beautifully curated ...
On view until February 25th, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the i3c Group Artists Exhibit, Inspiring Change for the Climate Crisis, at Brickbottom Gallery Somerville. A truly inspiring exhibit. During the opening reception my favorite part, aside from connecting and reconnecting with artist friends, was watching children engage with the range of media, from fiber arts to photography to…

#ICYMI: The Somerville Community Summit Video is available—link in bio! . . Over the last couple of decades, Somerville has started turning into what media researchers call a “news desert”—a municipality lacking enough news outlets to properly cover all relevant political, social, and cultural developments. To improve Somerville news coverage, DigBoston newspaper in association with the Somerville Media Center, The Welcome Project, Community Action Agency of Somerville, Mystic Tenants Association, Enfome Inc., Somerville Homeless Coalition, Winter Hill Neighborhood Association, Gilman Square Neighborhood Association, Scout Somerville, New England Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, Artisan's Asylum, Vernon Street Studios, Brickbottom Artists Association, Washington Street gallery and studios, Nave Gallery, Theatre@First, Post-Meridian Radio Players, Groundwork Somerville, Climate Coalition of Somerville, Tufts Housing League, and the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism organized a Somerville Community Summit on Saturday, February 16 from 12 noon to 2pm at ONCE Ballroom (156 Highland Ave). The event aimed to bring area journalists together with Somerville residents to discuss issues and happenings that need coverage by local news media. Please share this around. https://ift.tt/2EN3YYC

The event is aimed at bringing area journalists together with Somerville residents to discuss issues and happenings that need coverage by local news media. The convening media organizations will give a brief presentation to explain the background of the event, review some ground rules for a fruitful conversation, and then open up the floor. Our hope is that the summit will result in a wave of news articles and videos about Somerville—and the formation of lasting relationships between journalists and residents. Save the date, and spread the word! #somervillema #communitysummit #news #localnews #communitybuilding #localissues #newsdesert #localcoverage http://bit.ly/2Dt3qoJ

Each shares work — from paintings to sculpture to video — that is quite different and yet the whole comes together quite cohesively. Each artist telling a different story. Kudos to curator Lois Fiore for her vision.…
