The blonde avoids his look as her hands slide down the lapels of his black suit. He smiles down at her and can see that there is a smile on her face too.

Caroline returns to the mirror in the foyer and runs her fidgeting fingers across her black strapless mini diamond embellished dress that she has matched with silver heels. She has a black jacket and a diamond ball clutch. "I need to change."

Conrad reaches out for her wrist before she can leave the little ingrove that has the mirror and two benches and a vase. His thumb runs over her wrist he looks into her eyes and can see she is stressed. "You look Beautiful. You've already changed three times. Talk to me."

She glances down at his thumb, it's soothing her, she looks up at him and those green eyes she takes a breath and nods. "It's the first public event we've been to since my forced engagement announcement. Giuseppe is going to be pissed that your my date, the board is going to be pissed because of my outfit. I don't know if Satan's mistress is going to be there. I'm not only going because I'm CEO I'm going to support my guys. I'm so proud of Brad and his commercial, Zero and his billboard that is going up worldwide and Brett's magazine cover."

"You should be proud but Giuseppe is overshadowing your happiness." He has both her hands in his and both his thumbs are brushing over her wrists. She nods and he brings both hands up to his lips. He smiles into the kiss he leaves and she can't help but smile too the worry leaving her.

"Untangle love birds."Damon finally comes down the stairs usually they are waiting for Caroline to finish. He is buttoning his suit jacket.

"We were just talking."

Damon glances over his shoulder as he goes to open the door. "It's never just taking with you two." As opens the door there are two people dressed in black, the guy puts his hand down, he was just about to knock. "Can I help you?"

Ted Lasso season 4, huh.

When a friend messaged me about the news, we shared a good eyeroll at the announcement itself. Look at this article from Deadline - Warner Bros has picked up options for THREE of the British actors who were series regulars - Hannah, Brett, and Jeremy. And then you have Forbes chatting about how Phil's option was probably not picked up because of scheduling conflicts. And then both articles talk about how the rest of the cast is American and so represented by SAG-AFTRA and will need separate options.

Guess who is the ONLY actor who is British, was a series regular right from season one, and has not been named in any article, much less had an option picked up of? Go on, take a wild guess.

Yeah, so apparently Nick Mohammed doesn't count to any of these people as a main cast.

And this is to say nothing about other actors of colour who are probably represented by the Brit actors union Equity - Toheeb, Kola, Mo.

So, you know, I am starting out as a giant ball of hatred towards the putrid racism of Ted Lasso even before season 4 has been officially greenlit.

Let's see how I feel in 2025, if it is actually made and releases. I may watch it out of disdain, but unless Nathan Shelley gets the triumphant arc he deserves, I will not be remotely fannish about it.

Insane off the wall theory time:

I get with the strikes and time jump they had to do, it's going to mess with some storylines, but Sylvie being this unprepared for her wedding seems extremely odd. Stressing about it being perfect for them, and only them, totally makes sense. Forgetting to ask Violet to be her MOH? Not so much.

Andrea did an interview, with Forbes I believe, about this season being about Brett expanding her family....what if this is baby brain?

With her leaving soon, they can easily write in a pregnancy and not have it mess up storylines like it would if she was staying, and her giving up her job (from what it sounds like) would make a little more sense. Plus, it sounds like she's struggling balancing work and Julia, if having Julia spend a few days at 51 in episode 4 is any indication.

I've been wrong about every other theory I've had, besides her saying yes, so feel free to ignore this.

DISTRIBUTOR: Shudder

SYNOPSIS: William Brown is a neurotic, self-absorbed musician determined to finish his prog-rock magnum opus while working as an engineer at a recording studio. He currently faces a creative roadblock, a noisy and grotesque neighbor named Vlad. Finally working up the nerve to confront Vlad to keep it down, William inadvertently decapitates him. But, while attempting to cover up one murder, William’s accidental reign of terror causes victims to pile up and become undead corpses who torment and create more bloody detours on his road to prog-rock Valhalla. In addition, it is causing havoc on his relationship with his girlfriend.

REVIEW: Filmmaker Josh Forbes takes his skills as a director of music videos to serve up an old school horror film with one of the legendary special effects makeup designers, Gabe Bartalos (Basket Case 2/Frankenhooker/Leprechaun). DESTROY ALL NEIGHBORS is a wicked goopy comedy overflowing with practical effects and buckets of blood.

The plot is your basic tale of a stress filled and frustrated aspiring musician who is on his last nerve. A series of events culminates with his new bizarre neighbor moving in and pushing him over the edge. Confronting his neighbor Vlad is the first in a series of unfortunate events that is filled with death and mayhem. There is a quality to the narrative that feels reminiscent of 1985’s “Return of the Living Dead.” The story nicely focuses on William and his spiral out of control. To some degree it feels like a journey to an insane Oz.

The narrative is magically brought to life by a fantastic cast. Jonah Ray Rodrigues’ William is a blend of Joel from “Mystery Science Theater 3000” as he channels a bit of Bruce Campbell. He brings a lot of energy to the performance and seamlessly switches between mental states that showcases a classic mastery of slapstick. Adding his dynamic energy to the film is actor Alex Winter as Vlad. Best known for his role in “The Lost Boys” and the “Bill & Ted” film franchise, the great prosthetic makeup design permits him to create a unique performance. The rest of the cast is an amalgamation of talented actors that deliver unique performances that add to the horror and comedy.

DESTROY ALL NEIGHBORS has a classic look and feel, largely due to the practical effects and special effects makeup. The cinematography, framing, editing and lighting all harken back to the best of the 80’s franchise genre films.There were numerous moments where I found myself nodding my head and uttering “nice” at sequences and gags. Clearly they went through buckets of blood on this shoot. Ryan Kattner & Brett Morris’ score and music for the film nicely adds atmosphere, accentuates the mayhem and gore, and adds this fun take on Wliiam’s musical dreams. FYI, the official motion picture soundtrack will be available digitally worldwide on all digital platforms January 12th, including Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Bandcamp and SubPop.com.

Start 2024 the fright way with an instant genre classic, DESTROY ALL NEIGHBORS. It's a dandy of a gorefest thanks to esteemed special effects artist Gabe Bartalos. Jonah Ray Rodrigues and Alex Winter are among the noteworthy cast members, along with a monstrous score that make this an exceptional viewing experience. I’ve been working on a couple fics lately, and since I haven’t uploaded in over a month I thought I would drop some snips of what I’ve been working on. @tedrakitty

First up the next two chapters of battle of Royalty here is a snip of the next one to come out: @karinanic

Caroline awakes and smiles when she feels Conrad’s arm on her. She snuggles into his chest for a couple minutes before she sits up in bed. She stretches and as she is coming out of the bathroom after a shower she goes over to the closet. Not noticing the glass doors with the curtains open.

As she is closing the closet door she finally looks outside and her eyes widen her mouth even drops. She quietly says. “Son of a bitch.”

“Kat wake up we have a problem.”

Katherine rolls over rubbing the sleep from her eyes she sleepily asks. “What’s wrong?”

“Look out the window.” Like with Caroline’s comforter it is personalized. Where as Caroline’s is Chanel Katherine’s is black and white striped with pink shoes and a pink purse over the books that say couture must have love elegance and luxury. There’s also matching pillows. “Son of a bitch.”

The rave is taking place inside an abandoned firehouse. The dj spots this very hot and very handsome guy in the crowd. He gesture for the guy to come up to the booth but he shakes his head and continues dancing. A couple minutes later a hand wraps around his thin waist and lips are on his neck. The very hot and very handsome guy is Harlan and he leans back into the toned and chiseled body of his boyfriend Brett and a hand snakes around his neck and into Brett’s short hair. Both guys ooze sex appeal and are extremely hot. Brett is six foot 2 buzz cut with shaggy jet black hair on top while Harlan is six foot with messy shaggy brunette hair.

As the two are leaving the main room to find somewhere to be alone, Harlan stops. “What’s wrong?”

“Someone is dead here?”

Brett raises an eyebrow he knows Harlan has enhanced hearing he always has. How would he know if someone is dead. “Someone died?”

Harlan looks around the dance floor and since they are still holding hands Harlan closes his eyes. “Listen.”

Brett can hear what Harlan hears, it’s rare for wolves to share their abilities with other wolves. Harlan and Brett are not only boyfriends but they were born wolves and when they started dating they became a pack. Harlan can share his hearing and Brett can share his rapid healing.

“There’s another species here.”

“Do you want to go find it?”

Harlan shakes his head this rave only happens once a month. This party is full of high school students chances are whatever the thing is will be at school tomorrow.

Harlan is pushed up against a wall and Brett cups his face as they kiss. Harlan’s hands gliding over the muscles under the grey long sleeve shirt, while Harlan only has a black tank top on and jeans Brett is in jeans and Henley.

Dane and Luke nod. Andreas flicks his hand and the hoods come off Sky, Riven and Musa’s heads while Luke cuts the zip ties around their wrists. Riven looks over at Musa who looks at him and nods. He goes to come closer to her but Dane stops him. “You punched her I want to see if she’s ok.”

That catches Sky’s attention he was already gone by the time. “You punched her?” Sky goes to walk forward and Luke stops him but he pushes past him and Riven has already pushed past Dane.

Dane grabs a hold of Riven and punches him. Sky and Riven both start fighting Dane and Luke. Musa sighs and gets a punch in on Dane. Andreas whistles and that gets everyone’s attention. Dane clears his throat. “I’m sorry sir I let my emotions get in the way.”

“Don’t let it happen again.”

Dane nods. As Andreas looks at the three new faces in his garage full of cars. “You stole from me.”

Riven goes to do the bad accent again and Musa elbows him and shakes her head.

As they are walking through the halls they stop at the game room which has Peter, and Kurt playing foosball. “Your cheating.”

“I am not your cheating.”

Kurt is using his tail to reach some handles while Peter is using his quickness to reach all the handles.

“Wanda Maximoff meet my son Peter Maximoff. Im sure you have a lot to talk about I’m going to find Charles.”

Peter’s jaw drops and Kurt is in the middle of the game he actually scores but is to shocked so he doesn’t even notice. “I didn’t know you had a sister.”

“I have two but they are five.” Peter takes in Wanda who is this woman with his last name but he’s never met her. “Your last name is Maximoff?”

“Yes and your name is Peter not Pietro.”

Peter chuckles. “Pietro what kind of fancy name is Pietro?”

Wanda looks over Peter he looks similar to her Pietro, they both have the same last name and Erik is his father. Her power is genetic but neither of her parents were like her or Pietro. Could it be even though it’s a stretch and doesn’t make sense but really when has something made sense since concerning her.

Erik comes back and looks between the two Maximoff’s he doesn’t need Charles abilities to read minds to know that this is awkward. Wanda turns back towards him and he is with a bald guy in a technical advanced wheelchair. “Are you my father?”

What Is the ‘J. Lo Effect’? It’s hard to define but easy to identify.

While fans of the Netflix reality show “Selling Sunset” await a new season of luxury Los Angeles real estate and interpersonal conflict, there’s been plenty to watch on social media: wedding plans, pregnancies, European vacations and budding relationships.

Just last week, one of the “Selling Sunset” stars, Chrishell Stause, revealed on Instagram that she is dating Jason Oppenheim, who, with his twin brother, Brett, owns the high-end brokerage where she is an agent. Ms. Stause captioned the post, which featured several pictures from a cast trip to Capri, Italy: “The JLo effect. 🤷🏻‍♀️”

The caption seemed to be a reference to Jennifer Lopez’s own recent carousel of vacation photos, the final one showing Ms. Lopez kissing Ben Affleck. But the phrase predates that post by at least a decade.

So … What does it mean?

The J. Lo effect is hard to define but easy to identify. Generally speaking, it refers to the ways in which Ms. Lopez, 52, defies most every human standard (beauty, success, age, flexibility, relevance, you name it). The expression has been invoked at various points in her career, often to express awe.

When, at age 41, she persuaded “American Idol” producers to pay her about $12 million to replace Simon Cowell, setting off a gold rush of big-name judges demanding similar paydays? “Call it the J. Lo effect,” The Hollywood Reporter proclaimed.

When she booked a Las Vegas residency at 46, yet avoided a downward slope on the fame parabola? “The J. Lo Effect,” read the Las Vegas Weekly headline.

When she obliterated the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show at 50? “The total J. Lo Effect was kind of mesmerizing,” The New York Times’s fashion critic Vanessa Friedman wrote.

Andrea McDonnell, an associate professor of communication at Providence College whose work examines celebrity gossip, said that Ms. Stause’s reference to Ms. Lopez “seems to speak to her ability to set trends, especially on social media.”

“It’s not that social media relationship announcements weren’t happening pre-Bennifer,” Ms. McDonnell clarified. “It’s more that J. Lo is such a cultural figure that we can pin other occurrences to her posts and compare them.”

But Ms. Stause’s usage also hints at a new connotation — one that refers to Ms. Lopez’s appearance-boosting effect on the men she dates.

A representative for Ms. Stause did not respond to an email requesting comment about what, precisely, she meant in her Instagram caption. Representatives for Ms. Lopez also did not reply to emailed questions about whether she watches “Selling Sunset” or is aware her name is now being invoked in a male-hotness-multiplier context.

As it turns out, there’s a scientific name for the phenomenon of females expressing greater interest in males who already have a partner — particularly a very attractive one — in both animals and humans: mate copying.

“The idea is that he must have a lot to offer in order to be dating someone who is such a catch,” said Jean Fitzpatrick, a relationship therapist in Manhattan.

Ryan C. Anderson, a researcher at Monash University in Australia who wrote a dissertation on mate copying, said the glow-up interpretation of the J. Lo effect sounded “a lot like the phenomenon.”

“By virtue of being in a relationship with a highly desirable woman, a man is conveying that he has at least some desirable traits,” Mr. Anderson said.

“It would be kind of like LeBron James endorsing a pair of basketball shoes,” he added.

Men attaching themselves to beautiful women to bask in their glow is nothing new, Ms. McDonnell said.

But Ms. Lopez is different because she is at least as powerful as Mr. Affleck, if not more so, in terms of cultural and economic capital; she is worth an estimated $400 million and is the 56th highest paid celebrity in the world, according to Forbes. And it was Ms. Lopez, with her 168 million Instagram followers compared with Mr. Affleck’s five million, who posted the big relationship reveal.

“So she’s the one putting her romance out there and having agency over her self-presentation,” Ms. McDonnell said. “Though Affleck may of course benefit from it.”

As for Ms. Stause and Mr. Oppenheim? The correlation is murkier, Ms. McDonnell said, because Mr. Oppenheim is her boss.

As the deadline for Americans to file federal income tax returns fast approaches, Oxfam America on Friday renewed calls for taxing the ultrarich while publishing an analysis showing America's growing number of billionaires saw their wealth increase by nearly one-third since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and by nearly 90% over the past decade.

"Wealth inequality in the U.S. is more extreme and dangerous than income inequality; and we need to change our approach, so we effectively tax wealth as well as income," the charity said in an introduction to the report, Tax Wealth, Tackle Inequality.

Based on Forbes data, the report found that "U.S. billionaires are almost a third richer (over a trillion dollars, in real terms) than they were at the onset of the pandemic in 2020," while overall U.S. billionaire wealth has soared 86% since 2013.

The number of U.S. billionaires—of which there are now more than 700—is also nearly 60% higher than it was a decade ago, according to the analysis.

Oxfam urges Congress and the Biden administration to enact legislation like Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D-Mass.) Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act, which would impose a 2% annual tax on the net worth of households and trusts exceeding $50 million, plus a 1% annual surtax on billionaires.

According to an analysis by University of California, Berkeley economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman, the tax would bring in at least $3 trillion in revenue over 10 years without raising taxes on 99.95% of American households worth less than $50 million.

Citing figures from the Institute for Policy Studies and Patriotic Millionaires, Oxfam's analysis showed that:

The wealth tax proposed by Sen. Warren, based on taxing U.S. billionaires alone, would raise $114 billion annually—more than enough to pay for reinstating the Child Tax Credit; An annual net wealth tax could raise over half a trillion dollars ($582.6 billion) each year, by taxing more than only billionaires and using marginally higher rates: 2% for wealth above $5 million, 3% above $50 million, and 5% above $1 billion; and If there had been a net wealth tax of 6.9% since 2013, it would have kept billionaire wealth simply constant.

"Tax Day is a reminder that the tax system isn't working for ordinary Americans. It's built to favor the richest in our society," said Nabil Ahmed, Oxfam America's director of economic justice. "The ultrawealthy are sitting on mountains of wealth that remain largely untouched by taxes, and their wild riches are in no small part a result of intentional public policy."
