author note1: more yn/joris fluff 🥹🥹 based on charles los angeles vlog here
Tumblr media
The warm California sun welcomed Charles Leclerc and his entourage as they stepped off the plane at Los Angeles International Airport. The city's vibrant energy and palm-lined streets signaled the beginning of a much-needed break for the Formula 1 driver and his companions.
"Ah, Los Angeles! It's good to be here," Charles exclaimed, stretching his arms wide.
Andrea, Charles’ trainer, nodded in agreement. "Sì, Los Angeles è sempre bello. È il momento di divertirsi" ( Los Angeles is always beautifuI) (t's time to have fun)
Joris, Charles's best friend and Yn's boyfriend, grinned. "Time for some fun, my friends!"
As they settled into their luxurious villa, Charles couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. "This is exactly what I needed, guys. A break from the racing world and some time to unwind," he said, a genuine smile on his face.
The group, which included Charles, Andrea, Joris, Charles's girlfriend Alexandra, Riccardo, and his wife Marta, as well as Antoine, Charles's photographer and videographer, headed to their hotel to drop off their bags. Charles couldn't help but glance at Yn, his twin sister, who was engaged in lively conversation with Alex.
"Hey, Yn, ready for some LA adventures?" Charles teased, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
Yn rolled her eyes. "Always ready, Charles. As long as you don't embarrass me too much, big brother"
The group's first activity was a friendly basketball game at a nearby court. Charles, not known for his basketball skills, tried his best to dribble and shoot hoops.
"Mon dieu, Charles, maybe stick to racing, tu es vraiment nul au basket!" Yn teased him, earning a laugh from the others.
Alexandra chuckled, also teasing him, "Yea, mon cher, maybe stick to the racetrack. Your skills on the court are... how do you say... not impressive."
Charles smirked, replying in kind, "Eh bien, at least I'm a world-class driver, not a basketball player. And Yn you think you’re very funny, Yn. Let's see you try" Charles replied, passing the ball to her.
After a few failed attempts, Yn admitted defeat. "Okay, maybe basketball is not my forte either, it's a twins thing"
The group decided to cool off with some ice cream, sharing laughs and stories. Charles couldn't help but admire the way Joris and Yn interacted—the subtle glances, the shared jokes. It was a reminder of the strong bond they all shared.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following day, the group rented bikes and explored the iconic Venice Beach boardwalk. Charles and Alex shared a tandem e-scooter, while Yn sat on Joris's lap and with Andrea on another.
"Vous avez l'air tellement mignons ensemble!" Alexandra grinned. (You two look so cute together!)
Yn couldn't help but giggle as Joris wrapped his arms around her waist. "Looks like you guys are having fun," Charles shouted from behind them, causing them all to burst out laughing.
Yn blushed, playfully swatting her brother's arm. "Ignorez-lui, il est juste jaloux" Joris calms her before the two siblings start bickering (Ignore him, he’s just jealous)
"Bon, let the race begin!" Charles declared, revving the e-scooter engine.
Andrea struggled to keep up, and Yn couldn't stop giggling at his attempts. The Venice Beach adventure ended with a mini-race, with everyone enjoying the wind in their hair.
Next on the itinerary was a trip from Malibu to Universal Studios. Yn couldn't contain her excitement, especially when they entered The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
"Charles, we need to buy wands!" Yn exclaimed, practically dragging him into Ollivanders.
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good," Yn whispered, holding her wand and exploring the magical surroundings and Charles chuckled, indulging his sister's enthusiasm "You really are a fan, aren't you?"
Yn winked. "Always."
"Charles, you have to try the butterbeer! It's amazing!" she exclaimed, dragging him toward the Three Broomsticks.
"Alright, alright, I'll give it a go," Charles chuckled, letting Yn lead the way.
Meanwhile, Joris and Alexandra rushed behind them, especially behind Yn. "I can't believe we're here," Joris whispered
"Me neither, but it's magical and they seem so excited," she replied, high fiving him.
"Look at her, she's like a kid in a candy store," Alexandra remarked, her arm intertwined with Charles'’ when they finally reached the twins in a merchandise shop.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The group also spent another day at Six Flags, where Charles, Alex, and Yn attempted to persuade Andrea and Joris to go on some thrilling rides.
"I prefer the safety of solid ground," Joris insisted, while Andrea nodded in agreement.
Charles, not one to be deterred, grabbed Joris and Andrea by their arms and playfully dragged them towards the rides.
"Come on, guys! Live a little!" Charles exclaimed.
"Non, non, pas question," Andrea protested (No, no, out of the question)
Joris nodded in agreement. "We'll pass, thanks"
"Come on, Andrea, we'll hold your hand the whole time," Yn said with a grin.
Yn, ever the persuader, looked at Joris with puppy-dog eyes, "Allez, mon amour, just one ride!"
"Yeah, come on, guys! It's all in good fun," Alexandra urged, exchanging a glance with Yn.
Joris resisted, but Yn's persistence paid off. Andrea, on the other hand, was tougher to crack. Charles, feigning violence, grabbed Andrea and Joris by the collars, threatening with a smile, "You're coming with us, whether you like it or not!"
Andrea finally relented, and the four of them headed to the ride. As they waited in line, Charles couldn't resist teasing Andrea about his fear.
"Don't worry, Andrea, I'll protect you," he joked, wrapping an arm around his trainer.
Andrea rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the smile on his face.
The group's day ended with a whimsical game at the carnival section of Six Flags. A victorious throw won them two enormous plushie bananas. Gleefully, they engaged in a playful banana battle, filling the air with laughter and the occasional thud of soft impacts.
"Attention! Incoming banana attack!" Charles shouted unexpectedly.
Laughter echoed as bananas flew through the air, hitting targets with precision. Alexandra threatened Charles, "If you hit me one more time, you're sleeping on the couch tonight!"
"Banana warfare!" Charles laughed, dodging plushie projectiles.
And they engaged in a hilarious banana fight, Joris and Andrea being the main targets.
The evening continued with board games and ping pong. Charles and Andrea engaged in fierce ping pong battles, while Yn and Alexandra shared laughter and girly moments.
"Hey, Yn, let's go shopping tomorrow before we leave," Alexandra said, breaking Yn out of her thoughts.
Yn grinned. "I would love that"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following morning, Alexandra and Yn set out for their much-anticipated shopping trip in the heart of Los Angeles. The city's famed boutiques and exclusive shops awaited their exploration. The sunlit streets beckoned them as they strolled, laughter and excitement filling the air.
Their first stop was a trendy boutique showcasing the latest in Los Angeles fashion. Racks adorned with colorful dresses, stylish accessories, and unique pieces lined the walls. Alexandra and Yn eagerly sifted through the racks, exchanging opinions and approving nods.
"I can't believe how different the styles are here," Yn remarked, holding up a vibrant sundress.
Alexandra nodded in agreement. "It's a whole new world of fashion. I love it!"
After finding some stylish additions to their wardrobes, the duo headed to Shepora, that promised exclusive and makeup brands that are not available in Europe.
Yn's eyes widened as she discovered the vibrant array of products, including makeup from House Glass, and other niche brands that had yet to make their way across the Atlantic.
"Alex, look at this! I've heard so much about this and now we can finally try it" Yn exclaimed, her excitement contagious.
Alexandra, equally thrilled, added a few items to her basket. "And House Glass! I've been dying to get my hands on their products. This is like a beauty paradise."
The duo then ventured into clothing stores that were exclusive to the United States. American Vintage, Brandy Melville, and Forever 21 were on their list, promising a unique shopping experience with styles not commonly found in their European wardrobes.
As they explored the racks of clothes and tried on various outfits, the two friends couldn't contain their joy. Yn found a bohemian-style dress at American Vintage that perfectly suited her taste, while Alexandra discovered a trendy jacket at Brandy Melville that she couldn't resist.
With bags full of fashionable finds and exclusive makeup and after a successful shopping spree, the duo met with the rest of the group for a leisurely lunch. They chose a charming outdoor cafe with a relaxed atmosphere, where the California sun cast a warm glow over the scene. The vibrant energy of Los Angeles seemed to follow them, making the meal even more enjoyable.
Charles, Joris, Andrea, Riccardo, Marta, and Antoine were eager to hear about the shopping escapades of the two ladies.
"So, how was the shopping spree, ladies?" Charles asked with a grin.
Yn laughed, "We may have gone a little overboard, but it's all worth it."
Yn and Alexandra couldn't stop sharing their excitement, showcasing their newfound treasures and makeup finds. The group laughed and exchanged stories, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie.
Charles, Joris, Andrea, and the others eagerly greeted Yn and Alexandra, curious about their shopping spoils. The table quickly became a showcase of vibrant fabrics and makeup palettes.
"Wow, those dresses are stunning!" Joris exclaimed, eyeing the bags.
"And look at these makeup goodies! You two are going to turn heads," Charles added with a grin.
"Looks like the shopping trip was a success," Joris remarked, his eyes twinkling.
As they settled into lunch, the conversation flowed seamlessly between bites of delicious California cuisine. Yn and Alexandra recounted their shopping adventures, sharing anecdotes about the unique styles and products they discovered.
"Next time, we're all going shopping together!" exclaimed Marta, glancing at the fashionable purchases.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the city of angels, the group bid farewell to the vibrant streets of Los Angeles. Early the next morning, they would embark on the next leg of their journey, heading to the Vegas Grand Prix.
The excitement in the air was palpable as they boarded the plane, their hearts still buzzing with the memories of the Californian adventure. Ahead lay the glittering lights of Las Vegas, where the roar of engines would once again take center stage in the world of Formula 1.

As you lovelies might have seen on other posts, depending on how the shuffled queue puts these out, I spread the Disney love from the Disney day of the event around to all my various fandoms! For The Outsiders, I loved thinking about and then writing about what Disney World hotels each Greaser would love the most, if they ever became rich enough to go to modern day Disney World! I hope you wonderful people enjoy!
Tumblr media
I really do strongly headcanon Darry as being someone who is into architecture. He might not know all the technical terms and all the different styles and such, but he appreciates them all and does want to learn more about architecture. He went to work helping build houses, so houses and architecture and buildings became an interest of his that spun into a passion. Because of his love for architecture, his favourite Disney hotel is one that has some unique architectural features. He really loves the Animal Kingdom Villas, even if he can’t afford to stay in them. He’s especially a fan of Kidani Village.
Sodapop just can’t relax and feel right if the hotel’s too fancy-smancy, unlike his brothers. He prefers simple and comfortable and a less fancy atmosphere suits him best. Not only are the cabins at Fort Wilderness simple and rustic, but the resort also allows him to go trail riding and to really be around and interact with horses in a very rustic, nature-filled setting. It’s not something he really gets much of but it’s something he truly loves, so that has to be his favourite by far.
Ponyboy actually does have a taste for the elegant and fancy of bygone ages. There’s just something that really hits him, emotionally and mentally, about that architectural style and those kinds of surroundings. Because of that, he definitely would prefer a statelier hotel. I think the Grand Floridian really attracts Ponyboy’s attention and he would be really pulled to everything about that hotel. The others might tease him about it, but everything about it just hits him perfectly.
Steve cares more about a hotel’s amenities than what the hotel itself looks like. He isn’t going to be someone who spends a lot of time just lazing around in the room and only cares about whether he’ll have fun and interesting things to do. Because he is someone who really loves sports and being physical, it’s no surprise that his favourite Disney World hotel ended up being the All-Star Sports Resort. He really likes the arcade at that one, but also the theming and the jogging trails there. He and the boys also definitely goof around at the playground and get told off by at least a handful of parents.
Dally honestly doesn’t give too much of a shit about the hotel he stays at. He really doesn’t. He’ll be fine in any of them, especially since he’s mostly using them as a place to lay his head and has plans on stealing everything he can from them anyway. What matters the most to Dally is the parks since that’s what he’s there for. His favourite land in Disney World is Hollywood Studios so he does prefer the hotels that are within walking distance of that land. Out of those, I think he has a mild preference for the Boardwalk Inn, mostly for its pool. He really enjoys that waterslide and definitely races with the other boys to see who has the fastest time going down it.
Johnny is a lot like Soda in that he can’t really get comfortable in a lot of the hotels. They’re just a little too fancy for him and he’d enjoy roughing it just a bit more. He’s also like Soda in that he loves Fort Wilderness, but Johnny, who is used to sleeping on the ground, actually prefers the campsites at Fort Wilderness. He finds camping fun and it’s made all the better by the lush forest and all the interesting things that the resort has going on. He’d also be a big fan of the recreation options at the resort as well, especially the trails, the nightly bonfires, and he’d actually turn out to enjoy and be fairly good at archery.
Two-Bit really enjoys the novelty and fun of the really heavily themed resorts. He doesn’t want fancy luxury but instead would opt for smaller rooms but more fun surroundings. Because of this, he’s really fond of Disney’s ‘All-Star’ resorts. However, his absolute favourite has to be the Pop Century Resort, for it’s bright colours and whimsical theming. Plus, it has the Skyliner, which Two-Bit really does enjoy just a tad too much as he rides it every day they’re there.

Organization Members at An Amusement Park
Suggested by: 4ddictwithapencil. You can find the original ask here. You mentioned Disney, so let’s just assume that they’re all in Disney world in Florida. The links for the hotels and such lead to either pictures or Youtube Vids that I could find where you can actually tour the room<3  I highly recommend looking up the hotels online if you don’t know what they look like!
Xemnas
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Hotel: The Royal Suite in The Four Seasons Resort
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Wildlife Express Train and Spaceship Earth
People move out of his way when he walks toward wherever he’s going. Lines to rides, lines to food, front seats at different attractions? They always move aside for him.
Purposely moves away from most of the Organization members to find stuff he’s interested in. Spends a lot of time in the regular exhibits instead of the actual rides
Likes a lot of the desserts that you can find across the parks, such as the Macarons aux Framboises at Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie in Epcot. All the fancy stuff is what he’s all about
Spends most of his time in the World Showcase in Epcot, examining the various countries. Loves going to the different shops and seeing the merchandise he can buy.  He’s the guy that buys the $1000 merchandise you always dream about getting.
Xigbar
Favorite Park: Hollywood Studios
Favorite Hotel: Park View Suite at the Four Seasons Orlando Resort
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Expedition Everest and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Will hit on one of the Disney princesses and get into a near scuffle with Gaston. Doesn’t like to wait in lines, though, but will somehow sweet talk his way to the front of the line
Excellent at any shooting games, like the Toy Story Mania game.  Will always get the highest score out of all of the Organization members.
Never goes to Disney without stopping by Italy in Epcot to get himself a bunch of cannolis or sushi from Japan.  Could honestly just stay there and eat a little from each country.
That guy that uses the gym at the hotel every morning before anyone else wakes up
Xaldin
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom - or Typhoon Lagoon!
Favorite Hotel: The Cabins at the Fort Wilderness Resort
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Jungle Cruise and DINOSAUR
Loves the animal attractions!!!  Nearly gasped aloud when he found out that there was a place in Animal Kingdom where you could actually watch the vets take care of and do examinations on the animals.  He thought it was awesome and super interesting!
Will get up early with Lexaeus and get the two of them coffee to start the day as everyone else wakes up.  Is no longer allowed to get coffee for Zexion because Lexaeus says he gets too hyper.
Also likes the Disney Water Park, even though it gets really crowded and there are too many small children there.  He doesn’t care about the children themselves; it’s just that the parents don’t watch them and he gets annoyed.  Loves all of the water slides, though, and can definitely sit and relax with an ice cream cone at one of the lounge chairs.
Vexen
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Hotel: Any room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Favorite Ride/Attraction: It’s A Small World and Star Tours
Unapologetically likes it’s a small world and will happily - loudly - sing the song for hours.  Also likes Star Tours or anything to do with space because he finds it interesting.
Likes to spend time at Downtown Disney - and hates that they changed the name to Disney Springs.  Definitely bought himself a fake, light-up lightsaber that he annoys the other members with.
Will definitely go to the spa and get a facial, complete with cucumber over the eyes and a mani-pedi to go with it.
Lexaeus
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: Copper Creek Cabins at the Wilderness Lodge
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Maharajah Jungle Trek and Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor
Gets up early and stays out at the parks late to stay with the other kiddos after the adults have all gone back to the hotels.  Wants to get his money’s worth and wants to make sure everyone has done what they wanted to do that day.
Usually forgets to do what he wants to do, but always has fun watching other people.
Carries one of those giant reusable cups that you can refill at any Disney restaurant so there’s something for everyone to have when they inevitably forget to refill their own drinks.  Also always has a churro in one hand.  He loves the damn things.
LOVES the giant Turkey legs.  Once ate four in one sitting.  The manager of that particular restaurant was so impressed, there’s a small plaque with his name on it next to a picture of him and Goofy both holding turkey legs.
Zexion
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Mission Space and Mad Tea Party
Will not go on It’s a Small World.  Never again.  Those creepy ass dolls haunted his dreams for months.
When he met Belle for the first time??? Heart eyes.  They talked about books for about twenty minutes until one of the Disney park guys said he had to move on because there were kids who wanted to meet the princess.
Likes to buy souvenirs, particularly if they’re things like puzzles, books, or little Disney science experiments.  Before they implemented the program where they would send your purchases directly to your room, he used to make Lexaeus carry his stuff around for him.
Saix
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, The Captain’s Deck Suite
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Soarin’ and Muppet Vision 3D
Has a plan okay.  Knows when each ride gets super crowded, knows which to go to first, knows what to save for last, knows which they should use their Fast Passes on, and knows when the lines for food are going to be faster and shorter.  He came prepared and is ready to take on Disney World like a WWII soldier storming the Bay of Normandy.
Cannot go to Disney with the whole group.  They will argue all the time and nothing will get done.  Much prefers for them all to separate and go off into groups of two and three so everyone can have a good time and he can stay organized while he has fun.
Axel
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: Animal Kingdom Lodge in the Royal Asante Presidential Suite
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Space Mountain and Test Track
Loves action packed roller coasters and anything that makes his adrenaline shoot up.  Could ride space mountain six times in a row and not get bored.
Usually the guy who helps everyone have fun in long lines by telling jokes and playing games.
Can eat whatever he wants and will not get sick after he rides a ride, but put him on the spinning teacups and he’ll get so ill and dizzy that he’ll be out of commission for the rest of the day.
Demyx
Favorite Park: Hollywood Studios
Favorite Hotel: All-Star Music Resort
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Festival of the Lion King or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
The man isn’t really into the whole rides and excitement.  I mean, yeah, he likes it obviously, and he won’t leave the park without going on all of the exciting rides at least once, but he’s more into the music and the atmosphere.  Loves Hollywood Studios because of the various shows and music things, etc.
Most likely to spend his time taking pictures with and dabbing with the princesses, but Tinkerbell is his favorite person to see.
Always up for seeing any concerts in Hollywood Studios under the mickey hat.
Luxord
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Hotel: The Grand Suite at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Favorite Ride/Attraction: The Great Movie Ride and Carousel of Progress
Kind of like Xemnas in the sense that his favorite place to be is the World of Nations in Epcot.  He really enjoys just sitting outside at one of the restaurants and drinking cappuccino and people watching.
Will somehow end up spending hours at the golf course at Saratoga Springs with Xemnas or, on one memorable occasion, he joined Larxene at the spa for a massage.
Marluxia
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: The Treehouse Villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Living with the Land and The Oasis Exhibits
His favorite thing is, obviously, the Annual Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot, but he does like looking at the animal habitats in the Animal Kingdom.  Has definitely stolen a few leaves and plant buds to add to his garden at home.
Ends up chatting with someone near one of the nature exhibits and is so informatory that a crowd forms because everyone thinks that he works at the park.
Larxene
Favorite Park: Hollywood Studios
Favorite Hotel: Bora Bora Bungalows in the Polynesian Village Resort
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (rip this great ride) and Haunted Mansion
Anything that makes her jump and her stomach head up to her throat? She’s totally into.  Will spend most of the time in line at the Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror trying to make the other Organization members jump.
Buys a lot of Disney merch, particularly T-shirts that she can sleep in.  They’re so soft and comfortable and they always last a long time, so she has a growing stack that’s taken up a permanent spot in her closet.
Roxas
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: Pop Century Hotel
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Kali Water River Rapids and Splash Mountain
THE FOOD.  Oh God, the food.  Dole Pineapple Whip, the Gray Stuff at Belle’s Castle, the giant Turkey Legs, the churros, the mickey ice cream cones.... will want to try everything and will have a huge stomachache by the end of the day.
Loves the Lion King Musical Performance Show.  He thinks it’s one of the coolest things he’s ever seen and he will absolutely be singing along with all of the songs
Xion
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom
Favorite Hotel: The Art of Animation Hotel
Favorite Ride/Attraction: Kilimanjaro Safari and Illuminations Light Show
A literal princess.  Likes to experience a little bit of everything.  The pretty colors and sights and smells and EVERYTHING are just so wonderful and new to her.
Has to get souvenirs from every single store they pass.  Loves giant stuffed animals and little knick knacks because they are literally too cute for words.
Was extremely disappointed when they told her that she was too old to get a makeover at the princess boutique, but then (surprisingly) Xemnas sent them such a horrific glare for hurting her feelings that they gave her a makeover anyway.  She had sparkles in her hair for the rest of the week.

Moving To Naples Florida
Once numbering as many as 10,000 people, the Calusa were ruled by a single chief, supported a nobility and strong military force, dug canals, built huge mounds of shell and earth for their temples and important buildings, and collected tribute from towns and villages reaching all the way across southern Florida to the Atlantic.
Known as the Paradise Coast, Collier County has more than 30 miles of sandy white beaches. Once, the only people to stroll Naples' seven miles of white, sandy beaches, were the Caloosa Indians. Collier County had grown from 85,971 residents in 1980 to 251,377 residents in 2000—and to 322,739 by 2010.
The Naples area is home to several major land reserves, including the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Everglades National Park , Big Cypress National Preserve , Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, and Picayune Strand State Forest The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is known not only for its 11,000 acres (45 km2) of landscape and wildlife, but for a two and a half-mile long boardwalk winding through the sanctuary.
Because of its vast areas of undeveloped preserve lands, Collier County is the primary habitat for the severely endangered Florida panther(Florida's state animal), which roams through the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge and Collier-Seminole State Park.
The Gulf Coast portion of the Everglades is the only place on earth where alligators and crocodiles cohabitate and is also home to North America's largest continuous mangrove forest. According to Smart-Zip, there are 78 golf courses in Collier County—one for every 4,418 residents.
Choose from charming beach cottages, towering beachfront condominiums, custom architectural masterpieces, contemporary single-family homes, condos, villas, carriage and town homes in gated, master-planned communities; expansive horse farms, and manufactured homes.
The 729,000 acre preserve allows more recreational activities than a National Park, such as hunting and off road vehicle use. When considering living in Naples you may be wavering between the Gulf Coast and the East Coast of Florida. The Second List: Here's a typical Pro Con list from someone who's lived in Florida a few years or longer and the honeymoon is over because they know what living in Florida is really like (for them).
The area's unrivaled sport fishing, hunting, boating, sun bathing, and beach combing attract people today just as it did a century ago. Hikers taking ranger-guided swamp walks in Big Cypress National Preserve and Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park are often surprised by the relatively pleasant conditions in the area's cypress swamps.
Naples (as well as much of Florida) is made up of retirees who don't have kids in school and don't support politically the schools, especially issues that impact taxes. Naples along with the Everglades and Marco Island are known as the Paradise Coast. College choices include Hodges University and Florida South-Western State College (formerly Edison State College), which are in town, as well as Florida Gulf Coast University, which is just a 30-minute drive away.
Several cottages were built by Haldeman and a lot of his early guests were his employees or friends. Some of the best beaches in the county include Naples beach with its iconic pier stretching 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico and Barefoot Beach Preserve which was ranked #2 on Dr. Beach's Top Ten USA Beaches for 2015.
There are approximately 100 art galleries in the greater Naples area, extending from Gallery Row in downtown Naples all the way out to the Big Cypress Gallery in the Everglades - the studio of famed black and white nature photographer Clyde Butcher, known as the Ansel Adams of the Everglades” for his stunning, large format black & white Everglades landscapes.
The world class Artis-Naples, home to the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and concert hall and the Baker Museum of Art, has helped put Naples on the map as a premiere cultural destination, as have the area's many nationally recognized art festivals. Specific schools, yes, but the school system in general has a poor reputation-especially comparing it to the NE or MW. No one moves to Florida for the schools.
And housing … $350,000 will buy you a spacious three-bedroom, two-bath, pool home with a lake or golf course view in Naples, but it will barely afford you a one-room, closet-sized apartment in Manhattan, a cozy two-bedroom condo in Chicago , plus you'd have to shell out an additional $30,000 for a parking spot, or a 1960s, two-bedroom ranch with about 1,000 square feet of living in Napa, California.
Naples Florida is a tropical paradise with its sugar sand beaches fine dinning and fine art scene. This makes Naples a magnet no many seeking that tropical sun soaked lifestyle. Many Florida Moving Companies offer their biggest discount during off peak season which is October - March so plan accordingly.

Ten inspiring outdoor living spaces for dining and socialising this summer
As spring approaches in the northern hemisphere, it's time to start preparing for sunnier days and warmer evenings. For this lookbook, we've rounded up ten inviting spaces featuring outdoor furniture for relaxed al-fresco dining and socialising.
Getting together in public spaces may still be restricted in much of the world over the coming months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Domestic gardens, courtyards and patios could well be the best place for sharing quality time with friends and family this spring and summer. Read on for 10 inspiring ideas from the Dezeen archives.
This is the latest roundup in our Dezeen Lookbook series providing visual inspiration for the home. Previous articles in the series showcased living rooms with statement shelving, green kitchen interiors, peaceful bedrooms and designer bathrooms.
Guadalajara House, Mexico, by Alejandro Sticotti
This house in Guadalajara, Mexico makes the most of the benign climate with an L-shaped, open-sided gallery that extends from the home to provide a cool space for dining and relaxing.
The gallery, which is paved in polished stone, features two zones. The dining area features a twelve-seater wooden table set next to an outdoor fireplace while the lounge area consists of a cushion-strewn, timber-framed sofa, leather Butterfly Chairs and a large, square coffee table.

House of Flowers, US, by Walker Warner
This plein-air dining zone is at a California winery but its rustic style could equally work in a domestic garden or courtyard. Here, visitors can enjoy a glass of wine in the sun while sitting against a warm adobe wall.
Built-in wooden benches are matched with sturdy tables and rough-hewn wooden stools. Tables are decorated with simple bouquets from the garden.

Jaffa apartment, Israel, by Pitsou Kedem
This sea-facing Jaffa apartment in a historic building has a narrow courtyard that is used for outdoor dining during the summer months. A glossy dining table is easy to wipe down and is complemented by practical plastic chairs.
The ancient stone walls and concrete floor are softened by shrubs and climbers set in oval planters.

Garden pavilion, UK, by 2LG Studio
British interior designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead of 2LG Studio built themselves a white-stained pavilion in their back garden that is used as a dining space and for socialising when the weather allows.
The raised pavilion is clad in slatted timber and serves as a covered dining area. Wide timber decking adds a touch of the seaside boardwalk to the ensemble.

Casa 4.1.4, Mexico, by AS/D
This multigenerational weekend retreat in Mexico features four separate dwellings arranged around a courtyard that is paved in granite and bisected by a shallow rivulet.
Extending from one of the lodges is a steel pergola with a canopy of slatted timber. This creates a shady spot for family dinners that is furnished with a teak table, dining chairs and benches. An outdoor kitchen allows prep and cooking to be done outside.

Mykonos holiday home, Greece, by K-studio
A walnut pergola covered in traditional reeds provides shade for the outdoor living space at this holiday home in Mykonos. Consisting of a lounge area and a ten-seater dining table, the generous stone terrace looks across an infinity pool towards the ocean.
"To create a house that would allow guests to enjoy being outside throughout the day we needed to filter the overwhelming intensity of the climate by providing shade and protection from the elements," said architect K-studio.

Country House, Italy, by Studio Koster
Studio Koster's Italian Country House near Piacenza has an idyllic outdoor dining space set amid a cottage-style garden. The setting, close to a timber wall, provides shelter from breezes while lava gravel provides a rustic, low-maintenance touch.
Steel-framed chairs with rattan seats plus poufs with woven covers – both by Italian brand Flexform, which furnished the house for a photoshoot – give the space an eclectic feel.

Villa Fifty-Fifty, The Netherlands, by Studioninedots
This dining space in Villa Fifty-Fifty in Eindhoven is both indoors and outdoors. Folding glass doors peel back to turn the room into a loggia that is open to a courtyard on one side and a densely planted border on the other.
Quarry tiles and statement plants in terra-cotta pots add a taste of sunnier climes while the only furniture is a chunky dining table and a set of Elbow Chairs designed by Hans J Wegner for Carl Hansen & Son.

House B, Austria, by Smartvoll
An outdoor dining area sits on a split-level concrete terrace outside this house in Austria, which was an extension and renovation of an existing building. The dining table, made of dark wood to contrast with the pale cement, is set close to the house to protect it from the elements.
Large potted oleanders protect the dining space from view on the upper level of the patio while squash vines planted in a circular void spill over the lower level.

The White Tower, Italy, by Dos Architects
This bright white house in Puglia has an outdoor dining space with a simple, elegant design. Directors' chairs with beige canvas seats give it an outdoorsy, camping-like feel and match the pale-wood table. A pergola made of slender steel columns is shaded with canes.
Two decorative table objects in green break up the beige colour scheme and add a simple but elegant touch.

This is the latest in our series of lookbooks providing curated visual inspiration from Dezeen's image archive. For more inspiration see previous lookbooks showcasing green kitchen interiors, peaceful bedrooms, calm living rooms and colourful kitchens.

All You Need to Know About Disney Beach Club Villas
One of the first Disney Vacation Club additions at Walt Disney World is Disney Beach Club Villas. It is a Deluxe Villa Resort. In this guide, we shall talk about the resort's amenities at large and compare other DVC properties around Walt Disney World. There is a plethora of similarities between Crescent Lake (Epcot) results and Beach Club.
One thing many of us should know is that the Beach Club Villas is immensely beautiful. The resort has a plethora of amenities and a stunning, wonderfully laid-back atmosphere, and it is also considered ideal for vacation. The resort is located in a tortoise green Y-shaped building, behind the Beach Club's blue tower.
Ideally, the majority of the people love the location of the Beach Club Villas. You can walk through the Solarium as the lobby is pretty convenient to access. In simple terms, you can easily access the Beach Club Marketplace. Hence, we can say that the property is one of the best and leaves no stone unturned in pampering its visitors.
You will find two quiet areas in Walt Disney World. The Drawing Room and the Breezeway when you pass by the Beach Club Villas' lobby. The Drawing Room is similar to a mini-community Hall, featuring a billiards table, television, and other things. The breezeway is way better because it is beautiful and has some airy space, including some cool artwork and thematic touches.
Dunes Cove Pool is a nice and quiet pool that most people enjoy. It is a significant selling point for booking, and sometimes there is too much crowd out there. Disney Boardwalk Villas also have Dunes Cove Pool if you want a more relaxed atmosphere. You won't find any restaurant here. But you will indeed find that the property shares facilities with the Yacht & Beach Club, and all of which are accessible easily. It includes Beaches & Cream, Cape May Café, Hurricane Hanna's, and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Above all, you can find quickly some delicious food that too at a reasonable price. It only takes around 15 minutes to walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Hence, we assure you that you will be in paradise.

Walt Disney World Resorts Guide
Tumblr media
Heyday Travel Company is here to help you choose the best Walt Disney World resort for you.  Beyond just the numbers (location, tier, amenities onsite, etc.), we’ll also give you our personal opinions for any places we’ve stayed at.  While we’ve made our way around to many of the locations, we haven’t gotten to all of them, yet! Fortunately, where we may not have stayed, we likely know someone that has and can always get a firsthand opinion for you.  Heyday Travel also provides an ongoing update for construction at the resorts and restaurants.  We stay up to date on these so that we may help you plan your best Walt Disney World vacations. Since our reviews are not aggregated (like ‘leading’ websites on the web), you’ll be able to find some consistency with what we say.  This, of course, can be double-edged. While this absolutely weeds out any uninformed opinions, it also means you’re receiving only our point of view.  This, of course, means we may disagree with your personal experience and opinions at times too. Have no fear though, just because we may not like a location for our personal tastes and preferences doesn’t mean we can’t or won’t identify it as lining up with yours!  We’ve met plenty of people that disagree with our likes and have even vacationed with a few. Agree or disagree, you can trust that any opinions expressed here are from someone that has firsthand experience.   For this initial article, we’ll give you a broad highlight of each area, it’s resorts and overall general information.  In other blogs, you’ll be able to find more detailed information and reviews for each. Don't forget to read our other blogs about Planning the Core of Your Trip and our Planning Timeline.
DISNEY RESORT CLASSIFICATIONS
Disney loves to categorize things, so it’s no surprise that they’ve developed a hierarchy for their resorts. Deluxe Resorts: These resorts have the most extensive theming throughout, will have themed pools with slides and quiet pools, offer a food court, table service restaurants (with signature dining also available at most), a lounge bar, and a pool bar.  These resorts tend to be closest to the parks with several transportation options. If you’re looking for options and amenities, these will be your best choice resort.Deluxe Villa Resorts: These rooms are part of the Disney Vacation Club (Disney’s version of a timeshare).  Although these rooms are part of DVC, some rooms are available for general cash bookings. These rooms offer suites with more space.  Some of these suites even offer full kitchens, in-room laundry, and multiple bedrooms/bathrooms. Many are attached to Deluxe resorts offering access to those amenities.  Those that are not attached still offer the same deluxe and upscale amenities.Moderate Resorts: These resorts have moderate theming, although they do offer heavily themed rooms (Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach offer Royal and Pirate themed rooms respectively).  The grounds tend to be gorgeously landscaped even if they aren’t very “Disney” themed per se. The pools are not as themed as Deluxe resorts and may offer a slide although not as large as those found at Deluxe pools and also offer quiet pools.  Moderate resorts offer a food court, a table service restaurant, a lounge bar, and a pool bar.Value Resorts: These family-friendly resorts have some of the most “Disney-esque” grounds and theming of all of the resorts.  You’ll see colorful buildings with giant (read multi-story) Disney icons, sports equipment, etc. flanking the buildings. These resorts will have 1 large themed pool and several other smaller pools available.  There are no slides at these pools but may have “spray areas” and/or children’s pools. Value resorts have quick service food courts and in-room pizza delivery available, as well as a bar area near the pool. DELUXE & DELUXE VILLA RESORTS

HOW TO CHOOSE A DISNEY RESORT
So now that you’ve decided you want to stay on-property, how do you choose which resort?  There are nearly innumerable considerations, but let us give you some factors to consider: Cost: Of course, right?  Your budget will absolutely play a part and something you’ll want/need to consider.Location: With your budget in mind, think about how you want this trip to go.  Will you be focusing on just one or two parks? Will you be going to multiple? Hopping between multiple each day?  These things may impact where you want to be.  Room Quality: Yes, you’ll be able to save some money staying at a Value resort.  However, if you expect to spend a considerable amount of time in the room you may not enjoy it as much as if you were at a Moderate or a Deluxe.Size of your group: With greater numbers come more considerations.  Especially if you expect your group will break-up during the day.  Some may stay back for the pool while others go park hopping. Would you like to split up rooms or try to all be in the same suite?Theme: All Disney resorts will have a theme or some theming.  There is a significant difference though between the theming at Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach, and Art of Animation.Dining: The resorts with the greatest quality and selection are those in the Epcot area.  Not only do you have significant in-resort options but also relatively easy access to the World Showcase and Epcot and Disney Springs.Amenities and Recreation: This is something else to genuinely consider if you intend to spend significant time at the resort.  Some resorts offer unique recreation opportunities and more elaborate pools. Most of these are still available to you even if at another resort, they’ll just be less convenient.Nightlife: The Epcot and Disney Springs resort areas offer the most nightlife options for you.  The extensive happenings at the Boardwalk and the numerous bars and restaurants at Disney Springs.
