reread bj Alex and .... yep. ASSHOLE. he was a huge asshole until the MC pulled away and started to treat him like shit. when he FINALLY caught on that the MC wants nothing to do with him because alex declared that he didn't want a relationship with him and was very blatant and mean about it, the story like goes on about his personal (not well developed) trauma where his brother's friend like... takes his virginity and acts as his first love but then RANDOMLY???? says "lmaoo idiot! get bent! I just did this cause I was bored and wanted your brother. I never wanted uuu ahahah idiot!!!" and then alex is like "hmm.. word? lemme start cam whoring cause fuck love."

HONESTLY, if the author just used the whole his parents disliking him compared to his brother reason rather than random heartbreak that shatters him (seriously so stupid and random, his first love is literally like "I NEVER LOVED YOU LMAOO YOURE SO NAIVE," is he a sociopath?? how about its less dramatic and there's an actual conversation about how hes moved on and doesnt love him rather than like fueling this weird brother complex situation... its just so dumbbb and not enough backstory to give alex reason to disrespect the Mc) it migthve been a decent backstory but he just abuses the MC so much at that point its like slapping a bandaid on the a broken leg.

but even if the author gave alex an airtight backstory, Alex was kinda of irredeemable.. there's a point where he like r**** the Mc with a sex toy and almost hurts him because he was jealous at THE THOUGHT of the MC being courted by someone else. and when the Mc clears it up because UHDUH, HE WONT LIE TO YOU, ITS OBVIOUS HE LIKES YOU, it's like overshadowed by cute date montage!! yayyy??

like idgaf about Alex's trauma, he literally tried to force himself onto the MC who's noticeably upset about the trauma but then alex is like "okayy.. ill do whatever you want" and the MC forgets about it... like what?? is the MC like in a Stockholm situation? the only thing about alex that gives him the ability to do this to the MC is his looks... THATS IT. the MC is so jacked up on "OMG MY FAVORITE CAM WHORE LIKES ME?!? HES SO HOT! IM HIS FAN AND IM FUCKING HIM" until he realizes alex is an actual narcissist douchebag (LITERALLLY the moment Mc pulls away and stops giving him what he wants which is attention he's like "maybe this is the version of dong hyun of been wanting..." THE ONE THAT TREATS YOU LIKE SHIT AND DOESNT LIKE YOU??? AND NO HIS TRAUMA DOESNT DEFEND HIS THINKING, GO TO THERAPY ALEX) when FINALLY Mc moves on and is actually thinking for himself, they give a pseudo love interest of like a military friend... NO. make THE MC GET MADE LOVE TO AND ACTUALLY TREATED WELL BY SOMEONE WHO ISNT TREATING HIM LIKE GUM ON THE BOTTOM OF HIS SHOE. legitimately, IF AND ONLY IF, the author made the Mc have sex with someone other than Alex, be loved by someone other than Alex and time passed, Alex went to therapy or some shit and they meet again in the future? beautiful. I could imagine it. dong Hyun is like single but been in many relationships. Alex hasn't been in any relationships but has been doing serious counseling. they meet randomly, have coffee and actually build a connection that isn't already fucked from a power imbalance (sexworker and buyer) that'd be a better story because there's healing. when a character goes from being a douchebag to being a loving boyfriend in a day it's not because he's genuinely changed, its because alex is afraid of rejection and wants the same validation and attention he got from the MC and realizes he needs to play nice to get it. NOT because he cares about the MC. and that's on that.

I literally always reread bjalex cause I forget about the abuse but when I'm doing my reread, I'm always just like "what the fuck is Alex's problem?"

and also the MC is ... idk I can't even say dumb... like he didn't know alex would completely fuck him over like he did and be such a terrible person. and because the MC had no previous experience in love and relationships to identify and leave the abusive situation sooner rather than later, it just literally made it impossible to think alex was a good match for the mc

AND OH MY GOOD, I'm also remembering this scene where the MC is like ".. yeah he might get mad if I mention having an opinion that isn't sucking his dick or going along with the situation" and his BFF is like "girl what? that's kinda strange.. whatever doe.." HIS BEST FRIEND CLOCKS ALREADY THAT THIS IS NOT HEALTHY AND IGNORESSS it for plot convenience.

I should reread bj Alex but also, he treated the Mc like SHIIIT lmaoooo fuck bro like this author has a thing for making abusive tsun ML/semes but like.. idk would one rather deal with the puppy seme or the abusive seme?
