Day fourteen of posting my photography! 📷

This was a lovely piece of woodland in the autumn whilst I was on holiday in Exmoor National park, it was somewhere between Luccombe and Horner!

As you can see, the colours were just gorgeous and everything was glowing gold in the sunlight ☀️

Check out these vibrant Gliophorus psittacinus mushrooms sprouting from the earthy bed of a British Columbia forest. Their whimsical shapes and colors seem like little treasures hidden amidst the forest floor.

European Robin Erithacus rubecula by Adam Swaine Via Flickr: The robin is considered the UK's national bird. It was voted the most popular bird in a 2015 poll of over 200,000 people, and me2... Found in a wide range of wooded habitats, including forests, gardens, hedges in farmland, and heathland, usually fairly near cover. Hops perkily on the ground, pausing to look around, often flicking its wings and cocking its tail. Also feeds by dropping to the ground from low perches, snatching up prey and flying back up to a shady perch.

Soldiers in woodland near Ypres marching along 'Regent Street', 1915

This was drawn by Matania whilst on a visit to the front line in 1915 and was accompanied by a further written report from the artist in the same issue. The scene depicts relief soldiers marching through 'Plug Street' or Ploegsteert Woods 8 miles from Ypres on the 'Regent Street' back to the front line trenches. Many of the main thoroughfares and trench links were given nicknames such as 'Regent Street', 'Rotten Row', 'Warrington Road' and 'Hellfire Corner'. The nicknames were painted on wooden signs which were hung for reference as can be seen clearly in this illustration with the sign board nailed to a tree.
