things i’m working on;
a/n: i have no idea when most of these will be out specifically but the semester is ending and i can’t wait to write as much as i can next week onwards! all are subject to slight changes and of course, all will be 18+. minors do not interact.
an embrace of thorns ch. 2: usurper | knight!abby x princess!reader
the aftermath of your crimes, in which abigail is imprisoned for taking the blame. you want to let what passed between the both of you to rot, but guilt gnaws at your aching bones…
vampire!abby headcanons
for halloween so this will probably come out in the coming days! inspired by carmilla and dracula. haunting, gothic and romantic.
coffee smell and lilac skin | bartender!ellie x rich fem!reader
ellie knows the patrons are off-limits, yet she finds herself engulfed in the thought of you. with your fire-lit gaze and the hollow tap of your manicured nails, she finds the walls of mere fantasy being chipped away. rules were made to be broken, right?
smutty!!! heavily inspired by the song everybody here wants you by jeff buckley
red wine supernova | dina
for my fellow awkward fems who get flustered when a pretty girl talks to them. i’ve only written points for this one but think sexually charged glances, lipstick stains on skimpy satin tops and press-on nails
obviously inspired by red wine supernova by chappell roan lol (one of the only 3 songs ik by her but it’s so catchy🫶🏼)
heavenbloom theatre | abby, dina, ellie
a series of oneshots based on my favourite films!!! this one will take me a long time, but i’m so excited to do it. i’m still deciding on some of the films but at the moment i have started an in the mood for love (2000) one for abby and a bound (1996) one for ellie. thinking of covering a dramatic bollywood period piece and maybe a slow, dreamy japanese film too, but these aren’t set in stone. more info to come💛

Have not watched every nct mv yet but convinced already that they’re just a group, a rather large group, who do silly dances and make goofy ah music. I’m not hating them Idk how anyone could genuinely hate them cause they so silly I laugh watching their mvs cause I don’t expect what’s happening and there’s so much in every video, the goofy opening choreo for favorite and the TikTok meme, they all sleep like bottoms, there’s the silly flute in sticker and the cowboy core with all the lights and Vegas and they drink hot sauce and the hippie vibes and it’s just gay and campy and cunty and extra and goofy and fun music, the weird English lyrics, the odd sounding instrumentals, like I’m not sure if I genuinely like any nct songs or unit songs as in I think they are really good but they can be catchy and are def fun to listen too, the opening to kick it and the chorus in kick back, love talk is so nasty and funny and I also think it’s hilarious that the entire group vapes. Idk like I know idols smoke but there’s like so many members and the fact that they all collectively vape they all share the same braincell and it’s so funny to me idk why and the remixes and all the Bollywood memes and the comments are hilarious it’s like going down a rabbit hole it’s fun and boujee and they do all different concepts and genres and silly like dances and all kinds of stuff it’s fun I think it’s cute.

OP you can't post Lahu Munh Lag Gaya and not post Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun. Though honestly every single scene in this movie is GOLD (and the songs are insanely catchy)
youtube
cannot emphasize enough how much these two have never met before. literally the only interaction they've had prior to the start of the vid is seeing each other from across the party and kinda chasing each other for like maybe thirty seconds. this is their meet-cute. they have never spoken.

My ideas for a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen theatrical musical which will never come to reality:
-based off the movie (if loosely) because the comics would be a pain to adapt
-also the songs would really help hiding the writing issues
-Mina’s actress wears a secret contraption that stretches into bat wings on command, and special makeup that highlights her features under certain types of light- thus allowing her to go Dracula mode onstage. She also gets costumes she can take off in one piece so that as her character develops she gradually ditches a more traditional Victorian getup for a modern, goth outfit.
-the Invisible Man is played by an actor in a bodysuit wearing a removable mask and moving puppet arms around (which represent face makeup and gloves respectively). To become invisible he simply drops them and moves around the stage, as other actors pretend they can’t see him.
-Hyde is a large stage puppet maneuvered by various actors, with Jekyll’s actor moving his face and providing his voice. The transformations consist of Jekyll simply entering or leaving his place in the puppet, the other puppeteers building it up around him or removing key pieces. And the mirror scenes are done with projections and pre-recorded audio.
-Lots of Puppets just. So Many Many Puppets. For the Nautilus for the Phantom’s men for Dante for all that sea life etc
As for the music:
-cheesy intro number on the line of “deviation from the norm will be punished unless its exploitable”
-We need at least one (1) sad song about Mina’s tragic backstory, or rather how she feels about it. Not very good this is.
-she also is given the role of protagonist back
-Jekyll is going to be framed as her love interest through and through btw. Same as Dorian. Tom already has his getting adopted by Allan arc. Literally a YA love triangle but they’re all goth middle aged queens.
-listen this is my idea so I make the rules
-EPIC NEMO THEME -the hunt for Hyde becomes a short but catchy dance sequence.
-The Nautilus is introduced with a HUGE high level song worthy of a Bollywood musical with the aforementioned sea life puppets. Please ignore how incredibly dark the lyrics are.
-YES I KNOW THOSE MOMENTS ARE LITERALLY BACK TO BACK IN THE MOVIE. I’LL FIND A WAY TO SPACE THEM OUT.
-Mina and Dorian MUST have a duet that makes it into Lovers To Enemies To Lovers To Enemies playlists I SWEAR TO GOD.
-Confrontation 2
-Jekyll and Hyde literally have Confrontation 2
-Captain Nemo is going to get a solo song about his past and his motivations and here he should figure out M first, like in the comics (Allan has more of a mentor role / common thread between the other characters)
-Dorian Gray villain song complete with a little dance! A jaunty little gothic vaudeville song that uses his motif (which will sound whenever he’s onstage)
-Moriarty doesn’t dance because he thinks he’s above dancing but he does sing. He also has a villain song but it’s way more serious than Dorian’s
-Allan doesn’t sing a single line until the last song (as he’s dying)
the musical ends with Mina becoming the new leader of the League and getting her final costume change which will include a question mark motif as a nod to the original comics
And then intro number reprise but with a more tongue in cheek cynical tint and a final hopeful note. I need people to come out of the theater as full blown anarchists.

01.02.24 im making my peace with knowing my favorite musical genre are fucking soundtracks
cabaret / liza minelli: this is the definition of fantastic. wow. almost desperately lively. which i guess fits the scene, but i havent watched the movie:( also, that ‘tomorrow belongs to me’? that was fucking scary. made me feel surrounded…..
let me drown / orville peck: what a voice, man. i need to listen to him live eventually. feels like he’s so lost…. what vulnerability!
pimp / bacao rhythm & steel band: have yall seen ‘anatomy of a fall’? it’s so immersive, it had me transfixed. and well. this 50 cent cover is really catchy, what can i say
yunhi kat jaayega / kumar sanu & alka yagnik: one day i felt like listening to something bollywood because i like the grand scale of some of their musicals. stumbled upon this song from ‘hum hain rahi pyar ke’ and loved it. i didnt even know what the movie was about until a couple of seconds ago
portuguese dance ii / jerskin fendrix: this one is from ‘poor things’. witnessing a person grow and develop into themselves in 2 hours was fascinating, and so was the soundtrack. i really liked some of the design choices for the spaces, but i grew tired of the oversaturated skies and how clear it was that all exterior scenes were sets. i dont like when you can feel the real scale in how the fictional scale is presented
perfect illusion / lady gaga: i was never really a stan, but i did make my twitter account just so i could vote for gaga in whatever awards. and saying she’s my favorite artist is also my Official Stance, but i dont listen much to her (old policy of mine so i dont get tired of the songs i really really like, u know?). but this song got pulled of streaming for like a day or two, and then i listened to it, and bam. its so fun!!!! have yall seen the video of her in the desert for this one? it really sums up the energy. thx joanne

This is one of thoes movies that initially released back in those days of Bollywood's new-found obsession with "erotic" thrillers and probably hasn't been thought about anyone since then. Except, you know, me, because my brain is weird that way. (Though, even for me, it's been a while.)
And then, yesterday, I was going through my old music and I re-found 2 songs that I actually much enjoyed because I found them pretty catchy: Jab Se Hua Hai Mujhe Pyaar and Mujhe Choom Choom. So then I figured I might as well watch the movie, because it's not like 'good songs' has ever steered me wrong before. (More seriously, on the plus side, with so many movies releasing with - there's bound to be a bunch of surprisingly catchy, or good, or both, songs even in bad movies.)
The movie is, unsurprisingly, not good. I also feel very lied to by my brain - because I really felt like I remember a poster of the movie that made this feel like some sort of spy thriller. And, well, it is most defintely NOT a spy thriller. Or really any sort of thriller either. (And, if you're really curious, not even really much of 'erotic,' even by Bollywood standards - that wasn't why I was watching this movie, literally it was just the songs, but aside from a scene or 2, this can't hold even the slightest candle to like Murder or Raaz or Hate Story or any of those entertaining movies that also sorta fall into the 'erotic thriller, Bollywood-style' category.)
There's a random subplot of a blackmailer, who is apparently trying to blackmail a bunch of people, that sorta comes and goes without much of anything actually happening from it - aside from apparently leading her to murdering two people in cold blood, and letting another die of a heart attack. (I mean, it could've led to someone telling someone else the truth; but, of course, it is a movie, so that obviously can't happen.)
The Bollywood trope of someone saying "I need to tell you the truth" and the other person not letting them say anything is alive and well, as it always has been. I think if there's one thing to learn from Bollywood, it's that if someone wants to tell you something ... fucking LET THEM! ... Luckily, in this case, Preeti Jhangiani comes back from a trip and hears everything through the door, and things are able to be fixed by a dramatic monologue. (Also, I know it's this idea of Preeti's father, played by Raj Babbar, finding a girl much younger than him - but it is so weird for the final monologue to hear Preeti repeatedly call Isha Koppikar, who is 4 years older than her, mother.)
Somehow, at the end, she disappears amidst a final sentence of the monologue - and finds another gun, since the one she had was out of bullets! - and shoots herself. Tragic, of course, and a very expected dramatic end to this movie. But also funny, in a sad way, that she just gets this full monologue about how "you are my mother" from a girl who never met her mother and immediately makes it so that that character is now down 2 mothers (and her father). Ultimate "fuck you" move.
Also - those songs are much better when just listening to the audio than if you decide to watch the videos (another very common thing for a lot of Bollywood songs).
Yeah. Definitely not a spy thriller.

Jawan: One of SRK's Best Movies
Follow me on Instagram: @thatguyanesejournalist
Let’s talk about Atlee’s Jawan
Tumblr media
Azad is a jailer at a women’s prison who moonlights as a vigilante with the aim to rectify corruption in Indian society, targeting a specific individual whose actions and status have caused extreme suffering for civilians.
Tumblr media
I’ll be honest. The plot could have easily been a two-dimensional hero versus villain story that we’ve all seen too many times. However, adding the stories about Kalki’s father and Dr. Eeram’s “negligence” really brings a depth to the plot that proves this film is not just a story about a protagonist and an antagonist: it’s a story about the people of India.
For example, to avenge thousands of farmers’ suicides, the team holds passengers of a train hostage until they get paid ₹40,000 crore ($4,818,532 USD) so they can repay the loans of the Indian farmers. The viewers finds out through one of the most emotional scenes in the movie that Kalki’s father, who was a farmer, committed suicide so that his family could pay off the loan on their tractor with the money they would receive from his death. In real life, more than 12,000 farmers in India commit suicide every year due to debts. These anecdotes in the film bring a touch of needed reality to the plot; in fact, the reality-based conflicts are something I think Bollywood needs desperately these days.
Tumblr media
Personally, I think this is one of SRK’s best movies. I’ve been waiting to see what movies SRK was going to churn out now that he isn’t doing purely romance movies anymore. I think Jawan is a great example of the content SRK is capable of creating without being a romance hero. And you see this with Azad and Vikram Rathore, who aren’t your typical protagonists. You would expect the protagonists to take the main spotlight for most of the movie. However, SRK shares the screen with a plethora of other female characters and doesn’t overshadow their acting or stories.
Tumblr media
One character that I absolutely adored was Narmada. As a female protagonist, she wasn’t the “damsel in distress” that needed saving all the time. In fact, she was a tough character throughout the movie who held her own, even when she found out Azad’s real identity as a vigilante. I really do appreciate Narmada’s character arc and the fact that she could always defend herself as an individual.
Tumblr media
A quick shoutout to Kalee Gaikwad and how effortlessly Vijay Sethupathi acted in his role. This was actually the first movie I’ve ever seen him in, and he conveys the psychotic qualities of his character without it seeming fake or unconvincing. I have a whole bunch of Vijay Sethupathi movies lined up for me to watch for the future!
Tumblr media
Also, another shoutout to Aishwarya Rathore and the wonderful Deepika Padukone. Even though her cameo in the movie was short, it was an impactful one and gave me major Om Shanti Om vibes. I love how her character was also strong and independent, refusing to be coerced by Gaikwad and his scheme to frame Vikram.
Tumblr media
I loved the movie so much. There was impactful dialogue throughout, even though some parts did sound a bit preachy but still fit the message that the movie was trying to convey. The references to SRK’s iconic movies didn’t go unnoticed by me, and it was done in a way that didn’t make me cringe. I also appreciated the way there were numerous fourth-wall breaks that seemed like SRK was addressing the real-life viewers during the film’s most crucial moments; by staging this scenes as messages to the actual people, it causes viewers to think about their own political landscape in their country and how they can impact their own government (LEGALLY, PLEASE).
Tumblr media
All the songs on the soundtrack, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, were pretty catchy to me. Welcome to another episode of me having a hard time to curate my song list. At the end of the day, I included both popular and seemingly underrated songs from the film. Give them a listen!
Aararaari Raaro
Chaleya
Zinda Banda
Tumblr media
The movie is 2 hours and 50 minutes long. Stream the extended cut on Netflix, grab a snack, and enjoy!
Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

★Salman Khan’s Tiger 3: How he gave birth to the spy universe in Bollywood | Explained!
October 26, 2023
Today, Salman Khan is a synonym of Tiger. The superstar is the only one who rules this franchise all of his own. Starting with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, the franchise went on to raise the bar with its 2nd installment, Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017 and after a long time he is coming back with the 3rd installment, Tiger 3.
Tiger giving birth to the spy universe in Bollywood
With the Tiger franchise, Salman Khan has introduced a spy universe in Bollywood and today is the only star who is a whole sole ruler of it. Call him Bharat’s coolest spy, Salman Khan as Tiger rules the hearts of the audience across the nation. We must admit that he is the one who gave birth to the spy universe in Bollywood. With every other installment of the franchise, the audience gets to witness a bigger level of action and adventure which is all set to rise to the next level in Tiger 3.
Reasons for the popularity of Tiger
The immense popularity of Salman Khan’s Tiger franchise is also due to its catchy and extremely goosebumps-worthy BGM. The music certainly carries the aura of Tiger on the screen and right from his entry to any of the action scenes the music plays a significant role in making this franchise what it is today. Apart from this, the Tiger franchise also gave Bollywood the most adorable pairing of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Right from the inception of the Tiger franchise in 2012, Tiger and Zoya have been ruling the hearts of the audience.
Now, Salman Khan has put a full stop to the long wait of the audience by releasing the trailer of Tiger 3. The superstar is al

Fellow I'm just ken lover,
It was THE highlight of the movie for me. I was all giggly and kicking back my feet for the dance sequence. It's been sometime since I saw such a visually appealing and catchy number. Also I don't have too high expectations from dance numbers in Hollywood (except for explicitly stated musicals) because I watch a lot of Bollywood movies (and they do over the top dramatic dance scenes perfectly, regardless of many other plotline flaws). Anyway it was great to see you back on my TL. Lots of love.
I'm Just Ken lover 😄 I like that
If we're talking about the visual aspect, I have this to share. Perhaps you already knew. This scene was a direct inspiration for that musical number.

Girl, you better watch the RRR movie itself if you've got time. The cinematography, the music, and the characters are so good omg, well worth the 3 hours. The music Dosti is also great, tho not as catchy, and then there's Sholay.
Oh I so will after my last exam, its on my watch list. Like I get why its won golden globe and nominated for Oscars. I've grown up watching a lot of bollywood movies and usually, cinematography is shit for the musicals but LORD ITS SO GOOD FOR NATTU NATFU OMGGGG.
The suspenders part was my favvvv I've watched it like 100000 times, and it's followed closely by the dance off part at the end. Like I enjoy how the white people started joining in, and when they started falling down- genius!
I have a feeling that this movie just might be taking the new spot of my fav bollywood movie (for now, its been OM shanti OM,and chup chup k)

Start by envisioning the overall vibe you want to create with your playlist. Are you looking for a relaxing and laid-back atmosphere, or do you want to infuse your beach experience with high-energy and excitement? Consider the type of beach you’re visiting, the activities you plan to engage in, and the overall mood you want to set. This will help you select songs that align with your desired beach experience.
Include Beach-themed Songs:
To capture the essence of the beach, incorporate songs that directly reference the ocean, sand, sun, or summer. Look for tracks that have lyrics or titles related to the beach. These songs will instantly transport you to the seaside and add a touch of tropical charm to your playlist.
Explore Genres:
Beach playlists don’t have to be limited to a specific genre. Experiment with different styles of music to cater to different moods and preferences. Consider including genres such as reggae, tropical house, surf rock, indie pop, or even Bollywood beach tracks. Mix and match various genres to create an eclectic playlist that keeps things interesting.
Balance Upbeat and Chill:
A well-rounded beach playlist strikes a balance between lively, upbeat tunes and more relaxed, soothing tracks. Include energetic songs to keep the energy high during beach games, water activities, or parties. Simultaneously, include softer melodies that allow you to unwind, soak up the sun, and enjoy the serene beauty of the beach.
Timeless Classics and Contemporary Hits:
Blend timeless classics with current chart-toppers to appeal to a wide range of musical tastes. Iconic beach-themed songs like “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys or “Under the Boardwalk” by The Drifters will evoke a sense of nostalgia, while recent hits can add a fresh and modern touch to your playlist.
Collaborative Playlist:
Involve your travel companions in the playlist creation process by setting up a collaborative playlist. Encourage everyone to contribute their favorite beach tracks, ensuring that everyone’s tastes and preferences are represented. This collaborative effort will make the playlist more diverse and personalized, creating a memorable soundtrack for your vacation.
Mood Transitions and Flow:
Consider the flow and mood transitions between songs to ensure a seamless listening experience. Group together songs with similar energy levels or complementary themes. Arrange the playlist in a way that builds up and eases down when needed, creating a dynamic yet cohesive journey through the music.
