Teacher Snape headcanons
Makes sure he has enough red ink at the beginning of each term. Has a subscription for refills every few months.
Actually prefers ballpoint pens but he doesn't want to ruin his aesthetic.
He doesn't particularly like the jars of dead things but they add to the vibe he wants to project.
When he doesn't have at least one detention scheduled a week, he feels like he hasn't been productive enough.
He doesn't actually hate students like Neville, he just doesn't want anyone to die.
The only reason there isn't a rule about keeping your hair up while doing potions, like all muggle science classes, is because Snape refuses to put his hair up in front of students.
Actually has several types of robes of varying quality and shade of black and is a little miffed no one has ever noticed.
Has a spell in place in his classroom that any pet hair that may fall off a student is immediately banished to Mcgonagall's classroom.
The Potions class doesn't have to be in the dungeons but Severus decided to continue the tradition so that he is as far away from Trelawney as possible. (Drunk Trelawney is handsy)
No one but the Slytherins knows that Snape hates awkward conversation so much that he actually wrote out pamphlets to hand to people who come to his office with awkward questions or problems so that he never has to talk about it. ex. Menstruation, wet dreams, the sex talk, contraceptives and Stds, proper hygiene, bed wetting.
Snape didn't used to be that strict when he started teaching but had to adopt his bat persona because he was so young when he started that students liked to mess around in his class and people nearly died.
He notices when his first years get homesick and coddles them from a distance by remembering what favorite foods they like and ordering them from the house elves to appear at the slytherin table at dinner.
He also notices when his first years show signs of abuse and 'politely' tells off their families when he can.
Keeps a stash of all potions he brews for the infirmary in his office for all the Slytherins who don't want to go to Poppy for various reasons.
Strictly applies 'don't ask don't tell' concerning relationships and sexuality and has a zero tolerance policy for any type of bullying with the exception of letting Draco mess with Harry because of baggage.
Volunteers to referee quidditch matches to make sure Slytherin gets fair calls.
Used to brew simultaneously with the students during class to help teach them. But once he realized students were actually stupid enough that he had to watch 24/7 in case they blew everyone up, he moved to his current method of 'here is a potion, brew it now or fail'.

I recently got some new fountain pens (so I don't keep destroying the ink chambers of the antique ones I inherited from my grandfather and have been attempting to restore, with mixed results). I've been refilling the Schaeffer cartridges with black, but I've filled the last couple of fountains with some fun ink colors for variety.
Since the split-nib pens are smoother and lay down ink faster than ballpoints, I like to keep some with the little writing notebook beside my bed so I can jot down story notes when late-night inspiration strikes. I'm usually in a rush to get words down (and also half-asleep), so fast writing is a plus, but that makes my handwriting semi-legible at best. 😅 I really do prefer to type rather than write in longhand, because it's the only way my hands can keep up with my brain, but if I turned on a computer in the middle of the night I'd never go back to sleep.

while i'm thinking about pens, here's a lil "what's in my pencil case" post cuz it's been a minute since i've done one. can you tell my favorite color? lmao.
detail shots, writing sample & notes about everything under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first we have our basic, "staple" pens and such, in order from the top left down and to the right:
+Zebra bLen FM2 Ballpoint Pen 0.5 mm - this particular version was a limited edition but JetPens sells other colors/models. to be honest i mostly got this because of the aesthetics of it, but the gimmick is that it's supposed to not "rattle" or shake as much as other pens, making it a smoother "stress-free" writing experience and i suppose that would be true if the ink didn't skip so ding dang much. i give it a 4.5/10
+Zebra Sarasa Push Clip Gel Pen 0.5 mm Black - ohhh now we're talkin. my first true stationery crush. i own these in every color they come in. you're never gonna go wrong with a zebra sarasa. as a lefty i'm wary of smudges and these puppies dry fast and don't skip. i would marry this pen if i could.
+Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen Hard Tip - my preferred choice for doing brush pen lettering. i like the fude touch sign pens from pentel too but their ink tends to be too juicy for me as a lefty & it's a smudge hazard, but tombows are perfect.
+ Sakura Pigma Micron 10 (0.6 mm) - this is actually a new thing, i was messing around with different headers a few weeks ago and after i was done i was too lazy to stick this back where it goes with its family, so i put it in my pencase. but you never know when you need a nice thick black marker to do headers and stuff in your bullet journal, you know?
+Sakura Gelly Roll White 10 & Glitter - these two are almost impossible to swatch but very useful for doing fun ~effects~ on ur headers. the white is about as opaque as i've found in a gel pen, and the glitter is transparent so it goes over pretty much everything and just adds a hint of bling.
+Zebra DelGuard Mechanical Pencil 0.5 mm Hello Kitty & eraser - no joke the best mechanical pencil i've ever tried, i will never use another. it's one of them fancy japanese over-engineered sorts of things, and it's got all sorts of mechanics in it to keep lead from breaking, and it WORKS. as someone who prefers a fine lead in my pencils, having your pencil constantly shatter is frustrating as hell but i have literally never had that problem with these. the eraser is, i think, from sun star, idk. i got it cuz it was cute but it's really nothing special.
+Midori Multi Ruler 30 cm - this thing is super helpful for getting straight lines when doing bullet journal headers. the hinge helps it fold up compact & also lets it work as a compass but i typically don't worry about that.
Tumblr media
next up, our ~fun colors~ starting with our minty greens
+Pentel Energel Clena w/ Turquoise Blue refill 0.5 mm - this originally came with a black ink refill but i wanted it to match so i bought a turquoise one separately and i think it's super cute. in case it isn't obvious mint green/teal are my favorite colors and so i love carrying around multiple options to give my notes a lil pop of my fav shade.
+Pentel Fude Touch Sign Pen Emerald Green - another new addition to the pen case, i honestly just stuck it in here because i didn't have enough room in the green section of my brush pen/marker organizer lol. but you know, it's my go-to fav color, it's helpful to keep around. like i mentioned up above i sometimes struggle with the pentel brush pens cuz of how juicy the ink is, so i don't use them as often, but the color is really pretty and they write very nicely.
+Zebra Mildliner Highlighter Mid Blue-Green - of course i am a basic bitch who loves mildliners. i own literally every color & this one is only here because it's a duplicate, and so i just stuck it in the pencil case to match everything else. but you know, every situation can be improved with a mildliner i think. (also stationery confession- am i the only one who likes the brush pens better than the regular highlighters? cuz i do. they're fun!!)
+Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight 1.0 mm Pastel Green - another pen i am only keeping in here because it doesn't fit with the rest of my gel pens (i may or may not have a problem) but again, it matches.
Tumblr media
finally, we have the Zebra Sara Push Clip Gel Pens 0.5 mm in Vintage Colors. did you think i was kidding when i said this was my favorite pen & i own every color? i meant every. color.
i really like these vintage ones because they're more readable than some of the bright/pastel shades of the regular pens. very sophisticated. also that green black matches so beautifully with all my favorite minty green shades.
so there you have it, everything i keep in my everyday pen case. if you're wondering this is a Sun Star Delde pencil case, this colorway doesn't exist anymore but i love these slide kind of pencil cases that turn into standing pen cups. very convenient to keep out on your desk. and, of course, it matches everything else. :D

1. Elegant Design with a Modern Touch
One of the first things that sets the Parker Beta Premium apart is its design. The pen embodies Parker’s commitment to aesthetics, blending classic elements with contemporary touches. It comes in a sleek, modern design that fits comfortably in your hand. The pen’s body is streamlined, offering a professional appearance without being too flashy. The design is subtle yet elegant, making it suitable for both casual and formal writing situations.
The metallic finish gives the Parker Beta Premium Ball Pen a luxurious feel without the high price tag. It’s available in several attractive color combinations, including black with gold accents and silver with chrome touches, ensuring that there’s a version to suit every taste. Whether you’re using it in a meeting, signing an important document, or just jotting down notes, this pen adds an air of sophistication to your writing.
2. Ergonomics: Comfort Meets Functionality
Parker’s attention to detail is evident not only in the pen’s appearance but also in its ergonomic design. The Parker Beta Premium Ball Pen is crafted with the user’s comfort in mind. It features a lightweight body that feels well-balanced, making it easy to hold for extended periods of time. Whether you’re writing a quick note or a lengthy document, the pen’s comfortable grip ensures that your hand doesn’t tire quickly.
The contoured grip section allows for a firm, yet gentle hold, reducing strain on your fingers. This feature is especially beneficial for students, professionals, and anyone who does a lot of writing throughout the day. The pen’s barrel is neither too thick nor too thin, striking the right balance for a comfortable writing experience.
3. Smooth Writing Experience
One of the most critical aspects of any pen is the quality of its writing experience, and the Parker Beta Premium Ball Pen delivers in spades. Equipped with a high-quality ballpoint mechanism, the pen provides a smooth and consistent ink flow. You don’t have to worry about ink skipping or smudging, which can be a common issue with lower-quality pens.
The ballpoint mechanism is designed to glide effortlessly across the page, offering a writing experience that is both precise and fluid. The ink dries quickly, making it ideal for note-taking, journaling, or even sketching. With its fine tip, the pen produces clean and crisp lines, ensuring your handwriting looks neat and professional.
The pen uses Parker’s Quinkflow technology, which enhances the ink flow and gives you a smoother writing experience compared to traditional ballpoint pens. This technology also ensures that the pen lasts longer without drying out, providing value for your money.
4. Durability and Longevity
Another standout feature of the Parker Beta Premium Ball Pen is its durability. Made from high-quality materials, this pen is built to last. Unlike cheaper pens that break or stop working after a short period, the Parker Beta Premium is designed to withstand the rigors of daily use. Its robust construction ensures that it remains a reliable writing companion for years to come.
The pen’s refillable nature also adds to its longevity. Instead of discarding the pen when the ink runs out, you can simply replace the refill, making it an environmentally friendly option as well. Parker refills are widely available and come in a variety of ink colors, allowing you to personalize your writing experience.
5. Affordability Without Compromise
While the Parker Beta Premium Ball Pen offers many features typically found in higher-end pens, it remains an affordable option for most consumers. Priced competitively, it provides exceptional value for money, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Whether you’re a student on a budget, a professional looking for a reliable pen, or a collector of fine writing instruments, the Parker Beta Premium is a great choice.
Despite its affordability, Parker has not compromised on quality. The pen retains the brand’s signature style, craftsmanship, and performance, making it an excellent investment for anyone who values a smooth, comfortable, and stylish writing experience.

With its combination of style, performance, and affordability, the Parker Beta Premium Ball Pen makes for a thoughtful and practical gift. Whether it’s for a birthday, graduation, or corporate event, this pen is a great way to show someone you care. Its elegant design and Parker’s renowned reputation add a touch of luxury to any occasion.

Whether you’re writing for work, school, or leisure, this pen delivers a writing experience that is both enjoyable and reliable.

OOOOOOOO
Ok so the options from left to right are what looks like an older version of the Uni-Ball Vision, literally just a black pen with a parallelogram on it but no branding so I can't tell what it is, a Sharpie S-Gel, a Uni-Ball Vision Elite, a Pilot G2, a Papermate Flair, and one of those Bic pens that are always dried up
I've never used anything from the Vision line, so I can't say how good they write, but if you want a rollerball pen, go with one of those. I'm not going to talk about the pen with the parallelogram on it because there's no way for me to tell how it writes or what type of pen it is. It looks like the parallelogram might be an ink window, though, and since the thickness of the black inside means that it would be a cartridge instead of a refill, it is most likely a fountain pen, rollerball pen, or felt tip. I've never used a Sharpie S-Gel either, but I have used a Pilot G2. It isn't great compared to other pens, like Uni-Ball pens, but if it was a Pilot Juice there instead of a G2, I would have picked it. I went wth the Papermate Flair because I love fineliners more than I love breathing. They come in so many colours and write so smooth and creamy, it's like a stick of butter. Plus, they sell them at every store that sells pens so I won't have to go to Michael's or order online. As for the dried up Bic, do not pick this one under any circumstances. It's sad. It is the only ballpoint formula I have ever used that dries up. Go with any other ballpoint pen. There aren't any other ballpoint pens on this list, though. Just gels and rollerballs and one felt tip. Felt tips skip the least out of those three. Do what you want though

These innovations ensure crisp, clear lines with every stroke and minimize the risk of ink blobs or skips, enhancing the overall writing experience.
5. Innovative Mechanisms for Convenience and Versatility
Innovations in ball pen design also extend to the mechanisms used to deploy and retract the pen tip. Manufacturers are introducing new features such as twist-action mechanisms, click-top buttons, and magnetic closures for added convenience and ease of use. Innovations in ball pen design are transforming these everyday writing instruments into stylish accessories that blend form and function seamlessly. From ergonomic designs that prioritize comfort to customizable options that allow for personalization, ball pens are evolving to meet the diverse needs and preferences of consumers.
