Hypno-Fan!
It is time for me to do my annual review of HypnoCon. As with prior years, this is a very broad and generalized summery of what happened at HypnoCon for those unable to attend. I use the Discord name of the presenters.
Hypno-Fan!
Once again, I’m heading home from HypnoCon 2019, with a full heart and baggy eyes. I got little sleep so for the first leg of the flight, I crashed hard. I pity the poor woman who had to sit between Bill and myself. I’m sure she got stereophonic snoring. I always want to write this when everything is fresh in my mind.
Bill and I arrived Thursday morning in San Francisco. The gods on non-reservations smiled upon us. We made it to the hotel and stored our bags. We grabbed lunch, did a little sight-seeing and waited for the arrival of the other attendees. Everyone started arriving at the hotel in the afternoon. We looked at the hotel’s fantastic conference room. Our rooms were a bit on the small side, but we were there for HypnoCon, not sleeping! The room that became the hospitality suite shared the same smallness as our hotel room. We pushed aside as much of the furniture as we could to make room, borrowed a few chairs and adapted. Thursday, happened to be my husband’s birthday, so our friends joined us at “The Stinking Rose” to celebrate. I really enjoyed the meatloaf. Bill got to wear the garlic hat as we sang “Happy Birthday” to him, and we sang it well. What do you expect from a bunch of gay men besides perfect harmony? Bill’s night was made when this drunk woman stumbled out of her Uber into him. She asked for forgiveness as she knew she was drunk, but it was her birthday. Well, it was Bill’s birthday too! I have the photo of the two. Afterwards, we enjoyed a few drinks at the oldest bar in San Francisco. It’s so old that nobody knows its name! We headed back to the hotel room, met a few more arrivals and more hugs and kisses.
Friday arrived, and the gathering began at 5:00 PM with registration and the meet and greet. We had a lot of new people there. We lacked a lot of time to greet because we scrambled to get dinner before Brizy of the Brizy Comics Patreon’s stage hypnosis show. At 8:00 PM, HypnoCon enjoyed it first stage hypnosis show. Brizy got six volunteers for his first part of the show which included some of his bits that you might have seen in his YouTube videos. Everyone enjoyed Brizy stories and his careful and expert handling of the volunteers. One particularly funny bit was Briz made himself invisible to the people on the stage. He grabbed this adorable teddy bear and started moving him around. The volunteers showed reaction from amusement to fear. Briz made the bear crawl around on the subjects. The bear became a possessed bear and flew around the room. The volunteers displayed fear until Briz snapped his fingers and made himself reappear. He gave the bear to one of the volunteers. After a brief break, Briz started the second half of the show. A larger different set of volunteers came on stage to be hypnotized for a more adult themed show. That ended Friday.
Saturday was the more structured and informational part of HypnoCon. Registration opened and already, we saw we had a large turnout. Uncle Drew demonstrated the basics of hypnosis with a standard hypnosis session between him and a volunteer. I followed with an example of an erotic hypnosis session. So many subjects agreed to be part of the experience that I needed help stroking the hands of the subject to feel pleasure. Uncle Drew retuned to the front to demonstrate using hypnosis in puppy play. Rickthetist followed with a demonstration of using hypnosis in bondage. While he hypnotized one volunteer on the stage, he phrased his suggestions to allow people listening to the demonstration to experience being bound to the chair they sat. Next, we took the annual “Wish You Were Here” photo and went to lunch. We came back and Master Shack lead a discussion of creating a safe space when using hypnosis. I followed with being a better hypnotist. GoingDeep gave an excellent talk on being a better subject. BullBoy taught the group about power exchanges from both the Master’s side and sub’s side. Briz shared his views on fetishes and kink. Rickthetist hypnotized a couple of people to humiliate them. I received some feedback from the day, and we ended the lecture/demonstration of the day. Dinner took us to the Delancey Street Restaurant for the Saturday Dinner.
Sunday morning, we had a brief demonstration of new technology used for hypnosis from GoingDeep. Samhypnosis gave us a preliminary report on an academic study on hypnosis fetish. Some ideas to work for HypnoCon 2020, which will be in DALLAS!! HAHA Just Kidding! It’s in Vancouver, British Columbia.
So, what is Hypno-Fan? In the small hospitality suite (more like a hospitality closet), the ceiling had a very artistic fan. The fan’s blade curved outward suggesting a spiral pattern. Most everyone believed it made a fine hypnosis spiral. Take a look: https://www.wayfair.com/lighting/pdp/fanimation-52-torto-3-blade-ceiling-fan-kw2907.html
A cheaper version. . . (Totally, tongue-in-cheek)

This is also open on our Discord server, however, that avenue is only available for members of that server.
I want to thank my fellow members of the HypnoCon 2019 Committee – Uncle Drew, GoingDeep, and FlanelBear.
My sincerest thanks to the presenters: Brizy, RicktheTist, BullBoy, Master Shack, and Samhypnosis! HypnoCon 2019 would not have happened without you!

Bob DiTomaso’s 1948 Chevy Pickup has the Perfect Vibe
If you dig deep into your memories you still might be able to hear the adrenalin-fueled announcer from your favorite racetrack as he addressed the crowd to get them ready for a wild night of hop-ups preparing to do battle on the asphalt. Regardless of where you lived during the ’50 and ’60s, one thing for sure is that the combination of high-performance engineering, race fuel, and burnt rubber kept you coming back for more every time they were in town. Couple that with the weekend’s heavy cruising on the strip and late night street racing and it made you wish Saturday was every day.
For Bob DiTomaso of Saugus, Massachusetts, growing up just outside of Boston certainly had its perks, especially when it came to getting into the horsepower game. It didn’t take long for him to start building and modifying kit models at the kitchen table where he would try to emulate many of the hot rods and customs he would see in town. Thanks to his older brother, Buddy, he was able to join in with an older crowd who already had a share of cool cars being worked on in countless local driveways. By the time he was 14 he took occasional trips with them to the legendary Pines Speedway in Groveland to watch midgets and jalopies tear around the quarter-mile asphalt oval. He saw plenty through the windshield of Buddy’s 1956 Merc and eventually bought his first 1955 Chevy 210 to earn his own place on the strip.
As the years passed Bob got hooked on drag racing, crewing for good friend Jimmy Smith who was a regular racer with his 1957 Chevy at both Sanford Dragway and New England Dragway. He continued to cruise the local strip, frequenting places like Howard Johnson’s and Jolly Jorge’s on Route 1, which was a hotbed of street racing as well as hanging out at the Adventure Car-Hop where he eventually met his soon-to-be wife, Dottie, who worked there as a car-hop. Bob’s fascination with Chevy muscle continued, owning a few more Tri-Fives as well as a hot Chevelle. Over the years Bob became enamored with the design elements of Chevy trucks from the ’40s-’50s, and finally made a decision to start a search for a suitable base to start a custom build. His quest led him to an online auction where some heated bidding on a 1948 Chevy caught his attention. From what he could see from the posted images, the truck was all original and in running condition. He posted his final offer as the auction was ending and actually won the truck. When it was delivered weeks later during the middle of a snowstorm it had three flat tires and looked like it had seen far better days. It was time to get busy and map out a plan to recreate the truck with plenty of neat, ’60s-era styling.
Having seen some of the amazing work of local car builder Derek Karpenko of Karpenko Kustomz in nearby Ipswich, Massachusetts, he scheduled a meeting to discuss the project. While Karpenko evaluated the truck, Bob explained his vision for it and the pair agreed that the style and designs would make for a bitchin final product. The truck was delivered to Karpenko who immediately tore it down to bare bones to begin the build. To get started, the original chassis was jettisoned since decades of abuse had taken a toll on it. A call was placed to TCI Engineering for one of their complete new IFS chassis, featuring 8-inch-tall fully boxed framerails and custom center crossmember for added strength. Out back a Currie 9-inch rear packs Moser Engineering 31-spline axles coupled to 3.50:1 gears to spin the tires. It’s suspended in place by an adjustable custom four-link to set the stance with matching antiroll bar and RideTech coilover shocks. To get the nose in the dirt, a TCI Engineering IFS features their heavy-duty tubular upper and lower control arms linked to custom-designed 2-inch dropped spindles combined with RideTech coilover shocks and antisway bar. To bring it all to a halt a Corvette-style dual master pumps juice through steel lines to Ford drums out back and 11-inch vented discs with big-bore calipers up front. Wheels always make a statement and the truck hits a home run thanks to a set of 15-inch chrome artillery wheels from the Wheelsmith, wearing wide whites from BFGoodrich/Coker for a classic look.
Remembering back to his years spent at the dragstrip, nothing said “I’m here to party” better than a big-block V-8. To handle the task, Bob contacted Chevrolet Performance for one of their sizzling hot ZZ454ci Crate engines. Packed with a speed shop full of go-fast goods, it starts with a fresh block packed with a forged steel crank and rods linked to forged aluminum pistons getting a heavy thump from a hydraulic roller cam. A set of high-flow oval-port aluminum heads with 110cc combustion chambers and 9.6:1 compression make loads of seamless power, especially when combined with a Holley Street Avenger 770-cfm carb. Cool engine details include a March Performance serpentine belt system and Billet Specialties air cleaner. It all comes to life thought a GM HEI ignition with spent gases flowing through Street & Performance headers to a custom 2-inch stainless exhaust and Flowmaster 50-Series mufflers. A GM 700-R4 trans massaged by John Batakis of Middleton moves the power rearward though a custom steel driveshaft from North Shore Axle & Machine.
When it came time to addressing the tired, factory sheetmetal, Derek got started by first blasting everything clean to check out firsthand what would need attention. He then continued on by replacing the cab corners, rockers, door bottoms, and front floorpans. Since the original bed was a mess, a fresh bed and tailgate came from LMC Truck with Bed Wood & Parts supplying their wicked bamboo wood bed floor with stainless steel strips. It was then time to get started on the custom work that would separate the truck from the rest. Starting with a fresh firewall from Absolute Sheet Metal he then shaved the body, added smooth running boards, custom rear roll pan, wheeltubs, and custom-contoured and narrowed Briz-style front bumper. From there Kelsey Martin added frenched Watson’s StreetWorks headlights, Jamie Piraino frenched in 1959 Cadillac taillights and Roy Idman worked his magic louvering the hood, tailgate, and side splash aprons. Derek then metal-finished the body while also setting all the gaps. To bring it all to life he loaded his spray gun with Spies Hecker jet black gloss and laid down the vibe.
To create plenty of classic good looks to the interior the factory dash was filled with dials from Classic Instruments to keep an eye on the vitals while an ididit tilt column supports a 1940 Ford steering wheel and shifts move though a unit from Lokar. Vintage Air flows plenty of cool breezes while tunes zip though a Kenwood head unit, and an American Autowire harness ties it all together. Wanting to give the truck a signature look, Bob went to Kustom Kreations of North Reading, Massachusetts, to layout a winning combination of black leather over a Glide Engineering split-bench in a contemporary pleat style, accented by matching custom door and side panels, console, and headliner with black Mercedes square-weave carpeting. This is a wicked Chevy hauler that draws attention wherever it goes, and we’re sure Bob and Dottie will lay down plenty of miles with it!

Week 5 - Aesthetics part 1Â
As an artist within your field you will likely be called up to create work in a specific style. This style may be one that you adopt depending on the client or it might be your own that you have refined and mastered over the years.Â
Compositing in BlenderÂ
Blender has its own node based compositor. This allows you to do post-processing on your rendered scene without leaving Blender. The benefit of doing it via this method is familiarity with the interface and being able to apply effects onto different parts of the 3D scene. For example, a blur could be added that only affects objects at a certain distance or of a certain colour. Blender Guru Introduction to Blender's Compositor - https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=fWcCkQ3943Y a long video but useful to cover the compositor's featuresÂ
Rihanna and remix culture
In 2012 Riahnna used Seapunk aesthetics in a performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LT23ixDaJo People within that community felt that she had appropriated, or "culture-jacked" their aesthetic. In response to this Nick Briz green-screened her performance and gave it to people to remix in their own aesthetic. The results can be seen here: http://nickbriz.com/diamonds/Â
Task: Remix RihannaÂ
Using the green screen version of Diamonds create your own remix using Blender and/or any tools are available to you. Adopt the style of your favourite artist/film maker/video or use your own style.Â

DRIZ INFO DUMP!!
What she actually is- is definitely more correlated to demons and more so witchcraft and the dark arts.
She parades around in a human form mainly while in broad daylight or crowded places, and you can definitely see the inspo on her design with Crowley and the glasses as well as hair(though one could argue thats actually my own influence given my dyed red hair).
Her Powers Include:
-Immortality
-Demonic Contract Bestowal
-Demonic/Wicked Miracles
-Curse/Arcane Inducement
-Dark Art Manipulation
-Soul collecting(Doesn’t personally like doing it- but ya do what ya gotta do)
Demonic Element Manipulation:
-Hell-Fire Manipulation
-Soul binding chains
-Demonic Arcane Spells/Rituals/Occults.
Other Powers:
-Possession
-Mental Manipulation:fear Inducement, nightmare manipulation
-Sin manipulation/Sin Encouragement “Tempting”
-Transmutation
-And much much more.
She is sent about to the surface and is meant to procure souls and promote sin- On the side however she’s actually a detective who works for Hell and other ethereal beings in order to figure out cases. Often getting in scraps and trouble along the way.
She uses the dark arts as well as her own powers to get through cases and solve em!
Weaknesses to her include the following:
-Holy Water
-Holy Aversion
-Exorcism
-Salt (She hates Salt Circles..)
-Angelic Beings using holy arcana
personality: She’s very mischievous and is quite sarcastic in some senses. She can be a tad hotheaded at times but prefers to keep herself leveled and chill.
At her heart, she’s quite a sweetheart and will often be compassionate and empathetic in some senses-(She doesn’t like people pointing that out).
Bonus Info:
-She’s a huge fan of sweet things, especially sweet cocktails. So the best way to win her over is usually by giving her either sweets(Go for Lollipops, she likes those a lot.) or a cocktail that might send a human to the hospital from the sugar content.
-She’s right around 5’9 in height and usually sports heels or combat boots in her outfits. She also usually wears an oversized jacket, leather/flowy black pants, and a black too that is either sleeveless or is skintight(I’ll draw that up soon.)
-She has different variations of sunglasses, though the lenses are tinted purple or black a lot of the time.
-She isn’t fond of spiders..
-Lastly- It’s a given fact she’s immortal and hates it.
