Shut Up | V.
summary: You aren’t officially apart of the Vees, but dating Vox merely intensifies what the rest of the sinners, and his business partners, believe.
pairing: Vox x overlord!reader
includes: smut: exhibitionism, masochism, degradation, fluff, Valentino being weird, talks about death, talks about porn (that’s all, let me know if I missed any!)
a/n: this is my first time writing a one-shot like this which was really interesting to write 🤷♀️ we’ll see how this goes
You were never openly advertised to be a part of the Vees. You just happened to be there for almost all of their businesses and deals. Sure, you did live in the same building as them and work alongside them, but there was never an official declaration of you joining the Vees. There were two reasons you were protected against all the sinners who wondered why you were always in the public eye with them.
One, you were a quiet overlord. And two, you were dating the company’s forefront boss: Vox, the technological demon.
Though you kept all your soul deals hushed from the public, all the sinners knew what you were capable of, staying clear of your path. It just so happened that Vox was able to snag you for himself, being the only one to truly enjoy you as yourself, despite Velvette and Valentino also witnessing each interaction.
“What’s on your schedule today?” Vox sipped on his black coffee, adjusting you in his lap.
You tap away on your phone as you take a small drink from his cup. “Uh, I think I have a meeting with Diane about the money she owes me. Then Velvette needs to steal me to model some clothes for her new line.”
He hummed, eyes flickering across the different monitors in his room. “Is that all?”
Nodding, you shut your phone off and smiled prettily up at him, pearly whites on display. “Why? Want me all to yourself?” You shift in his lap, straddling him instead.
“I wouldn’t be opposed to such things.” He trailed a claw up your arm. “Sadly, I have meetings upon meetings today.”
“Boo.” You kiss the corner of his screen, feeling soft static on your lips. He squeezes your waist as you move off of him, “Text me if you need to reach me.”
“I always do.” He pressed a kiss to your hand. “Love you.”
“Love you more.” You snap your fingers, appearing in front of your favorite sinner’s house. “Diane, here I come.” You mutter as the dirt and blood from the ground accumulate on your heels.
The meeting with Diane was short and sweet, only taking twenty minutes to collect your money from her. In fact, you had more time to visit the rest of your souls before heading to the Vee tower. To be fair, most sinners you dealt with either died from exterminations or died from your own hands, not being able to pay their debt. It was nice to have a soul who was willing to commit to your every beck and call.
“Babes, focus.” Velvette snapped her fingers in front of you, changing your outfit. “What do you think about this one?”
Your hands come down to your waist, glancing in the mirror. “It’s alright. The puffy sleeves are a no-go though.” You watch as she jots down your notes, muttering to herself about stupid sleeves before snapping another pair of clothes on you. “How many outfits did you create for this new line?”
“About thirty or so, I can’t really keep track.” Velvette circled to your front, tilting her head at the color. “This color doesn’t necessarily represent me, no?”
You shake your head, “It’s more… more angelic than Velvette.”
“Right, thank you.” She flicks her wrist, changing the color to match her brand. “You know, Voxy wouldn’t stop groaning about you being busy all day.” You raise a brow at her words, letting her switch your outfit again. “He was all pissy when Val said he’d try to recruit you to be in one of his films again. Val almost lost a wing during that meeting, it was hilarious.”
“I’d rather work for you than Val.” You grimace at the thought. Since landing in Hell, the only person you had gotten intimate with was Vox. You would rather die with Carmine weapons than star in one of his adult films. “Do you know when Vox’s meetings are done?”
“Do I look like his fucking assistant?” She flicked her hair back as she looked at you with an unimpressed expression. “He’s your boy toy.”
“Fuck off.” You flip her off and pull your phone out, sending a quick message to Vox, to which he responds with a Facetime call.
“What’s wrong?” His eye twitched as if he were to murder a low-life sinner. “Who hurt you?”
“No one?” You furrow your brows but roll your eyes when Velvette snickers from behind you. “I was just going to ask when your last meeting is.”
“Just ended.” He let out a breath, squinting his eyes when you flip the camera to show the shorter overlord. “Velvette, don’t overwork her.”
“She’s standing here pretty, asshole.” She scoffed at him. “You’re free to visit while I finish up.”
“Let’s just do a movie night in our penthouse.” You toss up, earning groans from both overlords. “Fine, screw you too.”
“I love you, but I can’t do another movie night where we watch Val’s porn films starring him.” Velvette rubbed her forehead at the thought. The thought alone sends shivers down your spine. “Anyone but Val can pick the movie.”
“I’ll pick it since you all want to be babies about it.” You sigh as she snaps your original clothes back on. “Someone tell Valentino.”
“Already sent a message.” Vox locked eyes with you through the screen. “I’ll see you both in a bit.”
“Bye, handsome.” You sent kisses toward him. You hummed to yourself as you hopped off the platform Velvette placed you on.
“How? Why?” Velvette shook her head at you. “I don’t get it, not at all. You two are so fucking disgusting.”
That wasn’t the first time she said that either. Or Valentino. They eventually just learned to live with you two after they once walked in on you and Vox in his monitor room… Not a fun surprise. Especially when Valentino wanted to record. Velvette learned to knock for once but still found all your lovey-dovey couple shit disgusting. However, it did boost her business when you both went out with matching outfits made by her.
“Mm, Vox—!” You giggle against his lips as your hands find his shoulders to balance you. “They’ll be here any minute.”
“They both have enough common sense to knock.” He kicked your legs apart. “I haven’t seen you all day. I missed you.”
You shift under him, holding in soft moans from his actions. “Vox…”
“Hm?” He shot a small shock through his finger, causing you to let out a moan. “You once hated those.”
“Shut up.” You grabbed his sweater vest and pulled him in. That was about how far you got until Valentino barged inside with Velvette trailing behind. “Oh, fuck me…”
“Maybe later.” Vox teased, pulling you up from the couch. He flattened out your bunched-up skirt and his vest, giving an agitated smile toward his business partners. “I thought you two learned to knock?”
“Why? Busy fucking?” Valentino maliciously grinned at you, making you shift uncomfortably. “I’m sure you two would—“
“Alright, what movie are we watching bitches?” Velvette plopped herself down on an armchair, letting her legs rest on the armpiece.
Vox muttered out words of murder toward Valentino, pulling you down to sit on his lap to hide his previous hard-on. You lock a hand with him, feeling him rub your palm as the movie starts. And the movie seemed to be more of a success than the last one as Valentino and Velvette’s eyes were immediately glued to the screen. But Vox kept all his attention on you, letting his hands wander across your body.
“What are you doing?” You murmur, grabbing his wrist as it starts trailing up your thigh. “Vox…”
He pressed a kiss to your shoulder, “Yeah?”
“We can’t”
“They’re not even paying attention to us, gorgeous.” His screen dimmed and red streaks appeared.
You roll your eyes but steal the blanket from behind you, draping it over the both of you. “Happy?”
“Very.” His voice was much lower, as he immediately attached himself to your shoulder.
It wasn’t until halfway through the movie that one of them noticed. Sadly, it was Velvette who noticed, meaning there was a much bigger scene being created than the one playing on the television.
“Are you guys seriously fucking right now?” She made a face of disgust, watching you being unable to respond to her.
“Shut up, don’t talk to us.” Vox let out a quiet grunt as you buried your head into his collarbone.
“Vox.” You mumble as a warning as the coil inside you tightens.
He held you closer as you gasped, “Fuck, I got you.”
“I’m out! I’m leaving, I’ll see you all tomorrow when you’re both decent.” Velvette left, dragging Valentino with her when he brought his phone out to record.
“Vox!” He flipped you to lay on the couch the second the elevator door shut, overstimulating your abused parts.
“Such a fucking slut for cock.” He pinched your waist as his hips stuttered. “Fuck, come with me.” You let out a guttural moan as your coil snapped for the third time, grabbing onto him as he finished, feeling him rest his head on your chest. “That was so fucking hot.”
Your chest heaved as you rubbed his back, “That’s because you wanted to get caught, handsome.”
“It worked, didn’t it? I got both of the things I wanted.” He leaned up and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Can I move yet?”
You shake your head, shutting your eyes when he shifts a bit. “Vox.” You whine, tightening your hold on him. “Don’t move.”
“You’re fine, I have you.” He murmured as he pressed small kisses to your face. “We can stay here.” You hum in contentment. “Thank you for indulging in my thoughts.”
You chuckle at his words, “I wanted it too, Vox. But, I think we officially traumatized Velvette.”
“She can go cry about it.” He rubbed your hip before giving you a quick kiss on your sore lips. “I love you, gorgeous.”
“Mm, I love you too, Vox.” You whisper back, letting him tighten his hold on you as the movie ends, sighing in exhaustion.
You might not be publicly introduced to be associated with the Vees, but you were definitely associated with Vox whenever you were in the confines of the Vee Tower.

Bedside Monitors Explained: Functions, Advantages, and Cost Considerations
How do Bedside Monitor Work?
Bedside monitors are essential medical devices designed to continuously track a patient's vital signs in real time. They work by using various sensors and electrodes to capture critical physiological data such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SpO₂), respiratory rate, and sometimes temperature and other parameters, depending on the model.
The monitor is equipped with multiple sensors or probes that are attached to the patient’s body. Once connected, these sensors continuously send data to the bedside monitor. The device processes the data through algorithms to provide accurate, real-time readings.
The monitor displays the data on a screen, often with individual panels for each parameter. The display is typically bright and easy to read, allowing quick assessment. Monitors are usually set up with alarms to alert caregivers if a reading falls outside of a safe range.
Modern bedside monitors can store data over time for trend analysis and are often connected to a central monitoring system.
Bedside monitors play a critical role in patient care by offering accurate, continuous observation, especially in intensive care, emergency departments, and during surgeries.
What are they used to bedside monitor?
Bedside monitors are used to continuously observe and measure a patient's vital signs, providing essential information for healthcare providers to make informed decisions. Here are some common applications scene for bedside monitors:
Intensive Care Units (ICU): Bedside monitors are crucial in ICUs. They track key metrics such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, alerting staff to any changes that may need immediate attention.
Emergency Departments (ED): In emergency settings, bedside monitors are used to assess patients quickly and monitor their stability. They provide real-time data, helping emergency physicians make fast, informed decisions during critical moments.
Operating Rooms (OR): During surgeries, bedside monitors track a patient’s vital signs to ensure they remain stable under anesthesia.
Post-Operative Recovery: After surgery, patients are often monitored until they stabilize.
General Wards and Step-Down Units: Bedside monitors help track vital signs as patients wake from anesthesia and recover, ensuring they respond well and identifying any potential complications.
These monitors allow medical staff to intervene quickly and improve patient outcomes across various medical environments.
What are bedside patient monitors expensive?
Bedside monitors are highly beneficial in healthcare settings due to their ability to provide real-time, continuous monitoring of a patient’s vital signs. Here are some key benefits:
Enhanced Patient Safety: Bedside monitors often include alarms to alert medical staff if any parameter goes beyond a safe range.
Improved Efficiency for Medical Staff: Continuous monitoring reduces the need for frequent manual checks by nurses or doctors, freeing up their time for other patient care tasks.
Better Data for Informed Decision-Making: Bedside monitors collect data over time, allowing healthcare providers to analyze trends and make more informed treatment decisions.
Enhanced Recovery and Post-Operative Care: Any post-operative complications can be detected and addressed promptly, improving recovery outcomes.
Are bedside patient monitor expensive?
The cost of bedside patient monitors can vary widely depending on the monitor’s features, complexity, and brand. Here are some factors that influence bedside patient monitors' price: Features and Functionality, Display Quality and Size, Technology and Connectivity, Durability and Portability
Basic bedside monitors can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. While the upfront cost of bedside monitors can be high, they are considered a valuable investment because they help prevent complications, improve patient outcomes, and enhance workflow efficiency. Many healthcare providers consider the long-term benefits and cost savings in patient care when deciding on the investment.

Thanks for the tag @stormikins!!
I am currently working on a bunch of stuff that I cannot actually share because its for exchanges and bangs, but I've got plenty of backup material for this lmaooo no pressure tags: @nickelkeep @bleuzombie @imbiowaresbitch @rotschopf-thedrow @rowanisawriter @mallaidhsomo and @otemporanerys
Viaticum- Akuze
Report: Project Apophis Dr. Josiah Wayne 01-04-2177 I think we’re getting somewhere. The second test group fared slightly better than the first. Dampening autonomic pain responses gave us an extra three minutes before the non-biotic subject began deteriorating. More interesting, however, is the effect on the biotic subject. Subject experienced powerful, uncontrolled flares resulting in broken monitoring equipment, and lived nearly twice as long as their non-biotic counterpart. I never thought I’d see eezo nodules explode like that. Johnson will be cleaning up the mess for weeks. There is very little material left that is viable for further testing, but we are gathering as much as we are able to make further adjustments to the compound. Ouroboros is transferring the subjects they were able to stabilize back to us. It’ll give us one extra test group before we need to acquire more subjects.
2. The Ties That Bind- mShenko Vampire AU
Blood rushes in Alex’s ears. His vision blurs, and he looks down at the table. He tries to breathe, but his lungs refuse to cooperate. He trusted Kaidan. It’s like his legs have been swept out from under him. The scream building in his mind escapes as a whisper. “It’s your fault. All of it. Everything I’ve been through is because of you.” Betrayal settles like a lead weight in the pit of his stomach. His mouth tastes bitter. The world spins to a halt and closes in around him, and he needs to get out. He turns, stumbling over the leg of his overturned chair and all but runs for the door. Alex doesn’t look back, just keeps moving until he’s out of the house and into the open air of the orchard. It’s a clear night, the breeze cool against his suddenly overheated skin. Above him, the moon is nearly full, and the thick darkness of the heavens is blanketed in stars. They twist and blur in his vision as he struggles to catch his breath. He can’t think straight. Memories flit through his mind at breakneck speed. The searing pain of a brand he received at eight years old. Blood on his own hands. Years of training, fighting, killing. His mother’s voice telling him it wasn’t his fault. He chokes on them, failing to his knees. Instinctively, he spreads his fingers in the grass, digs into the soil beneath. He draws strength from nature, squeezing his eyes shut and fighting for calm.
3. I Shouldn't Hope to Know- mShenko Regency Horror AU
The front parlor of Shepard’s townhouse is eclectic. A collection of model ships, piled books, and tapestries depicting events that occurred in ancient mythologies that Garrus is unfamiliar with. It is far too early in the season for the fire that roars in the hearth; it leaves him with a sheen of sweat that trickles down the back of his neck and soaks the starched collar of his shirt. Shepard, of course, seems perfectly comfortable. It had taken some time for Garrus to acclimate to Shepard’s habit of being half-dressed when he visits, but after all the years of their friendship, he’s no longer uncomfortable with Shepard sitting across from him without shoes or cravat, his shirt untucked and unbuttoned, and his long hair hanging loose over his shoulder. He’s quite certain, however, that he will never be used to the birds. One of them—Garrus has never been able to tell them apart—ruffles its wings and coos softly, settling onto Shepard’s shoulder as he leans back with a tumbler of whiskey in his hand. The other is nowhere in his line of sight, but his eyes dart around the room in search of it. Shepard watches Garrus silently, his free hand flexing through a tremor before he tucks it between his thigh and the arm of his chair. The intensity of his stare is increased by the way the firelight plays against his blue eyes, and Garrus sighs as he reaches for his own drink. “I take it this is not a social call.”
4. Argonauts, chapter 1- mShenko, ME1
The sharp look in Anderson’s eyes bores into Alex; he’s not going to let it go. He nods sharply and presses a button on his end of the table. The center of it illuminates, projecting an image of the clearing they’d dropped in on Eden Prime. A smattering of tall trees surrounds a pond. Between them, metallic spikes stretch toward the sky, breaking the gentle flow of nature. “You said you found these spikes all over the colony. What are they?” Alex stands and leans over the table, staring down at the image for a long moment. The creatures that had overwhelmed Jenkins—gray-skinned monstrosities covered in mechanical tubes and wiring that somehow managed to keep coming for them despite limbs twisted at unnatural angles and crushed by stone from a fall no human would have been able to survive—come from those metallic spears. He can still hear the unearthly screeching, still feel the crackling electricity emanating from their bodies. Suppressing a shudder, he says under his breath, “Sow the teeth of this dragon and defeat the army that springs forth.” A heavy silence hangs in the air as Alex looks up. Three pairs of brown eyes, all focused on him. Expectant. Even Anderson looks to him for answers he doesn’t have. Shit has only just gone sideways, and already he feels the pressure. The heavy weight of an invisible mantle of responsibility settles squarely on his shoulders. “The Geth are using them to turn our own people against us by turning them into biomechanical husks.” He pauses, taking a deep breath before he continues, “I’ve been referring to them as Dragon’s Teeth.” The four of them continue to stare down at the image, the implications thickening the tension palpably. Williams breaks the silence first. “Guess that makes us the Argonauts.” Alex meets her gaze and nods sharply. “And Saren is our Golden Fleece.”
5. Argonauts, chapter 2- mShenko, ME1
“Any chance you two could stop looking like off-duty Marines for five minutes?” Kaidan raises an eyebrow. He’s about as casual as he can get in jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers that have definitely seen better days. Williams is similarly dressed, though her clothes are brand new. “But we are off-duty Marines.” Williams snorts and crosses her arms over her chest. “What exactly is wrong with the way I look?” “You look like authority,” Shepard says. “Authority will scare off the best source of information we’ve got.” Kaidan glances over at Williams, and she shrugs. A criminal informant maybe? “Okay, how do you suggest we look less ‘like authority’?” “Loosen up, maybe slouch a little. Stop scanning the room like you’re looking for threats.” Shepard pauses, fingers tapping lightly against his thigh. “Maybe try untucking your t-shirt, Alenko. Resist the urge to stop them from picking pockets. Do not, under any circumstances, call me sir.”
6. Argonauts, chapter 3- mShenko, ME1
“How would you assure the Alliance public that your loyalties lie with them, given both your familial background and your connection to notable crime lord and so-called ‘Queen of Omega’, Aria T’Loak?” Shepard grips his hand so hard his knuckles go white, and Kaidan moves closer. “I would say that my ten years of service to the Alliance speak for themselves.” Miss al-Jilani nods. “The service that includes an incident on Akuze in which, according to the official story, you were able to escape after the rest of your unit was killed by thresher maws?” “Sorry to interrupt, sir,” Kaidan says, turning Shepard’s attention to him. His ability to appear composed would be uncanny, except the fire in his eyes is a dead giveaway for anyone who is paying attention. “Captain Anderson is asking for you.” Shepard examines Kaidan for a moment before turning back to the reporter. “My apologies, ma’am, but I need to return to my duties.” He turns and starts walking, and Kaidan follows at his heels. “One last question, Commander Shepard!” the reporter shouts. “Do you think humanity will finally get the respect we deserve?” Shepard stops so abruptly that Kaidan has to sidestep to avoid a collision. His hands fist at his sides, and he takes a deep breath. He turns to face her, takes two steps toward her, and says, “What respect is that, Miss al-Jilani?” She takes a step back and opens her mouth, but Shepard continues without giving her time to speak. “The kind of respect humanity is looking for has to be earned. I, for one, am glad to be actually working toward earning that respect.” He turns on his heel and walks away.
7. As yet untitled Durgetash fic- BG3 act 3 and dark urge spoilers
“What a suitably gaudy home you’ve made for yourself, Archduke.” Gortash’s fingers tighten over the top of the chair, but he otherwise has the sense not to show how much the familiar voice startles him. “Nearly as meretricious as the title itself.” Gortash ignores the fear that curls in his stomach, instead allowing the slow spread of a smile across his mouth as he turns to face his uninvited guest. The tiefling lounges like a lion, lazy from the hunt, in a plush chair near the window. A sliver of moonlight glints off the purplish-black scales that mark the draconic blood that runs in his veins, and glowing yellow eyes stare with an intensity so familiar as to be nearly unbearable. Perhaps he has not changed so much as Gortash initially believed. “However did you manage to find yourself here, my dear assassin?” “For all your apparent paranoia,” Calamity begins with a graceful shrug of his broad shoulders. He flicks his wrist, and the candles on a nearby candelabra burst into flame, casting a dim orange glow across his blue skin. “You’ve forgotten to defend against the simplest of illusions. Your tin army cannot see invisible things.”

FANFIC MASTERPOST
HETALIA
Oh My Savage Empire (How Lucky We Are)
Wales throughout the millennia learns one thing: He is beautiful. Over, and over, and over again. It starts with Rome, and gets volleyed from country to country until it all fizzles out once again. He just wants peace. Part one
MY HERO ACADEMIA
Perfection
Touya is a ballerino in training at one of the country’s most prestigious schools. Keigo is a hockey player and scholarship student who’s somehow managed to barge into Touya’s life and make him care about him. But that’s fine, they’re good for each other, always pushing to improve their grades and get better at their sports. They just have to analyse a novel that Touya can’t actually stand, but that’s fine. Touya Todoroki is his own person, after all, not some character to be analysed. Part one Part two
DANGANRONPA
Are You Going To Destroy It?
Ishimaru is supposed to be perfect. He gets perfect grades, enforces the rules as hall monitor, and then goes home to care for his ailing grandfather while his father works long hours to support the three of them. But the simple fact is he’s not perfect, and everything is unravelling his mental state more and more. Being forced to care for the man who ruined his life isn’t helping. Part one
Blood, Guts And Chocolate Cake
Mondo Owada, the Ultimate Bodyguard, is entering a four year contract with one Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the Ultimate Idol. It makes sense, two Ultimates put together for their high school careers, and he could use the steady pay check to send home to Daiya; those medical bills were a bitch, and it was his fault the accident happened in the first place. It was supposed to be easy, guard the cutesy, clean-cut idol from perverts and stalkers, no big deal! However, the world’s perception of Kiyotaka Ishimaru was far different than what the young idol had become. During the first few months before even stepping into Hope’s Peak, he’s more worried for the young boy than he’s ever been for anyone before. Part one Part two Part three
Ouran High School Host Club
A Lilac Rose
Kyo should have expected that her coming out as a trans girl would lead to her friends dragging her on a shopping trip to get new clothes. It was the kind of excitable chaos that was perfectly on-brand for the host club! Still, it’d help if her boyfriend wasn’t actively egging some members on, but that was Kaoru Hitachiin for you. Part one
A Young Ootori’s Notebook
A Young Doctor’s Notebook AU “There’s more than enough to convict you, you know…” Haruhi began, a solemn, regretful look on her face. “That book is decades old,” He waved away, a dry laugh in his voice, “It’s rather sad, if you ask me. The only evidence they’ve collected is a few prescription slips and an old notebook of a dewy eyed, bushy tailed student…“ Part one Part two Part three Part four
Apathetic Consumption
“It’s odd, Tamaki thinks, to be hungry but not wanting to eat.” Tamaki has a bad habit of restricting his meals when things get unduly stressful. Like his life in general, for instance; things can never be easy for him, can they? Part one
Are You Sure This Isn’t The Black Magic Club?
There was always something strange about the host club. Haruhi thinks that learning her friendship group is made up of a werewolf, a witch who can turn himself into a cat, two faeries, a Kitsune and a Brownie/Boggart should be top of the list of weird things in her life. … Honestly, at this point, it barely breaches the top ten… Part one Part two Part three
Atone
Self-punishment, Mori finds, is the best form of atonement. One-shot
Bad Things Happen Bingo
Depressingly Surreal series: Part one | Forced Feeding Part two | Forced to Beg Part three | Attempted Rape Part four | Amputation Part five | Dragging Themselves Along The Ground One-shots: Hidden Scar
Blue Blood Tastes The Same
Tokyo Ghoul AU The smell of “Commoner’s” coffee and blood hung in the air, and Haruhi considered her position. She’d never really considered herself as weak before, but now… She was like prey. One day, Tamaki would decide to eat her, and there was nothing she could do about it… Right? Honestly, she doesn’t know why he doesn’t just get it over with… Part one Part two Part three Part four Horrifying Martyrdom (connected one-shot)
Busy Hands series
He has to keep writing, in black ink on white paper. He has to keep his hands busy. Kyoya’s OCD tics are acting up, worse than they’ve been for years, but if everyone could just get off his back, then he could just ride it out and get back to status quo. … Yeah, that’s not happening. Part one Part two Part three Part four Part five
Colours series
You wake up, the colour fades, and it’s all back to grey. Like it was. History repeats itself, you suppose. Kyoya deals (or, more accurately doesn’t deal) with his depression. Part one Part two Part three Part four Part five Part six Part seven Part eight
Life is a Cabaret
Cabaret AU “There was a cabaret, and there was a master of ceremonies, and there was a city called Berlin in a country called Germany… and it was the end of the world. I was dancing with Kyoya Ootori, and we were both fast asleep…” - Kaoru Kelly-Hitachiin, 1931 Part one
Paint on the Wall
Tumblr artist AU Paint away the pain. He’ll draw himself suffering so that he doesn’t inflict it on himself in real life. He’ll rip his guts out on the page so he won’t really split himself open with the kitchen knife. That didn’t really work out though… Did it? Part one Part two Part three
Please Eat, Kyoya
Pretty An Ootori is supposed to be controlled, but Kyoya liked the thrill of the unpredictable, the uncontrollable. This gave him a taste of both, and a host had to be pretty, right? Part one Part two Part three Part four Part five Part six Part seven Sickly Because these things come to a head, eventually. You can only hurt yourself for so long before something breaks - but a phoenix rises from the ashes… Right? Part one Part two
Rotten Palaces
Crimson Peak AU Kyoya Ootori, throughout his life, knew one thing for definite: Ghosts were real. Part one Part two
To Be A Princess
Princess Jellyfish AU “Tokyo seemed to be a land full of princesses. Every time he entered some new street, beautiful girls wore their own princess dresses, smiling and radiant with joy. It was inspiring, intoxicating, and he… was jealous. Sure, boys could be princes, but… It wasn’t the same. Princes weren’t the ones who caught eyes with pearls, diamonds and the tulle that would float and glide as if enchanted…” Kyoya finally meets the prince to their princess. Part one Part two

Questions for Tami
How many books have you written?
This is a fair question. Any new reader who finds my work on a store isn’t going to immediately know that I have other pennames, or that I frequently publish short stories in magazines. The reader who stumbles over my fanfiction on AO3 isn’t going to know I have flash fiction on Tumblr or even a website.
To keep track of all my work, I have a spreadsheet that notes the title, what penname, when I finished it, how long it is, and where I’ve first published it. It has more details, but the important part is I can open that spreadsheet and scroll down and down and tell you…
I have written 116 things.
These things are a mix of novels, novellas, and short stories. They don’t include my fanfiction or flash fiction. Most of these things are available for purchase—although a few are on submission or just waiting in line to be published.
It has been on my to-do list for some time to make a complete reading list available for download on the website and I just haven’t gotten to it yet. Now is as good a time as any, right? Here’s a list: https://www.tamiveldura.com/biblio/

Do Cancer Clinical Trials Work?
You could be invited to think about participating in a clinical study if you or a loved one is given a cancer diagnosis. These studies examine brand-new medications and other medical procedures that might enhance your care. These studies contribute significantly to our knowledge of cancer and advanced methods for its detection, diagnosis, treatment, and care. They also advance our understanding of how cancer develops and identify effective methods against certain tumors.
Phase I studies are physicians' initial examinations of novel cancer treatments. The medicine is tested to determine the best way to administer it and whether it is safe for humans. In these trials, a limited number of patients get the medication in escalating dosages. Doctors closely monitor each patient's side effects to determine the appropriate dosage.
To determine the safety of the treatment, scientists also test it on cancer cells in a test tube or lab dish, as well as on animals. Phase II studies for the medication begin if these tests show promise. These studies give people with a specific kind of cancer a new medication. It is a response if cancer temporarily stops growing or shrinks.
In clinical trials, new medications are tested on a limited number of cancer patients (called a "cohort"). They also research the drug's effectiveness and potential adverse effects. After Phase I testing, a medicine undergoes Phase II trials, which typically concentrate on a specific form of cancer. The goal is to determine if the medication shortens lifespans or reduces tumor size.
These studies, also known as "cohorts," typically include 15 to 50 participants. To determine how the medications affect these individuals, doctors collect blood and urine samples from them. In the early days of cancer medication research, phase II studies were virtually invariably nonrandomized, and nearly all employed tumor response as their primary outcome. However, this method is now unacceptable due to the development of molecularly targeted treatments.
A crucial step in the cancer research process is clinical trials. They enable us to understand the operation of novel medications, radiation treatment, surgical techniques, and their safety and efficacy. The number of patients ranges from hundreds to thousands. The innovative treatment or the conventional treatment is randomly allocated to each patient.
Researchers often examine if a novel treatment results in a higher quality of life, a longer life expectancy, and fewer adverse effects than the current standard of care. Additionally, they check to determine if the novel therapy stops cancer from returning more frequently than the conventional therapy. If the novel therapy is successful, researchers could proceed to Phase III investigations. Because fewer individuals are in these trials and more medications are used, they are more rigorous than phase II research.
Multi-institutional studies, called cooperative group trials, examine innovative cancer diagnosis, screening, prevention, and care delivery methods. A nationwide network of academic researchers, cancer treatment facilities, and general practitioners carry out these studies.
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has financed cooperative group trials since the 1950s. By creating efficient combination regimens, these early group studies intended to raise the cure rate for leukemia and other malignancies.
With growing support from outside sources, the cooperative groups gradually broadened their focus to encompass studies including cancer screening and prevention, biomarker discovery and validation, and health services research. This expanded the scope of cooperative group research to fulfill the needs of a fast-evolving environment in the field of cancer science.
These adjustments have been beneficial, although the NCI continues to encounter obstacles. Due to this, the NCI recently reorganized and changed the name of its cooperative group program to the National Clinical Trials Network. As a result, research-creation times have been shortened, and NCTN members now have access to standardized remote data-collecting systems, yet numerous problems persist.

Blood Glucose Testers: A Comprehensive Guide to Monitoring Blood Sugar Levels
Monitoring blood glucose levels has become a crucial part of managing diabetes and overall health. Whether you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or are simply looking to keep your health in check, understanding how Blood Glucose Testers work is essential. In India, where the prevalence of diabetes is steadily rising, accessible and reliable glucose level testers are more important than ever.
Let’s dive into the world of blood glucose testers, explore their features, and learn how they help individuals take control of their health.
What Are Blood Glucose Testers?
Blood glucose testers are medical devices that measure the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. These devices are particularly vital for people living with diabetes, helping them monitor their blood sugar and adjust medication, diet, or lifestyle accordingly. However, even non-diabetics can benefit from regular glucose monitoring to detect early signs of metabolic issues.
Types of Blood Glucose Testers Available
There are different types of glucose testers in the market, each catering to specific needs and preferences.
Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs)
CGMs continuously track glucose levels through a sensor placed under the skin. They send real-time data to a connected device, making them suitable for people with Type 1 diabetes or those requiring frequent monitoring.
Finger-Prick Blood Sugar Testers
These testers require a small drop of blood, usually taken from a fingertip, and measure glucose using a strip and a meter. They are portable, affordable, and ideal for quick checks.
Non-invasive Glucose Testers (Emerging Technology)
Although still under development, non-invasive Glucose Level Tester aim to measure blood sugar without breaking the skin, using technologies like infrared light or sweat sensors.

Just Mockingbird things:
Has a Welsh corgi named Dookie. If you think it's strange that it looks just like the same Dookie owned by Queen Elizabeth II, you're wrong and please don't look much further into it.
Though she's gotten (somewhat) better about the trauma around the Phantom Rider and being Lincoln's drugged up lover stuck in the past, knowing that he can just possess any of his descendants hasn't stopped her from lowkey monitoring the Slade family. Call it paranoia over unluckily being stuck with her dead r*pist who seems to like coming back, but she's ready to shove him off an even higher cliff herself.
Her current thoughts on her ex-husband are highly conflicted. On one hand Clint's still her lovable idiot who greatly matches her brand of chaos, on the other hand he's just too much of that impulsive idiot who she blames (even though she won't say it out loud) for her new existence as an ageless supersoldier and questions if he really does understand just what happened to her in the wild west. Won't stop her for still caring about him, but she just wishes the shadowy government beings that be would stop believing that's a bad thing.
Takes great pride in the fact that Skrull children are told scary stories about her to keep them being good little warmongering children. She had to be productive during her time kidnapped and marooned by the Skrulls.
Would rather not date spies again if it can be helped but she has a very strong type in men so that's probably not happening.
The upside to not having to worry about getting old and having a healing factor: hair always looks amazing and can fit into anything from 10 years ago. Downside to not having to worry about getting old and having a healing factor: aware of the fact that she'll watch everyone she loves die, the weekly medical checkups due to how experimental the mixture was, being aware of the fact that she's unconsciously taking more risks than she used to, sometimes waking up to blood on the pillows...
At least 3 bookcases are dedicated to extensive collections of published thesis papers on the advancements in biochemistry, molecular research, encyclopedias, and whatever the current trends in chemistry are. She calls it her light reading.
Does yoga for anger management. It works about as well as you'd think.
For the longest time she couldn't watch any Western media or anything with cowboys without a panic attack. Still tries to avoid both, but she's gotten a bit better about managing that stuck, gross feeling.
Don't ask her how much the formulas have advanced her already latent psychic abilities because even she's not sure. Right now being able to redirect ping pong balls to others with the same mutation strain, redirect sources of psychic abilities into other objects, and limited telekinesis is all she's figured out at the moment.

How to Use At Home Coumadin Testing Kits Effectively
Managing anticoagulation therapy, particularly with Coumadin (warfarin), requires precision and regular monitoring of blood coagulation levels. Fortunately, at-home Coumadin testing kits offer a convenient solution, allowing patients to monitor their International Normalized Ratio (INR) from the comfort of their homes. This blog will guide you through effectively using these kits, ensuring accurate results and optimal health management.
Understanding Coumadin and Its Importance
Coumadin, a commonly prescribed anticoagulant, helps prevent blood clots in individuals at risk of conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism. However, its effectiveness relies on maintaining the correct INR levels, which measure how long it takes for your blood to clot. Regular monitoring is crucial, as fluctuations in INR can lead to serious complications, including bleeding or thrombosis. This is where at-home Coumadin testing kits come into play, offering patients a way to manage their therapy more effectively.
Choosing the Right At Home Coumadin Testing Kit
When selecting an at-home Coumadin testing kit, consider the following factors:
Accuracy: Look for kits that are FDA-approved and provide reliable results.

Popular brands include the CoaguChek and the InRatio systems, both known for their reliability and user-friendly features.
Preparing for Your Test
Before using your at-home Coumadin testing kit, follow these preparation steps:
Wash Your Hands: Always start by washing your hands with soap and water to reduce the risk of infection and ensure clean results.
Gather Your Materials: Ensure you have your testing device, test strips, and a lancet ready. Having everything in one place makes the testing process smoother.
Choose the Right Site: Typically, you will use a fingertip for the test. Select a spot that is not calloused and avoid areas with scars.
Performing the Test
Once you are prepared, follow these steps to perform your at-home Coumadin test:
Insert the Test Strip: Place the test strip into the device as instructed in the user manual. Ensure that it is properly positioned to avoid errors.
Prick Your Finger: Use the lancet to prick the side of your fingertip. This area is less painful than the pad and helps avoid nerve endings.
Collect the Blood Sample: Allow a drop of blood to form, then gently touch the drop to the designated area on the test strip. Do not smear or mix the blood; a proper drop is necessary for an accurate reading.
Wait for Results: Most devices will display results within a minute. Ensure you understand the interpretation of the results, as they will indicate whether your INR is within the desired range.
After Testing: Interpreting and Recording Results
Once you have your INR result, it’s essential to interpret the data accurately:
Normal Range: For most patients on Coumadin, the typical INR range is between 2.0 and 3.0. However, your healthcare provider may prescribe a different range based on your specific condition.
Recording Results: Keep a log of your INR results, including the date, time, and any notes regarding medication changes or health changes. This log can be invaluable for discussions with your healthcare provider.
When to Contact Your Healthcare Provider
While at-home Coumadin testing kits empower patients, certain situations warrant contacting your healthcare provider:
High or Low INR Results: If your INR is outside your target range, seek medical advice immediately.
Signs of Complications: Watch for symptoms like unusual bruising, prolonged bleeding, or signs of a clot, such as swelling or pain in the legs.
Medication Changes: If you have made any changes to your diet, medications, or lifestyle that may affect your INR, inform your healthcare provider.
Using at-home Coumadin testing kits effectively can significantly enhance your management of anticoagulation therapy, promoting better health outcomes and greater peace of mind. By following the steps outlined in this guide and maintaining regular communication with your healthcare provider, you can ensure that your INR levels remain stable and within the target range. Samsung Health Research Stack 2.0 Beta Version By Samsung
Samsung Health Research Stack
Precise data measurement and analysis are becoming more and more crucial as the wearables and digital health sectors expand. To support data-driven digital health research, Samsung Electronics unveiled Samsung Health Research Stack.
The open-source Samsung Health Research Stack project from Samsung Electronics facilitates digital health research employing wearables and mobile devices in Wear OS and Android environments. The platform offers a software environment for medical researchers and IT developers to easily and securely arrange services utilizing pertinent data.
Samsung Health Research Stack attempts to assist researchers in putting their desired features into practice because clinical research necessitates apps and services that continuously monitor, share, and analyze health-related data from users’ everyday life.
Samsung has revealed the most recent version, Samsung Health Research Stack 2.0 Beta, which follows the releases of Samsung Health Stack Alpha in 2022 and Samsung Health Stack 1.0 in 2023. With a focus on supporting the research ecosystem as part of the recently released Samsung Health SDK Suite, a complete collection of software development tools for healthcare solutions, the open-source project has relaunched as Samsung Health Research Stack.
Samsung Health SDK Suite
A brand-new Samsung Health Software Development Kit (SDK) Suite was unveiled by Samsung Electronics. The SDK Suite uses Samsung’s sophisticated sensor technology and extensive Samsung Health platform to better assist developers and researchers in developing cutting-edge healthcare solutions. A wider range of partners, developers, and researchers can now easily access the new comprehensive set of sensor, data, accessory, and research stack components.
App SDK
Research on digital health is made more effective by Samsung Health Research Stack. Features include an online site to help with research design and data analysis, an app SDK for simple application construction, and a back-end service to manage data acquired by the app. The most recent version has more practical features in response to researcher feedback.
The app SDK is a development tool that lowers the time and expense needed to create digital health apps. It also facilitates the creation of wristwatch apps that use wearable sensor data in addition to research mobile apps. Researchers may now develop watch apps that measure and use body composition, blood oxygen level, and EKG data from the cutting-edge Galaxy Watch sensors thanks to improved support for the Sensor SDK. Researchers can use sleep data from the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring to design applications with the help of the new Data SDK integration.
Additionally, the online portal and back-end service have been made more user-friendly and performant. With additional functionality to organize studies, the back-end architecture has been strengthened to handle data from large clinical trials.
