“The NME had Anthony Thornton there to write about it and (photographer) Roger Sargent to take what would be the cover of the following day’s NME.”

Just before the gig, Roger also took the now ionic picture of Peter and Carl that would become the cover of their eponymously named second album – an album that would cement their place as one of the biggest and most influential UK band’s of the new century.

6.11.1995 Queen released the 15th and last studio album "Made In Heaven" with the voice of Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991. It is noteworthy that the song "A Winter's Tale" was the last song written by Mercury, and "Mother Love" was the last recording of his vocals. Freddy's alive!

This week, July 21st 1984, Status Quo played their 'final' show at Milton Keynes Bowl to an audience of 50 000, although they would reform for Live Aid and then continue to record and tour with some lineup changes, to the present day.

It appears that this current tour (2024), featuring Francis Rossi and Andy Bown from the 1984 lineup, really will be their last...
