Thoughts on every Canadian province (by a totally 100% unbiased Albertan):
British Columbia (BC)âItâs pretty. By which I mean pretty fuckin expensive. Nice views, decent weather, Victoriaâs fine to visit but donât ever ask me to set foot in Vancouver. The Vancouver airport is weird and fucked up. The areas in the Rockies are nice, there are some pleasant lakes, otherwise itâs mid. Closer to the coast itâs like the California of Canada. Fuck you for all the snow you donât get.
AlbertaâHome. It fuckin sucks, but in a very specific way that I can survive. Albertans are highly specialized organisms who can survive in this particular shithole but hate literally everywhere else (and for good reason, rest of the country doesnât like us any more than we like them). Very diverse landscape, though youâd never realize it because most of the middle of it is just eternal canola everywhere around you. Canadian Texas, complete with cowboys. I hate this godforsaken place, but everywhere else is worse.
SaskatchewanâThereâs. Things in Saskatchewan, supposedly. Rumour has it that there is at least one city. I believe that it exists and that there are people, if only for the fact that it borders us and I have relatives who live there.
ManitobaâIâm still not 100% sure that this province exists. Iâve met a solid one person from Manitoba. You never hear anything about the place. It may very well be a collective hallucination, I donât know.
OntarioâFuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you. 0/10 hell. Bad. Bad. Bad. Toronto? The root of all evil. Ottawa? No. Just no. My boyfriend is the only good thing to ever come out of Ontario, and thatâs because he left. There is no good contained in this province. This is not a place of honour. Fuck Ontario, all my homies hate Ontario.
QuebecâSomehow manages to be even worse than Ontario, probably because it also contains The French. Do not ever ask me to even consider properly setting foot in this province. Iâve been in the Montreal airport one time for a couple of hours and thatâs more than enough for me. They literally have an entire political party that runs in our federal elections (the Bloc QuĂŠbĂŠcois). At least Albertaâs not serious about wanting to leave the country. Created poutine, and thatâs all the good theyâve done.
New BrunswickâI donât think about New Brunswick.
Nova ScotiaâYâknow what, this is a pretty acceptable one. Never been, but from the Nova Scotians Iâve met it seems solid enough. Iâm not a Maritime person, but yâallâre decent.
Prince Edward Island (PEI)âI cannot say I understand why this is its own full province. This is like the countryâs baby brother who we kinda forget exists. Anne of Green Gables, potatoes, and utterly incomprehensible accent are the only three things I know about the place. Extra points because when I was a kid I heard about the PEI potato museum and wanted nothing more than to visit it. Honestly, that desire has not lessened by much.
Newfoundland & LabradorâTwo for the price of one. Donât know shit about Labrador, but Iâve met a couple Newfies and Iâm decent friends with one of them. Accent is no joke, that Canadian raising is. Itâs something. But I really canât judge accents, so. Decent province.
Bonus: The territoriesâRespect to the residents of the territories for being proof that humans will find a way to survive in literally any environment. I donât know much about the territories, I donât think thereâs much to know about. Iâd like to visit someday to see the northern lights in their fullest glory, though.

Whatever questions you want for ku-vastei đ
General Information
Name:Â Ku-vastei
Associated game/era:Â Morrowind/late third era
Age at beginning of game/relevant time period:Â 48 as of morrowind i believe? not sure really. she was about 17 when the arnesian war started, and she spent about 30 years in prison. a little less than 30, actually - she traveled with my eternal champion talin after the arnesian war ended for about 3-4 years to help him resolve the simulacrum and defeat jagar tharn, so she didnât actually go to prison until the true emperor was restored to power
Race:Â Argonian
Sex/gender (bonus points if there's a cool answer): born âmale,â argonian-gender-shifted while in prison, âfemaleâ as of morrowind
Sexual orientation/preferences:Â loosely bisexual when male, lesbian when female
Class (or a general description of their skillset):Â âsorcererâ; skilled with spears and medium armor, and gifted in conjuration, restoration, mysticism, and alchemy
Background
Is this character from their race's home province/territory? If not, what is their relationship with the region? Do they feel a connection to it?:Â ku has a nebulous relationship to black marsh. she was born in southern morrowind, and traveled to black marsh to recruit for the arnesian war. she has very little connection to the place, although she has a loose connection to the hist, which helped her to transition her gender as well as cultivate her magical potential
Where did they grow up? A city? A village? Isolated, in the wilderness? What was it like to leave?: she grew up on the savethi plantation deep in dres territory in southern morrowind. it was, of course, not a great time, since she was a slave. she suffered horrible abuse there, but she did have her âfamilyâ (namely a few close friends and her naheesh, which is a kind of argonian village elder) to help her get through it, until she violently took over the plantation and started a slave rebellion which led to the arnesian war
What was their childhood like? Who raised them? Do they have siblings?:Â on savethi plantation, the slave children were collectively raised by the adults. ku-vastei never knew her true parents, although she had her suspicions. she doesnât know if she had true siblings or not, either, but she had friends she considered close as siblings.
If they are an adventurer, why did they choose that life? Did they choose it at all?: so it depends on what you mean by âadventurer.â does her time as leader of the slave revolt count? or not until she escapes from certain death to fight with talin against jagar tharn? if thatâs the case, she didnât really choose it - the alternative was death at the hands of angry dunmer. if you only consider her becoming an âadventurerâ when she comes to vvardenfell after prison, then she didnât really choose that, either. that was foisted upon her by the emperor.Â
Do they worship any gods? Who? How do they feel about the gods in general?:Â so she venerates the hist, but sheâs not fanatical about it, really. she doesnât care about the tribunal, the nine divines, or the daedra, although she has a loose respect for mephala and boethiah.
What are their interpersonal relationships like? Are they close with many people?:Â so she became fairly close to talin out of a survivorâs necessity during the simulacrum, but it was largely superficial. later on, she falls in love with ashiri-khaan, and becomes close friends with malcius. llethym mostly just got on her nerves, and qismehti she respected but in a rivalry kind of way.
What's their relationship with their family like? Do they have one?:Â only the found family as nerevarine, unfortunately. and the family she creates with ash is quickly shattered when she has to help defend black marsh during the oblivion crisis, and never returns.
What guilds do they join? Are they committed to those guilds, or are they mostly in them for the benefits?:Â morag tong (she joins bc she enjoys killing people), mageâs guild (she enjoys learning about magic), and house telvanni (again, magic, and also power).
Are they a vampire/lycanthrope? Did they choose to become one? Would they reverse it, given the chance?:Â nope! she never becomes either
For Nerevarines
Why were they sent to Morrowind? Were they truly guilty?:Â she was put in prison so as to satisfy morrowindâs lust for her head after the arnesian war and imperial simulacrum were ended; a supposed-life-sentence was the compromise, since she helped save the empire. she was absolutely guilty of starting a war that shook morrowind to its core.
Do they trust Caius? How much?:Â not really. she does what he says because she has no choice really. he does help (kind of) save her life when she gets corprus, so he earns a little bit of her respect, but not much.
Do they align themselves with any great houses? If yes, why?:Â house telvanni. she sees the potential for power, both magical and political, to be nearly intoxicating. in one timeline, she even becomes archmagister of the house.
Do they know/feel that the Empire is using them as a pawn? What do they do about it?:Â oh, she definitely knows the empire is using her as a pawn. but sheâs kind of okay with it, tbh. as long as it means she gets to go free again.
What's their relationship with the Ashlanders? Does it vary by tribe?:Â sheâs amicable with most of them. she likes urshilaku and ahemmusa the best, and erabenimsun and zainab the least. but sheâs mostly okay with them all.
Do they believe their self to be Nerevar reincarnated? Do you?: over time they come to believe it more and more, but never totally. however, they do see the value in claiming to believe it, so they do, at any useful opportunity. as for me, iâve intentionally set up several parallels between them to heavily imply they are the same person, even if not technically âreincarnated.â hard to explain.
Who do they think killed Nerevar?:Â officially? she supports the theory that dagoth ur killed him. unofficially? she doesnât really care, perhaps leaning towards the theory that the tribunal killed him, but at the end of the day not really caring.
Do they feel sympathy for Dagoth Ur?:Â nope. not at all. heâs just another xenophobic colonizer to her. her supposed history with him in a past life doesnât even register to her.
How do they feel about the Tribunal in general? Do they trust them?:Â nope. she grows to tolerate vivec, even (in the archmagister timeline) taking hir on as an advisor of sorts. but she doesnât totally trust him. she feels absolutely nothing when she kills almalexia.
How much do they interact with the Anticipations and the House of Troubles? Do they do any of their quests?:Â she does mephalaâs quest and sheogorathâs quest, netting her the ring of khajiiti and the spear of bitter mercy. thatâs all she really does though. mephalaâs she does as part of her role in the morag tong, and sheogorathâs she just stumbles upon and decides to humor.
If they travel to Mournhold, do they side with Almalexia and the temple or Helseth? Why?:Â this is a tough one. on the one hand, she distrusts almalexia for being a member of the tribunal. on the other hand, helseth hired assassins to try to kill her. i think she sides with almelexia, but doesnât feel bad about killing her in the end.
How do they feel about Almalexia? Do they see her as sympathetic?:Â more or less already answered this. not sympathetic at all.
If they joined the East Empire Company, who did they side with? Do they regret ever getting involved?:Â ku doesnât do bloodmoon in the main timeline; qismehti does.
Which aspect of Hircine did they fight?:Â again, she doesnât do bloodmoon.
Where do they go at the end of the game? Do they leave Tamriel?:Â so initially she settles down in mainland morrowind with ash and their daughter hla-eix, but when the hist call the argonians back to defend against the impending oblivion crisis, she heeds the call and goes back to black marsh. then she ends up lost in oblivion for like 200 years. so yeah, i guess you could say she left tamriel.

This is tough to do in the intervening time, as many European nations are in the strategy of amending their gambling legislation, particularly focusing on on-line playing. Everything gave the impression to be pretty well laid out and seemed relatively simple to navigate. Our only complaint of the first sportsbook page is that it did have some advertisements on it for the net casino and some other gadgets. | Ego!Sans ⢠BackStory |
Childhood
You know Arthur just nickname or Else To âSansâ or âEgoâ
was born into a time of chaos and war that began with the demise of the Roman empire. It had been believed to be indestructible, but it was only awaiting its destruction at the hands of invading barbarians. In preparation for the war against the barbarians, Rome deprived he island province of any military forces left there. Once Britannia lost the empire's protection, it could not escape becoming independent, causing it to break into smaller countries soon after. This time of barbarian invasions and self-destructive strife between clans started a long period of war that would later become known as the "Dark Ages".
The king, believing in Merlin's prophecy, yearned for the birth of his appointed successor, but the child born was aânot the one he desired.
It is said in the legend that Arthur was left in Merlin's care as the price for his assistance in ensuring the success for Uther's love of Igraine, saying "I will properly guide this child, one bearing a great destiny, and protect him from the crisis of the royal family."so the king could not make a child that was his successor even if he was fated to one day become a king. He was entrusted to the king's vassals and was to be raised as the child of a mere knight. The king fell into despair at the situation, but Merlin was delighted because the sex of the one to become king had never mattered. He was confident that the fact of the being separated from the castle until the day of prophecy was proof that he would become king. Merlin placed Ego!sans in the care of Sir Gaster , a simple and wise old knight, who raised he as his adopted child and successor. Though Gaster did not believe in the prophecy, he did feel the same air from the that as he did his king. He felt that he must raise her as a knight, and he wished for her to grow. He never needed to wish for such a thing, as she trained day after day to become stronger than anyone. He swore to bear her sword for the only reason that "only a king can save a ruined country headed for death" without ever being told such. During this time, he was raised with Papyrus (maybe) as he brother, but they still loved each other as siblings but Doesnât undrinkable after he learned the truth of their relationship. He acted as his squire and received training from him, while also doing other chores such as pulling along his horse. He was better than him in terms of swordsmanship, but he never beat him in a fight due to his arguments declaring himself the winner rather than actual skill.
Once the day of prophecy arrived, knights and lords from around the country gathered to be selected as king. Each expected the selection to be through jousting to select the most superior one to become a king, but the only thing prepared at the place of selection was a naked sword stuck in a stone with a golden inscription on the hilt reading "Whosoe'er pulleth out this sword of this stone is rightwise king born of England." While many knights grabbed the sword trying to follow the command, none were able to pull it out. As they began the expected method of selection by jousting, Ego, only an apprentice not qualified for jousting, neared the deserted stone of selection and reached out for the sword without hesitation.
Before grabbing it, Merlin appeared before he to tell her to think things over before taking it. He told him he would no longer be human upon taking hold of the sword, but he only responded with a nod because he has been prepared for the fact that "becoming a king means no longer being human" ever since she was born. He knew that a king is someone who kills everyone to protect everyone. He thought about it every night and shuddered until morning came. While not one day passed where he did not fear that fact, he said that it would end this day. The sword was pulled out as if it were only natural to do so, and the area was filled with light. He became something not human in that instant. The king's gender doesn't matter, and no one will care about the king's appearance or even notice it as long as the king acts like a king. Even if anybody did notice the king was female, it would not be an issue if he was a good king. This started the time of the king who would become a legend. He stopped aging at 15 years old, back when he pulled Caliburn from the stone. Maybe Yeah Heâs Not Person it Different?
Kingship
Ego!Sans âArthurâ led Britain from Camelot, and after becoming a feudal lord like his father, he became a king with many knights under he, including the esteemed Knights of the Round Table. He growth stopped at that time he pulled the sword because of its magic, so many knights feared it as ominous. Most instead praised their master's immortality as divine. He battles thereafter were the acts of a god of war. He always led from the front, and no enemies could stand in he way. There was no defeat for a body admired as a dragon in human form. He only knew victory for ten years and twelve battles while He ran through those days as the king. He never turned back and was never disgraced. He was raised as a king and fulfilled her obligations as the king.
Personal affairs
Due to the problem of being able to produce an heir, Merlin used magecraft to turn he into a pseudo-male capable of producing sperm for an unknown duration of time.During this period, he was enchanted by her sister, Morgan le Fay, who took some of Arthurâs sperm, developed it within he own ovaries, and gave birth to the homunculus and complete clone of Arthur, Mordred. He was born and raised without Arthurâs knowledge, quickly growing up due to he accelerated aging, and he managed to join the Round Table through he own efforts and Morgan's recommendation. He worshiped her king while hiding he identity, and he was ecstatic to learn of her heritage. (Bonus : Ha Ha I did say?).
Upon claiming he heritage and right to the throne, Arthur completely rejected Mordred, and refused to recognize he as an heir. Mordred believed the reason that he was not accepted was due to the hatred he father bore Morgan, and that no matter how much he worked to excel over others, she would forever be viewed as a tainted existence. The doesnât love he had for the king up until that point was so great that her rejection made he hatred burn.
Actually He not Married. (SORRY HA).
Kingdom
Arthur needed to act as the son of the king, as the one to govern the many territories and control the knights had to While some people did grow suspicious of he only he father, Merlin, and Kay knew the exact truth of he identity. He literally covered herself in steel to seal that truth for all he life, and due to he immortality from the protection of the fairies, no one questioned he small body or face that seemed like that of a invincible warrior whose looks or body size had impact on her standing.
During that time, the people living in fear of savage invasions only wanted a strong king, and the knights would only follow an excellent commander. Having met these criteria, no one questioned he He was considered fair and selfless as he always stood at the front of the army while defeating h enemies on the battlefield. While many enemies and civilians died, the king's choices were always considered correct, and he served as the king better than anyone else. No one doubted or had any need to doubt as long as the king was right.
He army reconstructed the lost cavalry, and knowing no losses, they ran through the battlefield while defeating foreign infantries and crashing through numerous ramparts. Many people were discarded for he to join the battles, and all he enemies had to be defeated once he joined. It was common practice for the military to meet its needs by sucking all the resources out of a local village to supply the battle to protect the country. It can be said that no knight killed more people than he, and it is unknown if he ever found such to be a burden.
He did strictly kept to the oath that a king is not human and that one cannot protect the people with human emotions. He never narrowed he eyes in grief while sitting on the throne, and he settled every problem while working hard in government affairs. He managed to balance the country without any deviations, and he punished people without a single mistake. Even after, or possibly because of, winning battles in victory, commanding citizens without disorder, and punishing hundreds of criminals, one of he knights murmured "King Arthur does not understand human feelings."
It is possible everyone felt that way, that the more perfect he became as a king, the more they needed to question her as a ruler. They felt that a human without emotion cannot rule over others, leading to several reputable knights leaving Camelot. He simply accepted this to be a natural event that is part of the process of government, isolating the fair king honored by his knights. Having abandoned her emotions from the start, she did not change her mind even if she was abandoned, feared, or betrayed. There was no right or wrong to someone who saw such events as trivial.
He final battle for he country began in such a way, and the battle at Badon Hill ended in complete victory. The savages sought reconciliation due to he overwhelming results, and her country that was only awaiting destruction earned a brief period of peace. The country finally began to return to the country of which he had dreamed.

just had one of my most fun times on eu4.
playing as russia (from muscovy like a normie), solid midgame, chill run. allied to mamluks and austria (in catholic league, has not fired, i have the largest army in the world duh, had to gift austria to get them out of debt so protestants donât declare, it worked so far).
i have offensive wars on for mamluks cause why not. theyâre like the 3rd largest army after me and ottos so if they want to attack, iâm in. well, they did, i had just attacked kazan and was done coring and converting, upgrading some forts after mil tech 14, just chilling, they declared on ottos and called me in. i figured, if ottos are in a war, protestants wonât declare cause theyâre 1/3 of the protestant numbers and itâs pretty even. so i accepted.
oh boy. full defensive ideas, religious as well, i have that policy on that gives +1 attrition for enemies. so i think i have a bonus 2+ attrition on top of severe winter. with all my forts in severe winter provinces upgraded (capital in st. petersburg, i have two outer rings of forts protecting the capital from the south, ottos just wouldnât cross the hre into sweden cause duh).
like i swear. they went in like the fools they are. they lost. 100k. to attrition. 100k manpower. it was so sweet to watch. so, so sweet. i just let them come. i sacrificed golden horde territory and parts of ukraine i had just gotten from the commonwealth so ottos would take the attrition. whenever they tried sieging one of my ring forts, i would attack them, and i had more than 1 point of morale advantage over them (golden age + defensive ideas + high power projection + high prestige), which became even wider after i reached mil tech 15. but ottos had 5% more discipline, even with the discipline orthodox icon.
it was working like a charm. i was bleeding them slowly. when they retreated, i would retake some of my territory so they would have to siege it again and take more attrition. you know, playing the defensive game, cause i was not about to take the hit for a war that was not mine. i was having a blast.
then mamluks signed peace at -15% warscore. they gave. one of my provinces away. in ukraine. i altf4â˛d the fuck out of the game cause like iâm not losing that war. the ai sees red number and ottos building a bigger army and gets scared. but i was giving them the russian winter they wanted so much, after all itâs christmas. (itâs even funnier with songs of yuletide playing as ottos kill themselves in droves on my snow covered provinces)
literally one of the most fun iâve had in eu4. and they say attrition doesnât matter. nothing like bleeding ottos. they were down to 50k reserves already, from 120k. i was still sitting at my 120k from the start of the war. such a shame iâll have to altf4 the game until the mamluks stop giving one my provinces away. iâd accept it if i were losing the war, but iâm technically not, which sucks because the ai thinks i am. figures. maybe theyâre right. still fun.
(conclusion: took only 1 try; mamluks gave one of their own provinces away. ottos are absolutely destroyed after trying to invade mother russia like 3 times and failing all of them. their manpower is down to 18k. commonwealth is 0 for some reason. i think they never recovered from me. iâm going after them next, because i have truce with ottos)

3 Simple Ways to Apply for Canadian Permanent Residence
Applying for a Canadian visa on your own is a challenging and time-consuming procedure, especially with all the forms you have to fill out, the documents you have to provide, and the deadlines you have to meet. Knowing which of the more than 100 available Canadian immigration alternatives best fits your unique circumstances is essential for submitting a successful application. But it's not necessary to be.
To get you started on the road to starting a new life in one of the most cosmopolitan and diverse nations in the world, we've chosen the three simplest Canadian immigration options.
These are the top three ways to obtain Canadian permanent residence:
1. The Express Entry System
2. The Provincial Nominee Program
3. Family Sponsorship
Top 3 Easiest Ways to Enter Canada
1. Express Entry
In order to expedite and make the Canadian immigration process easier for qualified foreign candidates who wish to live and work in Canada, the Express Entry System was launched in 2015. One of the best things about the Express Entry system is that it is one of the simplest and quickest ways to come to Canada because you don't need a work offer to apply, and the processing time has been slashed to roughly 6 to 8 months. Three federal immigration programs are available for applicants: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
According to the Comprehensive Ranking System, all qualified visa applicants are given a score based on things like their age, employment experience, and educational background (CRS). After that, they are ranked against other applicants in a draw pool. Every two weeks, Canada holds Express Entry drawings, from which the country's government selects the top candidates to submit applications for permanent residency.

The Provincial Nominee Program is connected to the Express Entry system as well (PNP). Receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to live and work permanently in Canada is made quicker and simpler because to PNPs linked to Express Entry in nine of Canada's 13 provinces and territories.
2. Provincial Nominees Program
In order to bridge the present deficit in the Canadian labour market, the Provincial Nominee Program seeks to entice experienced workers to relocate to the province. If your job title appears on a province's In-Demand Occupations List, you will be prioritized over other applicants to acquire a provincial nomination because that province or territory has certain occupations with high shortages (PN). Receiving a PN almost ensures that applicants for permanent residency will receive 600 additional points to be added to their CRS score.
However, that isn't the best aspect. Some PNPs offer an Express Entry stream, so if you have an Express Entry profile and have indicated that you are interested in moving there, they may choose your profile from the draw pool. Your application will not only be expedited but you will also be awarded bonus points, making it quite simple to obtain permanent residency through some PNPs.
3. Visa for Family Sponsorship
Permanent residents and citizens of Canada over the age of 18 may sponsor a spouse, common-law partner, relative, or dependent to remain and work in Canada through the Family Sponsorship Visa. This visa has 4 streams, including the following:
Family and Spouse Sponsorship Visa;
The Common-law and Spousal Sponsorship Program;
Sponsorship Program for Parents and Grandparents; and
Super Visa
Other Programs to Take into Account
The Working Holiday Visa, also known as the International See Canada (IEC) visa, is a fantastic chance to experience everything that Canada has to offer and may even open up the door to Canadian permanent residency. After completing your IEC program, you can apply for a work visa that is particular to your employer that is valid for at least six months. When you eventually petition to immigrate to Canada permanently, the job experience you gain while on an employer-specific work visa will be applied to your PR points.

See what benefits you can receive if you apply for a working vacation visa in Canada.
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program promotes immigration by establishing contacts between foreigners seeking to settle in Atlantic Canada and employers recognized by the government. There are three different programs to apply for, and each has its own requirements:
Atlantic International Graduate Program;
Atlantic High-skilled Program; and
Atlantic Intermediate-skilled Program
How to settle down in Canada as a Permanent Resident?
Depending on the immigration program you select, if your application for permanent residence is accepted through one of the Express Entry Systems or a Provincial Nominee Program, you will be sent an Invitation to Apply (ITA). You have 90 days to accept your invitation, so make sure you have all the necessary supporting documents on hand. Upon evaluation and approval of your application, you will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residency (COPR).
The Importance of Immigration to Canada
Since Canada annually extends invitations to 350,000 immigrants to live and work there, it is not surprising that so many people have listed it as one of their top three locations for relocation. You and your loved ones can live in safety and security in Canada, where there are also abundant work possibilities, free healthcare, and free public schools.
To help close its present labour shortage, Canada needs immigrants. There won't be enough trained workers available soon to meet the demands of Canada's major businesses due to the country's fast-growing economy and rising retirement rate. By 2036, Statistics Canada predicts that between 23 and 25 percent of Canadians would be older than the country's average retirement age of 65. There will be fewer people working to support seniors by 2035 since 5 million Canadians will have retired. This is why immigration is important to Canada so much. By moving to Canada, you'll be able to enjoy a high standard of living while you're employed as well as look forward to becoming a part of a community that will one day look after you in your senior years.
Immigrants from Canada play a significant role in business. In reality, immigrants who own businesses are responsible for creating roughly 25% of the private sector's jobs, and by establishing their enterprises in Canada, they attract more investors.
With more than 335,000 skilled healthcare workers employed in jobs associated with the health sector in Canada today, immigrants play a significant role in the health sector as well.
Immigration is responsible for 65 percent of Canada's population increase, and by 2022, the government wants to welcome 1 million immigrants to the country. Why don't you aspire to join them?

SPECIAL BONUS SECTION: MOSESâ EXCELLENT ADVENTURE, PART 1
Iâm sure this is going to shock you, but the next surah deals with Moses, yet again. Since we have seen our bud Musa about a thousand times now, and will see him a thousand more times, I think itâs worth exploring him a bit. Outside of Islamic sources, I mean. Who was the ârealâ Moses? How did his story come to be? What did it mean to ancient Jews? Speaking of whom, how did the religion of Judaism itself come to exist as we know it?
First, the bad news: Moses was not real. Yes, this means that the Prince of Egypt is based on events that did not actually happen, but you can still enjoy it. I mean, look at it!
The Exodus story is an origin myth for the Jewish people. There was no mass Hebrew slavery in Egypt, nor did they build the pyramids. The various plagues did not happen, nor did the deaths of either Jewish boys or Egyptian firstborn sons. There was no enormous, 40-year-long trek through the desert from Egypt to Canaan. All archaeological and genetic evidence shows that the Jews have simply always lived in what is now Israel/Palestine. They were Canaanites, starting out as semi-nomadic pastorialists and transitioning to a settled life, just like other peoples in Canaan. So where did the Moses story come from and how did it become so central to the religion? This requires a shitload of lore and backstory to the D&D game gone awry that is the Abrahamic religious group. The lore of Moses is actually more interesting than the Biblical story of Moses!
Letâs set the stage first. Until the 700s BC, there were two related but separate Hebrew-speaking kingdoms in what is now Israel/Palestine (and into Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan), one called Israel and the other called Judah. The Bible claims that they were originally one united kingdom that broke into two after the time of King Solomon, but thereâs no historical evidence to substantiate this. Itâs not even clear how related the two kingdoms were--most scholars think that Israel was significantly more developed and wealthy than Judah. They both worshiped YHWH, along with other gods, and perhaps that is what made them distinct from other small states. Regardless, by the 700s BC, they were directly next to each other, like this:
As the map shows, the capital of Israel was Samaria, which today is in the West Bank. The capital of Judah was Jerusalem. Israel was far more developed and populous compared to its southern neighbor--the Bible frames Judah as the central player in the saga because it was written primarily by people from Judah, which weâll talk about later. But in the mid-700s BC, Israelâs status as the more impressive (and therefore more threatening) Hebrew kingdom worked to its detriment, as it was targeted by regional enemies. Assyrians were the ones to land the fatal blow; they invaded Israel and easily overtook it, due to the fact that the kingdom had already been weakened and invaded for decades prior to this. The Assyrians took so many people into captivity, and so many others fled the war south for Judah, that the territory was significantly depopulated. Unlike some other Biblical events, we know that this really happened, as it was recorded by scribes of the king Sargon. This captivity is only tangential to our story here, since the majority of the âlostâ Jews never returned. Theyâre sometimes called the âlost tribesâ; in reality they probably just assimilated into various Assyrian provinces or Judah over the centuries and stopped identifying as their âtribeâ. But the point is that after 720 BC or so, Judah is now the sole existing Jewish kingdom. 100 years later, they would face their own problems.
The entire area at the time was caught up in a regional power struggle between Assyria plus their Egyptian allies and the Babylonians, the latter of whom were based in what is now Iraq. The Babylonians themselves were ruled by the Assyrians until they broke free in the 600s BC. And for one single, glorious century, the Babylonians went on a tear of fucking shit up. Most of this fucking shit up was accomplished by Nabopolassar, the first emperor of the independent empire, and his son, the more famous Nebuchadnezzar.
The entire Middle East, as it is now, was a clusterfuck at this time. In a single ten-year period the unfortunate kingdom of Judah was taken first by the Egyptians from the Assyrians and then by the Babylonians from the Egyptians. The event of interest here is the Battle of Carchemish, which transferred ownership of Judah from Egypt to Babylon, essentially ending Egyptian involvement in the region. By this time, the Babylonians had already largely destroyed the Assyrians.
For a few years, things were okay. The conquered Jews of Judah (thus the name âJewsâ) paid tribute to their new overlords and everyone just existed in the typical unhappy master-puppet state relationship of ancient times. But then in 601 BC Nebuchadnezzar mounted a costly attempt to conquer Egypt itself. It threw the region into even worse chaos, as some of the Babylonian provinces now turned against their masters and supported the Egyptians. Once the conquest of Egypt failed, Nebuchadnezzar pulled his armies back to Babylonian territories and decided there would be hell to pay for those who had supported the Egyptians.
And so in 597 BC, Jerusalem was besieged. It did not last long, as the Jews were hopelessly outnumbered. The city fell easily and most of the upper-class residents of Jerusalem were kicked into Babylon. The Babylonians appointed a puppet ruler to keep Judah in check, but the puppet king Zedekiah resented his masters and turned against them, again allying with the Egyptians. And again there was hell to pay. Only ten years after the first siege, Jerusalem was besieged again. This time, Nebuchadnezzar ensured that there would be no more rebellions... by destroying the entire city. The Jewish temple was destroyed and thousands more were taken away. Judah ceased to be its own kingdom and was fully absorbed into Babylon.
It is in this era that the story of Moses was put into the form we now know. In fact, this era would completely reshape the Jewish religion as a whole, transforming it into what we now recognize as Judaism.
Prior to this, the Jewish religion was similar to that of its neighbors. It had developed over a period of thousands of years already, based on a polytheistic religious system developed by the Sumerians and introduced to the Levant region by Akkadian influence. In its earliest form, this religion was vaguely similar to Greek polytheism, with a head god (El), his wife (Asherah), and their kids (the various other gods).Â
As the different parts of the Levant and Middle East developed (or re-developed) their own identities, they began to create patron gods for themselves, giving the gods their own personalities and characteristics. Sometimes different gods worshiped by different groups were originally one god. The patron god of the Phoenicians, for example, was Baal; the Arameans of Syria had Hadad. Originally they were just one storm god named âBaal Hadadâ which is strangely similar to Bella Hadid and now I feel uncomfortable. As different cultures claimed different gods, El fell out of the spotlight a bit. Over time, he was replaced by his kids in importance. Many groups even gave his wife Asherah to his sons!
The patron god of the Jewish people was Yahweh, a warrior god. No one is quite sure where âYahwehâ came from, but it is possible that he was brought to the Israel region by a nomadic group called the Shasu, who apparently lived in clusters from the Sinai region into Jordan; the Shasu themselves may have gotten him from some now-lost Egyptian group or else came up with the name themselves. His name is not Hebrew (the âI AMâ etymology was retroactively applied to it) nor does it resemble any of the languages spoken in the Canaan region. An inscription written around the 8th century suggests that there were temples to Yahweh not just in Jewish lands, but also in Edom (in Jordan, again perhaps related to the Shasu). Itâs unclear if other Canaanite peoples like the Edomites also had Yahweh himself as an important god or if he was considered the same as the Edomite god Qos or what. No one really knows!
Wherever he came from, Yahweh, like Baal and the others, was made a son of the god El. Over the span of centuries, he solidified into the most important god in Israel and Judah; in later years he would be conflated with El and take over his daddyâs old stories. The older portions of the Torah make it clear that in this period, Yahweh was regarded as the patron god of the Jewish people, with other gods being the gods of other people. The monotheistic religion of Judaism did not yet exist.
Traces of this era are still found in some Biblical texts. Take this verse from Deuteronomy, which was likely written after Israel fell but before Judah fell:
When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance.
I mean, seems normal and typical of the Bible. Hereâs the only issue. The bolded words are not in the original text. What it really says is this (long explanation of how it was changed to âsons of Israelâ here):
When Elyon divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he established the borders of the nations according to the number of the sons of the gods. Yahwehâs portion was his people, Israel his allotted inheritance.
The original text says that El divided the nations and gave each one to one of his sons with Asherah. Ugaritic texts state that there were 70 of them; Yahweh got the Jews. The fact that Yahweh was one among many is the reason why the early Jewish myths, like the creation account, have Yahweh using the pronoun we instead of I, and why the snake tells Adam and Eve that they shall be like gods. This is also seen in the early Psalms, like 82:1, where Yahweh stands among the gods, or 89:6, where Yahweh is praised: who among the sons of El is like him? This happens over and over.
At some point before Jerusalemâs destruction, some movements seem to have sprung up that sought to stop the worship of other gods. You may recall the story of Jezebel, who was a Canaanite woman who was married to the King of Israel and tried to get him to change Israelâs patron god to Baal, like the Canaanites. The people of Israel, led by the priest Elijah, were furious and resisted it. The storyâs message is that worship of gods other than Yahweh was not just bad but treasonous, even though other gods were still believed to exist. Historians are doubtful about whether Jezebel was a real person, but the focus on worshiping Yahweh alone was a real historical shift. When the exiles later sat down to put the Bible together, these movements would be seen as prophetic in hindsight, and the fact that people ignored their message would be seen as the reason for the destruction of Judah.
It was also around this time that worship of Asherah began to be frowned upon; the Bible has many commands to stop using âAsherah polesâ (itâs believed they were trees or just decorated sticks in tribute of her) and to stop praying to her. She is now almost totally forgotten and unknown by the majority of adherents to Abrahamic religions.
That was the situation at the time of the fall of Jerusalem: other gods were acknowledged and worship of the others hadnât fully stopped, but Yahweh was the god of the Jewish people, the favored son of El... who was well on his way to becoming El himself.

Argentina
Argentina is the quintessential south. Half of the local realities proudly wear the title "the southernmost. To begin with, there's the world's southernmost railroad: Argentina's answer to the bourgeois Orient Express and the harsh domestic Trans-Siberian Railroad - the Patagonian broad gauge, built, by the way, with a continental scope: about 30 years of work and unprecedented for such distant lands amenities - Fiat Concord cars with different twists, like porcelain sinks and carved chairs, and special trailers to transport cars. Then there's the southernmost city on the planet, Ushuaia, on the promenade by the harbor which is so nice to contemplate the summer apricot sunsets. Finally - the southernmost glaciers on Earth (not counting, of course, the pole), with a constant dry crackle sliding down from the mountains to the crystal "silver" lakes of Lago Argentino. An added bonus: Patagonia, immortalized by Monsieur Verne, known to all of us since childhood, is also located here. In general, "he who is merry - he laughs, he who wants - he will achieve, he who seeks - he will always find!" The capital is Buenos Aires.
Resorts in Argentina
Photo by imprintmytravel on Pixabay Argentina has both sea and ski resorts. Interesting cities in terms of tourism are Salta, Cordoba, El Calafate, and the southernmost city of Ushuaia. Natural attractions are Iguazu, Southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
Visa to Argentina
Photo by grebmot on Pixabay A visa is not required to visit Argentina if the trip does not exceed 90 days. Learn more about visa to Argentina. However you will need to obtain a medical insurance for the whole trip in advance. Is it possible to extend your Argentine visa, while you are in the country? Customs Import and export of local and foreign currencies is not limited, but the sums over 10 000 USD need to be declared. You can bring into the country up to 400 cigarettes (or 50 cigars), up to 2 liters of liquor, up to 5 kg of canned foods, souvenirs and gifts not exceeding 300 USD and things for personal needs. When importing these items in excess of this amount, a duty of 50% of their value is levied. It is prohibited to import non-canned food products, items and things of historical, artistic or archaeological value (without a special permit), as well as weapons. When exporting wool and leather goods, jewelry and souvenirs must present a receipt of the store where they were purchased. When exporting furs, an export stamp receipt will be required.
A little history
Photo by jstarj on Pixabay Incredible, but true: in the early 20th century Argentina was considered perhaps the richest country in the world. There was even a saying: "As rich as an Argentinean". Thousands of Europeans tried to find prosperity in the picturesque foothills of the Andes - Southern Italians, Basques who moved from the Pyrenees, Galicians and Catalans, Germans and Austrians and Swiss, Irish and Scots, Russians, Ukrainians and Jews. Despite the government's best efforts to repopulate Argentina's empty territories, they did not succeed, as most immigrants eventually settled in or around the capital. Patagonian Indians were exterminated almost to the last, Africans did not survive the wars with Brazil and Paraguay. Thus a "white" country emerged in South America, Catholic in spirit, Spanish in way of thinking, and French in way of life.
Transport in Argentina
Long distances in the country are most convenient and fastest to travel by plane due to the extensive network of airways and the presence of airports in major cities. It is better to book tickets in advance, and you should also keep in mind that there are flight delays. Rail transport in the country is popular, but in some areas is not well developed. Special tourist trains run in the Patagonia and Mesopotamia regions, and urban transport is represented by buses, commuter trains and cabs. Buenos Aires also has a subway. In 1906, the newly elected president of Argentina raised the question of the development of the national territories: thus began the era of the Patagonian Railroad. But only a couple of decades later the operating line finally connected the major center of Bahia Blanca and the southern tip of Buenos Aires province, the city of Carmen de Patagonese, across the river from which lies Viedma, the capital of the neighboring province and the door to Patagonia⌠International bus routes connect Argentina with neighboring countries: Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil. From Jujuy and Salta there are buses to La Chiaqua, from where you can cross the Bolivian border on foot or by cab. From the same cities you can go to the Bolivian town of Jacuibo, located right on the border, where buses go to the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz. With Chilean cities Argentina is connected by routes from Salta to San Pedro de Atacama, from Mendoza to Santiago, from Bariloche to Puerto Montt, from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas. All cabs in Argentina are equipped with meters, which must be turned on when the passenger boards.
Safety in Argentina
Because there are few "Russo tourists" in the country, locals consider them exotic and the attitude is friendly and helpful. However, certain security measures do not cancel it: it is not recommended to leave the tourist centers alone (especially in the evening), you should not carry large sums of money, expensive jewelry and so on. It is recommended to drink bottled or boiled water. Swimming in the ocean can only be strictly in designated areas: in unequipped areas it is dangerous because of the strong coastal currents.
Interesting facts
The "silver country" has a lot to show the world: tango, Evita PerĂłn, soccer and the most beautiful woman president - just the beginning of the list. Argentina offers, in record time, some of the most bizarre experiences the opposite hemisphere has to offer: a glacier that never stops murmuring, a wander through the streets of the southernmost city, a tango lesson in the street (and if you are lucky, even a milonger standing ovation!), a sail to the legendary Cape Horn, or even an Antarctic cruise. With no visa formalities, to get from winter Russia right into the Argentine summer, all you need is spare time and a fair amount of money. Argentina is known as one of the world's leading wine producers, but adherents of tequila, whiskey, vodka or brandy are also not lacking in their favorite beverages.
Climate of Argentina
Argentina's climate is subtropical in the north, humid tropical in the center, and temperate in the south. Don't forget that in the southern hemisphere winter and summer coincide with ours in exactly the opposite way. The Andean region is characterized by rainy weather and frequent flooding in the summer season, intense heat in the summer, snow cover in the mountains in the winter, and frequent dry hot winds, which Argentinians call "zonda". The temperature variations are considerable both between the seasons and within a single day. In the plains, it often rains heavily over impenetrable rainforests and savannahs. The average temperature is +5 ° C in January and +20 to +22 ° C in July. Summer (December to February) is the best time to visit Patagonia and the Southern Andes. Winter (May through September) is the best time to travel through the northern and northwestern parts of the country. Spring and autumn are the perfect time to visit Buenos Aires, the Inter-Mediterranean region and the Cordillera foothills of La Rioja and Catamarca. And fans of skiing can hone their skills on the slopes of snow-capped Argentine Andes from June to October. The best time to visit the country - from October to May. Up-to-date information: weather forecast for the main resorts in Argentina in the coming days. Hotels in Argentina There are two types of hotels in Argentina - local and international "chains". The first are usually inclined to attribute an extra star to themselves undeservedly, while the level of the latter fully comply with the declared. There are few all-inclusive hotels in the country; in general the hotels offer either breakfasts or half board. The mains voltage is 220 V, 50 Hz. There are two-pin plugs and three-pin plugs. You are advised to bring your own plugs. Tango in Argentina
Photo by fsHH on Pixabay Perhaps everyone knows about the Argentine origin of the tango. Of the fact that it has long been considered, say, not too decent even in their own homeland, probably, are well aware of many (it is known that the champions of strict morality considered tango as a prelude to sex, rather than a dance). But one funny nuance, directly connected with the above-mentioned point, remained almost unknown. It turns out that when the tango began to gain popularity among male audience, its first fans faced with a severe shortage of partners during the training: decent girls in any way did not want to do "it", and dancing lessons in brothels were too expensive. However, they found a way out: men simply began to learn tango dancing⌠with each other! By the way, according to some researchers, this is what gave a strong impetus to the development of dance and enriched it with new movements.
Banks and exchange offices
The currency unit of the country is the Argentinean peso (ARS). 1 peso has 100 centavos. The current exchange rate: 1 ARS = 0.76 RUB (1 USD = 95.77 ARS, 1 EUR = 113.64 ARS). Currency can be exchanged in all banks and large shopping centers, hotels and specialized exchange offices. American Express, Visa, Master Card and Eurocard are accepted at major stores, hotels and restaurants. But in the provinces it is almost impossible to pay with them. You should not take traveler's checks with you. Exchange offices charge high commission for cashing them out, besides, it is almost impossible to exchange them in small towns. Most banks and exchange offices use a ticketing system - instead of standing in line a visitor receives a ticket with a number and then waits until the number is called by a clerk. It must be said that this procedure is more time-consuming than the usual live line.
Shopping and Shops in Argentina
In Argentina, inexpensive and high-quality shopping. From the country you can bring knives, silver mouthpieces, mate tea with a set for its preparation and use (calebasse and metal tubes), sheepskin products, clothing made from vicuĂąa wool, Argentine wines, guitars, art, and quite good furs. When exporting wool and leather goods, you must present a receipt from the store where they were purchased. When leaving the country, you can reclaim VAT on purchases over $70 USD. In Ushuaia, in the free trade zone, purchases will be particularly advantageous. https://vimeo.com/122515337
Cuisine and restaurants
Photo by Mgg Vitchakorn on Unsplash To start with a little advice: forget about fish restaurants in Argentina. It's almost impossible to find them there, and even if you do, you'll regret it. Argentina is meat! One of the best in the world. And wine. Argentine chefs are known for their masterful handling of beef. In addition, after a trip to the country's restaurants, a tourist may well have the impression that he or she has visited almost all of South America - so fond are the local chefs to "borrow" recipes from their neighbors on the continent. The same is true for alcoholic beverages. Argentina is known as one of the world's leading wine producers, but fans of tequila, whiskey, vodka, or brandy are never short of their favourite drinks. Well, the leisure of ideological or unintentional opponents of alcohol will be brightened up by genuine mate in authentic calabas, traditionally drunk through a silver tube. Tipping in Argentina amounts to 5-10% of the bill for service; in expensive establishments it is often already included in the bill. If you decide to treat yourself to a famous restaurant, especially on a weekend, be sure to reserve a table in advance. Otherwise you'll have to stand in a decent line at the entrance. All restaurants on the Atlantic coast prepare excellent dishes of seafood. The "specialty" of Argentina are the "empanadas" pastries, which are considered a Spanish contribution to local cooking. Argentinians have a late dinner, at 9 p.m. at the earliest. Until then, most restaurants serve only light snacks such as pizzas and sandwiches: the "big kitchen" doesn't start until after dark.
Wines of Argentina
Photo by Maja Petric on Unsplash Wine in Argentina is very decent. The local culture of viticulture and winemaking is a kind of symbiosis of European traditions. Even the grape varieties that are grown here seem to have been selected according to the principle "the best from each country. From France - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, from Italy - Sangiovese and Bonarda, from Spain - Cempranillo, from Germany - Riesling. Any wine from 200 ARS and up will be very decent. "Top five": Cheval des Andes 2002 (Terrazas de los Andes), Vistalba Corte A 2004 (Finca y Bodega Vistabla), Iscay 2002 (Trapiche), Luigi Bosca DOC 2003 (Luigi Bosca), Antalogia VIII 2000 (La Rural).
Mate
The Argentines say that yerba mate, the drink number one in all of Latin America, was bestowed upon humanity by the gods who had mercy on mankind. According to the legend, two goddesses came down from heaven to take a walk on the pampas, to gaze at the glaciers, to bathe in the crystal waters of Lago Argentino⌠In general, everything is like today's tourists. No sooner had the celestials set foot on the "silver" land, than a jaguar appeared out of nowhere, and it was just dinnertime. The ladies were frightened out of their wits - but then an Indian appeared from behind the bushes and drove the bloodthirsty beast away like a real gentleman. In gratitude, the goddesses gave the Indian a calebasse and leaves of an unknown plant and taught him to make a decoction from them, which helps to relieve fatigue, improve health, and generally find all kinds of happiness. Since then, yerba mate has been consumed here on an astronomical scale, and Argentinians, as a consequence, are invariably awake and cheerful.
Active recreation or what to do in Argentina
What to do in Argentina: In Buenos Aires - see numerous generals on horseback, in the stone, bow to Eva PerĂłn, drink mate, take part in a gaucho show, visit a tango show, dance a tango in La Boca and feel free from everything - a real gaucho, see how pre-Hispanic cultures live among stunning landscapes. The obligatory trekking in the National Park of Glaciers and Iguazu Falls, rafting and kayaking in the mountain rivers of Bariloche, Salta and Mendoza; mountain climbing and ascent of Mount Aconcagua; canopying, paragliding, skiing, riding in the salt deserts in the highlands are just some of the options that Argentina has to offer. You can ride horses across the snow-capped Andes, swim alongside seals and whales, walk between penguins in Patagonia, watch birds in the "American Serengeti" or condors in the high Andes, meet animals like llamas, vicuĂąas, capybara, nyandu, mara-anything to make it a major destination for those with any interest in nature. People come here for the exotic, the great fishing and the special, inherent only in Latin American countries, feeling of a continuous holiday. Read the full article

so i am finally Inspired enough and have enough time (haha who knows) to start writing (read: batting around ideas for) a Dominion Day Sequel about Western Canada and Iâm debating about how to frame it. Unlike DD there is no one single date to focus on here nor is there one single event that results in union, and Iâm struggling to figure out how exactly to divide up this story and what to focus on- keeping in mind DD only really touched upon the Founding Four and did not resolve PEI and NFLDâs end of the story.
Western Canadian history for me begins with the pivotal Red River Resistance/Rebellion (which I tend to refer to as RRR for shortness and ambiguity lol), but that history is also dependent on the history of Rupertâs Land in a similar way as DD was dependent (subtly) on the War of 1812 and the American Civil War as âprologuesâ. The way I have chosen to understand the characters and the way they have been outlined by Sherry means that an understanding of NWT (as roughly equivalent to Rupertâs Land, in my mind, for simplicity in storytellingâs sake) is that Starting Point and that central character that ties the story together in the way Canada/Matthew was the central character for DD.Â
That begs the question as to How to Deal with the story of NWT. That story does not include BC in a similar way that Confederation did not include Newfoundland; I intend to feature BC as a character, but she is âuniqueâ and âseparateâ (as usual, the special snowflake of the west). It also begs the question: is this the story of the prairies and/or the territories? The history of the West and Confederation, again, means that the RRR and the following North West Resistance/Rebellion is pivotal. Is this the story of Manitobaâs entrance into confederation, is it the story of the prairies, or is it the story of NWT? I donât know if this makes any sense but I hope you see what Iâm getting at. Iâm trying to decide between a chronological telling or a geographical telling.
When I was writing Dominion Day, Confederation was the theme: a union out of convenience rather than trust, a dissatisfaction on all sides, and a type of selfishness from the pov of Matthew to Keep Existing at the expense of the others. For Western Canada, the themes are similar, but with an intense focus on the extremely different treatment of former Rupertâs Land territories compared to literally every other province in Canada.
I guess the natural beginning and end for this story would be 1870s, 1880s, and 1890s with a prologue beginning at Confederation, where we left off, and hinting at the centuries prior that established Rupertâs Land, and an epilogue at the turn of the century. The natural division of the focus from these decades would follow settlement east to west: Manitoba and the RRR, Saskatchewan and the NWR, and Alberta and the Opening of the West alongside Yukon and the Gold Rush. The epilogue, in order to address all of western Canada as I addressed all of Eastern Canada in DD, would need to look towards the late 20th century to Nunavut- whose early beginnings were not until the 70s and who didnât become a territory until /my/ lifetime, ridiculously young compared to the others (aka i still like to think of myself as a Young Person lmao and it makes me feel old that i remember where i was and what i was doing when the territory was created). I donât know how comfortable I am with representing the Inuit as a personification- because I am unconstrained by a video medium this time around, itâs more feasible, but idk because it might just be easier to represent the Inuit with one or more human characters interacting primarily with NWT, who would remain the central character with a direct involvement in all of the younger ps/ts lives and would travel a vast amount of distance as exploration was done, contacts were made, and the capital moved.Â
Anywho this information is stuff iâd like to get Out There and if anyone has an interest in these characters or Western Canadian history and wants to contribute some ideas or even artwork, you can give me and @lilcutiebear a shout. If thereâs someway I can address PEI/NFLD/BC and their entrance into Confederation along the way, it would be a bonus, but in this episode I wouldnât be able to go much into depth on them without a sort of dedicated âmini episodeâ for each one. That might be interesting, actually, in order to explore those little dynamics between them and their neighbours more etc etc but thatâs... for another time (and like bc alone i could just talk forever about because What a Rollercoaster and I really want to swing an internship at the Royal BC Museum if I can for my program........ aaaaaaaaaaa... but i have a membership anyway so i can visit whenever im in the province hohoho).Â

Get your documents re-credentialed if planning on Canadian Immigration
How to confirm your international education and professional qualifications in Canada through re-credentialing.
Here's everything you need to know about the procedure, how long it will take, and how much it will cost.
Are you thinking about migrating to Canada to work or study and want to know if you'll be allowed to continue working in your field or seek an advanced degree?
To work in other countries, including Canada, many professionals and craftsmen must re-certify.
You may be required to provide documentation attesting to your credentials as part of the Canadian immigration procedure. Here's everything you need to know about the procedure, how long it will take, and how much it will cost.
Free Canada Immigration Assessment Form
Why do you need to have your qualifications evaluated for immigration purposes?
Many of Canada's skilled worker immigration programs demand that you have your foreign qualifications evaluated to ensure that they fit the requirements.
You'll also want to determine if your qualifications are equal to Canadian credentials or if you'll need to update them before immigrating. Furthermore, an evaluation may assist potential employers in determining how your qualifications compare to those of other candidates. You may discover that you need extra training or education in Canada as a result of a credential evaluation before you are certified to practice your profession or trade here. If that's the case, you'll need to re-credential in Canada. What that procedure entails will vary depending on your field.
Why is it necessary to have your qualifications evaluated in order to study in Canada?
Each Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada establishes its own standards, which might be general or program-specific. They might include things like having earned previous degrees from a recognized institution, meeting specified course prerequisites, or demonstrating language competency. Some post-secondary schools may perform the evaluation for you, so you may not need to get your credentials formally validated via an educational credential assessment (ECA). Before you do so, check with the admissions offices of the schools you're interested in to determine if they accept international credentials.
What is an evaluation of educational credentials?
An ECA is a review of your educational credentials for immigration purposes, but it may also assist you to show your qualifications to a potential employer if you're seeking work. The evaluation compares your degree, certificate, diploma, or experience against a Canadian one to see whether it's comparable.
The good news for people with numerous degrees is that you usually just require an evaluation for your highest level of study. If you have a doctorate, for example, you don't need to have your bachelor's and master's degrees evaluated. However, if you want to receive bonus points for having various credentials on your immigration application, you should obtain all the assessed degrees.
What is the difference between regulated professions, vocations, and trade assessments?
You must be certified by the provincial or territorial organization in the jurisdiction where you relocate to work in a skilled trade or profession in Canada. In Canada, regulated trades include carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. Architects, pharmacists, and doctors are just a few of the professions that are regulated. Some crafts and professions are regulated in some provinces and territories but not in others, and you may need a license to work in one province but not in another. Professionals may be required to pass a written exam, work for a period of time under supervision, or have their language and communication abilities assessed. If you work in the trades, you may be required to pass a test or complete an apprenticeship.
Each regulatory agency has its own set of certification criteria. What is required depends on your profession or trade, and the best method to determine what is required is to conduct a study into your individual circumstances. Re-credentialing can be a difficult process in some cases. For example, the Medical Council of Canada must award you a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada in order for you to be licensed as a doctor. To be considered, you must show proof of graduation from a medical school recognized in the World Directory of Medical Schools, together with a sponsor statement stating that the school is an approved medical school in Canada. After that, you must pass the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination and show confirmation that you completed 12 months of clinical postgraduate medical training. You'll need certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada once you've earned your licentiate, after which you'll be eligible to apply for a provincial or territory license.
What if you don't meet the requirements?
You may not meet the educational requirements for certain immigration programs if your credentials do not meet Canadian standards, and you will not obtain bonus points for your credentials on your immigration application. If you don't qualify to practice your profession or trade in Canada right once, you may be able to acquire extra education or training or have your ability appraised. Physicians who have completed a residency program or worked in another country, for example, can apply for a practice-ready examination. During this 12-week program, you will work with an experienced physician who will assess your abilities and assist you in adapting to Canadian practice. If your qualifications aren't considered equal in Canada, other professions and trades may offer additional training, apprenticeships, or tests to help you get your Canadian credentials.
You must obtain an ECA through the correct means if you require one for immigration, work, or study. Education qualifications must be obtained from a company that has been approved by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. They collaborate with five general organizations and two professional specialized organizations: University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies Comparative Education Service Canada's International Credential Assessment Service International Qualifications Assessment Service of World Education Services (IQAS) Medical Council of Canada (MCC) is a group of doctors who work in Canada. Pharmacists are regulated by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada. When getting your assessment, keep in mind that it could take anywhere from a few weeks to many months to hear back. The projected wait periods will be given by most organizations and professional bodies. It's time to put your assessment into action. It's good for five years after you have your assessment, after which you'll have to get your ECA done again. Most ECA reports cost more than $200, with physician and pharmacist assessments costing even more.
Do you need financial assistance to pay for your ECA?
Since 2005, Windmill Micro-lending has provided financial assistance to immigrants and refugees in Canada. Newcomers can use loans up to $15,000 to pay for education and training programs, license or qualifying exam fees, a living allowance while studying, and a variety of additional expenses. Too far, they have provided over $50 million in low-interest loans to over 6,800 newcomers in order to help skilled immigrants succeed in Canada. Low-interest loans from Windmill help new Canadians establish credit in their new country, which is a vital step toward eventual home or car finance. Windmill loans have a dramatic impact on the lives of newcomers, allowing for a 3.6x increase in income and a drop in unemployment from 41% to 8%. Windmill is well equipped to assist you along your professional journey in Canada, thanks to a recent $2.5 million gift from Scotiabank as part of the ScotiaRISE project.
It's worthwhile to re-credential.
While re-credentialing may appear to be a difficult procedure, having your ECA increases your chances of being granted for immigration and assists you in obtaining a license once you arrive in Canada so you can work in your profession or trade. Make sure you explore the path to re-credentialing in Canada for your profession or trade so you know the specific cost, schedule, and method to follow.
