I know I am not the only one who dislikes Bonnie's canon relationships, and I wanted to make a space for us that see her as more than what she was given.

Our girl is just as desirable and deserving of a romance as the rest. It's unfair how she's the only one boxed in due to moral policing.

Besides Klaus who else do you ship bonnie with ?

I did say Bonnie deserved hoes. That went for everyone. It is the least the plot could do is uplift Bonnie’s desirability given everyone needs her magic.

No one ever gives a good argument why a noncanon Bonnie ship shouldn’t have happened. “She’s too good for them” “That pairing is so toxic”. “Platonic for a reason…” For example: Kol killed Davina and she married him. No one says anything about Kolvina. But if Bonnie is too good what does that say about your fave for being paired with said toxic man…

They usually mean anyone but the black girl.

I'm in my bonlena feels again thinking about the potential of it all.

A story about a young girl who was kept away from her alleged crazy but actually magical grandmother. Oh and she has premonitions. And her best friend who almost died over the summer is now an orphan. And she's trying to bring her friend back to life and there's a mysterious boy in town that likes her friend except the young girl keeps getting premonitions of death and terrible events happening regarding her friend (who she has feelings for cause I think it's real and therefore it is in this post). And spoiler her friend is the human carrier of blood so special it can make and unmake magical rules.

And also she has to worry about school and cheer practice on top of the angst of loving her best friend who has no self preservation skills to speak of and supernatural creatures want to use her blood for ritual sacrifice.

Like that wouldn't make one hell of a love story....

Carolena were frenemies in s1-4, NOT best friends. They mostly tolerated each other for Bonnie (who is Elena and Caroline's best friend).

Bonlena & Baroline were best friends, and Bonnie was glue keeping Elena and Caroline together. Did Carolena have some touchy feely moments alone? Yes, but that’s the friend in frenemies talking.

I will never forgive the writers for sidelining both those dynamics in the later seasons, and putting Carolena on the spotlight while pushing Bonnie aside like she doesn’t exist.

What would you think of a fanfic interpretation of Damon's "I love you...like elena loves you" line to Bonnie as an admittance that both he and Elena desire Bonnie romantically?

please omfg that is so funny but just as intriguing at the same time 👀👀👀.

DE’s well aware they are toxic, they call it out but honestly I view them as settling for each other. They created so much friction and problems between their shared friend group by being together that it just stayed? Which isn’t good for either of them but I could buy them pretending to still be in love until one of them snaps!

Elena does have fun/emotional moments with other women like Rebekah and Caroline. But when Elena’s at her worst she specifically calls out to Bonnie. When things get messy and Bonnie ends up hurt she wants to apologize first. (TVD ruins that by decentering Bonnie) Elena wants Bonnie there for the fun moments like they used to have with their sleepovers and cheerleading. Bonlena doesn’t have the “we can’t be like this or “this isn’t us” speeches with any other woman in the series.

But this does raise the question was Damon’s problem with Bonnie in s1 due to Elena being unaware of her love for Bonnie? Did Elena say Damon kinda loves Bonnie because she knows what it’s like to love Bonnie and be silenced(or denial) about it? Either way Bonnie would be clueless and whoever decides to tell her first would have to be direct about it.

Damon had to learn like Elena what was it like gaining Bonnie’s loyalty, learning her perseverance throughout hardships and how she cares about other people but from abandoning her he also had to realize what it’s like being on her bad side again.

May the best man or woman win(My money would be on Elena) first than Damon admitting anything.
