky opens the door to the passenger’s side and helps you in. Bucky doesn’t waste time as he gets in and turns the car on. With one hand on the steering wheel and the other on your thigh Bucky speeds away.
Bucky still wouldn’t tell you where you were going. Even as you climbed the stairs to Tony’s private jet. Your luggage was already put away and there was an overnight bag with everything you’d need during your flight. Bucky had made sure to pack comfortable clothes for you to change into.
It really didn’t matter what Bucky had planned. He could take you to the most boring place ever and you’d be ok with it just because you were by his side. You snuggle up to him after take off. The excitement of the day was finally catching up to you.
“C’mon Sugar,” Bucky pulls you into his chest. “I’ll wake you up when we get there.”
“Love you, Mr. Barnes.”
“I love you too Mrs. Barnes.”
You smile, Mrs. Barnes had a nice ring to it.
"Stark Industries and and the Wakanda Outreach programme has helped thousands of mutants and inhumans, why don't we just hand her over to them and be done with it?" Kitty Pryde mulled over the idea, rolling her eyes as the clock ticked over into the third hour of bickering.
Y/N's sedation would wear off within the next half hour and the team were still yet to come to an unanimous decision on what to do with her. She was currently fast asleep on a comfy bed inside a room which restricted the use of her powers- but she didn't know that yet.
Bucky had tried his best to remain objective, but as he watched the large monitor streaming footage from her room, he couldn't help but be reminded of the girl he watched grow up into a woman and how he'd already missed four years of her life.
"I'll monster watch tonight, James." Y/N hummed, playing with a small flame at her fingertips. She looked over her shoulder and found him watching her with worried eyes, yet she just smiled, "You haven't slept for three nights in a row now. Trust me, they'd hurt you a lot more if you fail your mission tomorrow than they will if I'm a bit grouchy. Sleep, moya lyubov."
"She'd still be a great addition to the team," Tony sighed, standing up to stretch his legs, "and by team I mean the Avengers, I don't even know why you're here quite honestly."
Kitty flipped him off before storming out, probably going to find Charles or Raven to vent to them about how much Stark pissed her off.
Natasha leant over the table, eyes not moving from the tablet in front of her, "Is she like you were, Barnes?"
Bucky tensed and looked at the redhead, "In what way?" He asked slowly.
Nat glanced over at Tony before finding the super soldier waiting for her response, "Did they manipulate her mind and create triggers that'd turn her into a murder machine? Is she at all loyal to Hydra?"
"Come on, you saw her earlier, Nat, Y/N had tried to escape that many times they had to chain her up." Steve tried to reason as he saw Bucky's flesh hand clench up.
"We should consider every possible angle though, right?" Bruce spoke up from his seat towards the back of the room, propping his glasses on his nose and taking a better look at the security footage, "She seems harmless, but-"
"She is harmless." Bucky stressed, "Sure, when you look at her file you see a genetically engineered super-assassin with elemental powers, but not one day passed without trying to escape or planning our next escape. And okay, fine, she enjoys violence, but Hydra conditioned her to be that way and she's never had anyone to tell her otherwise. At the end of the day, she's scared- and I don't want her waking up alone."
The soldier felt Steve's hand squeezing his shoulder in comfort, but it felt cold and the sentiment felt short. Bucky watched each pair of eyes fall away from his sight and their voices stayed silent. He shook off Steve's hand and left the room, making his way down to the supervisory level. He looked down at the small piece of technology in his hand, matching the number to the cell like room and entering a six digit code into the keypad from memory. A single second later it pinged and the lights turned green.
The one armed man stood in the doorway for a moment, watching Y/N's healing figure peacefully sleeping. It was a sight to behold, even in tattered clothes and a thick layer of grime and dust covering her, she was anything but a weapon. She was soft and even delicate to the eye, resting as if her mind wasn't plagued with the tortured souls from her past.
Bucky sat down on the cool wooden floor, crossing his legs like he used to at the age of eight, playing tic tac toe with a small Steven Grant Rogers. Those memories didn't feel much like his own, more at peace with the ones of war he shared with Y/N.
"Stop pulling your punches, their hands are worse than yours." Nineteen year old Y/N warned James with a sharp whisper. His flesh knuckles were scorched from her most recent attack, goaded to use her powers by the watchful handlers. Metal collided with bone and he knew on impact two ribs had fractured, a further one would bloom with bruises soon enough. Training was often more taxing than the missions themselves, bored Hydra agents pulling on puppeteer strings to ensure they put on a good show.
Y/N estimated another ninety minutes had past before her handler pulled her away for healing observations, for research rather than well-being purposes. It wasn't long until she found herself flung back into the dingy cell with a kick to the back of her knees and an expired first aid kit thrown to the ground beside her.
Once the door cranked shut, James knelt beside the stoic woman he knew was hurting so deeply within. He collected any supplies for sterilisation and allowed Y/N to collapse under his touch. She curled into his chest as he cleaned the wounds he caused, burnt knuckles stung from the movements but that was numb compared to the torment of seeing her in pain.
James was past the point of blaming himself for any injuries Y/N incurred from training and vice versa, too much of their precious time had already been taken away in arguments of how much the other was not at fault. Hydra allowed them one hour a day together, usually after training, to decompress and recover and mostly hold each other. Y/N had a knack for sneaking out of her cell to be with the super soldier, it took more time stopping her, punishing her and hauling her back than their current routine. Teamwork on missions became more efficient, so they were allowed their hour of peace unless it became a weakness.
That was when Y/N was most aware of time passing by, fingers habitually running over the rigid scars between metal and soft flesh as a reminder James was entirely real. He watched between the fire dancing in her free hand and the peace within tired features, her own eyes burning bright at his constant touch. The hour would soon be up, and there was no fight to leave each other other than the lingering fingertips as they were pulled apart.
"You cut your hair-" Y/N's gravelly voice was cut off with a harsh array of coughs, spluttering dust from her cell's destruction stuck in her lungs. She squinted at the bright sterile lighting, everything in the room intensely white with the exception of Bucky and his all black clothing sat at the bottom of her vision.
He dialled the lights down noticing Y/N's discomfort and handed her an unopened bottle of mineral water. Her eyes carefully surveyed his movements, not considering him a threat as she chugged the liquid gratefully.
"Do you like it?" He asked after a few seconds of silence had filled the air, taking a seat at the side of the mattress apprehensively. Four years had passed and although he trusted the woman he thought was dead with his life, she was indeed alive and Hydra could do a lot of damage in much less time apart. He had so many questions, so many missed touches longed for and so little worry that she was no longer his Phoenix.
Even with grime covering her from head to toe, Bucky couldn't take his eyes away from her as she scrunched her nose playfully and answered, "I'll miss your long hair, but this suits you- you look like a person."
Unlike Bucky, whose memories were fuzzy around the edges, for better or worse Y/N held all of hers. She remembered cutting his hair short for a mission the once and wishing Hydra wouldn’t let it grow out again. But seeing him this time was immaculate- he was his own human, and she looked to the dirt and disheveled clothing on her person and knew she wasn’t. Purely what she was engineered to be and not a thing more, a biological weapon owned only by Hydra.
Bucky sensed the mental downward spiral as she scanned herself, brows knitting together and tears welling threatening to fall.
He corralled her away from those cataclysmic thoughts with a cool touch to her hot fingertips, metal thumb running across the back of her hand soothingly. “It took a bit more than a hair cut, but the days I feel like a person outweigh the days I don’t. And we’ll get you there too.”
“Can I start that tomorrow?” Y/N pouted and lay against the plush pillows behind her head, content with the sounds of metal whirring against her skin that only super soldier hearing could pick up on.
The team, fewer members left in the conference room, watched the interaction from the projection. A few more words were shared before Bucky lay down beside Y/N, both infinitely still but continuing the motions on their joint hands. Steve’s chair rolled back a few inches as he eyed Tony, “Listen, I can already see Bucky following if we send her off somewhere, we’ve got to at least try re-humanising her.”
“Great, we adopted another murder machine- when the first one gets lonely, at least now he’ll have company!” Tony held his hands up in defence when Steve didn’t appreciate his humour, “Alright, Cap. We’ll observe, give it a few days and get to work on project no murder and less machine.”
You ran for your life, lungs burning, feet flying.
You looked behind you to see that the one pursuing you was not far off. You ducked down a hallway and into an open door.
Your chest heaved as you leaned against the wall and looked around for a hiding space.
Fragmented memories were coming back to you during this pursuit, and at this moment, the sense of running barefoot through tall reeds on the banks of a river overwhelmed you.
You shook it off, although you couldn’t help yourself from looking to the air for your favorite brightly colored water fowl. Your heart dropped when you looked around to register an empty room with a solitary gurney. The fact that you were trapped in a mental hospital and not outside it sucked the air out of you.
And then you heard his footsteps.
Bucky slowed his pace as his ears perked up, and he opened the same door you did moments before. He’d come for you an hour ago and you’d managed to evade him ever since. Typical for one who’d taken the serum. You were a hard target to acquire, but he was determined.
He scanned the empty room, checking for trap doors or hidden panels. He walked over to the windows, which were sealed shut. He looked down on the courtyard that patients weren’t allowed to use and shook his head, then, he made his way out of the door again.
You waited three minutes after you heard his footsteps retreating before you moved the ceiling tile and dropped down from where you’d been hiding.
For some reason, the man you were hiding from you terrified you. Ever since you saw his face weeks ago when you fought him on a mission, you’d been plagued with strange memories. Which made your Master have to reset you again and again. You resented that.
Despite the fact that you felt impelled destroy him, you did not want to face the dark-haired man in black with the piercing blue eyes again. You may not know your own name, but you knew that man had some mysterious power over you. Even more so than the Power Broker.
Just as you reached for the doorknob, the door jerked open, the man in black returning your stare with a rueful grin. You’d been too lost in your own thoughts to be fully aware of his presence.
“Daga karshe na sameki masoyiyata.”
Your ears perked up at the language that the man spoke. You understood it, although you’d spoken French for as long as you could remember, which wasn’t long. Maybe this horrible institution wasn’t your home.
“Why did you call me that?”
Your eyes widened when English came out of your mouth. It seemed a natural response to this man. You were very confused, more than you normally were, which was always.
The man was inching closer to you now.
“Because that is who you are, Soyayya ta.”
“No! That’s not true!”
You hurled yourself at the man, climbing up his body and winding up with your legs around his neck. You squeezed, hoping to choke him out while he grinned up at you.
“Yes it is.”
His voice was weak, as if he was gasping for breath. For an unknown reason, you let up on his windpipe.
Suddenly, you were sat on the gurney, your right leg in his left hand. You could not get out of his grip and you two stared at each while he held your legs apart. When he licked his lips was when you kicked him in the sternum. Clearly, he was surprised at the force, which caused him to double over, but he quickly recovered and caught you before you moved two feet, grabbing your bicep and bringing your arm behind your back, placing you none too gently against the wall.
You grunted as you felt all of him, including his manhood, pressed hard and insistent upon your back.
Was he going to violate you?
Did you want him to?
Yet another language flowed out of his mouth, which was close to the shell of your ear. You suppressed a shiver as you heard his velvet voice.
“Sygrayem v nashu malen'kuyu igru, kukolka?”
He snaked his left arm around your neck and pressed you back further into him as his gloved hand turned your face to his. He leaned around, as if he was going to kiss you, and opened his mouth. His breath fanned your face as he bared his teeth and bit the pointer finger of the black leather glove he was wearing. He used his mouth to tear the glove off to reveal a black and golden hand. You were mesmerized by it until it was quickly clamped over your mouth.
The sensation was familiar and when you tasted the metal; it was nearly orgasmic. Your eyes rolled baack into your head and you all but ignored the man’s other hand roaming your body.
“I’m just checking you to see if you’re okay, Doll.”
The hand tasted like home, like warm air and smells of your favorite foods. It tasted like beautiful people and excellence and safety and…Wakanda. Your eyes flew open when you realized.
Vibranium.
You sobbed as memories came flooding to your mind. The pathetic sounds were muffled by the vibranium hand.
Your mother. Your father. The river that was your home. Your weapons. Your money. The vow you took when you became a Dora Milaje and Shuri’s personal guard. The same vow that you broke when you fell in love with Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier…
“Farar kerkecina.…James…”
“Shhhh Doll. I’m here now.”
Bucky pulled you into his arms from behind, and you held on to the limbs that were wrapped around you as you cried, one human and one created by the Princess, Shuri.
Finally, you turned around and looked up at the love of your life. He peered back at you, eyes full of concern, but also a mixture of relief, love, and yes, need.
“Are you okay?”
You didn’t answer him, instead, you asked your own question.
“How long, James? How long have we been apart?”
Bucky brought his hand up to your face, thumb tracing your chin and fingers in your dense curls.
“A little over two years.”
You gasped and tears fell again fresh and new.
“I searched for you every day. I promise, Doll. And you’ve been right under my nose…”
Your heart melted.
“I know you did. The Power Broker is devious. She did horrible things. Made me do…”
And then he kissed you. His lips were the softest and strongest you’d ever tasted. You licked into his mouth and fisted his t shirt between you.
“You don’t have to tell me. I know. And I’m going to find her and bring her to justice.”
Bucky was panting as your hand strayed to touch the bare skin and the metal under his shirt. He smirked when you pinched his nipple.
“She is mine to destroy.”
Bucky’s smirk turned into a full fledged grin when you glared up at him and opened his pants. He shivered when you fisted him.
“There’s my girl.”
You separated from him as you pulled your shirt over your head. Next went your pants and underwear as Bucky’s eyes roamed your body. He licked his chops, just as the White Wolf would.
“You sure you don’t wanna leave, Doll? Need to check you out. Need to get you an examination… get you safe…”
You backed away from him toward the gurney.
“I need to have you James. Please. I remember. It’s been so long. I need some control back. Please.”
Bucky couldn’t stop himself from moving toward your upturned ass as you bent over the gurney and looked over your shoulder at him.
“You told me the serum heightened everything. But I didn’t understand before. I need you now, James.”
Bucky was drawn to you as if on a string.
“I get it, Doll. Everything is so much. You sure you alright, Doll?”
You hadn’t said that you were before, but you avoided the topic again.
“See for yourself, farar kerkecina.”
Bucky rubbed your ass, eyes glazed over, lust flowing through his veins. It had been a long 26 months and visions of you clouded not only his dreams, but every spare waking moment. He couldn’t help it.
His metal hand quickly undid his belt and pants while his right, his flesh, dipped into you, feeling the wetness between your legs. You reached back to the arm that shined, incrementally trying to bring him into you. He held you off, but he did slowly start to swipe his cockhead through your neglected folds.
“Oh…”
Bucky watched and drooled as he took in the vision of your mouth and that wide open, perfect O of those perfect lips.
“So gorgeous… Soyayya ta..”
He slowly breached your tight hole, and your mouth widened impossibly even more as the stretch almost took you out. It hurt, but it hurt so good, the only positive sensation you’d had in over two years.
This time, Bucky let you reach back to grasp the base of him, slowing down as he saw the difficulty with which you were having taking him. You adjusted his aim, and he paused, hand on your hip as you spread your cheeks so that he could get inside you. Your eyes met in surprised sensation as he was finally able to slide all the way home.
“Feel so damn good, White Wolf!”
You started moving faster on his cock as his hands slid up your wiast to your tits, squeezing, groping, making up for lost time.
He was stroking a slow, steady, deep pace, as his metal fingers made their way into your open mouth, pressing down your throat as your tongue swirled around your native metal.
“So goood….”
You were gagging around his fingers, partly because of his actions, and partly because he felt so good inside you. You reached back and grabbed his shirt, pulling on it as you took his thick cock inside you, looking back at him stretching your tiny hole with awe. You looked into each other’s eyes as you felt him swelling impossibly.
“Love your bald head, but I like this hair, Doll. I can do this…”
And Bucky grabbed your curls, pulling on your roots deliciously and stretching your neck so that he could engage you in a filthy kiss while he drove into you. You separated, gasping for breath.
“Bast! James, is your cock made of vibranium too?”
He laughed at the old joke, which made the rounds of the Dora until you found out the truth.
“You make me feel like it is, soyayya ta.”
Bucky let you go so that you could hold on to the gurney and fuck yourself on his cock.
He grabbed your breasts again and the look of surprised lust came was mirrored on both of your faces as you felt yourself squeezing him with your impending orgasm.
“C’mon, Soyayya ta. Give it to me.”
“James, oh James. Oh….!”
“Good god!”
You bent fully over the gurney when you came, and Bucky had a clear view of your beautiful cream on his cock. That’s when he started pounding you out properly, using you to reach his end. Your senses were so alive that you felt each stream and splash of his cum inside you, and it caused your sensitive cunt to shudder. You lay there under him as he collapsed on top of you, relishing the feel of him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck…”
Bucky kissed your shoulder and down your back as he looked around for something to clean up with. You looked back at him, and stood up, Bucky’s spend leaking down your legs.
“Let me.”
You gave him that look as you bent over, taking his still semi-hard cock in your hand. You stared at him straight on as you took him in your mouth and cleaned him off.
“That mouth, those eyes… you’re killing me here…”
You smiled around his girth and then opened your mouth to let him see the effects of your handiwork.
“On my life, Doll. I will never get enough of you.”
He pulled you up to standing and leaned down to give you a filthy kiss.
“So glad to have you back in my arms.”
Bucky turned around and leaned on the gurney as he held you. You leaned into him, tears pricking your eyes as you felt the same emotions, but knowing what you had to do.
“I love you, farar kerkecina…”
You gave him a tender kiss on the lips before you delivered a blow to his vagus nerve. Bucky went out immediately, and you gently laid him on the gurney before you got dressed again.
“I have to finish this with the Power Broker, and I know you will try to stop me.”
You tucked the underwear that you’d cleaned up with into his jeans pocket, trading them for the keys to this asylum.
“We will be together soon, my love.”
You gave him a kiss on his perfect lips before you quickly made your out of the hospital, on your way to kill Sharon Carter for making you the Summer Soldier and taking the child from your belly.
