i've figured out the my writing process is to write in a non-stop stream of consciousness and then go through and weed out all the unnecessary world-building i've rambled about for paragraphs so the story is actually readable and, y'know, a story and not an in depth manual on my headcanons on how various things in the world work that occasionally breaks out into plot.

#help me i am cursed to need an explanation for every single thing in every story i write ever #i just spent a fuckton of time the other night explaining how the binocucoms in sly cooper work under the guise of explaining it to Kid #only to realize that i could in fact keep it kinda vague and remove the majority of it #because the point of the scene was 'haha funny cowboy surprised by video'#not 'here's an explanation of how the binocucom and earpiece are connected by bluetooth and how to navigate the controls'#like no this isn't a manual you pedantic bitch just slap it with the 'future tech' label and move on #y'know how tolkien had to write stuff down to keep consistent world building bc his son would point out contradictions?#yeah me and his son are kindred spirits istg

My mom bought the ugliest ass little freak of a 3D printed alien, just because. It's supposed to be like, one of those phone holder thingies.

Caved and got a new iPad. I couldn’t get the drawing tablet to work with my laptop and my old iPad didn’t have much storage and so it couldn’t be updated to keep up with drawing apps :( so I finally caved and got a new one. Now I just have to get used to the thing and the program. It’s been at least six years since I last used an iPad. I feel like how I feel when I show my mom how to use her phone. I don’t understand why they got rid of home buttons. Seems stupid to me. Especially when the screen freezes, but whatever

anyway, it's always funny to me when a phone is rated 4/5 stars and the reason it's missing a star is because it has a mediocre camera... and it doesn't have wireless charging... and its screen isn't blindingly bright.

basically, they're rating a 5/5 phone as a 4/5... for having more good features. i don't want to pay for useless camera features i won't use! i don't want to sear my retinas off! and i don't want to use wireless charging! these are all wins for me!

Okay I updated to windows 11 bc my laptop finally got really annoying about it.

And I knew it would be annoying as shit but omg.

Ik I’m primarily a mac person and people have opinions on that but in the last. Two. Days I’ve had both the audio driver (?) not work. I had to restart my laptop bc it wouldn’t play. Audio out of the speakers. An issue I’m very baffled by but whatever. And it just randomly decided to crash. No reason. It booted up p quickly but like. Why. I’m running a single app?

Also. Also. I don’t like the look. They went in with rounded rects here but I’m sorry. It reminds me of chromebook’s os and I hate that. There’s no valid reason for that but it makes me angry on a level I can’t explain

**edit. Sorry bc I forgot to be angry about the whole. Troubleshooting experience with the audio driver.

Bc I did the trouble shoot. It said it needed to restart to update the drivers. I was like great yes restart. And then it just went on with the trouble shoot after a sec. WHY WOULDNT IT JUST RESTART RIGHT THEN. it asked me if I wanted to restart. IF I SAY YES THEN DO IT? Don’t make me manually do it. That makes no sense. And yeah sure if you needed to save things but then why would I have clicked restart before doing that??? So anyways I did the trouble shoot like three times bc I was confused why it didn’t just do the restart. Bc it would continue and tell me it found the issue and so it would make sense that it would fix that once it found it but -
