⛔️ TW: mention of anorexia and drugging❗️
Tumblr media
♡ Venus Square Mars may attract obsessive people. In particular, people who obsess over their looks or fetishize them in some way. Brooke Shields had a whole nation obsessed with her at the mere age of 12. Eugenia Cooney has infamously attracted hoards of anorexia fetishists with her content. People with this placement may have a higher risk of drastic weight loss or gain.
♡ Either I meet too many Capricorn Suns by coincidence or it's a rather common placement. One reasoning could be that April is an ideal month for marriage in many places, especially ones where it gets unbearably hot in June. Spring adds to April's allure. Traditional couples often conceive right after tying the knot, making the pregnancy due in Capricorn season.
♡ Lilith is associated with sexuality but people focus too much ONLY on that facet of it. Lilith is associated with many other things like power, revenge and how one becomes a social pariah.
♡ Planets at 0° may symbolize struggle. Lana Del Rey has Sun at 0°. The Sun represents our ego. She had many controversies in 2020 including the mesh mask and her Instagram rant undermining POC artists. Even after criticism, instead of apologizing, she remained defensive. I believe that planets at 0° provide a lot of room for growth if the individual is genuinely interested in self-improvement.
♡ Aries Moon (ruled by Mars) and Scorpio Moon (ruled by Pluto, traditionally by Mars) despite being similar are perceived quite differently by people. The sign of Aries gives child-like quality to the native. They come off as cute and their sarcastic remarks are perceived as good humor. E.g. Rihanna roasting Helena Bonham Carter's sense of fashion. Meanwhile, one eyeroll from a Scorpio Moon, and they may come off as hateful and jealous. My advice to Scorpio Moons who want to be in the public eye, please never put on the mean girl persona. Tap into your kind side, it'll be received in a positive way and you'll attract genuine support.
♡ Venus-Mars aspects symbolize beauty; the difference may lie in how people perceive it. Venus Trine Mars are often called cute. People with this aspect are well-liked and have a good reputation. These are the people who may never be cancelled due to the halo effect they have. No matter how massively popular they are, people won't be digging up dirt on them, which is also why very little is known about these people's personal lives. These people often become a household name due to that one iconic thing they did, even if they decide to adapt a lowkey presence afterwards. Let me emphasize this with an extensive list of examples:
✧ Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Zayn, Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), Adele, Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Sabrina Carpenter, Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man), Kate Middleton, Mandy Moore (A Walk to Remember), Jackie Chan, Jenna Fischer (The Office), Ana de Armas, Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) and Alan Rickman (Harry Potter) have this aspect.
✧ Taeyang being the only member of former K-pop group BIGBANG who's had no controversies (also managed to keep his relationship hidden for a long time before revealing it with a wedding announcement), Khloé Kardashian being the least disliked Kardashian/Jenner sister, Cardi B admitting to drugging and robbing men, starring in Hustlers that glamorized it, hitting her career peak with WAP the very next year really drives the point home.
✧ I've also noticed this aspect in almost all Bollywood IT girls of their time: Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma, Ayesha Takia, Dia Mirza, Divya Bharti, Parveen Babi - all loved by the general public despite the media scrutiny and misogyny that prevails within the industry.

The second of Jane Austen’s novels, first published in 1813, is the most often adapted, inspiring various different takes on it. The ones pictures above are detailed below:

*****
Personal favorites: 2005, then 1995. But also: The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, Orgulho e Paixão
I also enjoyed Atlanta and, while it’s been a while since I’ve seen Bride and Prejudice, it’s got Indian musical numbers so c’mon, one gotta watch it.
Back to the closer adaptions, despite its age, 1980 is also good! 1940 is...very different, but fun in its own way.
In fact, while I find some of these versions weaker, I could find enjoyment in all of them - but maybe that’s cause I’m a sucker for P&P.

Rewatching Devdas
I feel like I can never say enough about this movie. Every time I watch it I find something new to admire. I am always stunned by the aesthetic of it. Every choice feels deliberate, the sets, the costumes, the use of color - every frame like a painting. The editing is tight. I love Bollywood movies, but you could cut 40 minutes out of most of them without impacting the story, and that's not true of Devdas. The choreography is insanely good. It's quite simply a cinematic masterpiece.
Shah Rukh Khan's performance as the tragically doomed Devdas is worth the price of admission alone, but the rest of the cast are also at the top of their game. Aishwarya Rai is so ethereal it makes each emotional blow she suffers hit even harder. Madhuri Dixit, Kirron Kher & Jackie Shroff all give standout performances; I appreciate them more with every watch.
This movie is like a college course in visual storytelling. The images linger in the mind - Paro's futile dash for the gate at the end, the wedding procession and, my particular favorite...
Morey Piya
Tumblr media
Ah, this scene! In my opinion, one of the hottest ever put on film. And shot in a way that leaves you wondering if it's all a dream. While it leaves the viewer with no doubt about what's going on, it does it all through suggestion. I love the way Bollywood elevated this into almost an art form. I far prefer it to the Hollywood version, which always shows rather than tells. Letting the audience use their imagination is practically unheard of in movies today.
This scene also showcases the qualities that make Shah Rukh a star. HIs magnetism, the gentle playfulness, and also his strength and that danger that lurks just under the surface. You see it all here. I don't know if I've ever wanted to be a character in a movie as much as I want to be Aishwarya Rai in this scene.
Tumblr media
My personal Top 5 Shah Rukh Khan movies is always evolving, but every time I watch this one it moves up a notch. Even the tragic ending is gradually growing on me. The way Paro reacts, after having apparently moved on and accepted her fate, completely going to pieces when she learns the love of her life is breathing his last at her door.
If you haven't seen this movie, stop what you are doing and go watch it now. And if you've seen it, watch it again. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Same anon that brought up Klaus Kinski.
I guess I am sharing all this because I noticed you reblogged a Werner Herzog quote. Coincidentally, I was watching his Nosferatu the Vampyre work starring Klaus Kinski and Isabelle Adjani, and I couldn’t help but study the two actors’ and the director’s birth charts. Interesting how their nodal influences showcase themselves through vampire concepts and such. Herzog has a lot of lunar nakshatra placements + Magha Venus-Rahu + Shatabhisha Ketu (assuming his birth time I accurate). Kinski has Ardra Rahu, and Adjani has Ardra Sun + Mula Rahu. I’m sure other planetary placements may be prominent in vampiric, illusionary films, but I mainly observe strong nodal influences in such works (example: The Twilight Saga series).
On a side note: of course, curiosity is always the cause of finding out controversial information about these sort of people… I can’t say I regret learning about Kinski’s horrific behavior or Adjani’s warped views. At least I know now! Speaking of Isabella Adjani- I realized she was romantically linked to Daniel Day-Lewis (an Ashwini Moon native) for 6 years. The magnetism between two Nodal people is undeniable.
let me add some random bollywood gossip hehe
All of these 3 stunning gorgeous women share striking resemblance with each other and they're all exes of actor Salman Khan lmao, I guess he really has a type
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after his relationship with aishwarya rai ended, he launched an actress who looks just like her

her name is Sneha Ullal and unfortunately due to her struggles with her illness, she never found much success in cinema

Happy Birthday, #Helen (21/11).
Helen's foray into Bollywood began with a little help from a family friend, actress Cuckoo. Starting with group dance roles in movies like "Shabistan" (1951) and "Awaara" (1951), Helen quickly became a regular in the industry. Her talent shone through, earning her solo dance spots in films such as "Alif Laila" (1954) and "Hoor-e-Arab" (1955). Notably, she also appeared as a street singer in "Mayurpankh" (1954).
A significant breakthrough came in 1958 when Helen was just 19. Her performance in the song "Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu" from the film "Howrah Bridge" captured hearts. Sung by Geeta Dutt, this song marked the start of a series of successful projects for Helen. The 1960s and 1970s saw her rise to fame, with Geeta Dutt lending her voice for many of Helen's performances. During this period, Helen often portrayed characters who would perform a song or dance and then exit the plot, paving the way for the film's lead actress.
By 1969, Helen had become a household name, even gracing the cover of Filmfare Magazine. Another prominent singer, Asha Bhosle, frequently provided playback for Helen's performances, especially during the 1960s and early 1970s. Helen's versatility wasn't just limited to dance; she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1965 for her role in "Gumnaam". Her dramatic roles in "China Town" and "Sachaai" (1969), alongside Shammi Kapoor, were box office hits. She also portrayed a compelling character in "Chhote Sarkar" (1974), co-starring Shammi Kapoor and Sadhana. Helen's hit dance numbers included 'Suku Suku' in "Junglee", 'Yamma Yamma' in "China Town", and several others.
Helen's fame wasn't confined to the Indian cinema; she performed on stages in London, Paris, and Hong Kong. In 1973, "Helen, Queen of the Nautch Girls", a 30-minute documentary by Merchant Ivory Films, highlighted her life and career. This was followed by Jerry Pinto's book "The Life and Times of an H-Bomb" in 2006, which won a National Film Award. Writer Salim Khan played a key role in Helen's career, casting her in several films he co-scripted. Her performance in "Lahu Ke Do Rang" (1979) earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. In recognition of her contributions, Helen received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
Though she officially retired in 1983, Helen made occasional appearances in films like "Khamoshi: The Musical" (1996) and "Mohabbatein" (2000). She also appeared alongside her real-life step-son #SalmanKhan in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and in "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" (2006). Her contributions were further acknowledged when she was selected for the Padma Shri in 2009, alongside Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar. Helen also served as a judge in the semifinals and finals of India's 2009 "Dancing Queen" television series.

SATURDAY MATINEE MUSIC VIDEO “All Things Are Possible—Fire” feat. Tim Breon & Monette Newsuan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPgQWd8RbpM On this one I went into a dance-techno groove, with words about rising above adversity, distraction, and naysayers. The video fuses Bollywood* with Star Trek and other dimensions that promote possibilities. The music came to me after a night I heard St. Etienne, a London-based group that combines retro-soul and Europop with dance club culture. Their song “Nothing Can Stop Us Now” inspired me to write “All Things Are Possible.” I imagined if Donna Summer sang a Star Trek soundtrack with Weather Report as the backing band + Brian Auger on organ solo. The steller vocal improvs are by gospel singer Monette Newsuan. “All things are possible to those who believe....” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPgQWd8RbpM

omg i noticed you reblogged some pride and prejudice gifts have you watched the one with keira knightly as elizabeth bennet?!?!(only one i’ve watched but i’ve been told the series was much better) the Mr Darcy in that one is gorgeous !!
Yeah, I reblogged one of the first film adaptations of it, the 1940 version with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier.
LOL, I have a true aversion to the Joe Wright 2005 version with Keira Knightley. I have no idea why, but it just didn't "catch" with me.
I have two fave adaptations of Pride and Prejudice. One is Bride and Prejudice, which is a fun Bollywood influenced take starring Aishwarya Rai and Martin Henderson. Really fun, and actually quite faithful to the themes of the original novel.
Tumblr media
If you want the best straight-up book faithful adaptation then there's only one, as far as I'm concerned: the 1995 BBC/A&E co-production starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. To me they are the definitive Darcy and Lizzie.

Yep, they're my lobsters. ❤️

Who Are The Top 10 Most Beautiful Women In The World?
There are many lists out there that try to answer the question: who are the most beautiful women in the world? But it's not an easy question to answer. There are so many factors that go into what makes someone beautiful, and everyone has their own definition of beauty. That being said, there are definitely some women who stand out above the rest when it comes to beauty. And in this blog post, we'll count down the top 10 most beautiful women in the world according to our findings. From models and actresses to businesswomen and philanthropists, these women are not only beautiful on the outside, but they're also strong and inspiring on the inside.
