Fic Recs #2
(boosting overlooked fics, which deserve some attention), (part 1)
1) Nomina nuda tenemus by naivesilver
A well-written one shot about a female Thorin III Stonehelm and the consequences of Thorin Oakenshield's life and actions on his namesake. I enjoyed it very much, because I liked the portrayal of the Stonehelm and I've read plenty of fics with people named after someone, but not a lot of fics dealing with the impact on the (younger) namesake, which was very interesting to me.
2) Timshel by grav_ity
As some of you may know, I love Dwalin. And, as it turns out, I also loves rarepairs and here we have one: Dís x Dwalin, with focus on Dís' sons, their paternity and love trying to fit into the rigid structures of royalty. Well-written, touching and something new.
3) Warmth by Moonraykir
An adorable one-shot about a cold Tauriel cuddling up to the wrong brother, but turns out, he doesn't mind. Kíli x Tauriel and Fíli & Tauriel. It's cute and I just love platonic cuddling and bed sharing.
This is it for today. I shall return with more recs in the future.
Short reminder: with #BoostTheHobbitFics we have an own tag for boosting overlooked The Hobbit fics. Except for my own posts, there's not anything there yet, but maybe you have a hidden gem or two in your bookmarks on ao3 and would like to post a few recs of your own :)

Recs for The Hobbit fics (which could use some more notes, since they are excellent)
The Lay of Dwalin the Dwarf by Glorfindel (Zana)
The Lay of Dwalin the Dwarf is a series containing multiple fics, about the relationship between Bofur and Dwalin. Dwalin is trans in this story, which is frowned upon in Dwarven society and thus must remain a secret.
Why do I recommend this fic series? It is splendidly written and the author's characterization of the Dwarven society is fascinating. It doesn't only deal with the relationship of the two main characters, there are several other interesting storylines, great OCs, and also Dís is very unique and absolutely incredible in this fic.
There is also another part, which is still in work.
And there's a storm in every bottle of wine by lloydsglasses
'And there's a storm in every bottle of wine' is a series about Thorin as a trans woman, focussing on the way she realizes and deals with it, while at the same time being the steadfast "King" of Erebor.
Why do I reccomend this fic series? It is beautifully written, bittersweet, and centres upon the friendship between Thorin and Dwalin, and the queerplatonic relationship between Thorin and Bilbo. And as a trans person: this story hits home, in so many ways.
I am exact and merciless, but I love you by khazadqueen (ama)
Summary: As he lies dying, Dwalin hears… something. (Thorin x Dwalin)
Why do I recommend this fic? What can I say, I cried like a bitch. It's beautiful and bittersweet and touching and everything, despite being a short one shot.

That's it for now. I will return with more, if you would like me to. :)

Hello!
About a week ago I posted this. Participation wasn't that big, but some people voted and 93.8% liked the idea of boosting overlooked The Hobbit fics.
So, I propose we use this tag: #BoostTheHobbitFics
And I would suggest a format similar to this:
TITLE by AUTHOR (add links) What is the fic about What did I like about the fic/why I would like to recommend it LINK to this post
(though you can obviously do it in whatever way you want to, this is just an idea)
What counts as overlooked? I am not a big fan of strict rules, but I think it is fair to say that a fic with more than 500 notes/kudos is probably not overlooked, and that it would probably also make sense for the fic in question to be at least a few weeks old. But in the end, everything is subjective, so recommend whatever you like :)
Remember to use the tag #BoostTheHobbitFics
I hope plenty of you participate. I am very curious to see your recommendations!
It would be also very nice, if you shared this post. Thank you!
And now have a nice day, while I prepare my own recommendations :)
